Just seen this advertised in National Press.

Has anyone ever tried it?

Is it pricey?

More to the point, Does it really work?

I'm intrigued..... I had never heard of this programme before...

Thanks resolved for your input. Much appreciated. I am a bit concerned that I am not good with shakes and that aspect of the diet concerns me. A tummy tuck is a drastic measure, but I feel so disabled and down that I feel maybe a tummy tuck would be an easy way out. Still not sure what to do.

sailsclo · 26/03/2010 09:58

hi jellyjen! i also thought about having a tummy tuck, i put on 6 stone after having 2 babies very close together. but when i looked into the recovery time after a tummy tuck, there was no way i could do it. have 2 little ones (4 & 5), dogs, hens and an allotment, i couldnt be laid up for weeks, it was bad enough after a c-section.

ive been doing this for 9 weeks and have lost just over 2 stone so far with 4 more to shift, as already said it is expensive, think ive already spent well over £2000 but at least im not laid up unable to do any thing!

you can eat some salad stuff and some veggies on this, so its not all shakes. some of the food can be made into things like pizza, pasta, potato dishes etc. but i prefer the hot chocolate, soups and omlettes.

let us know what you decide to do, where abuts do you live? do you have a clinic near by? good luck x

dawn1205 · 28/03/2010 14:56

Well, blood tests and starting diet tomorrow. Excited, but nervous. Just need to get to 10.30 (with fasting)!!! xxx

sailsclo · 29/03/2010 07:19

dawn, if you are having your blood tests today, then they wont let you start the diet today aswell, as they have to make sure that your bloods are all ok. i had the same thing happen to me!! but dont worry the blood results are usually emailed back to them, so you should be able to start maybe weds or thurs.
after id had my bloods done i went and had a lovely steak as i knew id have to go a while without meat, so in the day or 2 before i started i had my fav foods! not pigging out but just making sure id had my favs!!!

good luck xx

dawn1205 · 30/03/2010 11:46

Hi Sailsclo, had bloods yesterday, and they said I could start diet same day. They said if there was a problem with bloods, they would phone me and I should stop taking sachets.
So far, it's not been too bad. Hated vegetable soup, and can't seem to get lumps out of the stuff (even with using a blender). However, I do feel obsessed watching the clock for next sachet fix! Hope this wears off!
How much weight have you lost so far?
Love Dawn xx

sailsclo · 30/03/2010 20:39

hiya dawn,
oh i had the same problem with lumps, then found out that i was meant to mix them up with cold water before heating in microwave. i was using boiling water and then using the blender! (not fun!!!)

its seems that every clinic does it a bit different, i have to rely on buses to get the the clinic after i was ill and so not being allowed to drive. but they still made me go back to collect the food even though i had asked to take the food and said that i wouldnt start until they had called me!

ive lost just over 2st and have just under 4.5 to go

i tried the bread tonight and have to say it was flipping awful!

i often set the alarm on my phone for when the next sachet is due, as i find it easy to forget otherwise. make sure you drink the water as that will help to fill you up too and have plenty of the allowed veggies and salad.

take each day as it comes, and then all of the sudden youll think OMG its been 9 weeks since i had a 'real' meal!!!! as i did the other week!

prettywoman · 30/03/2010 21:14

Hi guys, it is my first day today. the sachets are horrible don't know how long can i pull on this. it smells horrible and tastes awful, but encouraged by the end result.

sailsclo · 31/03/2010 07:01

i thought that at first, but now i try not to sniff!! which ones have you tried? the hot chocolate is a good one to start with as its similar the normal hot choclate, just lacks squirty cream and marshmallows! :-)

im sure you will find a few that you can tolerate or even like that will make things easier for you x

sulliey · 31/03/2010 15:18

Hi,
I want to start Alizonne but really want to speak to someone who has done it, kept it off etc. I have tried EVERYTHING haven't we all and my husband thinks this may just be another fad diet that takes our money, please let me know how you got on, how long it took etc. I have 4 stone to lose
Thanks

prettywoman · 31/03/2010 20:13

Hi Sailsclo,

I have started to like a few, anxiously wait for dinner as i can have big portion of permitted vegs. i add herbs n it tastes so good as thts my only hope.
How soon are the changes of this struggle seen, can someone comment. What is the minimum someone has lost in a week

Thanks all n lets keep up the hard work

sailsclo · 31/03/2010 21:48

i think people started to notice after about 4 or 5 weeks, but every one is different, ive not really lost it that fast either, ive already gone from a size 20 to a 16, and until i bought new jeans no one really noticed that much, i didnt want to keep buying new clothes, but my jeans were getting beyond the just pull em up stage!!! so now i just have 2 pairs that fit! means washing all the time, but they are now getting loose so im thinking if i can cope for another couple of weeks then i'll buy another couple a size or 2 smaller!!!

what sachets do you like?

Pixie1979 · 01/04/2010 00:39

Hi all,

I had my blood tests today and my consultation booked in for next Wednesday... if all goes well I can start the diet... on the Monday... Diets always start on a Monday, don't they? ;-)

sailsclo · 01/04/2010 09:56

hello, which clinic are you at? ive never been on a diet of any kind before this one! but i started on a thursday! (week 11 starts today!)

have asked every one not to buy me or the kids easter eggs and hope that the majority of them listen to me!!! lol

jellyjen · 01/04/2010 18:03

Hi all,

I read all your messages and finally took the plunge. I had my bloods and got the stuff today. I got my treatments today but will be starting the foods tomorrow. So tonight is my "Last Supper" .
After the treatment I felt so good and somehow felt like as if I was missing some clothing on me. I had to keep checking that I had everything on and was decent before I left the treatment room. I am not sure why that was but felt really good. I am glad I listened to you ladies (I think?) and decided against a tummy tuck. Reading through your comments really got me inspired and I hope it will be onwards and "downwards" it will be.

