Well half term is over, back to school tomorrow and Spring is in the air...time to get rid of the winter flab methinks!

I weigh 11 stone and want to be 10 by Easter (and ultimately around the 9 stone 7-10 mark) - six weeks to do 14lbs doable I think?

My reward will be lovely shopping for summer clothes.

My plan is to do HM smoothie or cereal breakfast, Soup or salad lunch and "normal" healthyish dinner (but watch the portion size on carbs. I will be trying to drink lots of water and less coffee/alcohol and exercising 3 x per week (prob be running but am considering joining a gym!!)

So anyone who fancies joining me feel free

Today: Strawb and yog smoothie/prawn salad/shepherds pie and brocolli. Might run later if it ever stops RAINING!!

Hello, can i join?

Have got half a stone left to lose, and am finding it soooo hard, have been the same weight for the past couple of weeks so action plan is:

Keep swimming two nights a week
Eat less rubbish

Am also considering joining the gym, is council one so quite cheap and no contract.

duckyfuzz · 07/03/2010 16:50

can I recommend seeds as a useful way to stop cravings and add fibre, for those who may need it?

isthatporridgeinyourhair · 07/03/2010 17:29

Hi Bird and Kurves - welcome and good luck!

Today I have done davinia (1hour), wrestled with a frisky hedge with DS1 and done some swimming - pushing DS2 up and down the pool in an inflatable ring.

Eaten boiled egg, wholewheat ham sandwich and a pear and will have chilli chicken pitta tonight for tea.

Clothes do feel looser and tum looks more toned - I'm doing the abs workout every day to try to firm up my post cs belly.

Cod/MrsP/No1 - glad to hear about the sport watchign jeans - sounds hopeful for your next weigh in - just imagine how loose they'll be whe you finally "go" - shall await developments with interest . What's the calorific content of Fybogel? I'm sure sport watching counts as exercise.

I am seriously considering Atkins if my weight doesn't start moving very soon - but it would probably play havoc with my digestive system.

PlumBumMum · 07/03/2010 18:05

Oh girls I need strength have just finished dd1s cake, have spent all day decorating it, will have to resist a big slice tomorrow

isthatporridgeinyourhair · 07/03/2010 18:45

Ok PlumBum - you do not want to eat that cake, if you do you will BE CROSS with yourself.

Repeat Cod's mantra several times "Nothing tastes as good as thin feels".

Good luck!

PlumBumMum · 07/03/2010 18:49

Have posted pic of cake, I am trying to convince myself I will not taste it

isthatporridgeinyourhair · 07/03/2010 19:00

That's looks wonderful - far too good to eat though!

Iobaby · 07/03/2010 20:17

I think everyone is doing well to stick to their guns, especially if they didn't loose last week- it's so demoralising especially if you've been good - I usually think oh well am fat anyway may as well just eat,and feel even worse after BUT you have stopped me THANK-YOU. The only thing i think is at least I'm not putting weight on, and perhaps I will get a nice suprise next time I weigh - keep up the good work as you are seeing benefits even if scales are not showing them.
Maybe stay away from scales for a couple of weeks, and go by how your clothes fit? Also muscle weighs more than fat, so if you are starting to tone up then the difference might not be as obvious when you weigh

NumberOneEnemy · 07/03/2010 20:38

tea tonihgt
bbq lamb chop
swede ( NO POINTS)
broccoli

kurves · 08/03/2010 07:17

hi girls yesturday was a struggle but i did it . Today i had
a boiled egg ,low fat hot choc, and one slice of 50/50 bread/ that was breakfast
a hour at the gym

lunch a bar cambridge and a cup of redbush tea with low suger sweetner

mid afternoon a cambridge shake

dinner;chicken breast with vegitables and sweet potatoe.

i think that today will be a lot easier as its my third day and i am also going to be very busy not at home trying to have a mental fight with the food that is in the kitchen.I

i started off at 13 stoines so i am hoping that i will be able to tip the scales at around 12 stones 10 on saturday i try to set my self a goal so i will be wortking very hard this week . I must say that i prefer this variation of the cambridge diet as i am not starving my self but making better food choices and trying to get in my vegoitables yesturday i had alot of fruit and veg.. Good luck girls.

PlumBumMum · 08/03/2010 10:21

Right I am going to do some very vigourous housework as I know I will not be able to resist tonight and dh told dd1 she could have pizza tonight so argghhhh,
and I need to go shopping no healthy snacks in, actually not much food in

MumGoneCrazy · 08/03/2010 16:28

Owwwwww is anyone else aching or is it just me?

Im usually a lazy cow only moving when i have to but this last week and a half ive been walking/jogging 3 miles a day, doing wii fitness and a workout dvd and basically doing some form of exercise throughout the day
(like using a tin of beans as weights to try tone my arms while im cooking dinner )
and im really feeling it
my thighs feel tighter, my legs ache, my tummy feels tighter and i feel more energetic

kurves · 08/03/2010 17:31

Thaty was me last week after my bums and tums class i have the wii fit plus which programe do you use.

twinkle183 · 08/03/2010 19:16

Am loving the wii fit board... have managed to do half hour today and it didn't even feel like it! My arms are absolutely killing after my weekends events but am starting to see results I think....

