⭐️OPEN TO ALL⭐️ Weight Loss, Wellbeing & Motivation Thread To Support Healthy Habits.

Following on from ⭐️LOSE IT! Active April 2026⭐️

I blinked and missed April 🙃. Apologies for my absence; the month passed by so quickly! I’m feeling a little bit more human and absolutely doing my best to move more and eat well.

Jumping into May LOSE IT! - To reach optimum health and vitality (as well as a trim body) we need to focus not only on our food intake; but movement, our mental health and sleep quality too!

Who doesn’t want to feel good and energetic as well looking great!

Get on board to reset & refresh and become a healthier version of yourself.

These threads are for those who’d like to lose weight and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We have a WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable) that’s based on several sensible principles including:-

  1. Eat a variety of real whole foods such as fresh vegetables, salad, berries, beans, nuts, eggs, lean meat, good fats etc.
  2. Reduce sugars, simple carbs, alcohol and UPFs.
  3. Plan your meals & log your intake. Also be mindful of portion control.
  4. Intermittent fasting - research suggests (Zoe study) that adhering to an eating window of 10 hours can have a positive effect on health, wellbeing and weight loss. I personally have a eating window of approximately 7hrs - 12:00 - 19:00.
  5. Stay hydrated! 💧
  6. Move as much as able. Particularly strength based exercise. Muscle keeps you strong as well as revs up your metabolism.
  7. Get the fibre in! Great for your gut biome as well as 💩
  8. SLEEP! Good sleep hygiene and a regularly sleep routine can be beneficial to weight loss. I’m always more hungry following poor sleep.
  9. Be mindful about your own mental wellbeing and try not to eat your feelings. We’ve all been there!
  10. Be kind to yourself! ❤️ One or two slip ups won’t undo all your previous efforts. Just check-in with yourself, reinforce your good intentions and carry on.

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost over 3 stone.
After having been on the wrong side of 12st Im now hovering around 9st 3lbs.

Are you in?😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

Any recipes/workouts that have worked for you, you’d like to share?

Spot on @TheRealHousewife it's about building habits over time and getting back on track when things go wrong (or at least that's what I'm telling myself too - definitely not perfect)

As an experiment after the delicious Chinese take away, I was up a whopping 1.3kg this morning! I know I haven't eaten that much, so left overs for lunch and getting on with things.

Rosetime · 02/05/2026 22:23

@TheRealHousewife , thank-you for your lovely post. Yes, like you said, i did get to realise that i like the dopamine hit of a new challenge and I get bored when it's no longer challenging.
The problem with this was, with the end of each diet or a fitness streak, i get bigger than i was previously. I have always set realistic goals and haven't been strict but I don't stay consistent. I want it to be different this time. It's important. I am getting older and I do not not want to be old & unhealthy. That terrifies me.

@JustOneMoreMargarita , yes, i can't bear to start C5K again but i am gradually having little runs when i feel like it. I am not pushing myself with it. Thank-you @SeekingHappinesss , it does seem like a really supportive group. I followed the April thread aka lurked. I am a bit of an introvert but will try to post here as much as I can.
Today, i did some gardening for 4 hours - repotting, planting, weeding, fertilizing, deadheading, trimming, carrying stuff, watering plants (i don't have an outside tap). Really good for the soul. Outside, freash air, the radio playing..it was lovely.
Then went for an outing to Ikea (little one's idea), many regrets!😂
Total calories today 1399kcal of which 120g was protein. 12629 steps.
No workouts today. I did one yesterday.

FiveShelties · 03/05/2026 03:16

Please can I join you all please? I have lost and regained the same few pounds so many times this year.

I lost my dog on 22nd April and have done nothing but eat silly stuff, drunk far too much alcohol and not done my usual walks. My dog had been gradually slowing down over the past two months, so we had been doing shorter and shorter walks, leaving me with more time to sit and drink wine!

Weight this morning was 10st 11lbs and my jeans are very tight, well the ones I can fasten that is. I want to get back under 10st but aiming for 10st 4lbs first, so that gives me 7lbs to go initially. I have a Ball to attend in 3 weeks, so would love to have lost a few pounds by then.

SeekingHappinesss · 03/05/2026 11:19

I'm sorry to hear about your dog @FiveShelties

I've woken up feeling far more positive today. I did my first C25K run/walk which went well. I only burned 200cals which is crazy because I could eat that in biscuits in under a minute!

CherryogDog · 03/05/2026 11:47

@FiveShelties sorry to hear about your dog 💐

ChunkyMonkey36 · 03/05/2026 11:56

It’s water weight Sunday 😂🎉

1lb up this morning, I check daily so I can see my low point and average over the week.

That 1lb is a “date day” in the sun with my partner yesterday, with coffee, half a sausage roll, pizza and halloumi. Had a day off and didn’t track a single thing.

I’m going to let myself off, we haven’t had a day just the two of us in about 3 months, and I’ve got no other “off days” planned in the immediate future!

