THREAD 2.

Can you believe the first one filled up so quickly?

OP posts:
Lovecat · 15/01/2010 20:45

Oh, and DH sent me this link today.

Whatever can he be getting at....?

RatherBeOnThePiste · 15/01/2010 20:48

Can't wait until the Piste Family ( minus DH ) are on the piste! Yes it uses loads of energy, and at the end of the day one's legs feel like they are made of shaky lettuce !

In the past what we have done is sunk several of those mega German / Austrian style beers as the sun sank over the mountains, they are just the thing and really do help on the energy front. DH is not coming this year, so I aim to wait for dinner!

Yes, we have all the gear, although had to buy DD some new trousers, as she has grown like a weed, and I am looking into hiring or buying a helmet for me ( they are easily rented for the children ) after that poor Natasha Richardson came a cropper. I've never worn one, but that was so scary and tragic.

Disenchanted3 · 15/01/2010 21:11

Awwwww, messed up a bit today

Decided to get the chicken tikka kebab but forgot to specify pita, came on a great big bloody naan

So I ended up having 4 pieces chicken (4p) salad (0) oven chipc (3) and th huge nan was probably about 8!!

So I went over my daily points by a few

BUT all the other day I have come in at 18 or under (doing 18 points 'fast start' style) so Im not over my weekly allowance, still really under, but feel like I caved in a bit.

But on the other hand I could have ordered a big greasy curry and rice, but didn't, I went for the best option so not so bad.

lovecat I was laughing at that earlier today!!

OP posts:
Disenchanted3 · 15/01/2010 21:12

Oh and I had a popudom too, and those red onions

shite site shite

I feel I have to be honest here!

OP posts:
Blondeshavemorefun · 15/01/2010 21:17

yes you do have to be honest - no point lying about what you have eaten BUT it was one day, so again dont let it get you down, have a few days having 2/3points less and it will even out

jodie good luck with op tom

lovecat - you will get into your jeans, just as i will get into my suede trousers

Disenchanted3 · 15/01/2010 21:32

yes blondes, am making 0 point soup (bns and pepper) so will very much make up for it tomorrow & sunday

mummymels · 15/01/2010 21:45

Ooh just posted on the old one and realised there is so much on the new one already so I am going to copy and paste old one then read everything on here.

Lovecat ? I hope you had a nice day off today and feel better. I know what you mean about hearing everyone having ww pizza?s. Although I am enjoying Go Lower the thought of a pizza does sound quite nice! Yes Go Lower is low carb. The first few days were hard and I did get headaches but once I went into ketosis I found and still find it a lot easier. I wasn?t sure what the food would be like being ready meals but they are actually really nice and there is a choice so you don?t get bored of them and you can bulk them up with vegetables. The breakfast is a granola mix which I sometimes have on its own and sometimes mix with a few berries and Greek yoghurt if I fancy it a bit sweeter. Lunch is a soup and again there is a choice and they are really tasty. I also meant to wish you luck with your play, sorry I missed that off.

Poohbearsmom ? That is brilliant that you are so onto the water now. It really helps. Oh that?s something I forgot to say above that I have to drink lots and lots of water too but I did drink a lot of water before anyway so don?t find that too hard. That must have been so embarrassing with the singing but well done you for getting up there because I wouldn?t even be able to get up in front of an audience at the best of times. Mind you, my singing would scare them all off if I did ever dare do it!

Cheepz ? I?m so sorry you are going through such a tough time. I?m not surprised dieting is the last thing on your mind at the moment. I hope that your TTC journey is not too long and that soon you will be back with us with some good news. Big hugs to you.

Jodie ? If you are in hospital at the weekend you need to worry more about getting yourself better and worry about the diet when you come home. Good luck with it. That?s brilliant going on the wii fit instead of snacking.

Bebejones ? Hope DH had a nice birthday. I?m sure he will understand that what you ordered is on its way especially as you and DD have gone to so much effort with everything else.

RatherBeOnThePiste ? I was wondering the same with the new thread.

Blondes ? Well done on your weight loss. Any loss is a loss so you are going in the right direction.

