Just seen this advertised in National Press.

Has anyone ever tried it?

Is it pricey?

More to the point, Does it really work?

I'm intrigued..... I had never heard of this programme before...

Am quite sick of salad myself. So now I put in a tbs of chickpeas to give it some variation. I know its a bit of cheating, but really fed up of chomping leaves.

notapizzaeater · 11/03/2010 16:22

cenglish - I asked at my clinic today about the eggs and you are allowed them on Phase 3. Phase 3 is Phase 2 PLUS breakfast. HTH

resolved · 11/03/2010 19:09

cenglish · 11/03/2010 19:38

Hi
I had my consultation and bloods done on Friday. First treatment etc on Tuesday. Just looking for some advice about the food packs.
I'm long haul cabin crew. When i'm at work ai will have no access to cooking facilities or microwave. What would everyone reccomend as being the best for sachets for me to buy?

Can add cold water or hot water. Thats about it. Could probably put something prepared in the oven at a push, but they dont really resenbel an oven at home. Same goes for hotels while i'm away.

Determined to stick to this so just looking for as much info as poss.
Thanks

derevkofan · 14/03/2010 07:03

Hi, I would recommend the drink or dessert sachets as you can add cold water and shake them in a plastic mug to get a drink (caramel, peach & mango etc) or a thick or runny pudding (vanilla, banana etc - I also sometimes add a spoon of coffee to these) That's what I do at work as I move from one building to another throughout the day so just adding water and shaking is very convenient! I've just moved on to phase 3 so really enjoyed my slice of toast and yoghurt for breakfast for a change

cenglish · 14/03/2010 08:57

today i start phase 4 so i can add an orange for snack.

was told i could only have 1 bar a day (phase 3) i was having 2 a day as they are so handy plus lovely (praline bar), so i put on 0.4kg which they said was hardly anything at all, but i dont mind.

next week i am in disneyland paris so i have to stay away from all the quick handy fast food and take my sachets.

sailsclo · 14/03/2010 09:56

hello Katie, id go with the caramel drink too. havent tried the fruit ones. but the caramel is ok.....better if you drink it through a straw! or the vanilla dessert you could add a tad more water and have that as a milkshake kind of drink.

but dont make any of them up with hot water, i made the mistake of doing this for the first few weeks with all my hot chocs, soups etc and its near on impossible to get the lumps out!!! (even with an electric whizzer!!!)

if you can use a microwave the hot choc only takes a minute as does the cappucino and soups.

ive had a couple of days where ive been out and only had the caramel drinks, its not so bad cos youll also have your salads and veggies too.

WELL DONE....Cenglish!!! enjoy disney.

BTW.... some one in my clinic the other week was going away and they had to get a letter from the clinic to prove what was in the sachets as they wouldnt be allowed on the plane otherwise

resolved · 14/03/2010 10:05

Hi Katie
I travel away every week too with my job. Its a real willpower battle but i find the oatmeal easiest as you can add hot water anywhere. In addition i go for the hot chocolate and soups ( although they are better using a whisk). I have also invested in 2 small thermos flasks so that i can whisk choc or soup up in my hotel room and have them for the day. Of course with flights, made up liquids will be a problem.
In addition, i have maxxed out on salads in hotels or lots of green veg for evening meals.

hope this helps - good luck. i have lost 1 and 1/2 stone with 1 and 1/2 to go. Feeling so much better.

This week was rubbish on the scales ( lost less than 0.5 kg but i lost) but i had a day off the sachets due to being in an awkward situation where someone had arranged lunch for me as a surprise. My clothes are still getting looser though so wish me luck for the next fortnight

cenglish · 14/03/2010 13:23

katie i mix up my soups or hot choc with cold water to get lumps out then top up with hot water from kettle as we do not have a microwave at work.

Caramel drink is really sweet. vanilla is lovely hot with a spoon of coffee

notapizzaeater · 14/03/2010 19:50

I mix soups/hot choc/vanilla dessert up using cold water. Mix to a thick paste then top up with hot water. Never had any lumps and they are then just the right temp to drink. Not too sure how I will do this week been out 3 times but thats it now for the foreseeable future so fingers crossed ..... Lost 2stone 3 in 7 weeks so pleased with that

resolved · 15/03/2010 11:51

Wow nota pizza eater - well done!!
I have been going to the gym this weekend - no stone will be left unturned, i can see the end to this weight problem in sight.............

resolved · 15/03/2010 11:52

oops - the pun was unintended

dawn1205 · 18/03/2010 09:28

Hi, I am going for consultation in Southampton next week, with bloods booked for week after. Does anyone know how long after blood tests I will be able to start the diet.
Also, how difficult is it really. I am 11st 8, and want to get to about 9 1/2 stone, but am not looking forward to being hungry!

