fruit is good carbs though undertone not nasty refined bloaty carbs

dinkystinky · 24/05/2010 21:38

Ah, didnt realise you were lo-carbing Undertone - Aitch is following a modified version I think. She's the bunny to talk to.

FWIW I suspect that certain fruit isnt particularly carb filled - like satsumas or grapes - but am not following low carb.

Undertone · 24/05/2010 21:43

Well... low carbing with weetabix...

After nearly two months dieting I have lost weight but my stomach is still disproportionately bloat a licious. I read that some people just don't suit low cal and need low carb to really shift it.

WilfShelf · 24/05/2010 21:44

Most fruit is quite high in carbs, so are tomatoes, carrots, peas, onions. But obv yes, if you're just cutting out processed and white carbs s'a good idea to eat fruit. But for a low carb diet (like Atkins or IPD) they recommend not eating too much in the active weight loss bit. Berries tend to be lowest ' strawberries, raspberries, berries IIRC. And some kinds of melon, but not others.

JackBauer · 24/05/2010 21:51

I am low carbing apart from breakfast (muesli) but am ignoring fruit being carby.
I am just not having the 'real' carbs, how can fruit be bad? I will not heaar it.

2 fishfingers
4 smiley faces (well the girls weren't eating them)
1 creme egg
most of a box of mikado
chip shop chips.

Fucking useless.

Tomorrow I am in teh ZONE.
Anf FIL is coming to stay so it will not be fun.

Undertone · 24/05/2010 21:52

Well - I won't ditch the fruit just yet. I'll do a couple of weeks of this and see how I get on.

I have baked a skinless chicken breast for lunch tomorrow. Done some broccoli and roasted a pepper to go with it. Whack some jalapenos on and bob's your proverbial.

Sorry for replies taking so long, m 'h', 'n' and 'y' keys have suddenly gone on the blink, and I'm having to copy and paste them in after typing. Aargh.

JackBauer · 24/05/2010 22:01

uder, we can understand sue, we can cope without h, n and y.
Unless you want to know about honey. That woudl be confusing.

Aitch · 24/05/2010 22:02

and WHERE is my chart, undertone? don#t bother copying and pasting, my apostrophe is ropey and my y is temperamental, just sail through...

Undertone · 24/05/2010 22:04

OK - ere is wat I soud like witout aforemetioed letters.

Aitc - sed me our blimmi stats ad I'll do a cart

JackBauer · 24/05/2010 22:05

Are you drinking enough water, under?
On days when I drink loooooooots of water then I do feel less bloated. I hate it when my mum is right

Undertone · 24/05/2010 22:11

I have two cans of diet coke a day, five or more large glasses of water and two cups of green tea at work, and then at least a litre of sparkling water when I get home.

I feel like I never stop peeing.

Aitch · 24/05/2010 22:14

tsk at diet coke
i think my heaviest was 12 8, and my lowest (which i am a coupla pounds above thanks to weekend booze fest) is probably 11 2. and i'm 5'5 but not sure if it's relevant.

JackBauer · 24/05/2010 22:15

You are typing like a cockney!
Okay, you is drinking enough (but enough witht eh diet coke)

Undertone · 24/05/2010 22:15

OK doke. Will sed troug cart tomorrow. I'm off to bed. Watc tis space

Undertone · 24/05/2010 22:17

Or a frog wit a cold!

DukesOfTripHazard · 25/05/2010 07:52

ducky I thought your glads were beeyootiful. (if rather impractical what with the nude suede) Really lovely.

Lvoe those purple Dotty p ones too, Sarah.

cocolepew · 25/05/2010 07:53

oh I like the silver shoes.

The end of Lost was shite I can't believe I watched it for years, for them to end it like that.

DH said he felt violated

BudaisintheZONE · 25/05/2010 07:53

Morning all.

It was a holiday here yesterday so DH was around and I didn't get on puter much.

Was in zone. Granola for brekky. 1 and a half slices of rye bread for lunch with hummus and half a slice of cheese. Dinner was roast lamb, some lentil salad, some feta dip, and some nutty pomegranate salad. Twas delish. Oh - afternoon snack was some flaxseed tortillas with salsa. Pre dinner snack was one cheese and onion crisp nibbled slowly!

Undertone - I find that Weetabix makes me starving later. If you are trying to low carb maybe switch to a wheat free cereal - porridge maybe? I find wheat bloats me. I am doing no shite carbs - so nothing made with flour or sugar - no white carbs really. Am having granola or porridge for breakfast mostly. Am having rye bread. Am also eating pulses. No other carbs.

Jack - glad you and DH made up.

Aitch - shame about that dress! It looked so lovely.

bobbiewickham · 25/05/2010 07:56

I'm struggling.

Back up to 11st 11. Started at 11st 12.

I just don't know what to do with myself. Am eating like a newborn baby, just constantly having to have something in my mouth.

What am I going to do?

I might have to buy a dummy.

cocolepew · 25/05/2010 07:58

My mate eats weetabix like bread, with butter and jam on them.

DukesOfTripHazard · 25/05/2010 08:42

Bobbie we need to sort you out. Are you stressed at the moment? Do you do much exercise? I am finding this weather makes me want to biff on bread and brown stuff. Why is that? I actually had oily hands from some prawn party shit stuff on Sat. Oily hands? When was the last time that happened?

Buda your grub sounds like good stuff.

JackBauer · 25/05/2010 09:41

oh bobs, that doesn't sound good. Are you due on? that always makes me biff.
Who does the shopping in your house? For a week or so can you only buy food online so you can make sure thee isn;t anything tempting in the house?
I need to get back in the zoooone. Not going out this afternoon, will throw girls into garden and tidy house before FIL gets here, not that he will cae but I will.
tomato and basil susoup for lunch and tea along with a small bowl of bolognese, DH and FIL are having jamie's lasagne.

I will be staying at FIL's this weekend which is going to be a major issue as I have no clue what food there is. urk.

dinkystinky · 25/05/2010 10:00

Bobs - how are you sleeping? Are you not drinking enough water? Bored again? Any of the above can make you biff out. I think we need to get you on a plan you can stick to. So you can plan what you're eating - including snacks - and stick to it. Once you lose the guilt you will lose the weight
Have you done WW or slimming world before and did it work for you? If so, I suggest you rejoin - between a set up plan and support group of shock horror real life people and the virtual diet nazis on this thread, we'll definitely get you to the weight you want my friend. Of course if you really are eating like a newborn you could go on the Jennifer Aniston baby food diet - where you eat jars of that disgusting mush - but doesnt sound like much fun.... And your scales may be lying - yesterday I was 10 stone 9lbs today I am apparently 10 stone 5 lbs. I'm listening to my trousers instead...

Dukes - that oily hands line reminds me of the Simpsons episode when Homer was trying to put on weight to get disability pay for being fat. In the words of Dr Nick "if you rub it on some paper and it makes the paper see through, you can eat it" - if you want to be biffer buffer that is

Aitch · 25/05/2010 10:04

oh bobs, that is dispiriting. i went through a week or so of that as well, in fact have lost and gained the same couple of pounds for a month now. i simply MUST get back on that downward trajectory. and so must you. step away from the cheesy balls.

cornsilkcottagecheese · 25/05/2010 10:13

Jack how did you manage to biff a creme egg? They aren't even in the shops. That's extreme biffing. I've had weetabix and I'm bloody starving now. Back to porridge tomorrow. I once lost loads of weight with heinz tomato soup.Might have to try that again as I am stalling myself. Will have to resist dipping toast though.
