It's one of those fruit slice things - with raisins inbetween 2 sheets of pastry - looks like a fly cemetary

The new computer for my exercise bike arrived today - thank goodness so will be able to start using it - exercise is imperative for me - so far npothing yet this week

notsoseriousanymore · 25/09/2008 21:25

Hi guys!

I have been very good today! Cottage pie for lunch and fruit for dinner / supper (I am trying to make my main meal of the day at lunchtime, rather than eating at night, as I have been told that eating in the evening is to be avoided!)

Trouble is, for me, I am cooking for 1 - so I have been thinking of making a large cottage pie (or other meal) and then spliting it into 4 and freezing the other portions, so I can just desfrost them as needed - does any one have any experience of doing that? And does anyone have good recipes that freeze well? WOuldn't need to freeze for longer than 3-4 weeks!

thanks!!

NSSA x

JODIEhadababy · 26/09/2008 14:15

NSSA, are yo a single mum? how do you do it? hats off to you...

As for recipes that you can freeze, you can try lasagne and chili, or when you buy meat, before you freeze it, seperate it into freezer bags for one portion size. You can then do pork chop/chicken/lamb with salad and Jacket Potato or with boiled pots and veg, or even rice.....

Feeling pleased as had lost another 1lb at SW yesterday, despite my high cake consumption. So am now under 13 stone again, hooray! Going to try really hard this week, have done well today, resisted cookies at friend's house today then made leek and potato soup for lunch. Have used no Syns so far so might try a Chinese tonight - could have a veggie dish with rice and let dh choose some meat, he's feeling a little deprived!

JODIEhadababy · 26/09/2008 19:57

Well done Ponto and enjoy your Chinese, I haven't had a Chinese for such a long time

Hows everyone getting along? I;m not doing great, but not doing badly either. Got my forst period today, so that explains all he hunger and the reason I;ve not lost much...

Jodie, it's always nice to know there's a reason for cravings, isn't it? Doesn't make them any easier to resist though!

I have been fairly good the last few days, enjoyed my Chinese and felt virtuous as I chose wisely and had chicken chow mein, though I did succumb to some of dh's sweet and sour chicken in batter. I have been 'owning up' to any indulgences and calculating the syns this week, and often it's not as bad as I had feared, e.g I just ate two fairy cakes that I thought would use up all my syns for today, but in fact they were only 4 each, so I still have a couple left for later (can have up to 15 syns a day, but I'm aiming for 10). Hope my honesty shows up as a loss on the scales on Thursday!

Hope everyone else's weekend is going well too.

wobblingweeble · 28/09/2008 19:46

Hi All,

Been good today although just had a sit down at long last and a cup of tea with a Wispa [relax emoticon] Saw them yesterday in Morrisons and couldn't resist. Still have not been on my exercise bike as I have a house full of sick folk! DD has been poorly for a week now with a terrible cold, now a hacking couhg, given it to Calvin and her Daddy! So busy running after them and doing housework, gardening etc. I shall weigh in again tomorrow and see if nything has shifted this week. I have really noticed my shape change over the past couple of weeks although not so much weight loss. I put on the corset I bought in Anne Summers last night and slept (what is that?) in it until 5am when it got too unbearable. It is to pull my ribs back in as I noticed a big diffference in fat distribution after having DD - yyour rib cage expands due to ligaments relaxing so you end up laying down more fat there.

Anwya am off for a bath - hope you are all doing well. it will be good to see how far we have all got by Cristmasxxx

Yesterday I was good until I found a tin of custard in the cupboard and had a huge urge for an apple pie. (which was delicious!)

JODIEhadababy · 30/09/2008 11:49

Ahh Snoopdog When's the big day?

2lbs not too bad, I'm off on Monday to Spain for a week, so I bet I'll ut on ALOT more than that with all the yummy tapas..

