⭐️OPEN TO ALL⭐️ Weight Loss, Wellbeing & Motivation Thread To Support Healthy Habits.

Following on from ⭐️LOSE IT! Active April 2026⭐️

I blinked and missed April 🙃. Apologies for my absence; the month passed by so quickly! I’m feeling a little bit more human and absolutely doing my best to move more and eat well.

Jumping into May LOSE IT! - To reach optimum health and vitality (as well as a trim body) we need to focus not only on our food intake; but movement, our mental health and sleep quality too!

Who doesn’t want to feel good and energetic as well looking great!

Get on board to reset & refresh and become a healthier version of yourself.

These threads are for those who’d like to lose weight and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We have a WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable) that’s based on several sensible principles including:-

  1. Eat a variety of real whole foods such as fresh vegetables, salad, berries, beans, nuts, eggs, lean meat, good fats etc.
  2. Reduce sugars, simple carbs, alcohol and UPFs.
  3. Plan your meals & log your intake. Also be mindful of portion control.
  4. Intermittent fasting - research suggests (Zoe study) that adhering to an eating window of 10 hours can have a positive effect on health, wellbeing and weight loss. I personally have a eating window of approximately 7hrs - 12:00 - 19:00.
  5. Stay hydrated! 💧
  6. Move as much as able. Particularly strength based exercise. Muscle keeps you strong as well as revs up your metabolism.
  7. Get the fibre in! Great for your gut biome as well as 💩
  8. SLEEP! Good sleep hygiene and a regularly sleep routine can be beneficial to weight loss. I’m always more hungry following poor sleep.
  9. Be mindful about your own mental wellbeing and try not to eat your feelings. We’ve all been there!
  10. Be kind to yourself! ❤️ One or two slip ups won’t undo all your previous efforts. Just check-in with yourself, reinforce your good intentions and carry on.

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost over 3 stone.
After having been on the wrong side of 12st Im now hovering around 9st 3lbs.

Are you in?😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

Any recipes/workouts that have worked for you, you’d like to share?

Made it to Village day.
Didn't get to have breakfast. Feeling rubbish and period pains just bad.
I have spent a lot of time with the hot water bottle.
8314 steps today, did not want to move much. Barely got 400kcal in.
Good night, all.

Fellsbells · 05/05/2026 07:37

Checking in with no excuses and an absolutely terrible weigh in. 6lbs up! Seriously back on it today. I need to calorie track otherwise this happens.

TheRealHousewife · 05/05/2026 08:33

Good Morning Everyone

@TheGirlWhoLived I hope you & your DS is on the mend! And thank you.

@Rosetime Im much much further north. And it was cold 🥶. I’m pleased to say the sun is shiny again today! I hope you’re not in so much pain today, I know from past experience just how draining and debilitating period pain can be 💐

Welcome @ScarletMane and congratulations on your baby. Sounds like you’ve made a good start with your loss to date 👍

@Pasta4Dinner Feet definitely lose weight. Quite a few years ago I went up 1/2 size and thought it was age related (I didn’t connect it with being my heaviest). After I lost the bulk of the weight gain I went down 1/2 a size.

Welcome @Hlglu56 Thats a good solid plan you’ve outlined 👌

@LemonDrizzle23 😂 Good post! Confused is my default setting.

@JustOneMoreMargarita Always best to draw a line and not dwell on what’s passed. Everyday is a fresh slate.

@Fellsbells We’ve all had those shock weigh-ins. It won’t all be fat gain. Plenty of fluids and mindful eating will soon see it off. You’ve done the worst part by facing the scale. Now you know where you at you can move on 👍

Menu
Meal 1 - Avocado salad & Red lentil bagel. Mixed nuts.
Meal 2 - Haddock, peas, sweetcorn & salad. Greek yoghurt.
Drinks - Tea, black coffee, hibiscus tea & water.

Our weekend was very dull and grey, but I fell in the sticky toffee pudding instead @LemonDrizzle23 Grin

Have a good day all, it's WOW tomorrow and I don't know which way it will go. Yesterday was good - 5 mile walk plus exercise class and calories good, but lets see what the scales think. Off to do 6.5 miles today

SeekingHappinesss · 05/05/2026 09:06

Hello everyone!

