Is it a SW recipe Shreks? I'd like to give that a go

Nappyaddict - don't know, sorry.

nappyaddict · 25/03/2010 03:40

Planned what I'm having tomorrow - broccoli and leek bake with tuna fishcakes and sweet potato wedges.

nappyaddict · 25/03/2010 03:53

Has anyone tried the rice with muller thing with pudding rice yet? Is it any better than using normal rice or not?

Casserole · 26/03/2010 20:00

Not tried it yet but I reckon it would be nicer. Need to do an online shop so I'll put some in. I think as a treat I might try doing a baked rice pudding in the oven; cook the rice with water, splenda and egg, stir in a vanilla ML toward the end and then grate some nutmeg over the top.....

Didn't get weighed this week as been away at a funeral; hoped to get back in time to go to a diff class but no luck thanks to the motoroway. Spent 10 hours out of 24 driving yesterday. And I'm away now at uni for a week so won't be on much till next weekend. I can forsee lots of pasta salads in my next few days..... hope you're all doing well. Cx

ps Beth? How you feeling? x

whoops · 28/03/2010 09:03

Morning all!
Sorry have been missing for a couple of weeks! Just been quite busy and not sticking to it properly!

Does anyone have the food of the worlds cookbook? We had a tasting session on Thursday and someone made a dish using bulgar wheat and salad and just wondered if someone could let me have the recipe as I thought it was nice and also something I could have for lunch!

Casserole · 01/04/2010 18:31

Hey all

Back from all my being away. Weighed in last night and another 2.5lbs gone - that's over the last fortnight so not as good as it sounds but given that I've had very little control over my meals whilst being away I was pleased with that.

Back now. Just doing an online shop to restock the house and looking forward to cooking fresh food again instead of living off of caterers, vending machines and petrol station fodder! And I've ordered some pudding rice, so will report back

Casserole · 07/04/2010 19:45

Where ARE you all? I am lonely [sulky emoticon]

Another 1.5lbs off tonight. I should be encouraged, I know. Just keep thinking about the other 1.5 million to go.

Ah well. Onwards and, erm, downwards, hopefully.

StrawberriesAndCherries · 08/04/2010 19:28

Well done Casserole, you are dong so well. How much have you lost altogether?

Casserole · 08/04/2010 20:03

Yay, a friend! Only half a stone so far. Lost another half a stone before Christmas so a stone in total. Another 3 to go, really, but we shan't think about that tonight (especially not since I just had pizza)

How about you, are you doing SW too?

Oh bollocks, just realise I forgot to ask the online password AGAIN, that's 2 weeks in a row I've forgotten to ask. Damn. What's the deal, can I ring my lady and ask?

StrawberriesAndCherries · 08/04/2010 21:22

Mine always texts me back when i ask her as i dont go every week now. I am at target having lost 2 stone, though to be honest i have easily another stone before i am at a good BMI, but am slimmer than have been for YEARS!!
It's a brillian plan isnt it - I am never hungry unless I have gone off plan. Have been eating chocolate non-stop this week so must get back onto it before I sabotage my good works

smallblackflowers · 10/04/2010 09:47

Hello ladies, mind if I join you?

I joined SW on Thursday, and am just getting to grips with it all!
I found the group to be quite miserable though, with few weight losses and those that did lose saying things like 'I don't know how that happened'....are your groups all like this, or is it just a case of Easter eggs getting the better of everyone!

Anyway, my brilliant plan is to lose loads of weight and be really positive about it at the group (says she who's only been following the plan for a day!)

Casserole · 10/04/2010 11:01

Yes, I haven't stayed for the group bit after the first week! Which does mean I'm spending a fiver a week just to get weighed, which is a bit stupid, but the group bit depressed me! I keep meaning to give it another go but then I get weighed and think "oh, I could be home in 5 minutes...."

Your plan sounds good to me

And welcome, by the way! It's been quiet here, not sure where everyone is (eating easter eggs?!?) but you're v welcome

Had an off plan day yesterday - drank lots of wine last night as had friends round. I cooked chicken with cashew nuts though and it was lovely and not too bad points wise, though I cooked it with (gasp) OIL rather than fry-light, which I'm finding generally rubbish I have to say. I also made the slimming world baked chocolate cheesecake and it was - wait for it - NICE! Gadzooks!

smallblackflowers · 10/04/2010 22:01

Thanks for the welcome Casserole

Well, I've successfully made it through day 2, and had my first alcohol free friday and saturday nights for ages. I've got a feeling that alcohol money will now be spent on mullerlight yoghurts - have consumed 3 today . Chocolate cheesecake sounds good - is the recipe on the SW website?

