Just seen this advertised in National Press.

Has anyone ever tried it?

Is it pricey?

More to the point, Does it really work?

I'm intrigued..... I had never heard of this programme before...

Hi All

I start a week today at Stockport - all help and tips gratefully received!

sailsclo · 16/04/2010 07:44

Hi lilocas,

Does BTW stand for Brentwood? if so i'll probably see you there!

lilocas · 18/04/2010 22:22

yes, Brentwood. This is day 3 for me, so far so good! What was everyones forst week weight loss? I am aiming for 7 lbs, is that realistic?

Pixie1979 · 18/04/2010 22:43

Lilocas,

This is day 7 for me... one week nearly done! I have lost about 7lbs, it is realistic but i do a fair bit of exercise and my metabolic rate was measured at 1920 so they said I might lose it quickly but others have lost a lot in their first 2 weeks.

Dellfish · 18/04/2010 23:01

Hi
Am booked for consultation next Saturday in Leeds and thought I would be able to start the diet straightaway, but obviously you have to wait for the blood tests? Feel really motivated having read all your messages so thankyou to everyone. Watch this space!!!

Pixie1979 · 19/04/2010 10:03

Hi Dellfish,

I would wait until you have your blood tests done and then you can discuss them at the consultation - then you can start.

Some people start beforehand but then if they can not do the diet for any reason they seem to get lumbered with all the food and tablets and I don't think Alizonne refund them (from what I gather from one or two people in the forum.)

I've just finished week one and loat about 7lbs - not sure where it has been lost from but hopefully after another 7lbs and I get to 13st I should se a difference - I'm aiming for somewhere between 10st and 11st, not sure exactly yet as not sure what might suit my frame and height of 5ft 8in.

Good to see you have the motivation!

The food packets are ok. I would highly recommend the chocolate and pear dessert, it's not a bar of Dairy Milk but it's going to be the closest we get to chocolate for a while!

Also the omlettes are good and the pizza is not bad if you liek savoury more than sweet stuff. I had it last night for the first time and stuck a mushroom on top.

The strawberry shake tastes like powdered poison but everyone has their own tastes. The orange and pineapple drink is nice, it tastes a bit like those vitamin C drinks or strong orange squash.

I find some of the foods quite salty like the potato pie and some of the soups.

If you get stuff you don't like you can always swap it.

The vanilla dessert is supposed to be good too but apparently it is out of stock at the main warehouse so I haven't seen it for dust!

Also, 200g per day of swede or turnip chips are good! My South African friend recommended me a salt and vinegar seasoning made by Robertsons that you can get in any South African shop - it tastes great!

You just have to work your way round the packets to see what you like!

xbella91x · 19/04/2010 12:40

Hi All,

Got my first consultation tomorrow morning in Brentwood eek ;) cant wait!!

I go on holiday next week though so not starting the diet until beginning of May to make sure I dont fall by the waistline abroad.

I keep reading about people adding seasoning and other foods to their meals on this forum.. can this be done in phase 1 or is it afterwards?

I suppose due to the strict diet, I am a little sceptical about adding things just in case it sabotages the plan.

espirit · 19/04/2010 13:28

I have booked an appt next week with dr kim in the london clinic.

I am suffering from thyroid and jus lost my 7mth baby last mth. I need to lose a lot of weight. Is there anyone who had thyroid and has been able to sucessfully lose all the weight and has it brought the thyroid levels down? I am planning to take up a job to pay for alizonne. Is it easier if we r working? Or its best to be at home and do the diet?

Pixie1979 · 19/04/2010 15:04

espirit,

I work from home and I find it really easy to do.

I have just done the first week and it's not been too bad. I do occassionally go out to see some clients in the day/evening but then I just plan and take a drink or something with me if I know I am going to be out longer than an hour or two so I don't get stuck somewhere and start getting hungry.

I don't think of food all the time and I know what i can and can not have, the packets are easy to make up and it takes the hassle out of choosing food as I can only choose from the packets of Alizonne food i have in my cupboard.

My sister lives with me and at the moment there are some crisps and chocolate in the cupboard but I did not think of them until I was writing this - I'm about to have my pear and chocolate dessert for my lunch along with some veg.

If you are going to be at home with time on your hands then you may find it difficult but if you have stuff to keep your mind occupied then it should be ok.

If you are working and doing this then you just have to be organised and disciplined as there is no point spending money on the diet whilst eating a chocolate bar and then wondering why the diets not working!

I don't have thyroid issues myself but I have seen other posts on here from people who say they have been successful on Alizonne.

Pixie1979 · 19/04/2010 15:13

xbella91x

You can add seasoning and other veg in with the packets of food in phase 1.

They say any powdered herbs/seasoning are fine. Also a little olive oil, mustard, a spoon of yoghurt occassionally, lemon juice and also sweetners can be used. No raw garlic but powdered is fine.

You can have unlimited amounts of some veg like celery, rhubarb, cucumber etc but only up to 200g per day of other veg like mushrooms, tomatos, cauliflower due to the high carb content of these veg, and some veg are completely off limits like carrots.

