You're right Joby. To be fair to him he has been really supportive with making low-fat food etc., but he will have to be kicked out of the room for the cause of rock-hard abs and feeling like "you're gonna dieeee!" The only solution is to win the lottery and buy a massive house with a gym and huge plasma TV to Shred with(!)

Joby1970 · 22/07/2010 12:29

SBOL - or get him to do it with you lol

newstart2010 · 22/07/2010 12:30

Good thinking shiny, i might do the lottery this week

I would also like to know about the body wrap. As my arms and legs are getting very toned from exercise and my back, but my hips and belly are very big.

TartyMcFarty · 22/07/2010 19:48

Noooooo! I've missed my first shred today (day 10). Went back to work feeling v sad at leaving my baby girl, then came home knackered and starving so ate 2 pieces of fruit cake and a load of choccie bics. Working again tomorrow so am leaving shred and healthy eating til Sat. Then it's the summer hols

shiny, can you play the DVD on a laptop in another room?

shinybootsofleather · 23/07/2010 08:18

We don't have a laptop unfortunately. The computer is in the other room but the room is full of cheap laminate flooring and various bits of crap. I don't really want to be bouncing all 15st of me on laminate flooring .

Day 10 done yesterday, then I scared myself by watching level 2. Yikes! Will have to give that a go today, complete with hangover.

Undertone · 25/07/2010 16:23

Hi guys - it's your friendly neighbourhood lurker.

Have been shredding every few days (mixing it up with 45 min runs and sessions on cross-trainer) until I'd done 9 x level 1's. I felt that level 1 was getting a little too easy (still sweating like a pig at the end, but you know what I mean).

Did first day of level 2 this morning. OH MY GOD! It's insane. I had to pause it a couple of times - I feel like such a failure. The final abs exercise - I just couldn't do it.

Dear lovely Shred ladies - please tell me that you also had problems with level 2 the first time, that I'm not a wuss, and that it will get easier!!

Skimummy · 25/07/2010 21:13

All the levels are tough the first time...if not the first couple of times!

How are you finding mixing in the Shred with other exercise Undertone? I am just starting to do the same after doing pretty much only the Shred for quite a while. I have signed up for a 5km run as incentive to start running again. So went out for my first run this afternoon and will Shred tomorrow. The plan is to run 3x and Shred 3x with pilates on the 7th day. We'll see how it goes!

Still not up to shredding . Still have cough, cold and now another headache.

Hopefully back to it soon. School holidays are the times where i normally gain weight so i'm going to have to work extra hard to not let that happen.

Have any of you seen this? Wondering what it would be like and whether to get it.

May be back to shredding tonight. Feeling a bit better now. Still have a sight headache though.

There is a 2009 edition too. Might get one or the other and give it a try.

tortoise - what is it the link doesn't seem to work for me?

Tortoise · 26/07/2010 13:09

It's Jillian Michaels Fitness Ultimate 10 - Wii game.
Reviews are pretty bad though! SO don't think i will bother lol!

Skimummy - I hit a wall where I was bored of exercising and demotivated. I had the choice of running arund the park (park is very hilly so really NOT fun when you were as unfit as I was a few months ago) or going on my cross-trainer (fine, but mind-bendingly dull after a while - I ended up spending a fortune on a DVD every time I wanted to use it, as I had to watch something!)

I just needed something different. Started Shred, and it has freshened up my routine so exercising is not so much of a chore anymore. If I don't fancy a 45 minute slog in the park, I can Shred and feel like I've at least achieved something.

Tortoise - Yeah I heard the Wii game wasn't that great. However, I do have "the Biggest Loser" game for the Wii - I enjoy that.

shinybootsofleather · 27/07/2010 08:26

Being a bit of a sadcase, I added Jillian's to my pages on facebook. It seems that she is planning a sequel to the 30 Day Shred in 2011. There is no title yet. The "Shred with Weights" DVD out now is apparently nothing to do with 30DS.

Jazzicatz · 27/07/2010 11:39

Getting used to Level 2, so whats Level 3 like? Is it much harder than 2?

notyummy · 27/07/2010 11:55

Real life got in the way!

I have, however, still been exercising 5days out of 6 - although I don't shred for all of them.

Am now up to doing levels 2 and 3 back to back, using 3kg weights. (Cant use 3 kg for the V sits though!...or for the cardio bits in level 3)

Those 2 levels back to back do make me ache though. Hence an hour of Yoga (good stretch and tone ) tonight following the double shred extravaganza yesterday!

justaminute · 27/07/2010 12:07

How on earth do you breathe and do Levels 2 & 3 back to back WITH weights? .

I'm back on Level 1 with weights and sweating like a pig I managed 6 full push ups in a row last night - major chuffed but my arms know about it today

detoxdiva · 27/07/2010 12:13

Hello....can I join?

Have ordered the DVD which is due to arrive today or tomorrow and could do with some of your expert hints and tips {grin]

Ds is 10mo and while I've managed to lose most of the 3 stone I put on, my body resembles a saggy bag of spanners and I've decided to bite the bullet and tone up once and for all - and as no more dc are planned I want the stomach I've only dreamed of in the past

notyummy · 27/07/2010 12:26

Justaminute - I have been exercising for quite some time, so i like to push myself!

I used to be in the military, and what that taught me is how hard I can push myself physically. (Having a small angry Glaswegian Corporal shrieking in your ear is a good motivator!) Lots of people dont realise just how hard they can push themselves and give up just as the first signs of discomfort occur.
