⭐️OPEN TO ALL⭐️ Weight Loss, Wellbeing & Motivation Thread To Support Healthy Habits.

Following on from ⭐️LOSE IT! Active April 2026⭐️

I blinked and missed April 🙃. Apologies for my absence; the month passed by so quickly! I’m feeling a little bit more human and absolutely doing my best to move more and eat well.

Jumping into May LOSE IT! - To reach optimum health and vitality (as well as a trim body) we need to focus not only on our food intake; but movement, our mental health and sleep quality too!

Who doesn’t want to feel good and energetic as well looking great!

Get on board to reset & refresh and become a healthier version of yourself.

These threads are for those who’d like to lose weight and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We have a WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable) that’s based on several sensible principles including:-

  1. Eat a variety of real whole foods such as fresh vegetables, salad, berries, beans, nuts, eggs, lean meat, good fats etc.
  2. Reduce sugars, simple carbs, alcohol and UPFs.
  3. Plan your meals & log your intake. Also be mindful of portion control.
  4. Intermittent fasting - research suggests (Zoe study) that adhering to an eating window of 10 hours can have a positive effect on health, wellbeing and weight loss. I personally have a eating window of approximately 7hrs - 12:00 - 19:00.
  5. Stay hydrated! 💧
  6. Move as much as able. Particularly strength based exercise. Muscle keeps you strong as well as revs up your metabolism.
  7. Get the fibre in! Great for your gut biome as well as 💩
  8. SLEEP! Good sleep hygiene and a regularly sleep routine can be beneficial to weight loss. I’m always more hungry following poor sleep.
  9. Be mindful about your own mental wellbeing and try not to eat your feelings. We’ve all been there!
  10. Be kind to yourself! ❤️ One or two slip ups won’t undo all your previous efforts. Just check-in with yourself, reinforce your good intentions and carry on.

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost over 3 stone.
After having been on the wrong side of 12st Im now hovering around 9st 3lbs.

Are you in?😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

Any recipes/workouts that have worked for you, you’d like to share?

Am on I need this thread. Need to get back on my wagon. Thankyou @TheRealHousewife

HappyLittleTreeFriend · 30/04/2026 11:03

I’m back! Hello all - I really have just been not feeling it with calorie counting for the last month, just couldn’t be bothered, so I’ve had a break, hopefully not gone too far off my own wagon/rails 😂🤪 and feeling positive with the sunny weather to have a proper go of it in May and lose a few more pounds!

Fellsbells · 30/04/2026 11:37

Checking in for May

Pasta4Dinner · 30/04/2026 11:44

checking in and hoping it’s the month I get under 80kg

Rosetime · 30/04/2026 12:04

Joining for May.
I followed the April thread.

moondip · 30/04/2026 12:32

Thanks for the new thread @TheRealHousewife
😘

PipkinOfPepper · 30/04/2026 12:52

Can I join in please?

I’ve been trying to actively lose weight since January after getting a nasty shock on the scales in December. Long story short: I needed to lose around 5 stone / 30kg. I’ve lost two stone (13.2 kg to be precise) so far but I still have a long way to go. Currently hoping to hit 79-80kg by the end of the year.

I’m aiming for around 1500 cal a day but I don’t use an app so it’s very much a guesstimate. Trying to increase my steps too, and drink more water.

TheRealHousewife · 30/04/2026 12:53

You’re very welcome @moondip @TealSloth x

Great to have you all join us again @Fellsbells @HappyLittleTreeFriend @Pasta4Dinner & @Rosetime x

As I’ve been so absent one of my goals is to post daily 😬

Menu
Meal 1 - Vegetable Soup & seeded gf bread.
Meal 2 - Chicken tray bake. Greek yoghurt, cacao nibs & pecans.
Drinks - Tea, black coffee, hibiscus tea & water.

Thank you!

I’ve just properly gone down a dress size - after being a size 20/22 I tried on a few size 18 items in M&S and they fit 🥹 - so I’m currently feeling very motivated to keep going!

Emmadaily · 30/04/2026 13:22

TheWayTheLightFalls · 30/04/2026 14:18

Signing in! Thanks @TheRealHousewife . I went to my first weights sessions at a gym today and loved it, check me out doing Romanian deadlifts Grin. Sticking to OMAD Mon, maintaining at my goal weight hopefully. And building muscle!

