Just seen this advertised in National Press.

Has anyone ever tried it?

Is it pricey?

More to the point, Does it really work?

I'm intrigued..... I had never heard of this programme before...

Morning

Not sure if people are coming here too often but thanks for the two 'hello's!

Just thought I'd pop in and say that I'
ve been back after my first 10 days and have lost 14lbs so far. Quite dramatic on the face of it but lots of fluid in that, presumably? It gives you a boost though and hopefully next week will be decent as well. Can't say this is easy or that having tried quite a broad selection of the sachets the 'meals' etc are particularly pleasant but with a bit of will power and discipline, it's achievable. The drinks and soups seem to be the best...althoug I couldn't stand the cheese omelette...even the thought of it makes me want to gag! The others are kind of OK every now and then but the texture of things isn't great, is it? Kind of like eating foam? But on the positive side, there's no hunger and so far so good!

Anyway, there you go...hope people are going well with it! TTFN!!

Hi All,

If we are being honest, can anyone tell me if they have cheated on this diet even slightly?

Ive seen a couple of people say they have had a cheeky glass of wine etc but I am embarrassed to say I faltered a bit last night eek! I had a cherry bakewell .

I have stuck on this diet and have also been excercising so im not too worried as all i have been told is that it may take alittle longer for that extra 1lb or two to come off.

Has anyone done anything like this also?

xbella91x · 24/05/2010 10:20

PS Woolypack,

Well done on the weight loss, how much have you got to lose?

Woollyback · 27/05/2010 23:12

Hi

Well, my target is 7 stone, which sounds severe but if I achieve it, that'll see me back to what I was when I was between 20 and 25...I'm now 41, so its taken a while to go on! Been back for my third session today and I'm now at 17lbs down after 15 days, so all in all, not too bad. But a LOOOOONG way to go yet!! Next visit is in 11 days so fingers crossed, that'll give me a chance to push on a bit more.

How about anyone else?

And Woolypack? Isn't that in Emmerdale?! ;-)

sailsclo · 01/06/2010 14:05

lilocas · 02/06/2010 16:11

hi i got lucky on the lottery and won some money i desperately need to lose some weight i wonder if this would be a good investment could some one please advise me .

fruitcake27 · 23/06/2010 21:23

Hi everyone

I'm going to the brentwood open evening tomorrow. Really hoping to get myself booked in for treatment starting in july - after my holiday! I've been told that there's only 1 other lady booked in for it tomorrow though, so it'll be a quiet one! Does anyone else here go to the Brentwood Clinic? Is it busy when you go?

This site by far is the most helpful. There's hardly anything else to read on the net about it.

I have around 3 - 4 stone to lose, but not sure exactly how much because I'm not sure what will look best for my frame.. i'm 5'6" (i think) and 14.5 stone.. does the doctor advise about how much you should lose, or do they let you make your own choice?

I'm going to keep this a secret from friends & family as I don't want the lecture re money, risks, "too young" etc...

Any help / advice that anyone has for me i'd be most grateful

Will try to keep you all updated with progress etc. but the site is a bit quiet recently so don't really wanna talk to myself haha

SmileyMylee · 23/06/2010 23:51

Can really recommend the diet. I lost 8 stones on it in six months and have kept it off for 6 months.

I'm thinking of going back to lose another stone and a half though - I was a size 26/28 and am size 14 now (I'm 5 ft 4), but think I would like to be a size 12.

The doctors ask you what you want to get down to and as long as it is within the recommended BMI I think they will go for it. However I did lower my target a few times as I was finding it so easy.

Good luck to everyone!

fruitcake27 · 24/06/2010 08:41

This diet sounds too good to be true, I hope it's not!

My biggest fears are 1. cheating on the diet! and 2. going back to my old ways once I've lost the weight.

Has anyone cheated on it? What happened? I think i'd be put off because of the amount of money it costs, but i've read that all you eat is the meal replacement sachets for half the estimated time it will take to lose it all. I think mine will be 5 - 8 weeks. That means 5 - 8 weeks with no actual food - how did everyone else cope?!

notapizzaeater · 24/06/2010 19:46

You do eat real food - there is a list of salad & veg you can have so you "do" eat.

Yes its expensive but it really works - I started end Jan and have lost over 5 stone, am currently phasing off so adding more food to my diet (yummy).

You set your own target - I also set mine higher than they said I could go - I have since adjusted this as it was so easy.

I have "cheated" but cheated as healthy as I could and it meant I only lost 2lbs that week

SmileyMylee · 24/06/2010 21:41

Yes I cheated occasionally. Normally cheating meant I occasionally ate chicken and salad rather than yet another helping of aubergine rogan josh!

