Right, zone day today.

Had a granola bar for breakfast.
Have bought fruit, those very low-calorie tiny wraps from M & S, some low fat hummous and carrot sticks and marinated prawns with sweet chilli dip. Aiming to pick all day on low fat non-biff food items instead of having a healthy lunch then wanting to biff at three o'clock.

Have avoided pret today, apart from the extra-shot skinny latte I had to wake me up.

Dinky - I usually enjoy the ballet, but wasn't so hot last night. It was Romeo and Juliet and I'm not a massive Prokofiev fan. Also a bit of a Russian/Italian mash up, which came across a bit Eurovision. And there was some anachronistic choreography.

And I love Shakespeare, so I was missing the words.

Tbh, I nodded off

bobbiewickham · 20/05/2010 10:37

just in case any of you missed this - it didn't arf make me laugh

bobbiewickham · 20/05/2010 10:39

Ooh, and, and did anyone catch the thread about pine nut mouth on Saturday?

I did - just as I was eating some, and it's happened to me!

Which solved a mystery that has plagued me for a year! I've been taking medication for post-nasal drip (not a typo, my pelvic floor is tight as a drum, thank you very much)and it's blardy Chinese pine nuts!

BudaisintheZONE · 20/05/2010 10:45

bobbie that is funny! And so true! I did a wedding list and I cringe now looking back. It was relatively unheard of in Dublin at the time but we lived in London where everyone did it. Picked a dinner service pattern and a crystal pattern and did the rest at M&S. If I were to do it now I would say no presents.

dinky - I am in awe of you I have decided. How do you fit so much into your days? Children, work, exercise, internetting, gigs etc etc etc. Do you ever sleep?

Aitch - that vibrant patterened dress that someone (prob Dinky!) linked to was gorgeous. and it had sleeves.

BariatricObama · 20/05/2010 10:50

arf @ bobbies link. i had a list. i love lists better than buying some piece of crap that they will chuck.

bobbiewickham · 20/05/2010 10:56

I had a list too...a homemade one.

I had a right seventies wedding.

dinkystinky · 20/05/2010 11:02

I multitask Buda - right now am internetting while drafting a SPA (focus hard on work for half hour, take 5 min break, then back to work). And try and slot things in where I can.

Bobs - sorry the ballet wasnt so great. I think with the classics, is generally better to stick to classical interpretations of the dance though have to admit, atm, my fave dance cos are rambert ballet and merce cunningham as they have drooltastic dancers do great modern dance meshed with classical and interesting music. Well done on zoning it my friend. Remember - lots of water too.

bobbiewickham · 20/05/2010 11:04

I like my arabesques and plies at the ballet.

Am a dance Luddite, dinks.

Aitch · 20/05/2010 11:17

i have sent that link to Everyone Except My Sister...

yyy that dress was lovely, it's on my try-on list fo sho. although... and i realise i am sounding relentlessly negative here, as a fairly broad-shouldered miss i do like a deep v as have tendency to look a bit hattie jaques in a round neck unless fit is perfect. so let's hope the fit is perfect, as i really really like it.

VoulezVouzCrochezAvecJACK · 20/05/2010 11:20

Oh I can't wait until DD's are old enough to come to the ballet with me!

Dinky, don't do billy, i swear I can't even walk properly this morning, DH has succumbed to The Cold so I went out for paracetemol so he can get through work (he's doing 1-9) and I couldn't get in and out of the cr without holding onto doors!
dunno what to do for lunch, have southern fried chicken breasts (bad but tasty), turkey rashers (boooooooring) or smoked slamon, which I had yesterday...

Oh, and my mum has put some money in my accoutn as a birthday present, so now we can afford to go out, and get veyr drunk, and pay for a cab, and I can get my brow and nails done, ADN probably have some left over. I love my mum (of course this all depends on DH being able to watch dd's on saturday with The Cold...)

BudaisintheZONE · 20/05/2010 11:34

Aah. Multitasking. Have heard of it. Vaguely.

Aitch - hope dress fits perfectly then!