I have eaten far too much over this bank holiday weekend, bbqs and puddings. I also had 2 glasses of wine and a beer. I have stuck to my eating window though. Somehow my weight hasn't gone up!

Back to it today. I was meant to get up this morning for a run but our toddler decided not to get up early today so I took the extra sleep. I will have to try and fit it in later but I'm not sure how it will work at the end of my fasting period? Maybe I will do it after dinner?

ScarletMane · 05/05/2026 09:07

Thanks @TheRealHousewife!

I'm out to dinner with friends tonight, but I've brought a chicken and cous cous salad in to work with me for lunch and having eggs and fruit for breakfast. My goal is to refuse any sweet treats that will inevitably be floating about the office!

PipkinOfPepper · 05/05/2026 09:23

Morning all! A good weigh in this morning - 97.4kg, a small loss since yesterday but crucially not a gain after the long weekend (which I was expecting and would absolutely have been deserved after the cake / ice cream / cocktails).

I’m finding it reassuring that one or two treats aren’t derailing the progress. In the past when I’ve tried strict diets I’ve given up quickly, but as I’m seeing this as a long-term necessary lifestyle change I’m being kinder to myself about sometimes eating things which aren’t great physically because of the mental health benefits of eg. going for dinner with friends or having an ice cream with DD in the sunshine. Does that make sense?

It probably means I’m losing more slowly but I’m hoping it means that a) I can last the course and get to my GW, and b) hopefully keep it off!

Such a horrid feeling, commiserations. Lots -if not all - of that will be water weight though. Can you have a few days of lower carbs + up your water intake and re-weigh in a few days?

CherryogDog · 05/05/2026 09:44

I've had far too much sweet stuff and general unhealthy foods on my weekend away, plus lack of my usual exercise so no surprise that I've put on a couple of pounds.
70.06 kg this morning.
Goal weight 57 kg.
I'm a daily weigher, not because I'm obsessed with the numbers, but because it fluctuates so much that if I weighed on a "fat" day, after being "good", I'd probably console myself with crisps and chocolate. If it was a lighter day, I'd think I had some leeway and eat some crisps and chocolate.
I had an unpleasant shock at some of the photos shared on the family WhatsApp, huge moon face from the front and tug boat arse.
Took photos of myself in my undies last night and put them in a folder along with the weekend pics and named it Transform '26, and currently filled with disgust at myself and determination that I'll sort myself out.
@TheRealHousewife thanks for sharing your menus, I'm going to use some of them myself.

CherryogDog · 05/05/2026 09:49

@TheWayTheLightFalls would you please share the link for the meals you buy?
I eat a lot of ready meals because I have bad hands and meal prepping can be difficult for me at times.

JustOneMoreMargarita · 05/05/2026 10:10

@CherryogDog - I’m a daily weigher too. I feel like I can see it a bit more objectively doing it like that. As long as the overall trend is down it helps me to understand that some of the ‘gains’ are just natural fluctuations.

today’s meals
B - Greek yogurt, sprinkling of granola (weighed), raspberries
L - Big mixed salad, air-fried piri piri chicken, feta
D - Pork tenderloin in honey garlic sauce, sweet potato wedges, broccoli, peas

Aiming to drink lots of water and 15K steps. Was only a small ‘gain’ over the weekend so still hopeful of a loss this week

TheGirlWhoLived · 05/05/2026 11:59

Thanks all! @JustOneMoreMargarita and @CherryogDog i too am a daily weigher, I try not to put too much in store by it (particularly if it’s a gain) but it does affect my outlook for the day!

Feeling in a much better vibe today, although annoyingly now dd2 has the sickness bug 😆 only dh and dd1 to go! Got 6000 steps in on the morning school run, and have work later so that’ll be some more steps.

