I was lucky with the dougnuts as I found out they had all gone quite quickly!!
I made burgers last night and dh was quite impressed!

QandA · 09/02/2010 19:30

nappyaddict, you can knock yourself out with talk of chicken kebab meat, that's one meat that wouldn't lure me to the 'dark side' Though KFC may

Well done Montifer, 3lb loss is really good.

Whoops, sometimes it pays to have greedy hungry colleagues around.

I am having a bag of quavers and a small kit kat this evening (10 syns), think it is the 1st time I have used my syns up on junk snacks, but feeling the need for some junk.

Dh came to the rescue last night and managed to whip up a vegi chilli so managed to avoid the potato waffles and noodles!

StrawberriesAndCherries · 10/02/2010 22:02

aaaaaaaaaargh!!!! Nearly got to target - missed it by half a pound could have sneezed or done a quick wee and got there

Another week or paying to go!

bilblio · 10/02/2010 23:07

Hi,
Thought I'd join this thread, I'm rediscovering MN after a serious FB addiction.

Anyhow, I signed up to SW at the beginning of October and tonight I got my 2 stone award. I'm so chuffed!

I've still got another stone to go to get to my target weight, but in my head I'd sort of like to lose 2 stone. I've not been that weight since I was about 14 though so it might be too much and I don't want to keep paying and end up looking dreadful.
I'm now able to get in clothes that I had when I was 18 (don't ask why I've kept them for 14 years... I'm an eternal optimist.)

I've never dieted before, but found it really easy so far (mainly because my DP SAHD and a fantastic cook who does all the cooking and I don't have to think about it.) However I'm starting to stray, I keep getting cravings for chocolates and biscuits, so I'm hoping you lot will help me keep on track.

whoops · 12/02/2010 09:15

Well done bilblio and at having a dp that is a fantastic cook! Mine rarely cooks and if it is it's something he can throw in the oven!

I lost 3lb this week, am really chuffed as I have had the odd small bag of buttons!

Sparkler · 12/02/2010 12:40

Well done Whoops and Bilblio - fab weight losses.
I joined back Monday night (9th time lucky ) and I did really well Tuesday and Wednesday. Thursday started ok but then DH asked me if I wanted to meet up with him for lunch and we ended up going to an all you can eat chinese. I went in feeling motivated thinking I could work around it - lots of boiled rice, noodles and not too much of the sauce. Easier said than done!! . It didn't get much better last night once the all that had worn off and I started getting picky.
Ah well - back on track today. Going shopping in a minute so I can fill the fridge up with healthy stuff to get myself through the weekend and half term next week. Always seems harder when the kid's are off school, doesn't it?

nappyaddict · 12/02/2010 15:44

I've sort of eased myself in gradually rather than going cold turkey. I've been following the plan very loosely for about 4 weeks and have lost 5lbs so it's coming off but slowly. I am used to how it works now and have been finding myself naturally picking lower fat stuff so I think after this weekend I am going to start doing it properly now I'm in the right frame of mind.

Montifer · 12/02/2010 23:20

Have been doing really well all week, but tonight DP very kindly cooked dinner, paella with chicken, steak and chorizo - didn't really fit into my day at all and I feel like I've wasted all my syns
Oh well, will have to give my weekend wine a miss and plough on for monday weigh in.

Would appreciate any ideas of what to do with the tub of Quark in my fridge, think I only bought it because I like the sound of the word Quark

StrawberriesAndCherries · 13/02/2010 00:14

Montifer - if you have a sweet tooth then make up a sugar free jelly sachet, mix in the quark so the whole thing is a pint and whisk it. They suggested this in our club for a syn free mousse

Montifer · 13/02/2010 11:43

Thanks Strawberries and Cherries, I've got some jelly sachets lurking at the bottom of the cupboard, will give it a go

Sparkler · 14/02/2010 14:14

How's everyone getting on this weekend? Not too bad here today saying that it's the evenings that I struggle with.

whoops · 14/02/2010 16:56

Hi Sparkler!

I'm doing ok at the moment, did eat some cheese straws at work yesterday, because they were there & I was hungry!! And had a couple of jaffa cakes too when I got home as pudding!
Am trying to be good today, had an omlette for breakfast and Jacket potato with cheese & spagetti hoops for lunch. Trying to decide what to have for dinner as the rest of the family want sausage, beans and chips. I have pasta in the cupboard but no sauce type thing to have with it and really don't fancy plain pasta!!

