noddyholder · 12/04/2010 19:41

real hardcore atkins is brilliant for shifting the lbs but it is NOT sustainable

SuSylvester · 12/04/2010 19:41

its also bad really inst it

NomDePlume · 12/04/2010 19:44

hiya slimsters

good, zoney day today. Although I am still carbing, seems I am one of the last few. 18.5 ww pts today.

Today's food

Breakfast - Kelloggs Nutrigrain bar (blueberry)
Lunch - egg salad sandwich on virtuous bread
Dinner - Quorn pie (yes, pie) with corn on the cob, brocolli, carrots & sprig greens.

noddyholder · 12/04/2010 19:45

well it puts you into ketosis which is not good for the body in the long term.I am finding this calorie restriction quite easy i don't do a lot of carbs but a tiny bit ok.

CDMforever · 12/04/2010 19:52

Best recent approach to weight loss for me was a dose of gastro enteritis. Worked wonders and lost 6lb in 2 days!! Fantastic! Then Easter happened and am now back to original weight. Feeling slim definitely felt so much better than anything I could have tasted IFYKWIM!!

hardcore atkins is not a good thing for your body - mucks up your digestive system something chronic and really isnt sustainable long term. Much better to make lifestyle and diet changes which are sustainable to achieve weightloss you can keep going with.

Gonna have a tuna steak and salad for dinner tonight and no booze until the weekend. I'm one of those who doesnt carb in the evening - purely because it ends up bloating me up.

Passay · 12/04/2010 19:57

lol at porridge

NomDePlume · 12/04/2010 19:57

Ketosis is appalling.

I know cutting carbs is good for quick weight loss but it can be so dangerous. I know it's boring and it's slow but the only real way to lose weight and keep it off and STAY healthy (genetics and environment not permitting), is to do potion control, a balanced diet incorporating all the major food groups (haribo and wotsits are not a food group) and moderate exercise. Faddy diets don't work in the long run and can do real damage.

NomDePlume · 12/04/2010 20:00

portion control.

I am not a witch

mrsjuan · 12/04/2010 20:09

like the idea of potion control.
Yes - Atkins is vile long term and leaves you feeling constantly greasy (but did work short term before my wedding )

ok - will be brave and put score up even though I am a bit disappointed at number of x s

Hi from Dublin Zoners

Apart from a little pannini shaped blip at the airport last night I am still zoning.

Bfast was half a slice of brown soda bread toast and then a bowl of porridge with soya milk and a little honey.
Then went to shopping centre and DS wanted KFC so what did i have? a coffee!
Home for lunch which was a slice of rye bread with hummus and about 4 olives followed by a banana.
Dinner was salmon and roast veg
Snack of 3 oatcakes with hummus and one glass of wine.

I saw that wii dance thing advertised and thought it might be good - will get it. Anything that gets me off my fat arse has got to be good.

Planning more zoning tomorrow.

Amnot drinking enough water though. Are YOU?

Night night for now (am mning fromj bed on my dad's laptop)

MamaGlee · 13/04/2010 06:49

Buda no I dont drink enough wayer and now my bossy dentist has vetoed anything sweet in between meals I think water is the way forward for skin, weightloss and not teeth loss.

Hey I bought my own dental mirror and pick last night .

Now all I need is one of those chairs that goes up and down and I'm ready to practice.
