Well done everyone on losses.

I cant eat fruit as a snack in between meals now on strict instructions of my dentist who I dreamt about last night (I feel he's watching me)

what would you recommend instead? oatcakes? cube of cheese? more ideas.....

BudaisintheZONE · 10/04/2010 08:23

Oatcakes are good. I like them with hummus or a banana. Cubes of cheese are good too but small amounts. Strips of pepper dipped in hummus. Ryvita type crackers with cream cheese or peanut butter. A mug of veg soup.

ReshapeWhileDamp · 10/04/2010 08:26

Celery and carrot sticks? Japanese rice crackers? Blardy corn thins...?

cyb · 10/04/2010 08:30

carrots yes, I should have a stock of ready peeled batons for when I get the urge. DOnt like celery unless its 'in stuff'

corn thins...well I bought them..and we are using them as coasters...vile

mrsjuan · 10/04/2010 08:34

crudites. I love that word.
raw broccoli and cauliflower florets,
yoghurt, small bowl of cereal?
Easy on the cheese.

I am still 9st6 this morning - lowest since I got pregnant with DD 18 months ago - v happy with this thread!

cyb · 10/04/2010 09:33

we call them cru-dytes

ok todays meals

greek yog ,grapes ,1/2 babana

luch prob cold chicken maybe a few salado bits (doesnt fill me with glee tbh)

tea, I might make Su's trademark curry parsnip soup, have a tonne of them in the cupboard

dinkystinky · 10/04/2010 10:23

Cyb - carrots have loads of sugar in them for veg am afraid. Celery good or oatcakes with miniscule cubes of cheese or reduced fat houmous or philadelphia type stuff on them. Maybe a handful of nuts (cashew nuts or walnuts)? Cherry tomatoes and cucumber are ok too. Just make sure you drink loads of water after whatever you eat to try to flush the food particles away from mouth.

Reshape - look at your measurements - bet you've reduced those even if scales not moving as fast as you'd like. I am.. drumroll please... in a pair of size 10 trousers this morning (and they're primark ones so proper size 10 as the store is too stingy to cut extra material to make them any bigger than they need to be) and they fit fine. Now just have to work on firming up the jelly belly bit...

Fishie - so sorry to hear about your CM's baby. Hope she and her baby are ok and back home soon.

Su - you are the model of restraint with your meal last night (apart from the wine of course). Have got a cook yourself thin book (remember that C4 programme years ago) with some yummy not totally ridiculous calorie wise desserts in it - can post some on here if you guys are in desperate need of puddings. There is a bannoffee pudding they do with a gingernut biscuit, spoon of dulche de leche, banana and total 0 which is yum (but disappears in a nanosecond)...

ReshapeWhileDamp · 10/04/2010 10:40

Dinky - I can't remember what I was, the last time I measured! The problem is, I've got such a horrible untoned tummy (I'm a shortarse and when I was pregnant, the bump had nowhere to but out, so I looked full-term from about 5 months, and now have a nice souvenir of a saggy pouch full of stretchmarks ) that I think it continues to sag even as I lose weight.

at Size 10 trousers. Are you sure you need to be on this thread?

Cyb - Carrots are 0 points on WW if that makes you feel better about the sugar?

ReshapeWhileDamp · 10/04/2010 10:41

Sorry, didn't realise the potential problem with carrots for Cyb's teeth. Did the dentist tell you not to eat fruit because of the sugar, or the acid?

cyb · 10/04/2010 11:35

'tis the sugar. sugar sugar sugar. He said it makes no difference if you have 1 teaspoon on your tea or 10 if you have sugar in between meals your teeth will end up like mine

(I dont have sugar in my tea FWIW)

I do eat raisins and stuff tho...that will ahve to stop.

But the wtaer idea is good, I need to up my intake

SuSylvester · 10/04/2010 12:42

MIL very nice about changed shape
although i think inwardly cross

mrsjuan · 10/04/2010 12:51

result su

cyb · 10/04/2010 13:56

Su she is clearly a feeder. Just like my mother..'make sure you dont get too thin...you don't NEEd to lose any weight...more arctic roll, anyone?'

SuSylvester · 10/04/2010 13:57

lol
ambis oookinglemon drizzle and couscous
how does cous cosu rate as a ww food?
had greek salad for lunch
om nom
that was IT though and was faced wiht cheese yum rolls etc

SuSylvester · 10/04/2010 13:57

am busy
not ambis

cyb · 10/04/2010 13:59

well I reckon its not too bad...I dont do WW as you know but recall it being mentioned in a low GI cook book thingy...or was that taboulleh?

dinkystinky · 10/04/2010 13:59

Hurrah for pissing off MIL su - keep up the good work. DH (or rather DH's hangover) just dragged us off to nandos where i was most virtuous and had a chicken wrap and a glass of wine while my boys (well DH and DS, DS1 who eats like a stick insect at the best of time looked on in horror mostly) trogged their way through whole chickens, chips and those godawful bean things and coleslaw.

Reshape - am the same. Am 5ft 4 but v short body. Both pregnancies I looked like I had a space hopper stuffed down my top by the end (honestly, when I was pregnant with DS1 and walking along the street BUSES used to stop and ask if I needed a ride anywhere as I looked so ridiculously pregnant) and my middle is definitely my most problematic area. I'm finding a combination of bodycombat/kickboxing workout and pilates is slowly dragging the gut back in but it has an annoying tendency to want to pop back out damn it. Never had the apple shape issue pre-kids. Another side effect of pregnancy no one warns you about.

SuSylvester · 10/04/2010 14:02

got tops shop marthas out of loft( as are too short to wear in winter)
god are the best comfist jeans

SuSylvester · 10/04/2010 14:03

love nandos
surely grilled chickena dn salad ok?

dinkystinky · 10/04/2010 14:04

just checked su - small cooked portion is 1 ww point.

Cyb - my mother is the ultimate feeder. Not content with feeding us up when we visit her, she sends fatty foodparcels back home with us (when I was at university, she sent enough to feed my corridor in halls for a couple of days - and that was just meant for me) and brings food with her (cooked in ghee of course) when she comes to stay - not for her, for us...

dinkystinky · 10/04/2010 14:06

grilled chicken and salad ok - but the chips, coleslaw and beans thing not so good for the zone....

love topshop jeans - but can only wear bootcut ones due to freakily huge calves...

cyb · 10/04/2010 14:07

I wish your mum was my mum dinky. My mum sends us percy Pigs and cheese dippers

SuSylvester · 10/04/2010 14:08

thansk dS

dinkystinky · 10/04/2010 14:12

Lol at the percy pig and cheese dippers care parcels!

ReshapeWhileDamp · 10/04/2010 16:52

Cyb - it's obv not a dieting food, but apparently eating a bit of cheese after a sugary meal is really good for your teeth. Here

My mother's been telling me this for months - trying to get me to give DS a cube of cheese after his lunch, or after an apple. I was very and now a bit .
