RatherBeOnThePiste · 22/01/2010 19:03

I had to go to a do with DH at lunchtime today - and earlier on this thread I said it was a buffet, but it was a sit down posh lunch, three courses, and it was awkward.

Dh had told them I was not a veggie, so I had put in front of me a sort of Italian starter with parma ham, salami, olives, rocket, mozzerella, tomatoes all drizzled in olive oil, then it was a gorgeous lamb thing in a rich gravy with spinach and some very thinly sliced potato gratin type thing in a creamy sauce, then pudding was this sort of chocolate sponge thing.

All lovely stuff, and formal, but no choice. And I really didn't want it. I ate enough to be polite, and chatted a lot, but gawd alone knows what that has done to my diet I could have had loads of red wine too, but said from the start I was driving so couldn't.

It was mostly men and they all hoovered up the food!

It was so lovely, but you know when you really don't want to.

Am a fed up fatty now

RatherBeOnThePiste · 22/01/2010 19:03

But am not eating at all tomorrow, so will be on track again

bebejones · 22/01/2010 19:30

Had a cheeky weigh in (as am going away from the scales til Tuesday) and have lost 2lbs ( & that was after lunch) very pleased with that! Lets hope I can lose another 1lb by Tuesday when I am home!

RBOTP - don't starve yourself!! Just eat sensibly I'm sure 1 day won't make that big a difference, maybe do some sort of exercise 2moro or Sunday? It won't be that bad!

Poohbearsmum - soups sound lovely! Might try the mushroom one next week!

Going to my mums for a few days to give DH some head space. Had a really bad week, finances in a right old mess. He is self-employed & really been struggling last 18months. Damn credit crunch! The bank are being (IMO) complete arseholes! (Sorry ) Bit worried about what I'm gonna be eating while away, my mum is always eating out! While try and be strong...am taking my ryvita with me!

GettinTrimmer · 22/01/2010 20:51

RatherBeOnThePiste - Agree with Bebejones, some exercise will limit the damage, but these meals are sometimes unavoidable.

I'm out for lunch tomorrow but will try my best to be iron willed and have something lowish in fat and go to the gym in the morning.

Poohbearsmum - thanks for the soup recipes

bebejones - well done on your 2lbs loss!! Hope things get sorted for your DH.

RatherBeOnThePiste · 22/01/2010 20:58

Thank you, yes you are right, I just didn't like not being in control IYSWIM

Blondeshavemorefun · 23/01/2010 09:32

piste - that meal sounds yummy but obv not low in fat/calories so not good

but exercise a bit more if you can and try to eat really healthily for a few years days to counter balance

im off to the gym again

needs must - have to say my arms are def not hurting so much this week, nor my legs, maybe weighing 2 lbs less makes press ups easily?

im out painting the town read tonight - i will NOT drink wine as high in ww points but will stick to gin&slim (hopefully)

b oat so simple+skim =3p
l pitta, lf homous and sweet peppers =4p
t ww meal&veg=5p

leaving 10p for gin&slim

hmmmmmmmmmmmmm - we will see

RatherBeOnThePiste · 23/01/2010 09:40

I did actually weigh myself this morning and that big yummy nosh made no difference!! My weight is still on the way down.I hadn't eaten anything else yesterday.

It was really lovely nosh, I just wasn't expecting it to be like that and I would have enjoyed it more if I'd have known it would not impact at all

RatherBeOnThePiste · 23/01/2010 09:41

Blondes - enjoy your gin and skinny, I'm an absolute monster for gin!!

JODIEwantsanewname · 23/01/2010 10:42

Morning girlies!

Ive been fixed!!!!! They did it yesterday afternoon and I'm still here. Doing ok with food, have opted for the low fat choice for meals and left the buscuits when they bring the tea and coffee!!!!

Also, I've lost 2lbs this week!!! (can someone update the list for me as I'm on my phone )

Mabs have a great time
piste I'm so of your meal!!!
Dis, don't beat yourself up! Can you really try and get out of the house and just walk round the block? The air in your lungs will do you the world of good and you'll be glad you did!!! If you are in your points, what's the harm? I was terrible last week with my AF I had chocolate every day, and not ww stuff either, dairy milks, crunchies, caramels

I'm not going to be at slimming world meetings for 3 weeks now as I'm away for the next 2 weekends (will be asking advice at a later date!!) so your suppot willbe crucial ladies!!!!!!

