Just seen this advertised in National Press.

Has anyone ever tried it?

Is it pricey?

More to the point, Does it really work?

I'm intrigued..... I had never heard of this programme before...

sorry mistake i am not 53 but 5 foot 3 and 13 stones want to get to 10 stones 4

attley · 21/12/2009 14:34

Hi guys. You can go to the gym, in fact on phase 2 of the diet they recommend it. You may find when you start the diet (phase 1) you feel too tired and weak to do much for the first few days but it does get better. If you do a lot of exercise you have 6 sachets a day rather than 5 to make sure you don't start burning muscle mass. I had 5 stone to lose and have lost 3 1/2 since October. The sachets can be a bit difficult after a while but they do do a recipe forum where fellow dieters post their recipes. I stuck to plain ones until I felt confident then started experimenting and you can do quite a bit tho' the life saver is the curry! I have lost all my cellulite and actually that went very fast, after about 3 treatments, I have a 16 yr old's bum now, just hope they don't want it back at any point! Re fat deposits the doctor examines you and decides where to place the ultra sound and after a few weeks you have a re examine and the pads can be moved so any problem areas are dealt with. As you might gather I love this diet/treatment!

kurves · 26/12/2009 08:45

hi just wanted to know how everyone t that is on the alizonne diet coped over the holidays. and is anyone going to start it in January.

SmileyMylee · 26/12/2009 20:49

I've posted before but haven't been checking this regularly. I've now lost 8 stones on ALizonne and am about 1 stone off target. My body has toned up but I still have a tummy! The doctor says that it is now empty fat cells and it will get a bit better but the only option to get rid of it would be a tummy tuck (but most of my excess 9 stones was on my tummy). I have gone down from a size 26/28 to a 12/14 and with clothes on I look pretty good, but wouldn't wear a bikini.

I took myself off the diet for 2 weeks to enjoy Christmas. However last night I discovered (totally unexpectedly given we had been taking precautions) that I am pregnant so I guess the diet will be on hold for a little while now!

kurves · 27/12/2009 15:42

Smileymylee What good news that you are pregnant and have lost so much weight what will they suggest that you do now . I guess you have to stop but i do not think how matter how hard you try you will put on 8 stones . You must be over the moon as i said before that i have 3 stones to lose and cannot wait . I any one out there starting in jan i need a diet pal.

SmileyMylee · 27/12/2009 22:53

They will make me stop as it wouldn't be safe for the baby, but as soon as I have finished breastfeeding I will be back on it! I am determined to last that last stone (and the other 3 I will put on when pregnant!)

Good luck with the diet, it really does work, but the hard bit is keeping it off afterwards

kurves · 28/12/2009 14:14

will they not give you a metabolic test to see how much calories you can consume so that you do not put on too much weight . I hear they have a alizonne light then when finished you can do that just be careful what you eat and try to go walking swimming so on. I have started a new thread so that people can chat about alizonne this one is very quiet.

SmileyMylee · 28/12/2009 18:34

I'm really trying hard not to pig out, but 6 months without cheese and I have over indulged a little. At least I have to keep off the wine and brie!

I hadn't thought about the metabolic rate test - I will ask for that.

Can't find your new thread. Can you do a link.

derevkofan · 30/12/2009 13:53

I'm on day 5 of this diet and I'm currently dizzy and hungry but reading what other people have written is inspiring me to keep going as I believe the hunger will go soon! I love the soups (mushroom and asparagus) and the omelette. Not too sure about the texture of the desserts and the strawberry shake smells repulsive but I'm hoping it will be worth it in the end. When does the constantly going to the loo to pee get better??

kurves · 30/12/2009 16:13

hi derevkofan well done and keep it up i start on the 13 of jan i have another thread going titled emotional eater going on alizonne diet you can join me their and we can support each other how much do you have to lose . smileylee has had a lot of success and has lost 8 stones so that should motivate you a bit and i guess coming on the forum will help cause then you find people that you can relate to. i guess that the constant peeing is to do with the fact that you are drinking alot of water and your body is going through a detox process. I guess it will settle please do not give up. it will be worth it in the end when you regain your beautiful figure . where are you doing it at alizonne or at another partner clinic. just hold on may be today will be your last day of feeling hungry. keep us posted let us know how you feel later or tomrrow.

SmileyMylee · 30/12/2009 19:54

Yes, the strawberry milkshake is vile, but not as bad as the tomato soup or pasta.

The hot chocolate and vanilla dessert were my favourites. I used to make the vanilla dessert up as a milshake and that was nice with lots of ice. Also hot with a spoonful of coffee and it tasted like a Latte(ish!)

The peeing does get better! It is just a sign that you are going into Ketosis I think. It also means all that fat is starting to leave your body.

The desserts are better if you make them a bit runnier and then chill them.

SmileyMylee · 01/01/2010 14:00

No problems! Just make sure you buy extra boxes in your first week as you may not like all of them. You can swap any you don't like in the clinic afterwards.

saz1305 · 10/01/2010 14:55

New to the site and have been reading all the notes about Alizonne... My question is is there anyone on here who's done it some time ago? i'd like to know what happened when you stopped the 'program' as such?

