Hi mn's.Just ordered the dvd along with the book from Amazon.Never heard about the 30 shred untill I read this thread so thanksSmile
Second son is 5 weeks old hope this works for me.
What kind of weights do I need?
ThanksSmile

thumbwitch · 11/08/2010 16:51

Are you stalking me? How did you know?!

Grin
IckleJess · 11/08/2010 17:51

Ok, better get some trainers then Smile

I guess because I've never really exercised before, I usually measure my success by what the scales say. I'm probably going to have to train myself to not look at those then and go by how my clothes fit etc.

IckleJess · 11/08/2010 17:54

Shabby I got some Davina McCall (sp?) weights out of Argos as they were the cheapest I could find lol! They are a set of 3 different weight handweights, can't remember the exact weights but they are roughly 0.5kg, 1kg and 2kgs weights. They were £14.99 and I'm using the 2kgs weights on Level one but I reckon I may have to lower them when I start Level 3 initially so I'm glad I got the set rather than individual weights.

detoxdiva · 11/08/2010 19:18

Well done thumbwitch - it does get easier, honest. I've just done day 4 of level 3 and it is def more do-able already! I couldn't do the final set of ab exercises on day 1 and managed the whole minute tonight Grin

Agree with the others about not weighing - my weight fluctuates so much week to week. I am using a pair of size 12 shorts to measure my progress Grin Day 1 they cut me in half to do them up, and today (day 14), they still give me a rather lovely muffin top but I can now breathe in them - progress in my books!!

detoxdiva · 11/08/2010 19:20

Eeek - that should say day 4 of level 2 - the mere thought of level 3 freaks me out!

Tortoise · 11/08/2010 22:07

Day 23 WO 3 done.
Was a bit naughty and skipped the jump squats and rock star jump. Really couldn't face them tonight but did the rest. Really tried hard with the lunges although i can't do the the hard way.

thumbwitch: LOL I know because I now have about 5 of my friends doing it because I talked about nothing else! Grin

Joby1970 · 12/08/2010 08:13

Shabbychiclover : I got my weights @ Decthalon (if you have one near you) they are 2.5KG & I think they were about £7

TartyMcFarty · 12/08/2010 10:18

Supposed to be starting L3 today (if amazing non-sleeping baby and itchy sore throat allow!)

Sadly ignored you lot on Tues but did it yesterday along with 10 mins on the bike, and felt ace. Today, however, I feel rough. We'll see ...

happilyeverafter · 12/08/2010 20:24

Mine was waiting on doormat when I got home so flicked it straight on and did Level One.

I was sweating pretty quickly, was intense fast but wasn't hellish like I was expecting. I has just done a 45 minute spin class though so body was already very warm which would have helped.

Managed to follow the advanced woman (jeez she has some bulky muscles) for about 75% but the ab stuff I did the easier version.

Will wait and see if I ache tomorrow, I cycle a lot so my leg muscles are generally strong but I did still really feel it.

Tortoise · 12/08/2010 22:11

Only one word to describe tonight workout!
weak!
I wimped out and went for WO 1.
Pelvic floor muscles were very weak! Blush
Just didn't have the energy and didn't enjoy it tonight. Sad
At least i am 1 day closer to 30 days! Grin

LC200 · 12/08/2010 22:34

I did WO1 tonight too, as had no energy. However, now I know the whole DVD pretty well I did some of the Level 3 abs stuff instead of the Level 1, as I find those the easiest exercises. Also did sumo jumpy things instead of jumping jacks, and the other cardios with my weights.

I like that when you know your way around the workouts you can mix and match a little bit depending on energy levels/aches and pains.

thumbwitch · 12/08/2010 23:40

I missed last night's session :(.
DS was unsettled and wouldn't go to sleep, so by the time he did, so did I!
Ah well.

Joby1970 · 13/08/2010 08:06

happilyeverafter : how are you feeling today?

IckleJess · 13/08/2010 08:43

I didn't do yesterday and won't be doing today either. Think I have sustained some sort of injury through stupidly not wearing trainers, my feet and ankles are really sore. Have some trainers arriving today so will pick up where I left off tomorrow.

Can't believe how guilty I feel though for skipping a couple of days - I feel fat too which is ridiculous but strange how quickly something becomes ingrained in our daily lives as I'm only on day 10.

Back to it tomorrow then Grin

racmac · 13/08/2010 08:58

OMG I did day 1 of WO3 and feel like Im going to die

Couldnt do the sumo jumps all the way through and couldnt do the jumping lunge thingys.

Im not sure why i skipped to WO 3 - i was on WO2 day 7 and havent done it since Monday so I thought would be good idea Hmm

happilyeverafter · 13/08/2010 10:31

Joby1970

My abs hurt, inner thighs tight and achy.

Cycled to work this morning and shoulders felt stiff too. Will see how I get on later with Day 2.

Joby1970 · 13/08/2010 10:41

HEA : doesn't sound too bad - a lot of us were almost incapable of walking after the first day lol.

justaminute · 13/08/2010 11:48

LOL Joby. If you can cycle HEA you are OK. I remember after my first Shred I walked like a cowboy just off his horse, my thighs and calves were in agony. Blush

DrSpechemin · 13/08/2010 13:28

Can I join you all?

I've just done day two and followed it up with some yoga stretches as yesterday I didn't feel that there was enough cool down time for my body.

Really enjoying it so far - 20mins goes by so quickly doesn't it? This is the first dvd I've done so don't really know what to compare it to but am determined to get rid of my muffin top :o

thumbwitch · 13/08/2010 13:48

OMG - 1 day off and I really suffered tonight! Unbelievable. Worse than Day 1, which was only 3 days ago! However, in my defence, I believe that is because I am flexing up and therefore doing deeper kneebends etc.
I nearly gave up after the first 5 mins (I soooo hate press-ups) but pushed through and finished - feel good for having done it though! :)

coffeekaren · 13/08/2010 13:54

Hello can i join you all also. Did day one yesterday and was sweating after mins and today my thights feel like lead but think i can carry on. Did it in the morning and just about to do it and DS1 decided to close all the curtains just in case anyone saw me -when i looked in the mirror i realised what he meant as i looked as if i was going to colapse. But quite encouraged as all my symtoms appear fairly standard.

Knackerelli · 13/08/2010 14:21

Have been laughing in recognition at the stories on here! When I started L1 I couldn't sit down the next day! Did level 2 for the first time yesterday ( well, first time without dd needing the toilet and ds crawling after plugs, cables, drinks etc. ) man it's sooooo hard. Am copying anita and even then not very successfully. Please tell me it gets better......!
