Bad, bad week so far, no gym yet (DH been working away/late) and a friend of DH's who works ina bakery brought round a HUGE box of goodies, I'm talking scones, donuts, croissants, teacakes and I can't help myself. I gave half of it to the ladies at DS1's pre school (Which they were very grateful for! ) and kept the other half for myself DH. Of course this week he's been away, so someone had to eat them! Yesterday I has 35 points (you are only suposed to have 24! ouch)

Celery sticks and a long walk for me today I think!

(of course I could have done an exercise dvd last night when DH was out, but I just sat on MN )

Sending better vibes to you all.. I have 5 days til weigh in so need to be good now! 7 weeks until skiing, so would really like to lose about 10lbs... we shall see...

ponto · 14/11/2008 20:58

Well done Jodie!

I lost 2lbs this week, which takes me back to where I was before I went on holiday. Just have to stay on track this week now, including a weekend staying with my in-laws then a book party at my house on Monday evening. I will feel obliged to buy loads of nibbles, then all my skinny friends will refuse to eat them and I will end up eating them myself. I need a plan...

SneakerPimp · 14/11/2008 22:51

do sw chips ponto,

you can do parsnip and sweet potato for variety,

i am very proud of us all this week,

i am finding i am loosing more on red days,

but i think they make me grumpy,

oh, and af has been here for 10 bloody days,

grump, grump, grump!

dd still sleeping and feeding like a sparrow,

the stress will shed me pounds,

oh,

and the big news of the day...

i ordered my wedding dress

Rumpel · 15/11/2008 18:51

OOOOOOh SNEAKY - what's it like - tell us tell us?

Well done everyone - can you give me you total weight loss to date and I'll update the stats please?

PONTO - celery sticks, carrot sticks, pretzels, bread sticks and humus, home made dip with light mayo and garlic/cheese, light guacomole, salsa - all low cal and healthy. If you are going to buy crisps buy M+S lights if you can - if you check the cals/fat on most other light crisps you are actually better buying tesco best or hand baked crips. You could also make brushcetta with a baguette and tomato passata, basil and mozzarella. What kinda book party is it - I adore books -there is nowt like the smell of a new book

JODIEhadababy · 15/11/2008 20:44

Oh Ponto, I leerve books... Tell us more!

Sneaky, I'm excited for you , nothing like a good wedding!

Rumpel - here goes, starting weight 12st 5lbs, current weight 11st 9lbs - 10lbs altogether.... whoop whoop

OP posts:
ponto · 18/11/2008 10:39

Thanks for all the snack advice! Book party was last night and I did a platter of crudites with hummus and salsa, few light crisps, breadsticks and a platter of melon and pineapple slices. Everyone commented how healthy it looked and had some, and I won't feel guilty about finishing up the leftovers. Did indulge a bit on the wine front though!

Jodie, it was an Usborne children's book party, my friend sells them. I had 10% of the total order to spend on books, but I ordered far more than that, plus I spent quite a bit on the wine (still quite a lot left though), so it wasn't a profitable evening. Very good fun though!

ponto · 20/11/2008 10:40

Anyone still around? Weighed today, lost a further half a pound. A step in the right direction but I am a bit disappointed it's so slow. So, starting weight 13st 3.5lbs, now 12st 9.5 lbs, total loss 8lbs. It's looking unlikely I'll make it to a stone by Christmas at this rate!

JODIEhadababy · 20/11/2008 11:49

Ponto, thats great, been abit about posting o here this week as I;ve been really naughty. Been out for a couple of pizzas with frinds, and everyone is full of cold so eaten loads of gooey stodgy things... As a result I've put on 1lb

Diet starts again today, so, so far I've consumed,

1 bowl of Special K
2 cups of coffee,

Just about to have a weight watchers soup for lunch...

BUT...... am out for dinner again tonight, must remember to have a salad

Rumpel · 21/11/2008 15:45

Hi All - me too I have stayed the same this week. bah! All those yummy Xmas goodies are starting to float about now - mince pies - yummy. I need to lose another 2 stone for March for sure.

