hi Maygirl, Welcome!
I'm having extra healthy extras because of breastfeeding too. I'm following Green mostly.

smallblackflowers · 01/05/2010 16:07

Hello all and welcome maygirl

I'm pleased to say I got my 1/2 stone award on thursday, lost another 1.5lbs. Am very pleased to make half a stone loss in 3 weeks, as last time I joined (half heartedly), I didn't even get to half a stone before giving in!

I too am breastfeeding, but as only on 2 or 3 feeds per day now am not having any extras for it at all, I guess I'll get a bit of a weight loss boost from it though!

how's everyone doing this week? I think I will be a bit disappointed (but not surprised!) at weigh-in number 2 tomorrow! I haven't written everything down this week so have probably scoffed way too much.

maygirl · 05/05/2010 21:58

Stayed the same this week, but did have a birthday meal out on flexible syns over the weekend. Going to be good this week!

blondiep14 · 06/05/2010 09:15

thats good maygirl, i had a hen night and bbq this weekend - gulp!!

smallblackflowers · 06/05/2010 14:20

I lost a lb this week, pleased as was chugging back the vino at the weekend! Did have a few syn free days to make up for it though as in fear of getting in a rut before I've lost very much.

clutteredup · 06/05/2010 17:01

Whoo hoo I lost 2 lbs this week inspite of a bit of a bad Sunday as was DSs birthday and I couldn't resist a lttle too much chocolate crispy cake and can't do parties without alcohol - for me not the DC I've been doing extra eay since I started but thought I'd give green and red a go to up my getting boring 1 lb a week weight loss.

I am 4.5 lbs off my target of 2 stone loss and am now thinking of reducing my target by another 0.5 stone. I started in January and thought it would take me a year to lose 2 stone so didn't expect to be able to lose more than that so I am really pleased!!
I have been delving through my wardrobe and found the dress I wore on my honeymoon 11 years and 3 DC ago. I can squeeze into it and I really think if I meet my target I'll be able to wear it.

It sounds like you're all doing well too.

Motivational tips -
Look out old phots of yourself and do a before and during album - it really hlpes to see where its going right and keeps you on the stright and narrow. I'd never want to be a success story in the magazine but I imagine what my before and after photo would look like and the things I'd say about how it works for me and what kept me on it and how I feel about losing the weight. I really keeps me on track.

broccolitrees · 06/05/2010 20:36

down to 11st 1lb woowoo only 5 to go to target!! well done to clutteredup too - hope i can do as well this, as have a lot of socialising to do in the next week

blondiep14 · 06/05/2010 21:10

I lost 3lbs!!! and !!
Got my half stone award and SotW award so very happy. Walked home and then treated myself to a Cadbury's Brunch Bar!

smallblackflowers · 06/05/2010 22:02

well done everyone!!!

I've just done a post eating syn check on air popped popcorn, assuming it would be free, as a veg of sorts......how wrong I was.....5.5 syns for 28 grams, and I'm sure I've just eaten about 100g, and have done every other night this week......oh dear!Just think how much I would have lost if I'd known, and I thought I was being so good! Lesson learned there for me - check before you eat!

icandoit · 07/05/2010 20:44

Hi Everyone! I joined SW 10 days ago. Went for my first weigh in and 'lost' 7 lbs! Was amazed as one woman at my club lost 8.5 lbs in her first week! Not a good day today though. Really tired and tended to 'use' chocolate to keep me awake/not too cranky. I blame the politicians - if there hadn't have been a general election I would have gone to bed early, not been tired and not eaten chocolate today!

broccolitrees · 07/05/2010 21:59

i have not had a good day either icandoit i had a 4 syns crumpet when dd did mid morning - which was fine then we went out for lunch and i had a beef salad with no dressing but it had a spoonful of really nice coleslaw - again still within the syn limit. dh made a lovely synfree soup but then.... i ate LOADS of bread... i just feel like i haven't had nice bread for sooooo long then there was an offer on doughnuts...... so yes ok, i ate one, or three notice the theme - bready stodge. i really miss bread and cereal when i am slimming

broccolitrees · 07/05/2010 22:00

well done on the great loss though

icandoit · 08/05/2010 17:45

Thank you. I know what you mean about bread and cereal - there really isn't a lot allowed is there? I also find that if it is nice, sunny and warm then I don't mind eating more fruit and salad but when the weather is this cold I too want the comfort food! I'm going to try Ryevita instead of bread because I'm a greedy girl and I can have more 'slices' of that for a healthy b than bread slices![grin

winstonstimpson · 11/05/2010 22:00

I lost 4lb in my first week and is weigh in tomorrow so really hope I get my half stone award (tho not v confident).