They will give you a guide book with all your instructions and some recipies in it too so you won't sabotage the plan as long as you stick to it.

You can add veg to the packet foods, for example, yesterday I used herb omlette and added the green tops of some spring onions (not the white bit as they are off limits due to carb contents) I also had the pizza and put a sliced mushroom on top, and I made 200g of chips from swede and put a shed load of my salt and vinegar seasoning from jar on them. Technically my mushroom pushed my veg limited to 210g but I wasn't too worried about that and I know that is not going to sabotage the diet!!!

lauraloop · 20/04/2010 16:23

Hi all,

Is it a good idea to take blood test 1st and then go see a doctor?

I have booked consultation appt 1st and then i go and take my blood tests.

So can anyone help me which way around is good? Wht do they discuss in the 1st consultation without blood test then?

Anyone going to london clinic? how r they?

Thanks for ur help!

lauraloop · 22/04/2010 12:39

Hi all
I tried postin this twice yest and it looked like it did it but obviously it didnt.
I had my 1st weigh in yest and lost 7lbs which i am really happy about didnt think it would be that much as i didnt finish al the sachets if i didnt like them.I also havent eaten alot of veg because there is alot of i dont like its making me want to carry on and hope i see more results like this but i know it will prob slow down abit now as you lose the most in the 1st week xx

sailsclo · 22/04/2010 21:49

well done, do try to eat as many of the veggies and salad as you can, they will help to keep you full and also help in the 'going to the loo' department!

keep at it though, you may lose the same next week, some people do. and remember to drink lots of water too x

mybrowneyedgirl · 27/04/2010 17:39

Hi Everyone. I'm new to the programme, and collected my boxes of food etc today from the Brentwood Clinic. Can't wait to get started tomorrow!! Have done Lighterlife befoee and lost 4 stone, but of course I put it all back on again. I was 40 three weeks ago, and after lots of partying etc have decided enough is enough...want to be a Naughty 40, not Fatty 40! I have 3.5 stone to lose and hope to get to 9 stone very soon. Have had kidney failure in the past, but Dr Richard was happy with my blood results. Just one question..re the delighrful body suit. Do you wear your undies underneath it? Makes me shudder to think how gorgeous I must look in it

Hope you're all doing well! x

prettywoman · 27/04/2010 21:52

Pixie1979 · 28/04/2010 09:17

Hi Prettywoman,

Hopefully you should lose some more over the next few weeks. Do you exercise too?

I exercise and it has made a big difference, I can't do as much as I normally do as I don't have the energy on this diet but I still try and do something a few times a week, like walking uphill and I still play netball.

How long have you been on it?

lauraloop · 28/04/2010 15:50

sailsclo · 02/05/2010 21:03

MRS CAKES, I'm sorry I didnt see you there! didnt mean to ignore you!

How are you getting on, now that youve been doing it for a couple of weeks?

Woollyback · 06/05/2010 20:58

Erm...evening! New here...and wondering if I'm the only bloke?!! I'm a little embarrassed to be here to be honest but I'm starting the treatment tomorrow and thought I may as well say hello and maybe get a bit of help along the way?! Anyway no worries if its ladies only?! Bye!

xbella91x · 12/05/2010 12:12

Hi Woollyback,

All allizonners are welcome on this site im sure ;)

Its my first day bon the diet today and I too am looking for some advice.

I think the sachets are going to take some getting used to, I was rather optimistic this morning with the Vanilla dessert but the ice tea.. urghh. Will be taking that back tomorrow for a swap i think.

I am looking for some advice on recipes, I work full time and also have a busy social life therefore I need this diet to be straight forward.

For example, I think the idea of a dressing is great however can anybody recommend a ready made dressing that i can buy as opposed to making my own?

Also, is the cheese souffle any good? I asked for the omelette but didnt have any left so got lumbered with this. Hope its ok otherwise i think i will starve for a few days lol.

I have my first treatment tomorrow so will see how that goes ;)

If anybody has any tips for me that would be great. I know the diet isnt easy, however it needs to fit into my lifestyle somehow and the consultants were not particularly helpful.. just sent me on my way basically!!

Thanks guys x

lilocas · 13/05/2010 21:07

Hi,
Just been for my 4 week appoint today and going well. I plan my meals the night before. For example: today: porridge for breakkie, cappucino for snack (which I heated up this am and put in a flask), made a salad for lunch and ate a lemon desert with it, afternoon I had a chocolate drink and in the evening an omolette. I have bought extra shakers and morrisons does a fab little whisk that I use to mix up stuff. Also bought extra containers etc. I have made lots of puddings to keep in the fridge such as the choc and pear and lemon etc. This is an easy meal and will keep for ages. At the weekend I cut up a lot of veg, like runner beans etc and put it in sealed bags to use and and when I need. It does take a lot of forward planning but once you get into the swing of things it;s quite easy!.
I also weigh up the veg and put it in bags so I don't have to do it every meal time.

Hope this helps and good luck! Have you got a lot to loose?

PS: hello Woolyback
