Just seen this advertised in National Press.

Has anyone ever tried it?

Is it pricey?

More to the point, Does it really work?

I'm intrigued..... I had never heard of this programme before...

Hi Prettywoman. I am on day 6 today, and also finding some sachets intolerable. However, discovered the chocolate desert yesterday, and this may be my salvation! If you make it up and leave it for about an hour in the fridge, it is actually nice! How much weight do you have to lose, and how long have they said you will be on phase 1 for? I want to lose about 2 stones, which should equate to 5 weeks on phase 1, but we'll wait and see. My weigh in is also Tuesday, so i'll let you know the results. Please let me know yours also. Keep at it. Love Dawn x

jellyjen · 03/04/2010 10:59

Day 2 and feeling ok at the moment. Thank God!
Just picking up on whatsome of you have said.... Since I am also one of those that has tried every diet, I wasn't planning on telling anyone. However, one of my children told a neighbour (Yesssss!!) and I then of course I had to tell them that this is a medical diet that I have to do to get the weight off quickly due to my health conditions and I am well supervised by the doctor. I feel a lot better since I took that stance as no one will now poo poo the diet for my sake. I have three dinners coming up in the next three days and it is also our wedding anniversary on Sunday and I know it will be difficult to say anything else and be taken seriously. My hubby is of course fully supportive (well he is paying for it) . If you analyse it, this is a medical diet as it is only 500 cals and only a dr. can prescribe this as it is well below the legal calorie intake which is about 800 - 850. (Anyway this is what my dr said at the clinic not that I am an expert). I find comin on the forum keeps me from looking around in the kitchen too.
Hope all of you will have a good Easter.

Hi All
I too have my consultation on the 6th April and I am really excited and spurred on by your positive words and encouragement and not to mention the actualy weight loss that is occuring.
I have been trying for a baby for the last 5 years and have always been told by doctors that my weight was the problem however at the end of last year I was told my fallopian tubes were blocked and to qualify for IVF on the NHS I had to get my BMI down to a 'normal' level before they would accept me. I am 40 in December therefore I don't have much time (40 being the oldest the NHS accept) so as you can see I am on a very tight, very fast ticking time bomb.
I look forward to being able to tell you all for my birthday (xmas eve) that I am a few weeks pregnant so fingers x'd.. Jo

pomegranates · 04/04/2010 18:47

Hi there.
Am hoping to get in for a consultation at a CourtHouse Clinic in Maidenhead but a little apprehensive.
I have polycystic ovaries and have tried things like LighterLife with a little success, but through huge struggles.
I like that this allows you to eat ACTUAL solid food, but wonder if anyone else is coming from the same angle I am and would love to know how you found this.
Have reached desperation now and really need something to work - regardless of cost.
Do want to ask however about whether or not I MUST strip down to my undies for this?
I think the thought of that is enough to put me off. I know it sounds stupid, but I can't stand to look at my body myself.
Lastly - doesn anyone go to the Maidenhead clinic - how have you found it?
Thank you in advance!

notapizzaeater · 04/04/2010 20:29

Hi Pomegranate

I have PCOS and am borderline on my thyroid tests. Its working well for me

I didn't strip for the doctor just the therapist (ladies) but you put a very flattering body suit on for your treatment which covers you.

Pixie1979 · 04/04/2010 23:36

Hi pomegranates,

I am going to the Maidenhead clinic - although I have only been there twice so far, once for their open evening the other week to find out a bit more about Alizonne, and the other time was Wednesday to do my blood tests.

My consultation is this Wednesday but so far the clinic and the people seem ok, no doubt i will know more after Wednesday and will write a report on here about it!

I don't mind stripping to me pants in front of anyone - granted, the sight is neither good nor bad but a fit body I do not possess - yet!

I was apprehensive about Alizonne initially, however, I must have read every website and report on it and I do understand the whole theory it is based around.

Eating only or mainly protein based 'foods' will make your body burn fat and although the calorie intake is considerably low, which is the main reason you drop weight quickly, it is the protein meals 5 times a day that keeps your body ticking over the same way that shovelling coal into a train engine keeps it going.

We'll see how Wednesday go - and I'm going to put on my bestest pants! ;-)

dawn1205 · 06/04/2010 13:58

Hi lauraloop
Happy birthday! How did your consultation go today? I hope it went well. I had first weigh in today, and have lost 7lb's in first week, so very happy and motivated to continue. Let me know how you got on?
Love Dawn x

Hi Dawn how did u find ur 1st week?x

jomosh · 08/04/2010 15:19

Hi
Has anyone fallen off the wagon and had a few alcoholic drinks whilst on the program?
I only ask because I go on holiday for 2 weeks half way through.
Was just wondering what, if any the consequences have been ( I mean real life and not what they tell you).
By the way I start the program on the 17th which seems too far away although I get to go out and have a final weekend on the sauce!
Jo

Tizi · 08/04/2010 21:23

Hi Pomegranates

I have polycystic ovaries and I am currently doing Alizonne at the Stockport Clinic.

I have been doing the programme for 6 weeks and have gone from 13st 3lb to 11st 5lb (at my weigh in tonight), my goal weight is 9st 7lb.

I too was unsure to begin with as I have tried so many different things to lose weight in the past and found it particularly difficult due to pcos.

