Just seen this advertised in National Press.

Has anyone ever tried it?

Is it pricey?

More to the point, Does it really work?

I'm intrigued..... I had never heard of this programme before...

hope it goes well for you! im starting with the chocolate shake for breakfast, as it seems the most simple to make, also as i have to take asprin, they said that the shakes are quite filling and should line my stomach better.

i'm just having my last cup of tea with milk! i only have one or 2 cups a day, but do enjoy them, so will miss that!

There is 2 threads about this, not sure how to link them ???

I have bought a box of twinings mint teas to try and crave my tea fetish. Luckily I drink black coffee till lunchtime anyway.

Report
cenglish · 21/01/2010 15:32

can you have herbal tea?

Report
Friendlypizzaeater · 21/01/2010 19:37

You can have the mint, calomine, green ones, think you have to take any of the other flavoured ones (fruit) in for them to check

Report
sailsclo · 22/01/2010 12:10

the book says you can have herb teas and light teas, but im not sure if this includes fruit teas.

be careful though as a friend of mine used to drink lots of green tea and mader herself very ill, apparently you are not meant to drink it in vast amounts!

i did struggle a bit yesterday, not from being hungry or wanting other stuff, but i found it awkward fitting it all in! in the end i had to stay up for an extra couple of hours to make sure i had time to have all my sachets!

i also found that after drinking them, my insides got the shakes for about an hour! a very weird feeling!

I wasnt over keen on the chocolate dessert. but the hot chocolate & beef & onion soup were ok. the bacon and egg omlette was better than i expected. i made my 200g of swede into chips.

i had problems fitting it all in to the right time slot and inbetween going backwards and forwards to the school, gym and swimming etc

Now I wasn't organised and didn;t have much in so I ended up eating a bag of ready lettuce from the shop (bargain though reduced to 10p) think the car at the side of me at the lights thought I was mad stuffing lettuce in. I had the bacon omlette thing last night with celery in it, thought it was OK. Had asparagus soup today for dinner - thought this was nice with a huge bowl of red cabbage. Am doing a shop later so can bu some more food to make stuff with. For tea I am having a pizza.

Had a forest fruit dessert earlier, not too keen but thought it might be nice frozen (can we do that ???)

Report
sailsclo · 22/01/2010 15:28

yes ive heard other people saying they have frozen stuff! earlier i had the caramel drink, which was quite nice (used a straw - it went down quicker!) and ive just had a cappucino which was passable too.

its a bit difficult for me as im trying to keep it a secret from family n friends, so i think that during the day its easier for me to have the drinks and then i can have the meals in the evening when theyve gone home!

I was thinking about having the pizza tonight aswell, i presume that the sachet is just the base, so would you add the veg to it while its raw and cook it together? or cook the base then throw the veg on after? Ive saved a tomato (from lunch ration) to go on it too!!!

Friendlypizzaeater · 22/01/2010 16:12

I'm keeping it a secret too - don't want the lectures about it (which I'm sure will come .....)

Think you make the base then add veg then cook, will know later. Just about to have a hot choc which I quite like. the caramel drink sounds nice, might get that one next week.

Ooh = just noticed we stared at the same time, be interesting to see how we get on.

Been to the shops and bought some stuff so am going to do roasted veg with my pizza, then all the family can have the veg.

i'm keepin it a secret too, because i dont want the lectures of how much it costs.

today first day on food, and not doing bad. had porridge horrible. Cappacino passable. But love the curry soup.

Had first treatments last night, dont know if its just by brain tricking me but tried on a pair of jeans that are always really super tight and uncomfortable to wear and they are ok today.

Tryin to drink lots of water

Pizza instructions : Mix the contents of the pizza base sachet with 70ml of cold water.

Knead it thoroughly with your hands. NO blender.

Roll as thinly as sensibly possible with a rolling pin on to a teflon baking sheet.

BEFORE adding the topping, bake the base for 12 minutes at 180 degrees C, turning it over once after 6 minutes.

Mix the contents of the topping with 30ml of cold water while the base is cooking. So long as it spreads out on to the base, the thicker the better.

After the 12 minutes spread the topping on to the base, add any further topping you like and cook at the 180 degrees C for a further 6 minutes.

Re Pizza, search the ALizonne forum for Pizza Guru (in the recipes), but be prepared - it tastes like no pizza you have ever eaten before.

For the tea - I drank the redbush tea. Even though I've finished I still drink it in preference to normal tea and I used to be a real tea aholic.

Hated the pizza ! Put cherry toms and mushrooms on it and a little garlic salt, still tasted rubbish.....

luckily had a huge pile of runner beans and braised celery to fill me up, managed about 3/4 of the pizza

Report
sailsclo · 22/01/2010 21:13

well luckily for me...... i didnt have pizza!!! im such a numpty! i bought the selection boxes and i was sure i had pizza in one of them! but didnt!

so tonight i had the omlette with herbs, wasnt sure if id like it, but it was quite nice! think i even preferred it to the one with bacon.

I had it with 150g of swede, made into chips (had a tomato earlier so only had 150g of rations left!) i had the chips a little bit crunchy, as they take longer to eat so fill you up that little bit more and i thought they would act as a bit of roughage??

also had some brocoli and runner beans.

think im gonna struggle to stay awake long enough to fit in my last sachet for today, aswell as find some room in my belly for it!!!

friendly pizzaeater................... yes i had seen that we started together, i tried to send you a message, with my email address as thought we could help each other! but it wouldnt let me unless i pay for it! (havent looked to see how much yet!) I have 6 stone to shift!!!

other than the pizza, have any of you found any that are really awful?

Report
SmileyMylee · 22/01/2010 21:24

Stay clear of - tomato soup, strawberry milkshake and fruits of the forest yoghurt. These made me feel ill. Also the pastas were inedible!

i did see some where else that people were freezing some of the drinks!

i used a straw with the caramel one, it went down quite well, but at first you do expect it to be colder than it is!!!
