GettinTrimmer · 21/01/2010 18:26

Hello all

Blondes I would have thought you'd be OK with the gins and slims, but I would lose my resolve and snack enormously on nuts and crisps!

Rather Be On the Piste - After my 5lb weight loss last week it took me into the overweight and not obese category as well. It does feel good!

Gruber - Sorry you're unwell but great you've done some exercise. Kayzr, hope your sore throat gets better.

I am pleased with myself because I finally got to the gym, and I am planning to go running tomorrow (or in my case atm a slow jog). I didn't do much, just running on the treadmill, rowing machine then sit ups but...I finally got there!!

Kayzr · 21/01/2010 19:53

I'm hoping to get out for a run tomorrow if I am feeling better. I want to do that couch to 5k but I need to get out really.

GettinTrimmer · 21/01/2010 21:24

Sorry if you've mentioned it before Kayzr, but is that couch to 5k part of an organised running club?

Kayzr · 21/01/2010 21:28

No it's just a podcast I have downloaded. I think there is a website too. It takes 9 weeks and it says it will get you running 5k in 9 weeks.

giraffesCantDanceOnIce · 22/01/2010 05:25

I don't think I ate enough yesterday - woke up starving and have had to get up and have some porridge because hunger pains were bad and no way could I get back to sleep. Oops! Had a small bowl there, so might try and doze on the sofa now.

mum2OliNoandJess · 22/01/2010 08:17

Hi all not been on much this week with work. Diet has been so so kept mostly to it but a few slips ( fun size bag of maltesers twice)
thing i havent done is keep the excersise up.

Need to improve for next week. Hope your all doing well and keeping it up as i see th epost nos have dropped quite a bit too.

bebejones · 22/01/2010 08:39

Hope everyone is doing ok? So thankful it's Friday, DD has been a devil child this week & I'm exhausted!

Diet going well, think I am craving bread as AF due next couple of days. I shall try and be strong & resist!

Made yummy tomato & red pepper soup for dinner last night & have put some in the freezer for those 'can't be bothered to cook' days!

Fingers crossed DD naps today ( not holding out much hope) but I really need to do some dvd & she 'helps' a bit too much, I'm worried I'll stomp on her!

Making a chicken Korma tonight with brown rice. Tesco do a healthy living sauce which is low fat & really yummy! Not sure bout breakfast yet, maybe some cheerios again, with skimmed milk (yuk).

RatherBeOnThePiste · 22/01/2010 08:47

Am also glad it's Friday, but have to go to a do at lunchtime today and it's like a buffet lunch after, which is agony - booze and buffet aaaaaaggggghhhhhh!!!!

Have done exactly the same this week as before and am getting on but the weight loss has slowed as I thought.

But I am still here and still determined!!

Disenchanted3 · 22/01/2010 08:52

Morning girls

My mum started slimming world last week and has lost 2.5lbs! which is fabtastic considering she quit smoking the same day she joined!

Kayzr · 22/01/2010 09:42

I feel like I've been hit by a train today. I hate feeling ill, more soup today I think. I really must make my own soup, but I don't really like a lot of the veg that are in soup recipes I find.

Poohbearsmom · 22/01/2010 10:13

Gosh it takes me so long to write a message like 5 of ye hav posted since i startd writing! Dis that is some mum u hav givin up smokin aswel is bril fairplay to her! Piste hav a lovely time at ur do Bebe i know wat ya mean bout little ones 'helpin' wit exercising my ds2 who is 21mo likes to either sit on my tum or put books or toys on me when i try to do the ab thingy dh got me. i sometimes play chasing wit my boys as my exercise, 15min runnin duckin hiddin & da sweat is pouring outa me! & my boys r usually happy then to let me do a bit on my own & bop around wit me & i turn on lazytown n da background to distract em a bit & it has load of songs for me to bop to aswell

Poohbearsmom · 22/01/2010 11:10

Do u like mushrooms kayz? i used to do a lovely mushroom & corgette ww one which back n da days when i workd all around me n da canteen wud try it & even ppl who said they didnt normally like mush soup took da recipe off me. Il happily post da recipe he ya like what veg do ya like? One of us might hav a recipe ya like, i make a yum tom, peppers and 'what ever's knockin about one' which is lovely and i use it thick for pasta sauce for the boys then thin it out a bit for me

Kayzr · 22/01/2010 11:17

I love mushrooms. All the mushroom soup recipes I find seem to have lots of cream in them.

