Whoops - I used to take a huge tub of grapes and strawberries to work with me. Helped take that sweet craving away from me and were good to just pick at. Well done on your half a stone loss, you're doing really well!

Montifer · 05/02/2010 22:35

Well done on the half stone Whoops.

Watch out with the raisins, they are 4 syns for a measly 28g, I'm currently going cold turkey from my raisin scoffing habit.

Grapes however are free.

nappyaddict · 06/02/2010 00:11

I had KFC tonight on the extra easy plan. Yum! I had large beans, corn on the cob, regular popcorn chicken and a chicken strip. Chicken strips and wings are 4 syns each, drumsticks are 5.5 syns each, thighs and chicken salad with no dressing are 9 syns each, regular popcorn chicken is 10.5 and a portion of original chicken without dressing is 7 syns. Beans and corn on cob with no butter are free but coleslaw is 5.5 syns for regular and 11.5 syns for large. Regular fries is 10 syns and large fries is 13 syns so I opted to go without the fries and have the free sides instead.

MamaG · 06/02/2010 06:18

well done on your half stone whoops

I tihnk I'm doing ok, but can't get onto SW online to check a few syn values, are we not alloewd to post the password on here any more?

I too have started a new job but they have a rule that you can't eat at your desk, so no snacking for me which is good.

I'd second grapes though for picking at, or chopped up fruit of any kind really

Re choc cravings, i eat a supermarket version of kitkat r e a l l y s l o w l y and pretend its a family sized Dairy Milk!

StrawberriesAndCherries · 06/02/2010 15:23

Well done Whoops! It's a great feeling getting the milestones isnt it.
I find re the choc cravings that the SW Orange and choc bars really help. I try and save 2 for an evening "binge" with a cuppa and that and a long hot bath helps!

Am only 2lbs away from target, really hoping to get there this week. Extra Easy and scan bran have helped to fill me up a lot so i havent been having all the syns.

And MamaG, I think someone said we are not allowed to and might get MN into trouble, so all i will say is that you mentioned the word in your post, and it is always a healthy eating option

EccentricaGallumbits · 06/02/2010 16:59

Evenin all.
been slimming worlding for 4 weeks now. lost 1 whole stone

amgoing out tonight with mother and DDs and suspect that i'm going to blow my weeks syn count.
any tips how to not get sidetracked by a bottle of wine, pizza, garlic bread and pudding?

Sparkler · 06/02/2010 17:04

Volunteer to be driver and drink diet drinks or go out and enjoy yourself with everything and get back on track tomorrow?

Sparkler · 06/02/2010 17:04

...and of course, congrats on that fantastic weight loss of a stone in FOUR weeks!!!

EccentricaGallumbits · 06/02/2010 17:14

I wil drive as my back is knackered and DDs knees are playing up. and mother doesn't drink so would be tempted to drink a whole bottle and then fall over on the way home.

suppose i'm a bit scared of letting go (control freakery) and never regaining it again.

The 1 stone is but a dent in the mountain of lard I have become.

QandA · 06/02/2010 22:19

I had a pizza night a while back Eccentrica and just had a glass of wine, 2 slice of pizza and small handful of fries, it didn't set me off track. I have found that sticking to SW and then limiting portion size when 'off plan' really works (so far!)

Glad to see a bit more action on here, thought It had died a slow death.

Agree with Montifer about the raisins, what a waste of syns

Hope you get to your target strawberries.

Sparkler · 06/02/2010 22:29

I seem to have got myself back onto this thread purely by asking about the syn value of a muller yog. I'm not even following the plan yet!! I must get back to group soon (have been a previous member many, many, MANY times )
Hopefully will be posting like you all soon with lots of fabby weight losses!

Sparkler · 06/02/2010 22:30

EccentricaGallumbits - Doesn't matter how much you've lost or have to lose, 1 stone is fantastic!!

whoops · 07/02/2010 21:31

I've been worried about hockey teas this weekend as we had away matches and never know what they are (when we are at home it tends to be pasta bolognese type thing so don't worry about it too much but yesterday was bread, butter ham, cheese & tomatoes so I limited what I had, and today I was really pleased to get there and find they had roast pork, chips & sarnies so I went for the roast pork, treating myself to 1 roast potato and a small serving of gravy! didn't touch the rest. I also had a snack pot of fruit between the pitch and the pub we went to for teas so I would feel fuller!

Well done Whoops, hope you are feeling suitably virtuous.

I enjoyed a fabulous roast beef dinner courtesy of my Mum tonight and have just totted up my consumption in my food diary.
Am amazed to find that even with a Yorkshire pud and small serving of delicious pannetone bread and butter pudding, I reckon I'm within my allowance for the day.
Am weighing in a day early this week, only signed up last Tuesday, suppose that will be the moment of truth

nappyaddict · 08/02/2010 00:22

Had another takeaway tonight It was spontaneous so wasn't sure what would be low syn. I usually have Dhansak or Rogan Josh so I went for the Rogan Josh. Just found out both dishes are only 6.5 syns so really happy with that! Went for pilau rice over boiled (free) rice cos didn't think it could be too many syns - luckily it was only 2.5 syns and 1 poppadum which was 4 syns. Figured a naan would be over my daily syn allowance so resisted from one of those!

whoops · 08/02/2010 11:40

How good am I being? Someone has brought Krispy Kreme doughnuts into the office and has been telling us we have to have one but I have kept away and told him he really didn't want to be the reason I didn't lose weight this week!!

MamaG · 08/02/2010 11:47

i lost 1/2 a stone lasgt week and then ate fish and chips

Have not re-weighed yet

well done on resisting temptation tho, esp the krispy kreme doughnut [drool]

whoops · 08/02/2010 11:59

well done MamaG!
I am drooling at the mo but they must be hidden in the fridge and I will not look!!
although they are only about 14-15syns so could get away with eating one but I have already had 4 syns with having a couple of snack a jacks!

MamaG · 08/02/2010 12:01

Just imagine there's an earwig currently luxuriating in the creamy filling of every one

whoops · 08/02/2010 12:12

Ewwwwww!

QandA · 08/02/2010 18:38

Am struggling today to stack on track, due to the minimal food in the house. Didn't go shopping today as planned so it is slim pickings here.

Trying to work out if super noodles and potato waffles are worth the syn value!

I have just hit my 2 stone weight loss, (weigh in at home) but can't make it to the next two meetings so want to do my best to keep that up, though have a few days away so that might be a bit tricky. Can't believe it has only taken 3 months and has been relatively easy to stick to.

Nappy addict, do you mind not posting the amazing meals you keep having, especially when I am hungry I am easily swayed and think ooh yes please That's even with me being a vegetarian

QandA · 08/02/2010 18:49

Am also clearly struggling to spell, that should obviously be stay on track rather than stack on track

nappyaddict · 09/02/2010 00:08

QandA Should I not mention the chicken kebab meat I had earlier then? Cannot believe a small one is 5 syns and a large one 8 syns - I went for the large with lots of salad

You should join me and have a vegetarian version of my curries. They seem to be even less syns than the meat ones I've been having. I still can't quite believe I can eat this stuff and be within my syn allowance! Sounds too good to be true.

Montifer · 09/02/2010 11:07

Hoorah, 3lbs off in my 1st week and that was with full syn allowance everyday

I've done a 6 week countdown and am wondering if I can lose a stone in that time.

Last time I did SW I got off to a stonking start and then dilly dallied for the last half stone, hope I can keep on track this time.
