SuSylvester · 10/04/2010 20:57

I haev either cooked o rsat on arse chatting while dh was on blardy laptop.

cyb · 10/04/2010 20:58

coco despite tunnocks teackae an da smidge of Easter egg I reckon virtaully cuttting out sugar has done me the world of good. The shadows under my eyes are MUCh less pronounced, I wake up refreshed instead of knackered and have loads more energy

Just off to put my jim jams on

cocolepew · 10/04/2010 21:04

I'll have to give it a go tbh, I was reading the aspartme (sp) thread as well. I drink pints of juice a day. I've been under awful mental strain since November, DD has had very serious MH issues, so the stress isn't helping. But I think I need to get mentally and physically better.

[looks forlornly at wotsits]

cyb · 10/04/2010 21:08

you will be doing your body a favour if you cut out sugar as much as poss.

It is hard at the start, but only for about a week.

I am finding anything with sugar in soo sickly sweet which is amzing as i used to be Mrs Sweet tooth.

But I cant afford to be that anymore, for my gnashers or my waistline.

we can support each other! Lets have a sugarholics anonymous meeting. you can email me anytime you feel the urge

cocolepew · 10/04/2010 21:13

I've done it before so I need to steel my resolve. Would fruit be ok? I'm the same as you, I stopped all sugar once and the dentist told me off [. There's no way she believed I wasn't eating a quater of bonbons every night.

I have dark circles and I've noticed my eyes have got puffy, and I'm retained loads of fluid. I'm a catch and a half.

SuSylvester · 10/04/2010 21:22

i think the reason my loss has stopped is because my picking had increased.
the odd tiny tast of eomthing - even if ti is tiny its still NOT diety#

am resolving to be stricter tomorrow at a balrdy rugby festival ALL DAY from 8 am

NomDePlume · 10/04/2010 22:43

ReshapeWhileDamp · 10/04/2010 23:34

lol at 'tipsdy'! You need it with PIL sometimes. Especially in the face of such sterling support from one's DP...

BudaisintheZONE · 11/04/2010 06:43

LOL Nom! Hope head is ok this morning!

Morning everyone! Chop chop! Up and at it! I was up with the sodding dog so you lot should be too.

Weighed myself and down 2lbs on yesterday!!! Getting rid of the poundage that I put on while in Croatia. 4 of the 5.5 pounds now gone. I think some of it must have been fluid retention due to period from hell.

I am flying to Dublin tonight though. So there will be some temptation but I will resist. Don't want to spend next week trying to shift the same few pounds as I have already shifted this week and two weeks ago! And I want to get under 16 stone. 5lbs to go.

I was good all day yesterday. Breakfast was slice of rye bread with a small amount of peanut butter, a Babybel and an apple. Lunch was home made carrot and lentil soup and a few falafel with low fat yoghurt and a half teaspoon of mint sauce mixed in. Nibbled on a few more falafel in teh afternoon along with some soya/flaxseed tortilla chips, some grapes and a handful of peanuts. Dinner was spag bol but I only had the bol. Had 3 or 4 white wine sodas.

Def feeling more in control of my eating which is good. Don't feel deprived. No cravings for anything really. If i feel hungry I eat but something sensible rather than 6 or 7 biscuits or a sandwich or some crisps.

Themasterandmargaritas · 11/04/2010 07:40

I think you are all having an effect on me. I went out for lunch yesterday and had chips and sweet potato cakes. It made me feel bloated and yeuky I had to come home to do a MamaG to flush it all out.

So for supper I ate mushrooms then melon. Yes coco real melon.

Next thing you know I'll be buying scales.

Off for a picnic today in the national park with the lions and rhinos.

dinkystinky · 11/04/2010 08:52

Morning all. Another glorious day here - off out for lunch with the kids near Coram's fields today -DS1 desperately wants to go to strada to have pizza (one of the very few foodstuffs he willingly eats - that and bread). Sigh. May need to stick to a couple of slices of margharita and a vat glass of wine.

Coco - bet you'll find your skin looks tonnes better if you cut out the sugar. I think fruit should be ok - certainly healthier for you than processed sugar - and saves you from going totally sugar cold turkey. Sorry to hear about your worries about DD though - am a comfort/emotional eater so I sympathise totally with seeking refuge in the wotsits and doubledeckers when times get tough.

Master - where on earth do you live? I'd be slightly concerned about picnicing in a lion and rhino infested area...

BudaisintheZONE · 11/04/2010 08:56

TheMaster - just be sure you don't become the picnic!

AitchTwoZone · 11/04/2010 09:46

ach don't worry, all you need to do is outrun the kids.

ReshapeWhileDamp · 11/04/2010 10:11

We had a picnic yday but the only wildlife we attracted was a very badly trained dog who was after DS's sausages.

Picnic was approximately healthy although I did gobble three sweet potato falafels. Today - roast chicken lunch, I'll have celeriac mash although increasingly tempted by Aitch's bean mash. Do you need any oil in that?

AitchTwoZone · 11/04/2010 10:14

if you're low carbing then go for it with some olive oil. put a fair slug in a non stick pan and veeeeeeeeeery gently poach some thin slices of garlic in them, then beans then mash 'em.

AitchTwoZone · 11/04/2010 10:16

oh, and some sea salt and a squish of lemon.
actually i make this often but barely mash it, just knock it back with the wooden spoon a bit, then serve with nibbly things and tuna salad for a lunch. it's very moreish. italians often serve it with their fried fish, their version of fish and chips.

BudaisintheZONE · 11/04/2010 10:25

Must try that mash. It sounds yummy. Another nice mash is cauliflower. Totally yummy but you do need to do it in a food processor. I have had it on Atkins when I was using unlimited butter and cream but haven't had it recently. Must try it again with less fat. Some nice olive oil and salt and pepper and maybe some low fat cream cheese might be nice.

AitchTwoZone · 11/04/2010 10:42

is it really yummy? i might give it a try, i can't say i'm convinced but the more i'm cutting back carbs the more i'm thinking i want to make these changes for the girls as well. there will be no harm in their not having potatoes as often imo.