Meal plan not as exciting
Huel Black label - iced latte flavour
Southern Fried Chicken salad
Mixed Berries, gut booster seeds and protein pudding
Huel Black Label - strawberry banana flavour

really want to up my water and NEED to take my supplements because I’ve been a lazy girl.

what Does everyone else take?

PipkinOfPepper · 05/05/2026 13:31

@TheGirlWhoLived I’m trying to take the expensive zooki collagen gels I bought but they make me gag so I’m very inconsistent!

TheWayTheLightFalls · 05/05/2026 13:42

I eat a lot of ready meals because I have bad hands and meal prepping can be difficult for me at times.

I use Simmer but there are a lot of "healthy ready meal" type providers if you google - I tried a bunch and liked these ones the best. Say if you want a discount code for them, there'll be one in my account I think.

It's great to weigh daily (I was the same through active weight loss) and you sound super motivated, but I hope you can also be kinder in how you talk about yourself. You deserve to treat your body well and talk about yourself with love and kindness on this journey Flowers

Pasta4Dinner · 05/05/2026 15:05

I daily weigh but that’s because I use Happy Scale which shows trends etc.
I am 80kg exactly today, so frustrating.

SeekingHappinesss · 05/05/2026 15:22

I'm also a daily weigher. I much prefer to even out the fluctuations.

I always feel cold when dieting. I have poor circulation anyway. Does anyone have any tips on how to deal with it?

@SeekingHappinesss I sometimes feel cold and at those times I tend to reach for a hot drink like a black coffee or hibiscus tea👍. Also if able move a bit more, that aids circulation. If working just a few stair climes or squats would help.

@SeekingHappinesss Have you had vitimin levels and thyroid checked? I was always cold till I sorted out my thyroid and multiple deficiencies (I had a load - Vit B12, folate, D and Iron)

Rosetime · 05/05/2026 21:45

A bit of a rough day today. Did not want to move much. Managed to get in 900 kcals. 6951 steps.

I feel cold when dieting too. But once i start incorporating workouts into my routine, it gets better.
I weigh weekly... i have been trying to go to two weekly but i am not there mentally yet. I need to know that i am making progress!

TheGirlWhoLived · 05/05/2026 23:53

Oh that’s disappointing @PipkinOfPepper i really wanted to try them, but getting through my bulk order of nutrition geeks collagen first 🤦🏼‍♀️ are there any flavours less gag-worthy?

Hlglu56 · 06/05/2026 06:33

current weight: 11st 2
up 1lb (I put my my weight down wrong on my last post, I was 155lb so 11st 1 not 11st 5)

start weight: 11st 7
goal weight: 10st

I’m not surprised. It’s that time of the month and I feel very bloated. I also had a bad weekend involving alcohol, curry and pizza. I know my weight is going to go up and down depending on my cycle but I really need to rein it in at the weekend. I did track my calories and it was a shock how many id actually eaten. I’m going away this weekend but my sister is very supportive so I’m hoping she will help me stay on track.

mermadeincornwall · 06/05/2026 07:15

Thank you for the wonderful new May thread @TheRealHousewife, loving the graphics and introduction as much as ever.

11st 1.5 lbs today.

Really pleased and surprised as I've been on holiday with eating routine completely changed.
I'm determined to get under 11st this week, just hoping the holiday calories don't catch up with me in the next few days.

Happy WOW everyone

TheWayTheLightFalls · 06/05/2026 07:35

Morning! Forgot to weigh this morning as I hared out the door to work, argh. Never mind. The last two days have been fine - it ended up being two healthy meals on Mon and OMAD yesterday, but I think it shook out ok.

Good luck wowers!

moondip · 06/05/2026 08:06

Good morning 💕
I think 🙏 I’m slowly getting back on the wagon after a shocking April. I’m being stricter with what I buy in and making a separate food diary to run along side NutraCheck where I just jot down meals for the entire week and swap them if I really don’t fancy something that day. I’m trying to get out of the habit of doing frequent food shops that just let me give into cravings.

SW: 102.1kg
CW: 89.7kg
GW: 80kg

I hope I am nearer to 89.5 or even possibly 89 next WoW 🙏

ScarletMane · 06/05/2026 08:09
