I am so tired this moring, spent 4 hours in DD2's bed AGAIN afetr she wouldn't SHUT UP.
Tuesday is my danger day as I come home after dropping DD1 off adn do housework, which means being in and around the kitchen all day. eek.

isthatporridgeinyourzone · 11/05/2010 08:24

foof?

Sure I had a cat called that once.

VoulezVouzCrochezAvecJACK · 11/05/2010 08:33

Yay buda!

chibi · 11/05/2010 09:22

I nearly posted on that shiney thread can they DO that

brrr report hell all of that is over by the time I come back from mat leave thank heavens

I ate risotto last night and it was lovely but now feel a bit guilty as I have been low carbing and risotto is ultracarb crumbs

Welcome portandblackrat

jack your playgroup pal is a turkey you have done amazingly in 3 weeks

VoulezVouzCrochezAvecJACK · 11/05/2010 09:55

The thing is, if you ahdn't paid attention to what a porker I was a month ago you might not notice the difference now. I'm still size 20, but fuck her.

Onto more important things, like what shiney thread?

dinkystinky · 11/05/2010 10:07

Haha - love that my MamaG report was so spot on. My reports used to say that Dinky is a very bright child but too quiet and retiring - that was in the days before I discovered my strident side and the WWW of course

Lol at Aitch the food snob. Chibi - given all the exercise you're doing, carbs are a good thing to have in moderation - and risotto once in a while is a great thing (and so delicious).

Coco - yet again your post made me spit out my drink (latte this time - skinny of course) across the keyboard.

Porridge - dont you have a holiday coming up? Come on girl, back in the zone with you. Shred, shred, shred and zone, zone, zone. Porridge - not podge. Ok? Re Nails - mine are ok but I get a lot of calcium and healthy oils (via pumpkin seeds etc.) in my diet. Have you tried supplements (like perfectil) or rubbing almond oil into the nails?

Su - STEP AWAY FROM THE FOOD YOU BIFFER OR YOU'LL TURN INTO A BUFFER. Come back to us - you know it makes sense.

CheeeseOnToast · 11/05/2010 10:09

I'm in the zone today. Truly. I will NOT be beaten by my flab.

I'm going to go to the gym in my lunchbreak, do a half hour run, quick shower then back to work, grabbing some soup en route. Should be a breeze compared to my 10k on Sunday (which no one has commented on, BTW!!)

Yeah su, put the biffage down and rejoin the thread properly. Jack, the heifer is definitely jealous. In her face. You'll be laughing last.

dinkystinky · 11/05/2010 10:10

Hurrah Cheese - how's the new job going? Well done with your 10k - good time btw. Thought that when read your post but we all chat so much I generally forget what I was going to post by the time I get round to the add your message here box.

Aitch · 11/05/2010 10:14

i do think that a lot of people are threatened when you go on a diet, and process it as 'but what does this mean for ME?' regardless of whether they actually know you or not. it's really interesting...

VoulezVouzCrochezAvecJACK · 11/05/2010 10:18

Cheese, you attention seeker, well done on 10k, took me 40 minutes to do a 5k, 10k is but a distant dream!

chibi · 11/05/2010 10:20

10k cheese wow!!!! You are my hero! I have changed my running music - what do you listen to when you run (or are you hardcore and go without)

The shiney thread has the same name as us but with shiney instead of slim and it's in CAPS too

v confusing

chibi · 11/05/2010 10:23

V true about feeling threatened I think it makes them take a hard look at themselves so to speak

a friend had this when she gave up smoking people kept trying to get her to smoke it was ludicrous

by the time I quit if course no one I knew smoked anymore arf

Aitch · 11/05/2010 10:24

oh very well done, cheeese. where are you based? there was a big 10k here on Sunday.

ReshapeWhileDamp · 11/05/2010 11:05

Didn't see Cheeese's 10 K. Am in awe - that's what fit, thin people do, isn't it?

I just had my scan and everything is fine in there! Am gobsmacked, had prepared for another mc.

Bloody hell, we're (probably) having a Christmas baby...

smallishsheep · 11/05/2010 11:07

Yay! COngratulations
You see, baby's in the ZONE

Aitch · 11/05/2010 11:09

oh how utterly LOVELY. well done, reshape.

dinkystinky · 11/05/2010 11:13

Ah, that's wonderful news Reshape. Was wondering how your scan went. Lovely news!

CheeeseOnToast · 11/05/2010 11:16

aah well done Reshape, congrats. How exciting!

Aitch I'm based in London but I did the Bristol 10k - I have family there and we all did it together. Very proud of my mum - she's 26 years older than me and did it in 1hr8mins! Go mum.

Chibi, I don't use music to run to. I find it distracting (always stopping to change the music etc) and I also like to be completely aware of my surroundings . I generally run through parks or pavements around London and need want to hear if any rabid dogs are bounding towards me or if a car is screeching onto the pavement. I need to be pretty aware really. BUT when I'm in the gym I do like the odd toonage otherwise I get bored. I like Arctic Monkeys and The Killers and anything like that to run to, don't like dance music. What do you listen to?

DarrellRivers · 11/05/2010 11:33

Keep running Jack

Wonderful news reshape

I went out for supper last night and had salmon and lots of lettuce, water and a fruit tea infusion
Amazingly I didn't miss the biffing (but had had a biscuit and small amount of chocolate before going as thought that would be more measured biffing)
worked v well

Am feeling very zone-like, my body is a temple blah de blah
Have just been to Ikea and am going to zone the whole house now

chibi · 11/05/2010 11:48

I was listening to the ramones great beat to run to

When I needed extra oomph I would wheeze along to the lyrics under my breath

I am all ramonsed out after 2+ months am now using dance remixes

I always think it's the real runners who go tuneless

I am a running dilettante

VoulezVouzCrochezAvecJACK · 11/05/2010 11:52

Oh great news reshape, congrats

Def true about the feelign threatened thing, I know my good friends by those that just support and say well done without trying to undermine, pta coffee thing again tomorrow so am ready for them to start offering choc like last week

I find it really hard to run without music, but when I did my 5k my bossy sister ran with me and wouldn't let me run with any, was weird. I use it to distract me and to keep some sort of pace going, normally have rock on so I can sing along and not notice how crap I feel! I have The Who, Stones, and then some cheese from Journey and Europe. Can't do base beats (like that awful couch to 5k podcast, good podcast, terrible music)

Aitch · 11/05/2010 11:55

i know. i really really want some geek mn husband to re-do that podcast with decent choons on it...

smallishsheep · 11/05/2010 12:42

I cannot do running. My excuse is weak joints rather than laziness. That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.
I may take up cycling though. I just went to the cycling shop in town to have a new tyre put on my jogging buggy (the irony) and my my, those cycling fellows are very easy on the eye. I bet they could teach me a thing or two, fnar fnar.
I will stop lowering the tone now. Am off out with said jogging buggy for a good fast walk before school pickup.

smallishsheep · 11/05/2010 12:44

Although, remind me to comment on the friends feeling threatened thing when I come back. Have some v useful observations

ReshapeWhileDamp · 11/05/2010 12:58

I need to get going with the gentle exercise now I know I've got something to look after aside from my biff'd bod. At the moment, pushing DS in the buggy up the mild incline home is making me need a lie-down when we get in, so it might have to wait until the mythical energy surge in a few weeks.

Aitch, you must not use the half-gallon of olive oil in ratatouille that I do! I'd never thought of it as diet food because mine is so oily. It's the bloody aubergines - they're like sponges.