Have a great day!

Poohbearsmom · 23/01/2010 13:37

GettinTrimmer · 23/01/2010 15:33

Hi all

I am very naughty, had fish and chips for lunch, but did go for a run this morning. I can't expect any weight loss this week, but this thread is keeping me going, thanks girls . Salad for tea and more exercise tomorrow I hope will result in either a little bit of weight loss or staying the same.

Jodie - well done on your 2lb and pleased you're fixed.

Blondes - have a great time this evening.

Poohbearsmum - thanks for all your encouragement, soups and veg stir frys are the way to go...

Blondeshavemorefun · 23/01/2010 16:08

fish+chips isnt that bad - esp if you have a very low fat/calarie meal tonight either soup/chicken/salmon + salad/o point soup

im prob going to get plastered, havent had a drink since nye 09 - sure a few G&S and i will be on the floor

GettinTrimmer · 23/01/2010 16:44

At least you can have a few, I would be plastered after about 3 gins Have a great time.

Blondeshavemorefun · 23/01/2010 17:12

is that 3 doubles?

i will let you know tomorrow, tonights outcome

oliviasmama · 24/01/2010 06:48

Just had a quick read since I was here on Wednesday, good going everyone, it's coming off!

Blondes - hope it was a great night out and that someone scooped you off that floor

This thread is fab, lots of motivation.

Will report my second week on Wednesday after "Wednesday Weigh In". We'll see if it's working, I'm really trying but have had a couple of days where, although the food I ate was healthy and not "naughty", I seemed to be munching away all day long.

Good luck girls!

Kayzr · 24/01/2010 10:18

Wish me luck. I am off for a run. The first run of my life!!!

If I don't return I am in a ditch somewhere.

GettinTrimmer · 24/01/2010 10:53

Kayzr - let me know how you've got on, I've just done the same, puffed my way up our road which is hilly, half walked half ran, about 2 miles. Well done you!!

I am seriously considering entering myself for the Marwell Zoo 10K 'race' (don't care if I come last!) it's in May.

Oliviasmum - good luck

Even if I've only lost 1/2lb tomorrow I will be pleased, no willpower this week. No quick fixes for me, but increasing the exercise will help me get there.

Kayzr · 24/01/2010 11:02

Well it was horrible. The couch to 5 does it in 30 minutes a day. You walk for 5 minutes, then run 60 seconds, walk 90 seconds and then run again. It does that for 30 minutes.

I swear the 60 seconds runs were longer than the 90 seconds walk.

My legs are killing me and I feel half dead. Now going for a shower and lie down.

MABS · 24/01/2010 11:28

that the best way Katz, well done, yow will see results with interval training.

V bad ystdy, fish and chips for lunch andloads of wine, should be at body attack now, but too much work to catch up on, so suck on pc

bebejones · 24/01/2010 12:25

Well done Kayzr!! Think that'd near kill me at the moment!

Blondes - hope you had a good night!

Jodie - glad they fixed you, hope you are home soon!

AF has arrived & all I can think about is food!! Just saw a huge pheasant in my mums garden & got all dribbly thinking about eating it! Anyone else finding it really hard watching your DC's eating stuff you aren't 'allowed'? Just watching DD munching a ham sandwich... and throwing most of it on the floor!

My mum seriously does my head in, she is always on at me to lose weight. I am on this diet & she is having a go at me for not eating enough! WTF?!?!? And in the next breath is telling me 'You can tell you have lost weight!' So it's obviously working then!!! Grrr

Blondeshavemorefun · 24/01/2010 13:24

interval training is the best

i had a fab time last night, but fall off the diet wagon completley

got to my friends, she opened bubbly, i had some, went to pub, had many double g&s and today i am sooooooooooooo hungover, feel like complete crap and want to throw up

cant face food - just want to go to bed and die, but im working in 3hrs time

im never drinking again - i look+feel like shit

MABS · 24/01/2010 13:41

Blondes - i am so feeling the same pain too,i will never drink again either..........!