Any tips gratefully received. Thanks.

sailsclo · 18/03/2010 14:26

hi Dawn, the bloods should be back within about 48hrs so you should be able to start pretty soon.

im just starting week 9 and have lost 2 stone, so im guessing for you it will be easier as you will be on it for a shorter time than i will be.

you have to drink at least 2 litres of water a day. have a massive bowl of salad and or veg for lunch and dinner. its surprising but you dont get hungry (and i do love food!)

when you get your foods, get the selection packs then if you dont like one you wont be left with a whole box of some thing you dislike.

i find it easier to have hot chocolate, caramel drink and soups and the odd omlette and then have my salads/veg. but others like to use their sachets to make 'real' food with their veggies...... some people make curries etc. too much piddling around for my liking!

start drinking 2 litres of water a day now, so you will be ready when you start. dont get in a panic, it can take a week or so to get used to your timings etc. but just shout if we can help you.

prettywoman · 18/03/2010 19:11

Hi All,

I am having my bloods done on 30th and docs consultation on 6th April at the brentwood clinic. Can't wait to begin the course.

Has anyone had to lose the same amount and how long did it take? Is it worth all the money.I still have time to change my mind.
Please give your suggestions.

dawn1205 · 18/03/2010 20:56

Hi sailsclo
Thanks for advice. You are doning amazingly well. How much more weight do you want to lose? I guess I need to ween myself off the diet coke now too! That will be hard. Can you tell me what veg you can eat? Thanks, Dawn

resolved · 19/03/2010 15:19

HI All

Glad to see some new folk on the site. Sailsclo - that was great advice. I am on the 6th week of the diet and wanted to lose between 2 and 3 stone. I have now lost 1 stone and a half (almost) but it is a lot slower than i was given to expect. I am happy with this as it feels less drastic and my size has changed dramatically - from 14 down to 10. But i am feeling fab- most important.
Good luck everyone

sailsclo · 20/03/2010 07:34

prettywoamn....may bump into there, im also at Brentwood, have you been in yet? the girls there are lovely.

Dawn... I have another 2.5 stone to go.

Resolved....yes its a lot slower than i had imagined aswell, their adverts are VERY misleading, they have you believe its gonna take 8-12 weeks, which I had sorted the money for, but the adverts dont tell you it can take 6+ months in total.

I lost 3.5lb this week and thats after a double treatment!

anju72 · 22/03/2010 10:01

I wanted to lose 2st as well. They initially said it would take 8 weeks. But have lost 1st in 6 weeks. So slightly slower than most. Looks like its going to take me another 8 weeks to get the remaining weight off. But you know since you do see progress over time, it kind of motivates you to keep going.

derevkofan · 22/03/2010 16:32

I was given a target of 3 stones in 11-12 weeks and at 12 weeks I was only a pound off target. It's the phasing off after that that takes more time - a week each after you've reached target on phases 4, 5, 6 and 7 then onto stabilisation. I'm on phase 4 at the moment having now reached my target - I did get to the point where I was a few weeks behind and then I had a few weeks with large losses so caught up again. I've also lost a lot of inches as my main aim was to fit into clothes that I last wore 5 years ago - they are now too big despite weighing more than I did when I last wore them due to the inch-loss with contouring. On average they tend to quote 4 weeks for each stone in total that you want to lose so 3 stone is 12 weeks, 4 stone 16 weeks etc but obviously everyone is different. What any new starters need to remember is that they quote you the time to get to target weight - you need to add on the phasing off weeks to that if the dr doesn't mention it!

resolved · 24/03/2010 13:28

i must admit that my clothes are dropping off me now despite the apparent lack of weight loss or at least the slowness of weight loss!!

jellyjen · 24/03/2010 22:38

Hi I am new here. I was researching for reviews on tummy tuck when I stumbled on this forum. I have had twins (who are 12 now) and since having them I have struggled with a jellybelly. I have tried all sorts of diets and was finally resorting to a tummy tuck as I hurt my back last summer and now cannot do much. The GP says I need to loose weight. I am 15 stones now and stand at 5'3". Not good at all. I am otherwise healthy except for this bad back and excess weight. Now my knees are giving up on me too. I was on sureslim a couple of years ago and lost 2 stone and put it all back on and more. This diet sounds a bit like sureslim but with the additional treatment. Can someone please confirm this if it is very much like sureslim. I have tried practically all the diets under the sun and do not wish to spend anymore money on a another diet if I am going to get bored or put it all back on. I am tired of living in power pants and not being able to wear a normal pair of knickers. Can someone please shed some light on my predicament. Tummy tuck or this diet???
Thank you.

resolved · 24/03/2010 23:49

Gosh, tummy tuck is very drastic and isnt going to cure all the weight issues. This diet is expensive - that's for certain but it does seem to be effective because of the treatments. Have a consultation for both and weigh up the pros and cons.

I am over the moon today- i have lost 2.5kg and my size 12 jeans are geting baggy. Hurray!!! The difference has started to show,