Thanks again for your inspiration.

jellyjen · 01/04/2010 18:07

By the way I am with the London clinic and hope to go there every Friday. My appointments are around 10.30 and 11.30 for the next 4 weeks.

If anyone is available to meet up around that time, I would love to over a black tea/coffee lol!!!

Pixie1979 · 02/04/2010 00:32

I'm going to the Maidenhead clinic as I live in Reading.

I have my consultation next Wednesday and if all goes well I will start on Monday 12th April so I get Easter out of the way!

Sailsclo - I hope they don't buy you any chocolate Easter eggs, it's no fun just watching them when you could be eating them!

I'm actually looking forward to starting the 'diet' and I really need it too. I lost 4 stone in 6 months off my own back about 5 years ago, I was 17st and got down to 13st and then took a break. I got down to 12st 3 years ago but have gone back up now, an extra 7lbs in the last 2 weeks puts me back at 14st... bugger

I'm 5ft 8 and looking to get to maybe 10st or at least 10.5st. I've never been slim or less than 12st since I was about 14 so I'm not sure what I'll look like but I know I'll look and feel better for it!

I want to join the police and although my fitness is fine I think I'll look like a weeble in the uniform!

Pixie1979 · 02/04/2010 00:41

JellyJen - great choice not to go for the tummy tuck. Honestly, some of these people who have them done look like they've gone 10 rounds with a butchers knife. Sure, some people look ok but after a few months of Alizonne you'll probably achieve a better result all round, plus the cost is probably the same as a tummy tuck anyway.

The one thing I think will keep me going is to think that it's only for a short period of time - maybe 4 months out of my life (30 and a bit years so far) for the first bit and if I think about food I will tell myself that it will still be there when I have finished, the food isn't going anywhere so I don't have to eat it all right now (not that I plan to binge afterwards as that would be silly!)

I managed to do a 10 detox over in Thailand a couple of years ago and you didn't eat ANYTHING on it, just some water soluble fibre 5 times a day in juice and some veggie broth which was just the water from where the veggies had been boiling in it. So if I can do that then I think I can stick at this for as long as it takes... mind you I might not be saying that after a couple of weeks of 'space packet food!!'

jellyjen · 02/04/2010 09:31

Hi Pixie1979

Thanks for your encouragement. You made me laugh when I read your response. You are right the food will still be around in a few months time!!!! I had my first hot drink this morning - caramel. It tasted too sweet hence I added more water and made it last a bit longer. Read the contents of the packet and it says it has aspartamine. I have heard so many negative things said about "A" that I am a bit confused now. I have found in the past that when I take artificial sweetners, it seems to affect my eyesight. (confused) I have tried this twice. I will have to watch the space as I also have a sweet tooth but like the texture of cake more than anything else.

notapizzaeater · 02/04/2010 11:33

Hi

I know there are arguments for and against "A" but when my LO was small I asked a paed doc about this as he would only drink hot choc and was having the options one made with milk. He told me he would rather people had "A" as the risks of obesity far outweigh the cancer risks.

I like the caramel one and the hot choc. The ornage one is quite nice too warm if you want a nice warming drink.

The clinic themselves have a web site with lots of recipes - someone made choc eclairs the other week so might be good for tips if you like "cake" I personally HATE all the ones supposed to be "food" and am happy on the drinks and just eating my veg and salad.

Good luck it does get much easier, esp as you can see the difference quickly !

jellyjen · 02/04/2010 18:51

Hi notapizzaeater

Thanks for your input.

I have nearly come to the end of my first day - yipee! another 139 to go

I had an omlette with mushrooms and green spring onions with chilly flakes and olive oil. I really liked it. I have a little omlette maker which I hadn't used for sometime, hence took it out and managed to make two oval shaped omlettes. I think I am going to have more of the omlettes everyday. My hubby had a good laugh when he saw me take out my little omlette maker. I am known to be a bit of a gadget freak. lol.
I have one more snack before bed and I am not sure if I like the drinks though. I find I am all the time thinking of what I should be making for my next meal. Is this normal?

notapizzaeater · 02/04/2010 18:53

Yes tis normal, it does wear off, about 3-4 days in you will suddenly find you are not hungry at all. I sometimes "forget" to eat and then panic as I try and get a sachet in within the 4 hour slot !!

Ooh gadgets - I adore them hence my cupboards are full

lauraloop · 02/04/2010 20:28

Hi im new to the site and iv got my consultation on the 6th april(my birthday!)im nervous as well as excited just hope i can stick to it and not give up. Hi jellyjen i also tried sureslim last year and found it really hard and gave up after 2weeks as it made me very ill but still had to pay 4 it which iv only just finished doin!!nobody knows im doin this and im dreedin tellin my family cos i no wot they will say!!!any advise will be much appreciated xx

dawn1205 · 03/04/2010 06:59

Hi Lauraloop
I only started on Monday 29th March, so have only being doing diet for less than a week. However, I must say that after working out how to get the lumps out(yuk), and discarding the soups (double yuk), it is actually easier to follow than I had thought. I am the champion snacker (of rubbish of course), and feel that if I can do this, then most people probably can. Of course, you do need to be in the right frame of mind, and be determined.
I also decided not to tell some of my family etc, as I didn't want they mocking the diet and de-motivating you. Having said that, my husband has been super supportive, and I think you do need someone to spur you on when you are feeling low!
I have first weigh in on the 6th (Happy birthday to you), so will let you know how I get on. Good luck with your consultation. Let me know when you are starting? Love Dawn x

prettywoman · 03/04/2010 08:02