The veg I don't like is sweet potato, butternut squash, parsnip, broccoli, swede and that's about it really.

Eddas · 22/01/2010 11:21

poohbearsmum, I like the recipies for the mushroom and tomato soups if you don't mind posting them

I'm doing ok, got on scales this morning and i'm still the same. No shock really as last pill tomorrow so AF is coming next week. Still I don't feel as bloated as normal and my trousers feel looser round the legs (I have a big arse and big legs) the wasteband of the trousers is still the same though maybe that's AF

Blondeshavemorefun · 22/01/2010 12:06

cousre if i did manage to drink 10 G&s - im will be flat on the floor lol

kayzr - hope you are feeling better and def worth making your own soup, i can really reconmend my bns, onion, carrot, simmer in chicken/veg stock and then blend

giraffe, you must eat enough, are you on ww? dont starve youself, porridge is good

mumtooil - a small treat every now and again isnt bad-if you always deny yourself then you will fail

bebe - its good to stock up with o point soup_try dvd with dd (bribe her with a biccy )

piste - enjoy the buffet, stay away from pastry, and eat lean meats and salad if possible

dis - well done your mum+aunt = DONT weigh yourself more than once a week, i know it is hard but your weight fluctaes

poorbearsmum - my bns soup is yummy - even if i do say so my self lol

Blondeshavemorefun · 22/01/2010 12:12

GettinTrimmer · 22/01/2010 12:57

Afternoon ladies

kayzr - 5K in 9 weeks sounds great. I am thinking of doing the Race for Life in the summer, but also just going for it and booking a 10K race at some point. Gulp!!

It is pouring here today and I couldn't face going out for a run but have done a few sit ups and jogged up and down the stairs a few times. At least it's something.

Blondes - very well done on your 2lb loss.

Keep going everyone, we will get there. I am hoping to maybe see a 1lb loss this week, but I won't sulk if I stay the same again as it's been a difficult week, FILs funeral was Tuesday .

MABS · 22/01/2010 13:00

2 lbs off today, BUT, MN boozy meet tmro, so all will go back on

Disenchanted3 · 22/01/2010 15:36

Really really fed up today.

I don't feel well and I'm craving everything I shouldn't have, just feel down.

Ate a tea cake, a rocky bar , a pack of ww cookies (2 in a pack) and a ww yougurt today

Only used 11 points though as had special k for brekkie and 0 point soup,

so points wise Im on track but really, really struggling.

Done no exercise at all this week, just sat inside mostly, i tend to have 'high and low' period aanyways and usually turn to food for comfort so todays been very hard

OP posts:
Disenchanted3 · 22/01/2010 15:37

Well done mabs

can you not limit what you can drink? have a few but then switch to diet coke? not fun I know but lb loss is really good and I wouldn't throw it away lightly!

OP posts:
MABS · 22/01/2010 15:56

you are totally right Dis, but my willpower is terrible and have major stress at mo, big meet next week re major surgery for my disabled ds, just know i won't stick to it

Blondeshavemorefun · 22/01/2010 16:30

thank you trimmer - really pleased with myself

MABS im out tomorrow as well and there will be booze ........

dis - sometimes your body needs carbs and chocolate and stodge - you are easily within your points,so dont worry that you had the biscuits/choc bar etc

have some chicken/salmon with some rice and green beans/brocolli etc tonight to make sure you have had protein, carbs and veg today