Weighing myself tomorrow, but not holding out much hope, my period always makes me abit boaty (sometimes up to 4lbs) but this one's the first, so it's superbad, I feel shit! and sweet things are making it better I've also done next to no exercise this week

HI all,

Where abouts in Scotland Snoop? I live in bonny Stirling but parents are in the Highlands and I used to live in Largs.

1lb loss for me - bit crap but hey ho at least it is something. Whole house is down with the lurgy and my throat is sore (been up loads with kids/DH so am knackered).

I am off up to my Parents on Friday for 2 weeks (respite)and it is DDs 2nd Birthday on Saturday (cue cake) so am about future weight loss. No tap or bellydacning for 2 weeks either - I am going to yake my skipping rope though.

have a fab holiday JODIE - let us know where/what it is like _ we've never been to Sapin and are looking at child friendly places form now on.

JODIEhadababy · 02/10/2008 10:07

Nothing olost this week, but then that's not a surprise! I've been a Big Fat Pig . But at least nothing put on I suppose....

Weeble, 1 lb off is great! Just imagine a tub of butter - that's a lot of fat!

Lost another 1.5 lbs this week, so total loss now 6 lbs. Slimming world website has a weight loss predictor, you enter what you've lost and it plots it on a graph, so you can see you might reach your target. If I can manage 2 lbs a week I'll get there in January, but I'll have to be very strict for that to happen, I think.

Snoop, I love the way you cross out the food you're pretending you didn't eat. Think I might try that on my food diary!

JODIEhadababy · 02/10/2008 15:55

Well done Ponto! I'm off to a spinning class tonight, but My holiday starts on Monday, so god only know's what will happen next week!!!! I 'plan' on doing aload of walking, and picking sensibly off the menu. But we'll see!

6lb ponto

i am pissed pissed off,

bloody diets...

i am, as i type shovelling tasty crisps in to my face,

anyone want to make me feel less guilty share them with me?

i am also 'watching' nose bags on e bay,

i swear my first period is due after having dd 12 + 1 weeks ago and it is making me do bad things,

my belly wobbles when i brush my teeth

SnoopDog · 03/10/2008 23:50

snoop dog calling in for attention

i have had 3 (ok, ok, fuck me, ok, 3) more packs of snack based crisps tonight,

feel totally fat and rubbish,

(note to pom bear fans)

(oh my, they were good)

JODIEhadababy · 04/10/2008 07:48

OHH Soopdog, I LOVE Pombears!!! Glad you enjoyed yourself! I had my period last week and me oh my could I eat!!!!

My body is in the process of 'paying me back' I had a chippy tea last night (yum yum) and I have not stopped going to the toilet since 5 this morning.... ahhhh

OP posts:
SnoopDog · 04/10/2008 11:01

i had to double check the bin this morning,

i have never in my life eaten 4 packets of crisps

i am blaming af

right started the day well,

rasberries, melon, mandarin and grapefruit salad

must try harder...

ponto · 04/10/2008 11:02

SnoopDog, at least you are admitting to your lapses. I've been forcing myself to count the syns in everything I eat that I shouldn't (like 3 Asda Extra Special chocolate chip, fruit and nut cookies yesterday! - 6.5 syns each) and seeing it written down seems to help me stop doing the same the next day.

I've ended up becoming practically veggie this week - I think Quorn helps you lose weight by not being tasty enough to make you want to eat a lot of it!

SnoopDog · 04/10/2008 20:42

thanks guys

i have had a veggie curry for lunch (from the book free with this months slimming world magazine)

tonight i have had some flavoured rice and a small amount of chicken,

i dont feel any thinner,

i will be gutted if i have not lost this week,

even just 1lb i would be happy with,

i have (apart from last nights crisp feast) been really good this week,

JODIEhadababy · 05/10/2008 21:48

Right, off on holiday tomorrow, please God don't let me come off course (a great deal) Lots of fish, lots of walking, please please please let me have some will power this week...
