Can you believe the first one filled up so quickly?

OP posts:
PhaseolusLunatus · 15/01/2010 10:14

I know, all that support!

mum2OliNoandJess · 15/01/2010 10:30

found you great. i havent managed to excersise aa much as i hoped but am trying to stick to the diet. will try and get on the wii fit tonight again.
everyone seems to be doing really well and i think we will all really need support in the next week as the initial 'oomph' wanes. come on everyone is doing so well and this thread is really helping.

Disenchanted3 · 15/01/2010 10:44

I find it really hard to fit exercise in because I get really sweaty so it means I have to change clothes have a shower too. so i need a good window of oppotunity.

Best time is at night but by then Ive had my evening meal and just want to chill!

OP posts:
mum2OliNoandJess · 15/01/2010 10:47

yeah same here keep having best intentions to do it at 6am before kids get up but last week i have had at least one child up during the night so the early start is a struggle.

bebejones · 15/01/2010 12:01

Is this the right place?

Can't believe we are on our 2nd thread already!

Am going to have to show alot of restraint as have just baked 11 enormous double choc muffins for DH's birthday! Didn't realise the recipe was going to make so many! They smell great, feeling a bit that I can't have any, but DH is joining me on the weight loss after the weekend! So we can suffer together!

PhaseolusLunatus · 15/01/2010 12:39

bebe - you are really pushing self-restraint to its very limits!

Blondes - 6 lbs over a fortnight is a great loss. I, too, expect to do this slowly. But we will get there, and way before the summer is out!

Dis - thanks again for starting this thread. In my experience of going to classes in the evening it really is difficult to compare precisely week to week. I have done the whole wearing my lightest clothes thing (I have compared various tops on the kitchen scales before getting dressed ), not eating/drinking much all day, drinking dandelion tea to make me pee more, wearing my contacts instead of glasses... you get the picture... )

All it ever did for me was make me very cross and anxious one day in seven, largely fuelled by not following the plan that was helping me to lose weight on all the other days. I was thus much more likely to go off the rails when I got home.

RatherBeOnThePiste · 15/01/2010 14:04

ooooooooooo am glad I found you all hiding here!

Am home from work and am right peckish, and want to stuff but will be restrained!!

JODIEwantsanewname · 15/01/2010 14:26

Hey all! found ya!

bebe you're a better woman than me! I could never resist anything, let alone the 'bowl licking!'

Did anyone watch the Big Fat Diet Show last night? Well, it was very inspirational, over the 2 weeks they lost about the same as us, (6-7lbs ish), and they had ALL dropped a dress size! it doesn't take much does it!!!

dis I agree with PhaseolusLunatu thanks so much for starting thos thread!

RBOTP Step away from them there snacks!

twittertotter · 15/01/2010 15:06

oooh shiney new thread...

I too saw the BFD show - lots of really interesting stuff on it too and it seems you just need to eat healthy ( and reduce portions) to make the difference and the results are pretty good!! iof course easier said than done but the support on here is great!

RRght off to get my obese MII into shape!

Poohbearsmom · 15/01/2010 15:06

Woohoo still some comfy seats left Bebe everytime ya reach out for a tasty treat jus look at them lovely thin wrists & pop it back down again! it'l b so much easier nxt wk when ur dh is goin healthy too, ikwym bout feeling kinda sad not being able to join n on da yummie stuf, wat ya makin for yourself tho? been chewin gum myself all afternoon to chase away the craving devils...

Disenchanted3 · 15/01/2010 15:22

Hey something must be happening because I managed to button and zip a pair of jeans that I could not get near a few weeks agao!

They are still not wearable as they are well too tigt tummy hangover but they do up

fab!
I'll be really happy when I can wear them comftably!

OP posts:
PhaseolusLunatus · 15/01/2010 15:23

Right, I seem to be back on track:

2 weetabix with a banana (with hot water, not milk - sounds disgusting but I love it and can save my milk for my tea )
Chicken and barley soup
An orange

Dinner plans are roast fish of some sort, new potatoes and spinach, followed by 1/2 a pineapple.

I have to go away on Sunday, so will be weighing in first thing on Tuesday morning this time. I can't face doing it early!

twittertotter · 15/01/2010 15:51

Well done on the jeans Dis- what a result!!

Blondeshavemorefun · 15/01/2010 16:38

bebe - work out what they are per muffin and maybe you can have 1/2 a one - better not to deprive yourselves

dis - fab you got into your jeans

jodie, yes i did watch tbfds - still not sure how losing 5lbs in anna's case or 7/8 like the others can make you get into a smaller size, i still cant get into my brown suede sooooooooooooo sexy

trousers - and prob wont for another few months but i will by july - god i hope i will then!!!

met friends for pub luck today and i decided to be the desginated driver so stuck to diet coke, while they knocked back 2 bottles of wine and a baileys

i did however eat roasted pork loin and red cabbage and small pots - but i did go to the gym today and gawd my arms/tummy and thighs are on fire

b oats so simple and skim=3p
l pork, pots and cabbage,carrots+brocolli - guessing 10p
t beef casserole (done in slow cooker and cant smell it now) and tons of veg 6p

leaving me with 3p for a biccy/crisps (my treat)

Eddas · 15/01/2010 17:57

evening ladies

well done blondes, a loss even a lb is fab!