Was it hard? How many calories did they say you could have? Do they follow up on your progress or just leave you to it?

It sounds like one of those 'to good to be true' things but if £2000 can help me shift 4 stone then you now what, i think i know where my work bonus will be going. Any updates or responses would be great.

P.S I'd be going to the Maidenhead Clinic if i did it, has anyone else been there and are they any good?

kurves · 10/01/2010 16:27

Hi i will be going to the maidenhead clinic too on Wednesday i have started a thread called emotional eater going on the alizonne diet. you can join me there with the other ladies. i will let you know how i got on when i speak to them on the phone they seem to be great well they said that its not easy but i guess it will take a motivation of steel.

attley · 10/01/2010 17:43

Some people keep the weight off and others don't. The key is changing your eating habits the diet can only get you to the point where you can start to keep the weight off. They do have a therapist there you can see if you have a problem with your relationship with food, compulsive eating, depression etc. I am now official NOT fat! hurrah! BMI in healthy range for the first time in years.

kurves · 10/01/2010 19:58

attley do you have to pay extra to see a therapist how did you do on the diet attley was it really tough i am here just waiting to start but getting a bit nervous.

sailsclo · 11/01/2010 10:54

Hello all, I'm a newbie here! (so be gentle with me!!! ;-)

Before I had my kids I was quite happy with my size, but then I put on loads of weight when carrying my daughter (now 5yrs old), she was only a few months old when I fell pregnant with my son (4 yrs old) and he was only a baby when I suffered a stroke (aged 34)

I cant seem to shift any weight atall, I need to get rid of at least 6 stone!!! its not through lack of trying! I go to the gym 4 mornings a week, water aerobics 1 morning a week, swimming 2 evenings a week. I also have an 85' allotment, which I dig and care for by myself, We have 2 dogs that I also take for long walks. also since the stroke I am unable to drive so I walk nearly every where!!!

As you can see im quite active, but I really cant seem to shift any weight atall, I dont spend all day eating either, and although we have the odd meal out or take away, we do eat quite healthily, grow all my own veg etc.

Any way I enquired into alizonne a while back and have been searching the net for write ups on it, and other than a few people saying they dont like the strawberry shake or the tomato soup, i cant find any negative reports! I presume this is a good sign??

SOooo i'm going to Brentwood on Thursday for my first meeting, I know I have to fast for blood tests, but what else should I expect on my first visit? I cant wait to go and get started, but im not very brave when meeting new people and going to new places, so I'm starting to feel a bit nervy!

How does it work, do I just pay a weekly charge, or pay for the food seperately? when does the treatment start, week 2????

I thought i'd find alizonne on places like face book and twitter, but cant seem to find any mention of it at all!!!!!!!!!!! x

SmileyMylee · 11/01/2010 11:40

Sailsclo - good luck on Thursday. I lost 8 stones on Alizonne but had to stop half a stone off target as got pregnant. My DH lost 5 and a half. I've put on a few kilos since I stopped but my morning sickness has made me a bit of a carb monster at the moment, but I feel I now have to discipline to keep it under control once the nausea has passed.

You normally see the doctor who weighs you, checks your body fat percentage and inspects you in your underwear to see where your fat is. They do a full medical history. They then assess whether you are suitable for the diet and talk you through it and give you a projection (including costs) of how long it will take. You will have your metabollic rate taken.

If you are happy to go ahead you then book in to have a treatment (you may have to wait a few days for this). You buy your foods at your first treatment.

You pay each time you visit (either doctor's review and bloods) or food and treatment.

I haven't been to Brentwood but the people at the London clinic are lovely and so helpful.

Good luck with the diet!

attley · 11/01/2010 13:15

Hi Kurves.
Yes the therapist is extra as he is self employed as opposed to being part of Alizonne, but he knows the treatment and understands the diet, and I think at some clinics they hire a room there tho' am not 100% sure as haven't used the one at ours. I am still on the diet and am going to try without him once I hit target BUT if my old eating habits start to creep back I will book an appointment. Good Luck with it...

sailsclo · 11/01/2010 21:27

THANK YOU smileyMylee, OMG i'll have to buy some new knickers then! LOL

thanks for all the info, i'll let you all know how it goes on Thursday.

Congrats on your pregnancy, when are you due? you've done so well to loose all that weight, im sure you wont put it on again, and other than morning sickness you must feel amazing? x

sailsclo · 16/01/2010 00:32

Well ive been for my initial meeting, bought my new bridget jones's! big enough to use as a sling for a small child...............but not for much longer eh?

I did complain though, that the before and after pictures that they use in their adverts are a bit misleading, most say some thing like 'after 10 weeks' or after '12 weeks' the Dr did agree with me that they are a bit miss leading as he said that although the pics are real in the number of the weeks, it does fail to say that after the 10 or 12 weeks thats NOT the end of the treatment and that most people stay on the diet/plan for around 6 months ish.

Which means my initial workings out on the money side is going to be a whole lot more than I had planned to spend.

I have 6 stone to shift, he has estimated 6 mths, but said with all the activities that I already do (i.e gym, swimming, walking, allotment etc etc), it will probably be just over 4 months

Hows every one else getting on???????