Occasionally I ate a little bit of the kids tea (I couldn't resist 1 little Ikea meatball!) Generally I haven't noticed any ill effect from either of these - but the day I drank a whole bottle of wine I put 0.4 k on.

In theory if you break it too much you risk going out of ketosis and then you lose 3 - 4 days of weight loss benefit.

You still eat 'real' food but going out and socialising is difficult.

Laine4kids · 27/06/2010 09:54

hello all
I am fairly sure this diet is what I need after reading this thread. My problem is I'm 2 hours away from both the leeds clinic and the Nottingham one so its going to be a massive commitment.I spoke to the lady in leeds and she said its possible the doctor will agree to every 10 day appointments because of the distance.
So,as far as I can tell(notts have not rang me back yet) Leeds is the oldest uk clinic and notts is the newest. Is it possible that notts will be cheaper and just as good do you think?
also, with thyroid problems and taking steroids is it really possible to lose two and a half stones in 10-12 weeks?
I really have tried everything else.
massive congrats to all the losers on this thread .Has this diet ever not worked for someone?
sorry its so long-thanks x

notapizzaeater · 27/06/2010 17:04

Leeds is HQ - London is owned by them and I think the others are franchises.

My thyroid is border line - the initial blood tests picked this up and I've managed fine on it.

Leeds do appointments on Saturdays if that helps ?

Laine4kids · 28/06/2010 12:35

has anyone got any experience of the Nottingham clinic?
thanks for the reply,notapizza.

Also, can anyone tell me how long an average apointment takes? I expect the first would be longest ,I'm trying to work out if I can do it in school hours.
thanks again x

notapizzaeater · 28/06/2010 19:31

The first appointment with the Dr is about 30 mins with Doc and 30 mins metabolic test.

The treatment appointments (each week or 10 days for you) are an hour. If you need bloods - add 5 mins and if you need to see Dr for a review add 15-30 mins.

HTH

Laine4kids · 29/06/2010 08:47

thankyou
with your thyroid results being borderline, did they find your metabolic rate to be slow? x

notapizzaeater · 29/06/2010 14:41

My metabolic rate is 1850 k which I think is average ????

fruitcake27 · 30/06/2010 16:13

thanks for the response pizza & smiley!

I'm booked in for my blood/medgem & consultation on the 27th july - had to wait until after my holiday. Bit of a bummer as I wanted to get started ASAP but I couldn't sacrifice my food & wine on holiday!

Really looking forward to starting, just got to make a credit card application - hope the credit limit is high enough! haha

I found the Brentwood clinic really helpful, I went to their open day & spoke with a guy who had lost 3.5 stones in the last 12 weeks. Said he is a completely different person, mentally & physically, which I really hope is the same for me as well!

Big well done to everyone who has lost so much weight, it must be life-changing. I've got my fingers crossed for me, & everyone else who's on it/just about to join!!

fazza71 · 04/07/2010 21:14

Hiya all,

I go to the Leeds clinic on 10th July for my first consultation.

Having read the encouragng replies on here, Im really excited to start.

I have a long way to go (10 stone to lose!) but am confident this time.

I know that you can't drink alcohol on this diet, but can anyone tell me what other things you can drink if you go out, ie fruit juice etc?

jools2407 · 05/07/2010 16:33

I am seriously thinking about going on the Alizonne diet at the clinic in Leeds. I'm hoping to go for my first appointment next month. I've read most of the posts and it seems like a good idea. What i am wondering is 'what do you actually have to give up'? No alcohol!!!! lol Why can't you drink something such as Vodka on the odd occasion as this doesn't contain fat or calories? I am going to an Engagement party and don't want to be stood with an orange juice all evening! Any info would be useful.

lilocas · 05/07/2010 18:02

You can only drink black coffe, water or tea with no milk but no fruit teas at all. It's not that bad. I've been to functions and managed to have water with lemon and ice all day. So far I've lost 42lbs in 11 weeks. This thought keeps me going. Still have 24lbs to go but the diet is only for such a short time and hopefully I will have the rest of my life to enjoy being 'normal'.

notapizzaeater · 05/07/2010 21:59

I think its no alcohol because your liver is working overtime getting rid of the fat so you don;t want to put it under any more pressure.

Must admit if I go out I drive and have diet coke/fizzy water.

fazza71 · 12/07/2010 14:56

Thanks all. Diet coke / fizzy water I can cope with and I only drink black coffee anyway, so thats good.

Just had my first consultation on Saturday and start the diet proper on Thursday.

The doctor thinks I will be on it for about 7 months, but hopefully it will all be worth it :O
