Ignire talk of bottom-things

I'm reading a book called death on the Ice about Capt Scott's last expeditions. Novel. Is DEVASTATING - Taff Evans has carked it on the way back from the Pole and Capt Oates is about to go out of the tent...

BariatricObama · 16/04/2010 11:02

gherkin i can't bear stuff like that.

BudaisintheZONE · 16/04/2010 11:03

No scales here at my parents so no weigh in today. Glad really as last night's pasta is still in situ! I can see it in my huge stomach - was much flatter yesterday.

Just had porridge made by my Dad, half a slice of brown soda toasted and lots of tea.

Am also def stuck here now till Monday. DS very happy to be missing school.

Am about to shower and then may go for a walk. Maybe I should walk first? Yes. That is what i will do.

ReshapeWhileDamp · 16/04/2010 11:14

Buda - at least there does seem to be some movement from Irish airports this morning. Probably not east though, given that Sophia airport closed now too. Hope you make the most of your extended stay and enjoy it.

Well done, losers.

I just weighed in at 10st 3! Granted, scales are 1 pound less than WW ones, but last weighed at 10st 6 (adjusted for 1 lb anomally) therefore have lost 3 this week.

Start weight (with weightwatchers, November)
11 stone 4lb.
Current weight: 10 stone 4lb.
Total loss: 1 stone.

now I'd like to try to take it to 9.7.

whoohoo for reshape. you are my inspiration!

bobbiewickham · 16/04/2010 11:21

A stone!

Well done Reshape - you are living up to your name!

ReshapeWhileDamp · 16/04/2010 11:40

Yes, but the stone is since I started WW in NOVEMBER, not since I started on this thread about 4/5 weeks ago! But thanks, I will take praise and encouragement any way I can get it.

Doesn't seem like I'm pregnant this month either, so I've got another month to keep hacking away. V motivated by stretch-marks not getting any worse.

cyb · 16/04/2010 11:48

yes reshape that is great. talking of books I am reading Keeper that MN recommended one about Altzheimers. tis very good indeed (altho I must admit I skip read all the technical brain stuff zzz)

Reshape's Done The Stone!!!! Excellent work.

Love this thread. Something about 'Well done losers' makes he larf.

Thanks for re-reading Bobbie. Means I don't hhave to do a 'when I said (x) I meant (y) not (z). I've just read Mantel's memoir. I really like her writing. Wolf Hall next.

Bursting with toilet talk but will button it. I wish I went every day and am so jealous of everyone who does.

cyb · 16/04/2010 11:53

I know I am eating too much if I do 2 mamag's in a day

OP posts:
bobbiewickham · 16/04/2010 11:54

Oh, the Keeper?

I went to a book signing for that (in a professional capacity).

Seemed interesting, but a bit close to home for me to read at mo (fil died of AD not too long ago).

No prob, ZoneA - I hate getting the wrong end of the stick.

Wolf Hall really very good. Am developing unlikely crush on Thomas Cromwell [shallow emoticon]

bobbiewickham · 16/04/2010 11:55

I'm MamaGeeing for England since I've been zoning. I think it's the branflakes and all the veg.

ZoneArmatrading · 16/04/2010 11:55

Buda is answering her own questions so is probably on walk not in shower.

Just completed 'change from £10.00' style homework with DD1. They're taught maths in such a lovely elastic lateral way these days aren't they? Bless her though she struggles and gets sidetracked just like I used to. My mental maths is pretty good now. But to my shame, Unclassified at O'level followed by F for retake. Improvement, non?

ZoneArmatrading · 16/04/2010 11:57

I am the provider of wrong ended sticks a bit too often. I should be clearer, generally. Am a writer ffs.

bobbiewickham · 16/04/2010 11:57

I took my maths GCSE four times.

E, D, D then finally, at the last possible minute, C.

Getting that C was probably one of my greatest achievements.

Needed it to teach.

bobbiewickham · 16/04/2010 11:58

Nah, it's me. I think I puked a bit of my brain out.

What sort of writer?

ZoneArmatrading · 16/04/2010 12:02

I'm proper impressed by the C. Nearly re-did it not long ago with mate who was thinking of teaching. She likes to smug me about it now it's under her belt.

TV. Mainly for the kiddies, animation and live action comedy stuff. Try and get adult things off the ground but nowt yet.

ZoneArmatrading · 16/04/2010 12:04

Weird. Suddenly fancy a fag. Haven't smoked in 6 years.

Thirsty? I bet it's thirsty.

bobbiewickham · 16/04/2010 12:04

Wow. Am starting an MA in Writing for Performance and Publication in Sept.

I'd love to be a writer...well, I'd love to get paid for it.

cyb · 16/04/2010 12:07

zone are you breathing in volcanic ash and its tricking your taste buds? close your windows quick

OP posts:
ZoneArmatrading · 16/04/2010 12:10

MA sounds brilliant. You are stonking writer.

Have to say, last few months I feel the same re: getting paid for it. Have been doing lots of development of own projects and spec storylining. But previous two years were good so not too terrible financially. Finally working on two proper script commissions, big relief. Also much more communication and contact when you're writing things that are actually going to happen.

BudaisintheZONE · 16/04/2010 12:21

No walk. Wore new shoes yesterday and got a blister on side of ankle. Put trainers on and they rub in JUST that spot. typical.

Am about to wash floors for my Dad instead. That will burn some calories.

Put a wash on and went to get it to hang out and realised I hadn't actually switched the damn machine on.

Reshape - well done on that stone!!!!!!!!!

ZoneArmatrading · 16/04/2010 12:22

Ha! Yes it could be volcanic ash.

MrsShu · 16/04/2010 12:23