Gracie14 · 21/11/2008 16:39

Hi all,

Can i please join. I definately need some support started slimming world 3 weeks ago and have lost 8 pounds but need to lose at least another 2 stone by july as bridesmaid.

My Ds is 10 weeks and i'm breastfeeding (so starving most of the time) i weigh in on a thursday and this week only lost a pound and i've been so good - and walked a lot which is so frustrating. At the moment i'm sick of thinking about food and what i can and can't have but trying my hardest

I'm 5ft 9in and currently weigh 13st 9lbs (was 12 stone 1 pound before i got pregnant) i really want to be 11 and a half stone which i was when i met my partner so heres hoping i can get there.

well done girls for all your losses s far lets hope there are lots more of those to come

ponto · 22/11/2008 10:55

Hi Gracie, welcome to the thread and well done on your super-fast weight loss so far!

I'm bfing too and also feeling the hunger pangs so eating more Syns than I should, but I am still losing weight slowly, so I think I must be doing what my body needs. And it's more important to make enough milk for your baby than lose weight quickly. If you carry on at a pound a week you will definitely get there in time for your bridesmaid duties.

I am being very bad this week as we have visitors, but hoping to get back on track from Monday, in time for weigh-in on Thursday.

MrsThierryHenry · 22/11/2008 11:09

I haven't got time to read this whole thread but am and worried by your plans to shed so much weight just a few months after giving birth. I speak as someone who put on 3.5 stone during pregnancy but I've now shed most of it. It took me two years but I'm there and now feel amazing.

It's really, really hard and painful to be so much bigger than you used to be, and especially if you have lovely pre-preg clothes that you can't fit into. I felt ugly all the time when I was bigger. But when you have the pressures of a young baby to look after, I know from experience that the worst thing you can do is pressurise yourself to look good again.

I'm not saying don't lose the weight, definitely not, but just be kind to yourselves and don't punish yourselves to reach your target weight by a certain time. If you change your habits in a small way, such as eating smaller portions but of the same foods as normal, you can easily drop the pounds and lose the inches without adding extra stress to your lives. Also walk (fast) as much as you can, don't drive or take public transport unless it's necessary. This will help to tone your muscles and exercise your heart.

Best of luck!

JODIEhadababy · 22/11/2008 17:47

Hi MrsTH, thanks for your concerns, I think most of us by now have realised that 2 stone was too much too soon (thread was started Ages ago) I think most of us are following 'plans' like Slimming World or Weight Watchers, which allow for things like BF and giving birth!

Your hints and tips are useful though!!

Thanks
xx

large glass of skimmed milk,

ponto · 23/11/2008 13:23

Well done SneakerPimp, you will be fading away!

I think I need to do some red days too, but I just have real carb cravings. Perhaps I will try buying more meat this week - dh will love that!

My visitors have just left, so I will be having salad for tea I think, having just had masses of spag bol and apple crumble with ice cream for lunch!

SneakerPimp · 23/11/2008 15:47

ponto,

try stews, with meat and veggies and add turnip or swede,

also, i did a sausage cassarole the other day (1syn a sausage) and did roasted butternut squash to go with,

also, save your healthy bs,

the spud allowance is good enough if you do wedges with it,

lamb shanks are great, cheap and filling, added mushrooms and loads of carrotts,

steak with asparagus, mushroon and sweet peppers is another fave here,

goulash is filling, and dp loves it

Rumpel · 24/11/2008 15:38

Hi All, well done you SNEAKY
I am rubbish!!! Same again this week. It was Dhs Bday on friday and we had a curry - I had a sore tum all night and all the next day - so it wasn't worth the calories. I've been drinking too much vino last week so I am having a dry week this week. Wine always piles on those extra calories. haven't been to my dacning for 3 weeks either as I was so tired at night buit I am going back to tap tonight - exercise is the key.

Welcome GRACIE - we will give you cyber support Just ask PONTO

JODIEhadababy · 24/11/2008 21:35

Well done everyone, and welcome Gracie!