I feel better today, thanks for the messages last night. I don't know what was wrong. Don't think my tummy was needing food particularly, it just wasn't very happy maybe it was eating itself, I can hope

DH and I have decided to get chicken kebabs tonight, a bit naughty but much better than some alternative take aways.

I went shopping again today and now have a fully stocked fruit bowl, veg and salad drawer, no excuses now!

Oh and the exercise dvd has turned up, horah I did order it I will try it out at some point, wuite busy the next 2 weeks with work but definately after that, I may try to squeeze a bit of free time to use it before but I really do have an enormous amount of work to do

Blondeshavemorefun · 15/01/2010 18:05

chicken kebabs arent bad

as long as you dont have donor chicken - a chicken shish and pitta bread is 4p - make sure they stuff it with tons of lettuce/toms and onion kebab points

GettinTrimmer · 15/01/2010 18:49

bebe - Those muffins sound gorgeous, what resistance!!

RatherBeOnThePiste - Do you have all the skiing gear? Your hol sounds lovely, but correct me if I'm wrong, skiing does use up a fair amount of calories.

Blondes - well done on your 1lb loss.

I am not sure I will lose any weight this week, I did have a 5lb loss last week and my portions have been a bit large. No exercise either apart from walking about in the snow, which I hope will result in the same as last week.

Jodie - I saw the Big Fat Diet Show and I found it inspiring to hear that even though we are surrounded by fattening food, we can be in control. I liked their 'supermarket' with all foods bundled up into 100 calories.

GettinTrimmer · 15/01/2010 18:52

You've inspired me to go and try a couple of pairs of outgrown jeans, Dis, very well done.

Disenchanted3 · 15/01/2010 18:53

i want a takeaway

i might get a chicken shish and put some 3 point oven chips in0

OP posts:
Disenchanted3 · 15/01/2010 18:56

blondes my local doesn't have shish, is it the same a chicken tikka? or how much would that be? points i mean.

OP posts:
Blondeshavemorefun · 15/01/2010 19:31

a kebab that doesnt have chicken on squwers? (sp)

what kind of kebab is that?

tikka is gen a point per lump of chicken

i would also love a 100cal shop to buy from, but i think i would find living off 1200 cals very hard

GettinTrimmer · 15/01/2010 19:52

I noticed as well when they were showing a typical day's food they didn't include milk.

bebejones · 15/01/2010 20:24

Dis - well done on the jeans, I have a lovely pair of Gap jens that have never fit me & I was too embarassed to take them back as I worked there! If I can do them up this year I will be chuffed to bits!

Jodie - good luck for your op 2moro, hope it all goes ok & they don't keep you in too long! I didn't see the BFDS, I am generally not allowed control of the sky remote & if it clashes with something DH wants to see then it isn't Sky+'d either!

Poohbearsmum - I did have the tiniest bite of muffin, after all I did walk up to Tesco in the ice (with DD in stroller) just to get the ingredients! Frozen slush much more dangerous than snow IMO. Had to hack it off the steps outside our house as I couldn't even get down them!

I think I have been good today, haven't stopped for 5mins it feels like! Walked up to Tesco's first thing (usually 5min walk, took about 10 in the ice) did painting with DD then gave her a bath (was worried that her hands were going to be permanently blue...thankfully not!) made the muffins, fed DD lunch, and did my Davina DVD (abs section today) while DD was napping! Up to this point all I had was a yoghurt (99kcal) and a chicken noodle cuppa soup (90kcal). So then I had a tiny bite of muffin....soooooo good! Went out for DH's birthday & had a thai chicken salad with pomegranite dressing, & 4 of DD's chips! But I would still imagine that I am below 2000kcal for today!

Going to enjoy the peace now DD is in bed and DH is still out partying!!

Lovecat · 15/01/2010 20:41

Well done Dis on the jeans, I've got a pair of size 12 diesel jeans I bought last year when I was slimmer as my test garment... no way they'll fit just yet!

Got home to find that DH had finally brought his Christmas prezzie home from work - he works for a french firm - it was a hamper with big jars of foie gras, pate & coq au vin, a bottle of really good wine and a box of truffles. Really, really posh, good quality fresh cream truffles. We ate them . There were only 2 each (DD helped us) so I'm hoping it's not done too much damage, but oooooooooh, they were lovely!

Bebe, sounds like you've run that muffin off aready (v. impressed with your willpower)!

Jodie, good luck, hope all goes well.

I saw the end of the BFDS, they'd all done really well. Interesting to see all the food laid out like that in 100cal portions, it's so easy to eat something small yet hugely calorific without even thinking about it.
