Well half term is over, back to school tomorrow and Spring is in the air...time to get rid of the winter flab methinks!

I weigh 11 stone and want to be 10 by Easter (and ultimately around the 9 stone 7-10 mark) - six weeks to do 14lbs doable I think?

My reward will be lovely shopping for summer clothes.

My plan is to do HM smoothie or cereal breakfast, Soup or salad lunch and "normal" healthyish dinner (but watch the portion size on carbs. I will be trying to drink lots of water and less coffee/alcohol and exercising 3 x per week (prob be running but am considering joining a gym!!)

So anyone who fancies joining me feel free

Today: Strawb and yog smoothie/prawn salad/shepherds pie and brocolli. Might run later if it ever stops RAINING!!

YoginiBikini · 01/03/2010 19:43

It's just a way of keeping a track of loss without broadcasting to the world your true weight. Just have your starting weight as 100 and work down from there. Or just put your real weight if you like. I like to see how everyone else is doing too. Competitive supportive edge and all that

RaiseYourBerets · 01/03/2010 20:18

OH RIGHT! oh thatis a great idea
oohooh
i think i was
and have lost
so i am now
96

god i think that is great - is htat standard practice?

YoginiBikini · 01/03/2010 20:31

Hurray! you got it

Good loss too.

simmo39 · 01/03/2010 20:59

I'm at 96
Was soooo good today met my friend at MacDonalds and the kids had happy meals whilst my friend had a McChiken sandwich meal and I had a grilled chiken & Bacon salad!!! £3.59 for it aswell which I thought was a lot for little meat and loads of lettuce.
Even resisted a milkshake which I love....
Still easter is not that far away keep going strong girles

lavenderbongo · 01/03/2010 22:56

Now I understand the numbers! So I am on 98. Long way to go but not bad.

simmo39 I had a salad at Maccy Ds this weekend as well. They dont taste too bad so I guesse I can skip the Big Macs for a while - it will be worth it.

So today..
Fruity cereal
4 rice cakes, cheese and ham slices and celery.
Not sure about dinner yet - looking for inspiration.

isthatporridgeinyourhair · 01/03/2010 23:26

Hi all

Yogini - I'm at 97.5 as of Friday. Well done all on the eating and exercising.

I have done Davina, walked 2 miles and been humiliated by DS 1 on Just Dance on the Wii.

I have eaten nothing yoghurt, fruit, cereal, steak and salad and snacked on a few dried apricots.

redshoesnoknickers · 02/03/2010 07:05

I have to say I find the 90 thing a bit tricky too - might just post my actual loss next time

Yesterday was manic so I barely ate all day then had pasta with blue cheese and spinach and a few chocs for tea

Must get organised!! Today - banana smoothie/soup/falafel+pitta+salad

Must rush!

Have a good day all

Protein shake
A Clementine
Cream cheese and salmon on ryvita with cucumber sticks.

Hi ya ladies...

Well done on the weight loss we can do this...

Have been to the doctors today to find my tonsillitus has moved to my throat and I now have a bloody Streptococcal infection so am on more pills... can't believe it!!!

Have been really good today... had banana for brekkie and lunch was a tuna panini with a skinny vanilla decaf latte and then for tea a home made low fat pizza... So not too bad for a sickie...

Am going to go on the wii fit board again tonight hopefully "she says" as my bum is hurting from all the hula hooping

Keep going ladies....

Ewemoo · 02/03/2010 21:59

Weighed myself yesterday after a week of trying to lose weight and I lost 4 lbs! Hoping to keep going this week but have a night out on Saturday so might fall off the wagon!

simmo39 · 02/03/2010 22:21

Had a good day so far have eaten -

Peanut bar for brekkie
Broccoli and blue cheese soup for lunch
Beef in peppercorn sauce for dinner with LC veg
a small handful of chocolate brazils this evening and loads of water

I can't take credit for cooking any of it though it was all delivered by Go lower! Still it keeps me on track and I haven't been hungry today, oh yes I did have a handful of prawns in the afternoon as they were there in the fridage but they're allowed so that was ok!

Been a beautiful day the sun was shining, walked to school and back this afternoon so that was about 40 mins exercise and went for a 20 minute run tonight. Really hoping I can loose another 4 lb this week....

lavenderbongo · 02/03/2010 23:37

Hi all!

Well done on all the losses - ewemoo very jealous of the 4 lb in a week

Today has not been to bad so far.

fruity cereal
4 rice cakes - boiled egg and tomato
sausages + salad for tea

I have been keeping up the excercise but I am not sure its quite enough yet to really push the weight loss on. I would welcome any opinions on whether this is enough or if I should up it a bit.

At the moment I do a 10 minute jog and 20 minutes of yoga, 5 days a week.

I am hoping to up it to a 20 minute jog a few days a week soon. Do you think this excercise will make any difference or is it not enough. Please bear in mind this jog is done inside using the Wii - it is hard work but perhapes not quite as good as going on a run outside the house.

mumoverseas · 03/03/2010 06:58

morning all, well done on all the loses.