Jack - your mum sounds lovely.

dinkystinky · 20/05/2010 12:27

Jack - have dragged DS1 (now 4) along to short dance things since he was 2.5 years old (as want to ensure he appreciates dance and music and follows me in those respects rather than his tone deaf and two left footed but very lovely and tries hard dad) - he loves it. Took him to see the snowman at christmas and he really loved the dance stuff in that. So if your eldest is 4, she's probably ready. Hurrah for your lovely mum and the money. Brilliant.

Aitch · 20/05/2010 12:38

do i have to wear a ruff with it though?!

in some respects i like it more on her, though, although it looks like it's about ten sizes too big. i note the view of the ed of instyle mag, however.

VoulezVouzCrochezAvecJACK · 20/05/2010 12:48

Ah but dinky, you forget where I live (the back of beyond) we don't get much here so I would have to travel a good few hours to find culture
I haven't even braved cinema's with these lot...let alone theatres or dance!

WTF is on her neck?!

I didn't have a wedding list as we only had 26 guests. Still scored a lazy susan and an icecream maker though

southern fried chicken salad for lunch (feck it) and then chicken stir fry for tea, I will be laying egss tonight but so what.

BudaisintheZONE · 20/05/2010 13:07

Oh God Aitch! That lovely dress looks hideous on her!!!! That's put me right off.

Well DS is now in school. Kept him off this morning as he was so miserable and bunged up last night and his teacher phoned at around 11.30 to see what was wrong and would he be well enough to go in this afternoon as they are doing a special lesson all to do with the camp they go on next week and she didn't want him to miss it. Am torn between thinking how nice it was of her to worry and want him to be there and wondering if they are fed up with the amount of school he has missed so far this year! She also mentioned that he missed a maths test this morning.

BariatricObama · 20/05/2010 13:41

hmmm. that link forces the difficult question. is it really a lovely dress?

Aitch · 20/05/2010 13:45

it does look awful on her, however... i am heartened by the fact that the pattern is wonk, as was not fully in love with the rorschach pattern thing they appear to have in the main pics. i prefer abstract. and the waist isn't nipped in, as it seems to be in the pic, which is good... but yes it does look SHIT on the model, doesn't it?

dinkystinky · 20/05/2010 14:35

After being Biffy the chewit slayer yesterday, I am Zona Warrior Princess today. Pilates in morning, porridge and skinny latte for breakfast, tiny weeny sashimi and green tea and edamame over lunch at jap restaurant with friend, fruit salad for pm snack and aubergine, tomato, philadelphia light and home made breadhcrumbs concoction for dinner tonight.

Aitch - hmm, definitely try the dress on. Doesnt work on the model - maybe designed for different figure type

dinkystinky · 20/05/2010 14:36

Re wedding lists - we had 2 weddings so had a normal list AND had a Sting type list where guests could give money to charideeeeeee instead. Still ended up with a plethora of fruit bowls and salad bowls for some reason..

Aitch · 20/05/2010 15:04

lol at sting list.

VoulezVouzCrochezAvecJACK · 20/05/2010 15:41

Whose idea was it to have extra hot salsa to stop you biffing loads? I put some ona salad with my southern fried chicken and have burnt my mouth. Too hot!

My legs are really hurting now. Am sucha wuss. Going to do abs dvd after girls have gone to bed, which will be early today as they have nboth been up in the night and i have had enough

DukesOfTripHazard · 20/05/2010 15:50

Jack I think you've been brill doing all this exercise and healthy eating while all ill.

KUDOS.

BudaisintheZONE · 20/05/2010 15:56

I agree Dukes. I have been crap at exercise. Jack just gets on and does it. Take a pat on the back Jack!

Aitch · 20/05/2010 15:58

oh yes am v impressed with jack's zonereffic-ness.

dinkystinky · 20/05/2010 16:10

Jack - warm bath and a good stretch (hold for 20 seconds then try and stretch abit more - total 50 secs in each stretch) should sort your legs out. Also impressed with your exercising while ill but please dont over do it and be uber ill on your birthday = not good!