However I can honestly say this is the best thing I have ever done and I only wish I had done it sooner.

If you have any questions feel free to ask xx

jomosh · 09/04/2010 08:01

Hi Tizi
I will be attending the Stockport Clinic and I hve PCOS so this is very encouraging news. Are you on the Alizonne forum and what is your 'name' on that?
Did you exercise beforehand and more to the point can you (allowed to) exercise during? I son't want to fall into bad habits afterwards.
I'm quite anxious about it but very excited also.

prettywoman · 10/04/2010 19:59

hi

11th day today ,weigh 2.5kg less, unable to see any change on size or shape..but happy.

didnt have treatment in 2nd week due to all being booked up.

have 2st to lose in total..was told total time 8 weeks and maintanence 4 weeks.
phase 1 for 4 weeks.

not sure if i will be able to meet the target times.

lilocas · 12/04/2010 20:39

Hi,

I start on thursday... looking forward to starting and have about 30kgs to loose. ( a lot!!)
I am also having the treatment and have been given the lovely body sock... not sure how to wear it! do you have underware under it? Do you out it on once you get to the clinic or at home and cloths over it? (I feel really silly asking this!)
Also with the food, how many sachets do you get in each box?
Thank you for your answers!

Pixie1979 · 12/04/2010 22:08

Hi lilocas,

I started today - so far so good. You get 7 sachets in each box. I would recommend getting a few spare boxes so you can have a variety, some people recommend the variety packs but I went for the following:

Cheese omlette - about to eat that one in a mo.

Herb omlette - not bad, added some spring onion tops to it for more flavour.

Oatmeal - looks like baby food but tastes ok.

Strawberry milkshake - a bit powdery for my likeing but i downed it quickly!

Orange & Pineapple drink - tastes like those vitamin C drinks!

I would recommend being very well planned with your food and pills and go shopping for the veg beforehand - unlike me who forgot the morning pills so I took them at lunch and then went to the shop in the afternoon to get my veg - tomorrow I shall plan it better!

I think I will try to be more proactive when it comes to making nice dishes with the veg... Anyone have any recipies??

Tizi · 13/04/2010 00:33

Hi Jomosh

Great to hear from someone else who will be/is going to Stockport Clinic, they're all so lovely there and Trish is great.

I haven't really posted on the Alizonne forum but I do have a look at it. Are you on it?

I didn't do any exercise before joining Alizonne (not for years anyway) and haven't really done any specific exercise whilst I have been on it, although once I am on phase 2 I am hoping
to dig out my old Callanetics dvd which I used to use years ago and it is very good for toning up.
I was told you can do exercise during phase 1 but obviously if you are building muscle tone from exercise, weight loss (in pounds/stones) will be slower as muscle is heavier than fat.

I have been really pleased with my progress so far - I have carried most of my weight around my stomach and my waist has gone from 36" to 30" already and I'm fitting into clothes that
I haven't worn for years.

The nearer you get to your target weight the slower the weight loss will be but the doctor should account for this in his calculations.

How much weight do you have to lose and do you know what you're resting metabolic rate was when you got tested? xx

jomosh · 13/04/2010 08:11

Hi Tizi
I have my first treatment on Saturday, the Medgem machine wasn't working properly when they tried to do my resting met rate so they will have another go on sat. As I havn't started the treatment yet I don't have a user id for the forum so hoping to get that soon. I don't usualy post on them but I am looking forward to other peoples recipes and tips
I never thought about building muscle during phase 1. I'll leave it for now, thanks.
6" off your waist already!? FANTASTIC!!
I have about 7 stone to lose but as soon as I get to a bmi of 35 I am applying for IVF.
xx

sailsclo · 13/04/2010 21:45

Hi lilocas

dont wear the body stocking to travel to the clinic, you'll be stuck if you need a wee!!!!

you dont wear it for the ultra sound, they will wire you up to that then cover you with towels, then when thats done they will tell you to pop the stocking on (usually while they are washing the pads from the ultrasound) at our clinic we leave our knickers on, then when your treatment is all done, they leave you to get changed and meet you back in the reception area. but im not sure if all clinics are the same.

you havent really got that much to loose, i started of needing to shift 6.5 stone!!! think ive lost 2.5s so far! hope to go on to phase 2 soon!!!

when you get the foods, go for the selection packs then you wont be stuck with whole boxes if you dont like them. the hot chocolate is ok. and the caramel drink (but i leave that for 5 mins after making it, it thickens up a tad and the powdery taste goes!) i seem to like the food that no one else likes, fish soup and tomato soup. i hate the bread, potato pie and raspberry dessert :-(

take each day as it comes, and before you know it you suddenly realise youve been doing it for 9 weeks and not had a cup of tea!

good luck x

lilocas · 13/04/2010 21:58

Thanks Sailsclo that is very helpful. What clinic are you at? I am going to btw. A bit nervous as I have gained about 3kgs since they last weighed me about 2 months ago. am only starting now because of availability and the fact I was going on hols. I have bought a dress on ebay, size 10, exactly the same as one I have in a size 18! Hoping it will keep me motivated! Congrats to you, you are doing really well.
X ;)

lauraloop · 14/04/2010 20:09

Good luck lauraloop. Stay positive you will be able to do it. I have lost 12lbs in 2 weeks, which I find completely amazing, so if I can do it, so can you.