I am surprised how much I am coping without bread and crisps which are usually my downfall. I am afraid that I am not including alcohol in my syns calculation - not in a huge hurry to lose it and I know that I will get disheartened if I deprive myself of every pleasure in life.

I am finding new ways to snack (main meals are pretty easy to deal with). Celery with chilli sauce dip thing is quite nice. I also had strawberries with fat free vanilla yoghurt which I thought would be rubbish but was in fact really ok. I am also eating fewer carbs now I have adjusted to eating less overall.

fingers crossed for tomorrow and good luck to everyone

broccolitrees · 13/05/2010 16:48

i love chocolate...................

and fudge............

oops!

phoenixflower · 13/05/2010 21:52

Wondered if anyone had an EE 'free' meals that are quick and easy? I am having home-made burgers every night as I know they are totally free and I have them with SW chips and salad!

icandoit · 13/05/2010 22:08

Weighed in on Tuesday and lost 3.5 lbs, so 10.5 in total! Not being an angel though, that really would be toooo hard at this early stage. And I have so much to lose that being a bit naughty is fine. Those close to target seem to have to be angelic and not so much as look at anything synfull!

broccolitrees · 14/05/2010 22:40

well done icandoit!
i think you're right too - i am close to target and have to be really careful as the mere thought of something lovely and i gain

broccolitrees · 22/05/2010 13:08

have i killed it??

maygirl · 22/05/2010 16:50

Not been on as not v happy with SW at moment. I'm really sticking to it and exercising but staying the same or losing tiny amount. I'm meant to have extra healthy extras and 15 syns for BF but cut them down as felt must be having too much food. Not found the optimum level yet!

Anyone else acheieved good weightloss while BF and did you follow the SW guidelines?

Come off doing EE all the time and trying to have a few red days.

I'm getting a bit depressed going to group and hearing about people having good loses despite going over on syns! [moody]!

fustyarse · 23/05/2010 09:12

hello all, can I join you?

Joined online on Friday after being on WW and having no joy, Sw seems much less restrictive although I can't figure out how eating what you like will lead to weight loss?!

Can someone answer a couple of questions for me please?

Are you meant to eat all your syns every day? I take it it's ok to 'save' them up and use them when you know you've got a night out or something planned?

Are you supposed to mix around red, green and EE days? I thought I was signing up for the EE plan but every day when I log on to my food diary it gives me the options of each Should I stick with EE?

the reports of decent weight loss here are v encouraging - well done to all! I have about 1 1/2 - 2 stone to lose.

broccolitrees · 25/05/2010 08:41

hello fustyarse

re your syns, you don't have to eat them all. just eat them and count them if you fancy something that isn't free and try not to go over 15. you can do 'flexi syns' which allows you to go over on a night out - you just make sure that you all count them even if you go way over, but it's not recommended that you do that everytime, and it doesn't guarantee that you will lose weight.

re which day you're on doesn't matter whether you do ee, red or green just stick to whichever one you choose all day

found a good recipe that is free on green or ee, for those missing bread, it's not the same but has the stodge factor and is really good with chutney; the next time i am going to add different herds and garlic etc. i imagine it would be good with jam or honey too if you prefer that to savoury.

prepare some couscous with bovril stock. beat an egg and soome fat-free fromage frais together.
pour onto couscous and mix.
bake in oven at 180C for 25-30 minutes til top crispy.
enjoy

broccolitrees · 25/05/2010 08:42

sorry am crap with amounts - i just sort of guess the amounts i want. and i should have said you need a line tin to bake it in
