yummytummy - I found day 1 level 2 really hard. It's not easy now (day 4), but definitely more do-able!

ChristianaTheSeventh · 29/07/2010 10:02

Just done day 4 level One, still finding those side squat/ lungy things really hard where you do the chest raises at the same time, they are in the last set of strength exercises. I'm sure I'm not sticking my 'tush'(sp?) back enough and my knee comes too far forward. I'm trying really hard to get it right - is it just that I am unfit?!

Day 4 better than Day 3, pleased because I have started couch to 5k and went for my first run yesterday too and thought my body would feel worse today.

Level 2 sounds scary!

Joby1970 · 29/07/2010 13:25

My Bootcamp is run by my local gym - its the first time they have done it tho..I'm in Stockport.

I'm watching the biggest Loser too - she is hardcore - but they do edit heer to make her look worse.

racmac · 29/07/2010 16:42

is biggest loser on sky? Anyone know where can watch it online as i dont have sky - would love to see her in action

detoxdiva · 29/07/2010 20:01

Evening ladies

Well, day 2 completed Joby - I was aching a bit this morning...although I think I'll feel it properly tomorrow....found it tougher going tonight and my arms are def a bit achy already! Hope your bootcamp is going well.

TartyMcFarty · 29/07/2010 20:58

I'm feeling proud and smug tonight. Thought I wasn't going to have time but have just squeezed day 14 in but could so easily have bailed. Tomorrow is going to be tricky - have to fit it in during baby's morning sleep, as well as expressing, packing bags and car. Have to be out of the house by 10.15 for a dentist appointment and then onto a wedding. Phew!

TartyMcFarty · 29/07/2010 21:00

By the way, does anyone else feel about the groans that level 2 excites? Think the neighbours must wonder what I'm up to!

Tortoise · 29/07/2010 22:06

Finally got around to getting back to shred!

Day 15 done. Struggled a bit but glad i have done it at last!

OP posts:
detoxdiva · 30/07/2010 16:11

Day 3 done - still on level 1....and am feeling it in my thighs and arms today! Need some straight talking motivational techniques now to keep me focused on doing it every day. Was planning to do 10 days of level 1 before moving on to level 2....does that sound right? Although I have no hope of doing a proper push up by then

notyummy · 30/07/2010 18:19

That sounds about rightDiva. Don't worry about the press ups- when you do the shred next time round ( ie after completing 30 days) then you try the head versions!

yummytummy · 30/07/2010 19:08

hi all, looks like i may have to stop shredding, got a bfp today so yay! as had been trying for ages. but not sure if its still wise to shred as have a slightly higher risk of mc due to history. i think someone earlier in thread also fell pg but cant remember what was said then. was thinking of maybe just doing level one but without weights? or should i just leave it completely? aaargh! am so happy though cant quite believe it!

notyummy · 30/07/2010 19:22

The advise is generally to continue to exercise if you have been so already - however I think given the mc situation I would avoid high intensity stuff. Perhaps level 1 doing the easy version of everything?

When you get a bit bigger you will have to avoid most of the abs stuff, although there are a couple of quite good pilates for pregnancy dvds around. I did that and tummy snapped back afterwards. Could also slow jjog/power walk. DEpends on your current level of fitness to be honest. General rule is to try and maintain some fitness, but not to push yourself.

racmac · 30/07/2010 20:02

congrats yummytummy - i would stop completely - its to high impact - dont risk it

Tortoise · 30/07/2010 22:35

Congratulations YummyTummy. I would stop shredding too. Not worth the risk.

Day 16 done. My shoulders and arms are really aching! Only 14 days to go before measuring again. Really dreading WO 3!

ChristianaTheSeventh · 30/07/2010 22:41

I got DH to shred today! He loved it.

DAy 5 done and dusted.

MANY CONGRATULATIONS YummyTummy. I would definitely stop. I loved the Erin O'Brien PreNatal Fitness Fix DVD when I was PG, as well as Ten Minute PreNatal Pilates and Shiva Rea Yoga.

But Erin's one is great - aerobic and toning. Have a look on here on amazon

notyummy · 30/07/2010 22:44

Christiania - my DH shreds as well. We do our killer 'double shred' together and swap weights round so he is always using one size up on me (5 when I use 3kg etc)

We don't wear matching outfits though.....

ChristianaTheSeventh · 30/07/2010 22:48

Hah! DH was going to buy some weights tomorrow, get 5kg and 3kg so we can do the same thing... Except he is still at his work drinks so can't imagine he'll do much shredding tomorrow. Unless I make him

notyummy · 30/07/2010 22:49

One day when he isn't hungover see what he makes of doing 2 back--to-back. Hard work, but makes DH feel manly!!

ChristianaTheSeventh · 30/07/2010 22:52

Brilliant. I will suggest it to him.

God he's going to be hungover, he called at 8.30 saying 'you go ahead, eat without me, I'll call at 9 and probably be on my way home by then'... not heard anything since then! humph

yummytummy · 31/07/2010 10:47

thanks for all the congrats!

and christiana thanks for the pregnancy dvd link will def check it out!

always feel better if doing something else at least. still cant quite believe am actually pg at last!

TartyMcFarty · 31/07/2010 19:41

Congrats from me too, yummytummy!

howdidthishappentome · 01/08/2010 21:27

well only on day 2 of level one and ouch my thighs are killing me!! must be doing some good though.

justaminute · 02/08/2010 20:59

OMG I've just been out for a run and I enjoyed it

Run was never a word in my vocabulary but this DVD has made me feel so much fitter. I've enjoyed the sense of achievement too from "feeling like I was going to die" to completing Day 30. So, I thought I'd set myself a new challenge and have embarked on the couch to 5K programme.

Tonight was day 1 so I'm hoping the enthusiasm continues for the next run. I'm aiming to continue shredding every day too. Tonight was day 12, if I do it every day I'll have completed round 3 by my holiday.

Thanks for all your inspiration ladies. My backside WILL be a size 12 !

detoxdiva · 03/08/2010 08:09

Wow justaminute - that's fab! Well done - you're inspiring me to stick with it! Have done day 5 and it is getting a bit easier except those push ups! Still on level 1 but have got myself some 2kg weights to help with them arm toning

detoxdiva · 03/08/2010 08:10

the arm toning obv
