⭐️OPEN TO ALL⭐️ Weight Loss, Wellbeing & Motivation Thread To Support Healthy Habits.

Following on from ⭐️ LOSE IT! July Jumpstart 2026⭐️

Here we are with our Active August LOSE IT! Thread. To reach optimum health and vitality (as well as a trim body) we need to focus not only on our food intake; but movement, our mental health and sleep quality too!

Who doesn’t want to feel good and energetic as well looking great!
Get on board to reset & refresh and become a healthier version of yourself.

These threads are for those who’d like to lose weight and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We have a WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable) that’s based on several sensible principles including:-

  1. Eat a variety of real whole foods such as fresh vegetables, salad, berries, beans, nuts, eggs, lean meat, good fats etc.
  2. Reduce sugars, simple carbs, alcohol and UPFs.
  3. Plan your meals & log your intake. Also be mindful of portion control.
  4. Intermittent fasting - research suggests (Zoe study) that adhering to an eating window of 10 hours can have a positive effect on health, wellbeing and weight loss. I personally have a eating window of approximately 7hrs - 12:00 - 19:00.
  5. Stay hydrated! 💧
  6. Move as much as able. Particularly strength based exercise. Muscle keeps you strong as well as revs up your metabolism.
  7. Get the fibre in! Great for your gut biome as well as 💩
  8. SLEEP! Good sleep hygiene and a regularly sleep routine can be beneficial to weight loss. I’m always more hungry following poor sleep.
  9. Be mindful about your own mental wellbeing and try not to eat your feelings. We’ve all been there!
  10. Be kind to yourself! ❤️ One or two slip ups won’t undo all your previous efforts. Just check-in with yourself, reinforce your good intentions and carry on!

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost over 3 stone
after having been on the wrong side of 12stone.

Are you in?😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

Any recipes/workouts that have worked for you, you’d like to share?

I wish you a speedy recovery @TheRealHousewife .

BreakingBroken · 11/08/2026 15:18

@TheRealHousewife once the skin infection is resolved then you can focus on the pre-probiotics. You eat such a clean healthy diet I’m sure the gut bacteria rebalance won’t take long.

Used the machine in Boots that tells you your body fat today and it has gone UP!! How??? I've been in a pretty big deficit for a month!

I should, by the calories I've eaten this last month (11 July to today), have lost 8lbs. I'm the exact same weight as I was on 11 July. I went up in the middle of this. Ugh.

I'm not sure how accurate those are.

I had mine measured on an Inbody machine at the gym in April. It showed a dangerous level of visceral fat, but I expected that.

It also told me that my muscle and bone density were at the top end of normal for my age. (A big improvement. At one point my thighs were so weak that I had to my arms to get out of a chair.)

mermadeincornwall · 12/08/2026 06:29

Was 10st 10lb yesterday.

FiveShelties · 12/08/2026 07:13

Weighed in today and am delighted to have lost 1.8 pounds this week, so 2.6 pounds down and 5.8 to go.

I wanted to be 143 pounds before my birthday later this month but only two weeks to go so cannot see that happening now. Will be pleased to take any loss over the next couple of weeks😁

151.4 Pounds 1st August
150.6 Pounds 5th August
148.8 Pounds 12th August

Aim 143 Pounds

LemonDrizzle23 · 12/08/2026 07:23

Well done WOWers! No weighing for me today as we’re away. A lot of bread is being eaten, but also a lot of exercise is being done, so hopefully they are somewhat balancing each other out…!

Next goal remains 12 st 12 which I would love to see in September.

Have a good week everyone.

Fellsbells · 12/08/2026 07:34

Well done everyone.

This week’s average is 1lb lower than last weeks. Still trying to find my maintenance amongst all the usual water/hormone fluctuations. Aiming for 1800 calories a day now, but hoping I end up closer to 2000.

Good luck wowers.

Sunflowers83 · 12/08/2026 09:05

Good morning all. It’s the first time I’ve got on to the August thread (summer holiday busy-ness!). I don’t think I’m able to catch up on all the posts from the last 12 days, so I think I might just have to pick up from here. (Sorry if I’ve missed any significant updates.)

Check-in today using my Happy Scale ‘moving average’.
SW (16.06.26): 8st13
Last week: 8st13.2
Current: 8st12.8
Target weight: ??8st?? (Lose tummy fat!)

I’m clearly not making any progress, but still unsure how much of my unhappiness with my body will be solved by losing pounds and how much is more about body recomposition.

DreamingOfGeneHunt · 12/08/2026 10:02

Morning! Going to be a hot one. Child has football this afternoon but other than that I've got nothing on so I'm going to do a big clear-out of clothes, books and toys.
That should burn some calories!

Hope everyone has a fab day!

RoseInAPot · 12/08/2026 10:20

Good morning WOWers
I’m using my Happy Scale trend weight, and started on 24th June (7 weeks ago) with a weight of 66.5kg.

I hit my first milestone (65.2kg) on 13th July but this morning after weighing my trend is 65.4kg, so need to get that trend going down again to really own that milestone!

My actual weight this morning was 65.7kg, 0.5kg down on last week but thanks to the Happy Scale smoothing still taking in my post holiday gain it is currently going in the wrong direction.

I said I needed to up the exercise and I have done that successfully, with an average of 15345 steps over the last 7 days and 6 weight sessions, so that’s going well.
Calorie intake is still too high though; 1760 per day on average over the last 7 days. The holiday level intake of wine/ice cream/snacks has reduced but clearly not enough even though I have a deficit of 230 calories a day thanks to my exercise levels.