Disenchanted ? Maybe it?s easier for other people to notice the weight loss rather than yourself. I hope you are feeling better now. Can you give DH a list of what you want to buy and he can get it on his way home from work. Thanks for starting the new thread.

arcticwind · 15/01/2010 21:54

Hi all

I di not manage to get on last night as I went to London - wasn't sure I'd go with the snow but it was melting and I caught the train so all OK. BUT I missed being able to log on for support and I was very naughty I had been craving a MacD chicken legend (decided I could do without the chips) but there wasn't a MAcD at Euston where I caught my connection so I ended up with a beanburger in the hotel, which came with chips and I ate all of it I then really felt like chocolate and succumbed to a wispa gold (but it was reeaally scrumptious and definitely worth it)
Have thankfully been better today so hopefully not too bad. Feel so guilty when you have all been resisting like mad

Well done blondes on the weight loss - it all mounts up.
Dis, fab news on the jeans, it makes such a difference to see the difference where it matters!
Jodie - good luck for tomorrow
bebe - cool on the thinner wrists
lovecat ? your play sounds scary, but fun. I went to an amdram production years ago in a friend?s mother?s garden and it was a fantastic experience so good on you!
Mummymels ? it fluctuates how difficult it is, most of the time I do fine because the weight is coming off so fast it really motivates me but others it can be hard (like last night). I looked at Go Lower but it is more expensive, and more importantly has very little veggie stuff so I would have been on the same thing every day (or so it seemed when I read it)
MABS hope you can get out now, the snow was a real pain. I think all of you that exercise are amazing, by the time I get home, and the kids are in bed, I just want to crash!
Twitter ? great stuff on the wii, I love it too, but struggle to make myself do it, and if I do and the kids are awake, they try and steal it, or else beat me at boxing!
Eddas ? well done getting back on track today and have fun with the new exercise DVD

Sorry to anyone have missed and apologies for any typos ? kitten is sitting on my keyboard!!!

mummymels · 15/01/2010 22:05

Disenchanted ? I know I feel like we have only just started but all this chatting and we have filled a thread already. It?s great having everyone?s support on here. We are all doing out own thing but still able to support one another. That?s brilliant about the jeans. If you are under your points for the week you should be fine with todays takeaway.

Mum2olinoandjess ? I am not very good with exercise either. I never seem to find the time which I know is no excuse. I am pleased with how much weight I am losing but I would probably lose even more if I got up off my fat bum and did some exercise!

Bebejones ? Mmm, I can smell those muffins from here! Your DH sounds like mine with the tv remote.

Jodie ? I keep meaning to watch that programme and forgetting. Will see if it is on catch up.

Phase ? That food sounds yummy. I do kind of miss having fruit although I can eat berries so eat as much as I am allowed of those.

Blondes ? You are still within your points so don?t worry about the lunch. Well done on resisting the drink though.

Eddas ? You sound so much happier today, that?s great and you are fully stocked up with lovely healthy food now. I?ll be interested to hear how you get on with the exercise video.

Lovecat ? that hamper sounds lush. I know I shouldn?t laugh but that link is funny.

Piste ? I am excited for you! When is it you are going again?

Arcticwind ? I think Go Lower is harder if you are veggie although I think there may be a way of doing it making your own lo carb meals rather than eating theirs but as you say, you may as well be doing something else then. I have to be honest that I don?t know too much about being a veggie on it.

Disenchanted3 · 16/01/2010 11:23

Had cereal (again) for brekkie.

Going to make 0 point soup after I've tidied up, will probably live on that mostly for a few days

Will have a proper dinner later but something low points, maybe fish and veg.

Don't thank me for starting the thread... I should be thanking you lot for joining! Other wise I'd be sat here on my own sobbing over eaten naan bread

OP posts:
RatherBeOnThePiste · 16/01/2010 12:13

Does anyone else find weekends harder to stay on track?
I am still going strong and am getting incentive from my scales ( which are currently my friend!)

I haven't said anything to people at work about trying to lose weight, but someone did say I looked like I had lost weight, was I trying.... so things must be changing.

We are going to be ActuallyOnThePiste in February Half Term, so really not long. There are 4 whole weeks left at school this Half Term. I am already a stone+ lighter than I was when we went last year, so that is also a good thing. When you get your bindings done in the ski hire place you do have to declare your weight so I am already less {blush} than I was this time last year!!

RatherBeOnThePiste · 16/01/2010 12:14

that was !

Blondeshavemorefun · 16/01/2010 12:23

i have just come back from the gym and im literally lying on the sofa - i am shattered

my arms are hurting so much, let alone my tummy muscle and thighs

i do body combat class's and they are good as everyone motivates each other but after doing thur/fri and today, and most tracks are arms instead of legs this time, apart from the squats, and with 14press ups x3 - 42 press ups have done me in - im now uselsss to do anything, ie washing up/hoovering etc

b oat so simple and skim 3
l beans 4 on toast 1 ,2 kiwi 1= 6p
t prob takeaway, that is my weekly treat and i do keep in my points

lovecate - glad hamper was nice

artic - enjoy the burger, dont regret it and start afresh today

cheepz - so sorry for your loss, we are here when you fancy joining us x

dis - well done for maing o point soup and with bns it really does taste yummy and sweet

eddas - be good with the food and enjoy the dvd

JODIEwantsanewname · 16/01/2010 14:16

Morning all,

Well they only went and bumped me off the bloody list for today, so now I have to wait until tomorrow (fingers crossed!)