Casserole · 11/04/2010 13:05

Yes, it is - there's a berry cheesecake on there too that sounds nice. And I've made the mango and orange mousse of there too, that was nice as well.

Well done on the alcohol freeness. I had people round to dinner on Friday night got quite squiffy on 3 glasses of wine, thanks to abstaining so much - I even had a hangover!

Mullerlights - I ate a stupid amount of them at first, have reined it in a bit now but I think at first they are very useful to get you over the initial shock of no puddings! I pour the vanilla one over fruit and cereal, though now I just use half of one at a time, to save £££ and calories. Have you tried the black cherry wth choc sprinkles one? It's like black forest gateau in a pot

Trying to be a bit better today, I've been sneaking bits of chocolate here and there from easter eggs etc and not counting it - needs to stop. Just had a lovely roast dinner, made roast potatoes with fry light and they actually worked really well. So I'm stuffed now and don't want anything sweet anyway.

smallblackflowers · 11/04/2010 16:48

Will def need to look up puds on the website - had some weightwatchers banoffee puds in the freezer and discovered last night that they are 8 1/2 syns each, so in the freezer they will have to stay!
Went out for lunch with friends today to Pizza express - very proud of myself for having a salad, no dressing and only eating 1 1/2 of the dough sticks that came with it. Feeling a bit peckish now though! Will have to tuck in to my 1st mullerlight of the day. And yes, I have tried the black cherry with choc sprinkles - yummy!

I put my easter egg into a sandwich bag and hid it in a kitchen cupboard. When it was out on the side I couldn't help myself. Out of sight out of mind and all......

Casserole · 11/04/2010 20:19

I'm currently defrosting a WW choc eclair - any idea on their syn value?! Can't get on website to check until I remember to ask consultant for flipping password. I don't really care what the answer is though - I'm still going to eat it!!

Franniban · 12/04/2010 20:45

Hello, may I join in? I've got back on the wagon today. Am sick of being fat and heading towards 40. I went to see an old school friend this weekend and she pulled out some photos of me about 2 years ago and I couldn't beleive how big I looked! This has really motivated me, along with the possibility of a holiday in Thailand this summer and I really really don't want to be lardy for that!
I can't afford to go back to classes, so hoping to get support from you ladies.

I've dug out my old books, but can't quiet get my head round the Easy Extra thing.
Anyway, I've got a stack of stones to loose. Red day green day here I come.

StrawberriesAndCherries · 12/04/2010 22:02

Hi Franniban and welcome!! It is such a good plan and great if you (me) have fallen off the wagon

The extra easy is basically everything that is free on either plan you can eat, just have one A healthy eating option and one B instead of 2 of each.

clutteredup · 14/04/2010 14:10

Hi can i join in too?
I've been doing SW since Jan and have lost 18lbs - I've got 10lbs to go to my first target but want to lose another 7 on top of that but seem to have come up against a bit of a stagnation. I had a good easter as went away and did lots of walking so only put on half a pound which I was actually pleased about but the week before when i was really good i only lost half a pound and this weeks been hard as its still school holidays and we had a day out yesterday and i gave in to proffered chocolate -I'm losing my resolve but so want to lose the weight before the summer.

Casserole · 14/04/2010 14:18

Welcome to both

It's hard to keep going when progress is slow. Sometimes I find it helps just t thin "but there's no choice - it's this or get bigger and bigger so I've just got to keep going"

Weigh in tonight. Don't feel much has changed this week but we'll see.

nappyaddict · 14/04/2010 14:57

Just discovered a new but fairly low syn comfort food!

Pasta with peanut butter and maple syrup sauce.

I cooked 100g pasta and some broccoli, carrots, peppers, peas and sweetcorn which I added to the pasta when cooked. Then I added 1/2 tablespoon each of worcester sauce, rice vinegar, peanut butter and maple syrup, maybe 1/8 teaspoon of ground ginger (double this amount if using fresh) and 3/4 teaspoon of minced garlic, chopped chives and black pepper to taste.

YUM!

clutteredup · 14/04/2010 15:12

Thanks casserole you're right - its the old is this more gratifying than losing weight mantra thing - i know it'll be easier when the DC are back at school and things settle into the routine again - I have squeezed (well jemmied) myself into my next size down asda £4 jeans today to motivate me - just to remind myself what I'm aiming for. Just had baked beans and baked potato for lunch and will have some salad to balance it with super free food - just feeling really tired today as had a busy day with DC out all day yeaterday and DD2 was up in the night. i think that's what I find hard is when I'm tired its hard to be good.
Good luck for your weigh in tonight.
nappyaddict that sounds nice I hadn't thought of adding that sort of thing to pasta - how many sys is it?

nappyaddict · 14/04/2010 16:04

I think it's 3 syns.