Sparkler · 14/02/2010 20:02

Have you used your healthy A choice Whoops - could have grated some cheese on the top? Not very good with sauce ideas. Must be some on the SW website. We had lamb, potato (boiled for me and mash for DH and DDs) and carrots for tea. Had a bit of gravy with mine to make it more interesting. Think I'm gonna treat myself to a curly wurly tonight as only had gravy as syns today. Went on Wii Fit earlier and it showed I've lost 5lb since last play 6 days ago. Let's see tomorrow night what the Slimming World scales show.

whoops · 15/02/2010 09:14

Wow well done Sparkler, hope the wii fit is right
I found peppers and onions in the fridge so chopped them and some bacon and fried it all together (with frylight!) then shoved a tin of tomatoes in and mixed it with the pasta, it was ok but I put a bit too much garlic pepper in so it kinda blew my head off
Oh well will try it again without the pepper next time!!

nappyaddict · 16/02/2010 01:38

I would have had low syns sausage, syn free chips and beans.

nappyaddict · 16/02/2010 01:54

BTW is stripey socks still about? I want to know what the toffee and banana breakfast rice is that she mentions on her blog.

whoops · 16/02/2010 09:23

I would have nappy but I didn't have any low syn sausages available.
I'm going to Harvester for lunch today and going to fill up on their salad!! Have chicken I think! makes a change to the usual jacket potato!!!

Sparkler · 17/02/2010 00:04

Ooooops - naughty day today . Wasn't going to have a pancake but gave in and had one and a half - felt really sick after that lot. I've also skipped breakfast and not really had much of a lunch. That will teach me!!
Back on track tomorrow. I need to sit and meal plan to be honest. It's a bit all over the place this week having DD's home for half term.

whoops · 17/02/2010 12:36

Ha ha sparkler!!
You weren't as naughty as me {blush]
I didn't have pancakes but I did have....

A rocky horror dessert at the harvester after I was good and had grilled chicken with Jacket potato!!!

Sparkler · 17/02/2010 18:42

Ah Whoops! You were still conscious of what you were having though - you could have ended up with chicken covered in cheese with chips or something and then had the pud!
I don't feel I've been much better today but it's more the lack of eating today - it's just been rush, rush and I've skipped lunch. Going to try and be good and have a good tea. I need to go shopping and get stuff in - not sure when I'm going to get chance to go on a childfree shop where I can concentrate on getting what I need though

nappyaddict · 18/02/2010 15:12

I'm enjoy stuffed veg at the moment - peppers, aubergines, tomatoes etc. Just had stuffed tomatoes - really easy. Just cut them in half and scoop out the middle. Then mush up the pulp and combine with HEA of grated cheese, chopped onions, some bacon or ham, clove of crushed garlic and freshly chopped herbs. Add pepper and crack an egg over the top. Bake cut side up for about 10 minutes at 200 degrees C. Serve with a nice salad.

nappyaddict · 18/02/2010 15:55

Just decided that I'm goin to have frittata for tea. Going to chop up a big beef tomato, an onion, some fresh herbs, stir in a tin of tuna or salmon and pour 3 beaten eggs over the top. Will serve with salad dressed with balsamic vinegar and perhaps some coleslaw or potato salad.

Am really enjoying my salady type things at the moment. Yesterday I enjoyed a massive plate of cooked meats, potato salad, pasta salad, florida salad, coleslaw, hard boiled eggs, corn on the cob, peppers, salad and a jacket potato followed by fruit salad and mouse jelly for dessert.

nappyaddict · 18/02/2010 16:04

BTW that frittata was for me and DS. If cooking for just me I use a normal sized tomato, half an onion, 2 eggs and half a tin of tuna.

whoops · 18/02/2010 16:09

Wow those ideas are great nappy!

I've been having an omlette for breakfast this week and I haven't wanted to eat anything til lunchtime and even then I haven't been that bothered!!

Weigh in tonight hopefully it'll be ok, someone is leaving tomorrow and they brought cakes in today, I did sneak a couple of little flapjack square things this morning and then had a brisk walk to the post room!

I was talking to another woman in the office that is doing slimming world and she is finding it as easy as I am! we have exchanged ideas too, she didn't know about the mug shots being 0 syns so I think like me she'll be stocking up on those!