Am going for a run later I hope... depends on how I am feeling If not another half hour of aerobic exercise on the wii fit sounds good then some tummy and leg exercises while watching biggest loser on SkyRealLives... if that doesn't give you motivation then I don't know what does!!! lol

Have not been to go on the food front and I am too to say what I have been up to but weighted in this morning... and I am now 11st 2lbs... its finally coming off...

I agree with oibaby and am not going to weigh myself for a couple of weeks and go on how my clothes feel.... thats if I can resist!

Keep it up girlies... we can get through this

simmo39 · 08/03/2010 20:41

So far today have had -

Breakfast Nut Clusters
Handful of prawns for a snack
Tex Mex Soup for lunch
Peanut bar for a snack
Sausage casserole for dinner
and just had a handful of chocolate brazils

Yummy! I know I am paying for all these from Go Lower but the food is so tasty and still not hungry

Gonna try for a 4lb loss this week, fingers crossed. Haven't done well on the exercise front haven't left the house today! Will definitely go for a run tomorrow.

duckyfuzz · 08/03/2010 21:04

evening ladies, no aches and pains here, due to lack of exercise

So, the weight I put on last weekend is shifting now, I'm down about 5lbs on a week ago, which sounds great, but its only 3 lbs down on 2 weeks ago, which is not so good! Had a far more disciplined weekend and despite work buffet today (all day meeting, yawn!) have done ok on the whole

isthatporridgeinyourhair · 08/03/2010 21:35

Hello all and welcome to Iobaby

So far today - have done Davina (30 mins)and walked two miles, also went for a bit of RL clothes shopping - there are some lovely spring things out there now, which would look so much better if I lost a few more pounds .

Have eaten fruit/yogurt/ 2 slices of malt loaf, a pear and lamb cutlets for tea. I'm not even really hungry anymore, which I think is good

So impressed with MumGoneCrazy and her exercise regime - especially the beans! Thinking of strapping DS1/2 to my legs in an effort to feel the burn. Will attempt 1.5 hours aerobic activity tommorrow as will have more time. Does any one have personal trainer on the Wii - I've never used it and wondered if it was any good? Please tell me the instructor is hot as that would be motivation to do it?

duckyfuzz · 08/03/2010 21:43

porridge I have EA sports personal trainer for wii is that the one you mean? its very good, although I haven't actually done it for about a month! the trainer is as hot as he can be I suppose!

isthatporridgeinyourhair · 08/03/2010 21:53

Yes it is, thanks ducky - I'll have a go tommorrow. Will check out hotness of virtual trainer with interest!!

MumGoneCrazy · 08/03/2010 23:07

I only have wii fit not the plus one

I want to get another wii fitness game but dont know which one to get

Im thinking between

Wii fit plus
EA sports personal trainer/active
Your Shape
Biggest loser

I love watching the biggest loser on sky lives i've been tempted to apply for the uk one
I was looking at the form for half hour yesterday and nearly clicked apply until i seen the bit where it said information about both people applying and realised they were doing couples and i have no one that woud do it with me
that and i dont know if i could cope with leaving my kids for 8wks

Im out shopping for most of tomorrow and then have a playdate on wednesday so wont be able to do as much excerise but will still be doing lots of walking so its not like i'll be sat on my butt the whole time

kurves · 09/03/2010 06:50

i find that spinn classes are really good for weight loss and the cross trainer is good too at the gym i have a wii fit plus i am trying to get used to it but i go to the gym as well. i went on the wii fit and it said that i have a 8lb loss i felt so good about that so i will be using it to keep track of my weight.

I am off to the gym today again i think i will be going to the legs bums and tums class at 9 45 that is a tough one but i have to keep it up last time i went on the wii fit it said that i put on one pound so the cambridge diet plus seems to be working for me what is great is that i can eat a proper dinner and space out my meals through out the day.i do not think that i have stuck to a diet this long 4 DAYS WOW.

SciFiFan · 09/03/2010 20:26

Well after a weekend of being really good and doing as much exercise as possible I weighed in on Monday and had lost 1lb. I know it's not much but it boosted my motivation levels and I have been good both yesterday and today.

I have to resign myself to the fact that after week 1 I'm never a big loser just slow and steady. I can cope with that though so long as there is some downward momentum .

Keep up the good work and even if we can't lose a stone by Easter we'll all be slimmer and fitter than we were!

kurves · 09/03/2010 20:35

scifan that is good as it is so hard and at the gym remember that you build muscle so try measueing and you should see that you have lost inches.

duckyfuzz · 09/03/2010 20:35

well done scififan - and remember slow and steady is easier to maintain in the long term anyway

I really need to start doing some exercise