This means that I still went to SW this morning and I put on 1lb, but that counts for the plaster, so the weigh lady reckons I've lost a lb this week as they usually say that plaster weighs 2lbs. So I'm not sure how to update the list, shall I say another 1lb? or, stick to my actual weight and say I've gained one?

Anyway, I hope you are all well and good and having lovely weekends?

blondes I love BC classes, I can't wait to start them up again, it was one of the reasons I joined the gym I did! They are a killer though aren't they!

Blondeshavemorefun · 16/01/2010 14:21

oh no jodie - how annoying about the op - if plaster weighs 2, then i think you prob have lost a lb,so i think you should update list

i do love body combat, but i hadnt been to the gym for about a month, think last time was dec 18 - due to working manic hours, snow, xmas, more snow etc

i am really paying for it today, i used to go thur/fri and sat and now having a month off has made me reliese how unfit i have got again

Poohbearsmom · 16/01/2010 15:08

Quick post... Hi every1 Mad day... Blondes ur an inspiration off to exercise, chat all later xxx

daisy5 · 16/01/2010 16:34

Just 2lb for me, but that is my goal - 2 lb a week, as I think I can manage that without too much suffering, and when kids are crying I find myself looking longingly into the fridge!!!

Hi all

Hope you are all having good weekends. Well done Daisy on your 2lb. Jodie, it sounds fair to me if you update the list with 1lb loss.

Blondes, I have done Body Combat, I think all the instructors do the same routine everywhere, lots of kicking to james bond music when I did it.

I must get to the gym tomorrow!!

RBOTP - Agree weekends are difficult.

My willpower is being tested this evening, dh has just asked if I'd like a takeaway.

Can anybody suggest something chinese and veggie that won't cause too much damage?

GettinTrimmer · 16/01/2010 17:47

Lovecat - Had a at the link

Just been reading Jo Brand's autobiography, she has also played Mrs Drudge!

GettinTrimmer · 16/01/2010 17:50

Also meant to say Jodie all the best, hope you get sorted tomorrow.

Blondeshavemorefun · 16/01/2010 18:04

poorbearsmum - i like to inspire you all

well done daisy!!!!

dis-glad you like the soup, so easy to make, tastes yummy and is o points - you will soon be back within your points after your takeaway!!

gettintrimmer - indeed james bond was the last one, ifnot one before that, last ones no 6 was robbie williams if that helps? are you still doing the class's? new tracks are hard

right a low fat veggie chinky - here are chinese points

you could have sweet+sour beencurd for 3.5p

and mushroom chow mein 4.5p so for both dishes it would be 8p

obv if you only had half of each dish then would be 4

Disenchanted3 · 16/01/2010 19:18

Got on the scales at 7, as thats when i woill be getting weighed monday.

It says Ive lost 0.5 of a lb

In the mornings I wegh in at about 13 now, so by weigh in time Ive gained 3 lbs, lol

arghh!! i want to go to my daytime meeting

OP posts:
bebejones · 16/01/2010 19:28

RBOTP - very of your skiing holiday sounds fab!

Dis - soup sounds lovely!

GettinTrimmer - chinese sounds yummy, you should be fine as long as you don't have all the 'extras' like prawn crackers, spring rolls, prawns on toast etc!

Jodie - fingers crossed for op 2moro! Well done on the loss, especially after a rubbish week!

Daisy - well done on the 2lbs!

Blondes - I am exhausted just thinking about that amount of exercise! Well done you!

I have been very restrained again today. Been at PIL & refused a bacon sanwich! I am very proud of myself, especially as everyone else had one & I could smell it! Also not had any muffins (gave some to IL's) but still got 3 sat on the side!

Did however have several (5) Nairns ginger oat biscuits (not all at once) but figured they are low GI & are the only 'snack' I have had! Before dinner I totalled calories to about 550. Had pasta & homemade tomato sauce for dinner...and no cheese on top!

Have got an MRI Monday morning at the hospital which I am dreading. Having to put your weight on the form is so embarassing & the whole experience is generally not nice! Will aim to weigh & post before I go though as not sure how long I will be there!

Also, on a crappy note, have pulled a muscle in my ribs picking up a wriggly DD earlier today! It's agony, even hurts to breathe! Fingers crossed it is better by morning so I can at least do some exercise!