Lavender I think any excercise you can do will help. I struggle with exercise as can't do aerobics and stuff like that due to a bad back so just really doing walking and the odd bike ride. I'm tempted to treat myself to a Wii as I'm hoping I can use that when the little darlings are asleep.

Weigh in day for me and I've lost 2.5lbs, same as last week so a total of 5lbs in two weeks which I'm well chuffed with. Doing WW online and for some odd reason when I put in my weight loss it said a total of 4.9lbs to date. I know I'm rubbish at maths but even I know 2.5lbs x 2 = 5lb. I know the weight loss will ease off a bit after a few weeks but its keeping me focused and I'm determined.

Dropped DD at nursery at 8am and I often used to wander over to the shops and wait for them to open at 9am and have a coffee in Cinnabon. The last few days however I've gone out walking with DD in his pram instead for 50 mins then had a coffee (skinny latte of course) Am starting to feel so much better and I'm sure my back pain is not as bad (had major spinal fusion years ago and constantly get back pain)

Special K for brekkie and will have turkey salad roll and loads of raw veggies for lunch. DH suggested going to the restaurant tonight and I think I can cope with it and choose low(er) calorie options.

Just made a chocolate cake which is in the oven for the staff at our medical centre who were so good when DD and DS both ill a few weeks ago. Am very proud that I didn't lick the bowl, spoon or even my fingers. Normally I can't resist but I knew I had to today.

Hope everyone is doing ok x

PlumBumMum · 03/03/2010 09:51

Well done Mumoverseas,

I have dd1s birthday on Monday so will have to make cake at the weekend and we are going out for dinner will just have to keep on with trying to burn the calories although haven't down my dvd in a couple of days

mumoverseas · 03/03/2010 10:31

ooh, hope you can resist the temptation PlumBumMum. I just knew if I so much as licked my finger that would be it. In any event, I've given up chocolate for lent and that is keeping me focused. I've promised myself a chocolate buttons easter egg (a small one of course) if I keep it up (assuming of course I can get someone to smuggle one out to me)

Hope the party goes well. How old will she be?

twinkle183 · 03/03/2010 11:01

mumoverseas well done for giving chocolate up for lent... I have also! I am not doing too bad at the moment!

Have done 45 mins on the wii fit this morning and ran 2.7 miles which is great cos I am now knackered

Continuing with medication and I am loads better!

These weight losses are fab keep it up ladies, we should all be really proud of ourselves!!!

PlumBumMum your be fine, just think do I need it???

PlumBumMum · 03/03/2010 11:59

dd1 will be 9, and we are bringing her out for dinner, she wants to go to a sit in chinese, she loves garlic chilli kingprawns, so will pick healthiest thing

but I said she could have a friend over on her birthday and her dad said he will go get pizza, (hes really not helping me out here, I've told him I think he's a feeder)

Although I hardly ever get to taste one of my finished cakes, esp plain sponge as everyone in family normally request chocolate, but I will resist, especially if have put on!

And dh wanted me to bake cheesecake but I told him he had to wait until Easter Sunday, as his family always request one, so I thought that was good

simmo39 · 03/03/2010 20:41

My DS is so into cake and biscuit baking at the moment and I am finding it hard to resist running my finger round the bowl for a huge scoop ! (mouth drooling at the thought - stop it!)
Plumbummum - you sound like a top baker have never attmepted Cheescake and won't be now for a long long time. Perhaps when I hit goal weight I will be asking you for a recipe
Had a reasonable day today, I have eaten too many chocolate coated raspberries (allowed 1 pack as a treat had 2 1/2!) But will be extra good tomorrow.

mumoverseas · 04/03/2010 03:51

simmo I totally understand that feeling of wanting/needing to run your finger round the bowl/lick the bowl. I had to wash my hands and bowl immediately yesterday otherwise I'd have been done for.
My favourite desert to make is key lime pie. I'm famous for it out here. Made several of them and some chocolate cakes for desert when we had a large party here a few weeks ago but sadly/luckily? when I went back into the kitchen to get the fruit salad everyone dived on them and scoffed the lot.
ooh chocolate coated raspberries? They sound lovely.

Went out for dinner last night as a treat as it was our Friday night (our weekend is Thursday and Friday) Was very restrained and had a chicken and veg stir fry with boiled rice and asked for some steamed broccoli and carrots on the side. Went to bed feeling stuffed.

What days do everyone else weigh in?

redshoesnoknickers · 04/03/2010 07:36

Hi everyone

I have been such a mess with food this week some days eating hardly anything other days too much because I didn't plan before I shopped last week!! Fool!

Anyway I will do better and plan before I shop today, DH is also away 2 nights next week so I could do Davina those nights without being laughed at! The weather seems to have picked up too so no excuse not to get running. Exercise starts here!

I won't be online tomorrow so I weighed in this morn 10stone 8 - so that's another half a pound off. Not great but I wasn't expecting anything really and 6 lbs in 2 weeks is still good for me
