Well done Tortoise! Wow can't wait to hear the difference.

Day 3 in the back. Ouch, my stomach muscles are killing me tonight. I've never ever done a workout that kills those muscles like this one. Which is good, as I need to tone up my belly most off all :)

madeindevon2 · 19/08/2010 09:57

I don't think you should be aiming to feel 'normal' - as Queen Jillian says, it's the last ones that hurt the most that really count! That said, I've done 10 days on each level.

Can I just say one more time that I. Fucking, Hate. Walking. Push-ups.

BusyMissIzzy · 19/08/2010 21:02

Hi all, can I join? DVD arrived today, think I'm going to start it tomorrow. I'm a bit scared... Will 1kg weights be sensible to start with? My arms are quite toned from kickboxing, but I haven't done any actual weights in a while.
I should take measurements too, shouldn't I, for comparison?

justaminute · 19/08/2010 22:00

Tortoise where are you? Without wanting to sound like I'm stalking you ... I'm itching to know your results.

My 30 days is up tomorrow then I'm off on holiday too to undo all the good work Grin. I had to put in a double session today, shredded am and pm in order to complete the damn thing.

Tortoise · 19/08/2010 22:11

Lol Justaminute! Grin I am here and have just finished shred and taken measurements! (Your turn next!)

Ok here we go!

Thigh - 1/2 inch off
Waist - 2 and a 1/2 inches off!! Grin
Upper - arm Zero Sad
Hips - 3 inches Shock Grin

I am very happy with those results apart from bingo wings! I thought they looked smaller but they are not. Sad

Can't believe i have lost 3 inches off hips. Grin

Not sure about weight loss. Didn't write down weight last time but probably 2-3lbs. Grin

tippytumbles · 19/08/2010 22:40

Well, after checking out this thread and reading reviews on Amazon I am now awaiting delivery of the dvd and a set of dumbells - wish me luck!

justaminute · 19/08/2010 22:44

Wow, wow and WOW again. That is AMAZING inch loss. I had a sneaky measure at the start of the week, don't think I've lost much at all but definitely feeling better/ fitter. I'll report in tomorrow - I need to be up at 6am to be able to squeeze it in tomorrow (eek)

Well done again and enjoy your holiday.

encyclogirl · 19/08/2010 23:22

Tortoise well done! That is just outstanding. Day 4 completed here, you've given me great impetous to keep going.

thumbwitch · 20/08/2010 05:19

Well done Tortoise!

I have not been able to do it since Weds morning because of travelling to England from Australia. Will try and get back into it today if the jet lag will allow me to.

But I have to say I had a benefit from it on the flight - travelling with a 2.8yo isn't much fun when you have window seats (despite asking for aisle) and the woman who has the aisle seat refuses point blank to swap (yy, her choice, blah blah). Anyway, at some point in the flight, she was asleep, DS was asleep, I was busting for a pee so I stood up on my seat and swung myself over her into the aisle :) - not too bad. Getting back in was more of a challenge though - couldn't stand on her arm rest or her seat because she fully filled it, so had to use my arm and upper body strength to lever myself up and over her - had a nasty moment when I nearly sat on her head, but I managed to steel my arm and cleared her neatly Grin.

Am feeling it in R arm and shoulder now - it really knows it did some work! Bet I wouldn't have made it without the shred...

racmac · 20/08/2010 06:49

well done tortoise - thats brilliant - i never seem to loose inches off my arms although they do feel more toned.

Are you dieting? Which diet or just being healthy?

justaminute · 20/08/2010 08:04

Amazingly I was up at 6am, did day 30 then went for a run to complete week 3 of the couch to 5K programme. Have now recovered from the shock to take measurements and wish I hadn't bothered Sad Only progress to report this month is half an inch off my bum.

There was an incident with a tub of Ben & Jerry's this week - i think it has taken its toll Blush

LostGirl · 20/08/2010 08:10

Don't be disheartened justaminute. One tub of ben and jerry's is not going to have undone all your hard work and half an inch of your bum is great. Read your earlier post about how much better you are feeling and how much fitter, it is having an effect on you even if it hasn't shown up on the tape measure as much as you would like. Congrats on completing the 30 days and have a great holiday Smile

justaminute · 20/08/2010 08:18

Thanks Lostgirl. I was very Envy at Tortoise's amazing results so was hoping for an overnight miracle!

Since Easter I have had good inch loss with the shred so I'm not too disheartened and the fact that it has given me the motivation to take up running is amazing. I had to get the run in before dh went to work, first time I've been out at sunrise it was lovely and has set me up for the day.

LC200 · 20/08/2010 08:22

I agreee, don't feel down - how you feel is a much better indicator, and if you feel fitter, well that's great! I bet it'll all come off at once like mine has.

Just wanted to share actually. I have spent my entire adult life HATING my shape (narrow weedy shoulders, OK bust, narrow waist, enormous hips). Before I started the Shred, my shoulders were 37 inches, bust 34, waist 28 and hips 41 - 41! As you can imagine buying trousers and dresses for this shape is near on impossible.

However, Shred has been a miracle! A miracle I tell you! I've been doing it since early July. My shoulders have bulked up to 39 inches, my bust has stayed the same, waist 26 and my hips are down to 37 inches! 37! It's like a miracle! I have bigger shoulders than hips for the first time since I was about 11 years old.

If I saw Jillian in the street I would throw myself at her feet.

TitsalinaBumSquash · 20/08/2010 08:26

I have done 2 days and i am in blardy agony, i cant sit down or stand up and walking up or down stairs... forget about it!
I shall continue thought this wieght has got to go!

thumbwitch · 20/08/2010 08:41

LC200 - you have a wasit of 26"?? EnvyEnvy

Wish mine would get below 30...

LC200 · 20/08/2010 08:50

Thumbwitch, it's just how I'm built. Have always had a skinny waist. In fact after over a month of the shred I still have absolutely no muscle definition whatsoever in my legs, but am getting the beginnings of a six pack. My dh (who is slim but has really toned legs and a bit of a beer belly) is most unimpressed that his wife has a six pack and he has a Santa style rounded tum. He cycles 15 miles a day though, just how we're built.

Makes buying trousers a total nightmare, when coupled with my ample hips and bottom!

justaminute · 20/08/2010 09:14

I totally sympathise with you LC200. My hip to waist ratio has always been large. As a child I normally wore skirts as my mum struggled to find trousers to fit over my ample backside Smile. It wasn't until I was 13 that I owned a pair of jeans - I switched to women's sizes rather than children's clothes. I wore those jeans to death I loved them so much Grin I finally felt like I fitted in with my peers Sad

Since having children my waist has thickened out so buying trousers isn't quite so difficult - if only the bum had shrunk instead - ho hum!

Tortoise · 20/08/2010 09:23

Justaminute Down feel down. You have lost inches before whereas i didn't really lose any 1st time around. Keep it up. Smile

Has anyone else found themselves feeling very shakey, unstable and dizzy after a shred session? Its only my 3rd day so im hoping it will pass with time. It feels like being in shock, maybe thats what it is?? My body in shock at actually doing some excersise! Grin