According to the trend then I’ve lost 1.1kg in total in 7 weeks which is very little but at least a loss; must speed it up! If I can get below 1500 calories a day that would be good. I am a slow loser and 65 to 66kg has always been my ’sticky’ weight. I’ll keep plodding on.

moondip · 12/08/2026 10:44

Morning everyone. I am rejoining you after being MIA for July. I’ve had a little nose through this thread - well done everyone for the accountability and determination through this hard weather, which I’ve hugely struggled with. But hey-ho, “It’s a marathon, not a sprint,” as NutraCheck happily reminds me every time I clock in a gain 🤣🫣

SW (01/01/2026): 102.1kg
CW: 88.65kg
GW1: 80kg
GW2: 72kg

DandelionPockets · 12/08/2026 12:06

SW 12st 10lbs (20th July)
CW 12st 2lbs
GW 11st
Height 5ft 7in

Going well so far, lost 2lbs since last Wednesday.
Sticking to calorie deficit most days.
Average calories last week per day was 1775
Finished week 4 of C25k this morning. Feeling good!
Should reach goal weight by Christmas :)

PatienceOfEngels · 12/08/2026 12:22

Afternoon all!

Hope you're feeling better soon @TheRealHousewife

Not weighing in until next week.

Yesterday went well - finished off a good food day with yoga.

Today:
B- boiled egg, 1 slice rye/wholemeal toast and butter, 2x coffee with milk.
L-portion homemade ratatouille out the freezer with 2 slices multigrain bread.
D-chicken pasta pesto with roast peppers and courgette.

Movement - cycle to shop and back (3km). 1 hour gardening.

WearyAuldWumman · 12/08/2026 12:56

Weight had jumped up two pounds this past week when I started back on my regular exercise programme. Now back down to the 14 stones, so no change overall.

Had sent away for a firm exercise bra some months ago, but couldn't get into it. Wore it for the first time yesterday. (I've been using Matalan exercise bras - they don't do a lot for you when you're running or doing star jumps.)

socks1107 · 12/08/2026 13:39

So I’m a 1lb down this week

SW 13.13
CW 10.7
GW 10.5

inching closer finally to some sort of maintenance! Well done all it’s not easy in this heat

ToddlersAreBananas · 12/08/2026 14:15

Starting Weight (22.7.26) - 10st 4lb
Last Week's Weight - 10st 5lb
Current Weight - 10st 4lb

Goal - 9st 3lb by 1st December
Height - 5' 5"
Baby - 10 weeks old (ebf)

I'm not sure how accurate these figures are - a boob of milk weighs half a stone, and I end up drinking so much I gain a stone in 5 mins

Think I'll just continue, but might be more mindful of snickerty snackk occurances. Specifically at 3.30pm and at 9pm. Will replace with herbal tea.

ChunkyMonkey36 · 12/08/2026 16:38

15st 0.5lbs today, but we’re not taking that as gospel as I’m at my mums for a few days and used her scales!

If true, that would be 23lbs/10.66kg off. But I will check again when I’m home on Friday and potentially reassess then 😂

BreakingBroken · 12/08/2026 18:12

i've tried to pay better attention to my dessert choice...ice cream and caramel or green apple and caramel. learning how to make the perfect caramel sauce hasn't helped.
exercise mojo not yet returned although with less smoke in the air maybe today will see a bit more spring in my step.

wow 158.8
down 1.2 lbs since aug 1st
18.8 lbs to reach my goal and learn how to to maintain

PatienceOfEngels · 13/08/2026 08:53

Great NSV @WearyAuldWumman !

Managed yoga yesterday and added a mini Magnum for an afternoon snack and a non-alcoholic beer during the eclipse. Still just within my calories

Going to be a scorcher here today and tomorrow so not expecting many steps or exercise (except maybe 20 minutes of yoga).

B-boiled egg and 1 slice rye/wholewheat toast and butter, 2x coffee with milk
L-leftover pesto pasta with roast vegetables
D-pesto chicken wraps (with salad and leftover tzatziki).

DreamingOfGeneHunt · 13/08/2026 09:57

Morning!
Very very hot already, I made a butter bean and courgette bake yesterday so I'm having that cold with salad for lunch. (It's courgette time in the allotment and anything that can have courgette in it, has courgette in it.)

Still 14 stone 9!!!!

LemonDrizzle23 · 13/08/2026 21:56

So hot still! We have been having a great week away, but today was a bit much. Still did nearly 15,000 steps though. Currently covered in a cool pad, staring into a fan.

Between the heat and the extra chocolate I’m please there are no scales here….

LemonDrizzle23 · 14/08/2026 22:27

Well after a very active week away I’m feeling very grateful to be 30lbs down. A few activities required being weighed 😬😬 which two years ago I don’t think I would have been prepared to do. I do also know now that I weigh 4kg more than DH however🙄 Also lots of stairs climbed at the waterpark which would previously have knackered me. So yeah, feeling very happy with myself but also inspired to keep on going!!

I hope everyone is survive this last bit of heatwave. Looking forward to a slightly cooler week from tomorrow.

WearyAuldWumman · 14/08/2026 22:59

Same here. I'm sticking at 14 stones, but that's better than my original 16 st 4 lbs.

Got a compliment today from someone who said that I'm noticeably slimmer round the sides.