LemonDrizzle23 · 30/04/2026 15:59

Signing in for May - thank you for the new thread @TheRealHousewife I’m glad you are feeling a little more human!

I’m hoping to build on the movement from the second half of April and actually reach my two stone off goal by the end of May! (Before half term strikes and I temporarily stall again 🤦🏼‍♀️)

Fingers crossed. Here we all go!

FridayNighFeeling · 30/04/2026 21:14

Also signing in for May, thanks @TheRealHousewife

Well done @TheWayTheLightFalls what sort of weight size were you using? Used 8kg on Monday - can still feel bits hurting Wink
Welcome @PipkinOfPepper
Same goal @LemonDrizzle23 - tantalisingly close!

I'm just hoping to keep doing what I'm doing - looking after myself with food, exercise, mental health and a bit of grooming like scrubbing my feet and putting foot cream on.

40kg for lifting and 10 for arms/bells! But I lift stuff at work all day so in some ways I’ve been practicing for years Grin

FridayNighFeeling · 30/04/2026 21:23

That's amazing! I guess it depends where you're starting yes.

Crollaspita · Yesterday 02:57

Joining for May!

So I’m going to eat twice a day mainly oats or Greek yoghurt and fruit for breakfast and then a heavier dinner with plenty of healthy proteins and vegetables. I eat from around 11am to 7pm.

Planning to lose one 5kg by the end summer and 2kg in this month alone!

I’ll be drinking more water, and trying to just stick to two meals a day. No snacking. Cutting back on white bread and sometimes swapping out rice for cauliflower rice.

LemonDrizzle23 · Yesterday 07:16

Ok, my starting point for May is officially 13 st 11.6. @FridayNighFeeling I’m like 3lbs off the 2 stone mark. We can do this this month!

TheRealHousewife · Yesterday 07:47

Happy May 1st! 🙂

@PipkinOfPepper Thats real progress! There’s nothing quite like trying something on and feeling svelte 👌

@Emmadaily You're very welcome and that sounds sensible and enjoyable x

@TheWayTheLightFalls I always love your updates! You’re so consistent whilst at the same time upping your level. Good luck with your Romanian deadlifts 👏👏👏

@LemonDrizzle23 You’re doing so well! I know you’ll be giving it all you’ve got and that’s all you can do 👍

You’re very welcome @FridayNighFeeling Talking of feet, when I get washed ready for bed I always moisturise and put a pair of cotton trainer socks on and they’re summer sandal ready in no time x

Welcome to the thread @Crollaspita

I'm just going to lurk in the naughty corner until I'm in the right frame of mind.
My weight's been creeping up, but just before Christmas I had a huge unexplained gain.
Had some bloods done and I'm borderline hypothyroidism. Waiting for my cortisol results.
I eat twice a day, when I'm hungry, and as long as I stay away from chocolate very rarely snack.
I feel stuck in a loop, I need to sort my diet and exercise out to sleep better, but because my sleep is so bad I don't have the energy to exercise or prep healthy food.
Hoping for some inspiration from you all!

FridayNighFeeling · Yesterday 08:41

Yes mine needs quite a bit of TLC - I don't get them out as a rule really - only for our holiday in July @TheRealHousewife

Checking in to start the month on -27lbs. Really really want to get the 2st now!

Good luck all

Welcome to the thread @CherryogDogSorry to read you’re struggling a bit. I was you a few years ago. I was eating clean within a calorie controlled diet and started gaining. After bloods taken I was diagnosed with Hashimotos and now I’m on thyroxine for life. If it turns out yours is also down to an under active thyroid, thyroxine will help. In regards to poor sleep, this will disrupt your ghrelin (hunger hormone) and leptin (satiety hormone) levels. Poor sleep also disrupts cortisol and reduces insulin sensitivity. For me reducing sugar and sugary foods, simple carbs, alcohol, rice & pasta all helped. I increased my fibre, protein and healthy fats. If you can prioritise sleep as it will help. Baby steps as you don’t want to overwhelm yourself x

I’d like to get to my first stone off over the next few weeks, currently sitting at 10.5lbs off.

I’m in that funny middle ground where my leggings feel a bit looser on the waist, but I don’t think I look any different yet - so that could well just be that they’ve stretched!

We are getting to my preferred time of year for dieting - I’m a winter salad dodger usually but will happily eat it when it’s warmer, so it might not feel like such a slog!