ChunkyMonkey36 · 03/05/2026 11:57

@FiveShelties so sorry to hear about your dog, they really are family. 💐

FiveShelties · 03/05/2026 12:03

Thank you so much for your kind words. She was almost 14 and I miss her so much.💔

Rosetime · 03/05/2026 12:30

@FiveShelties , so sorry to hear about your dog. They take a big chunk of our hearts with them.💐

TheRealHousewife · 03/05/2026 15:03

Brrrrrr it’s freezing my twins off 🥶 Got the fire on 🔥

@SeekingHappinesss that must be so useful having some gym equipment at home 👌Congratulations on your run. Also you show restraint if it takes you nearly a minute to inhale 200 cals in biscuits … my other half can beat that score hands down 😅

@FridayNighFeeling It’s amazing how we can gain more weight than what we eat. I think the sodium encourages us to hold on to fluids. You’re right in taking no notice as a couple of days of lighter eating will soon see it whoosh away.

@Rosetime You're welcome; I too worry about getting older and unhealthy. It’s best to bank some health whilst we can. It isn’t just about weight loss, the numbers matter too (blood pressure, blood sugars, HRV etc)x

Welcome back @FiveShelties So sorry to read you’ve lost one of your beloved pets. It’s heartbreaking and it’s like losing one of the family 💔

@ChunkyMonkey36 Sounds like a fun time! You need those Date Days more than you need to see a drop on the scale. It’s good for the soul 🥰

Menu
Meal 1 - Haddock, scrambled egg, cherry tomatoes & gf seeded bread. Greek yoghurt, strawberries & kefir.

Meal 2 - Big fat salad - undecided on main item as yet.
Drinks - Tea, black coffee, hibiscus tea and water.

I’m not having a good day…. Ds came down with a sickness bug and was up all night, he’s just woken from a three hour nap for the first time in 3 years (he’s 5!) and during that time I’ve eaten

Two small bags of kettle chips
FOUR finest scones with butter and jam
a tomato and mozzarella panini
a matcha vanilla ube latte
three mini pasties
a cheesestring
three rice cakes with chocolate on
a handful of mozzarella pearls
a a handful of olives
a handful of almonds
an orange.

😬🐷
I just kept wandering past the kitchen! On the upside I won’t have to bother making myself dinner, but I don’t even want to think about the calories

TheGirlWhoLived · 03/05/2026 16:04

@FiveShelties sorry to hear about your dog- it’s only been two weeks so make sure you are kind to yourself too. Maybe try walking different routes or doing something different like an exercise routine?

I’ve just taken my supplements to help me feel a bit less guilty about my mega munch. Going to write a meal plan later, I need to get back on 2x Huel and then one 600-800 meal. Three weeks Monday until my holiday and I want to be under 15 stone by then

FiveShelties · 03/05/2026 23:09

Thank you all for your kind words and apologies for depressing the thread so soon after starting😁

I started yesterday, instead of waiting until Monday and eating everything in sight on Sunday. Have a great week everyone.

Rosetime · 03/05/2026 23:20

@TheGirlWhoLived , hope your little one is feeling better. Sorry, about your mega munch though they are all quite yummy (ah..the scones). Where you stressed? Having our little ones be quite poorly can be stressful. Tomorrow is another day.

@TheRealHousewife , where were you that was freezing this morning? It was quite sunny and quite warm this morning (SW London). Now we have started having warmer days i dread the occasional cold day. Hope you had a good day.

Today, 13,614 steps and one very good workout session. Total calories just under 12000. A good day.

TheWayTheLightFalls · 04/05/2026 06:39

Morning, signing in for bank holiday OMAD! I have a stash of healthy ready meals that was delivered yesterday, so likely one of those plus a yoghurt and biscuit or two. And all the coffee. Let’s see.

TheGirlWhoLived · 04/05/2026 07:55

@Rosetime i think mostly just exhausted and my body tried to fuel up on sugar/calories to override the lack of sleep! I think a nap would have been a better option. Seems like I’ve caught it this morning. Bad for bank holiday plans, good for weight loss!
Good steps in! Although calorie deficit of under 12000 is very generous, even I hit that yesterday 😀

@TheWayTheLightFalls that sounds good, are they just low calorie or the unprocessed ready meals? They’re really handy for a quick grab!

@TheRealHousewife your daily meal plans are really useful! Giving lots of inspiration, I’m doing the online food shop once I stop puking 👌🏼

Unprocessed ready meals (and you can specify higher protein etc). I went through a phase of getting them every week but it was a bit much / samey / expensive - so I’m settled on six meals every other week at the moment.

ScarletMane · 04/05/2026 09:13

Hi everyone, I would love to join in here please! I gained a lot of weight post baby. I've managed to shift 1.5 stone over 9 months but have stalled a bit and would love to be part of a group to keep the motivation going! Thanks for creating a space for that @TheRealHousewife. Looking to lose another stone at least xx

Rosetime · 04/05/2026 09:51

Welcome, @ScarletMane . I just joined myself.
@TheGirlWhoLived , wishing you a better day today and hope your little one is better.

I have woken up to it being grey here. And i feel cold. Very cold and miserable. My period sneaked in last night and a migraine that's been brewing for two days is going hell bent for leather in my head. I just want to curl up and dissappear but I promised little one that we will go to The Village Day. 😩Why did I promise?
Healthy breakfast of eggs this morning.
I will scale back on my targets today. If i do make it to Village day, it will be a successful day.

Pasta4Dinner · 04/05/2026 13:06

Weight up yesterday and back down today. Going for 2 walks today. The trainers I normally wear are getting increasingly loose and I think I’ve lost weight from my feet.
As always fingers crossed I get under 80kg tomorrow.

Hlglu56 · 04/05/2026 16:08

I’m joining. Have lost a couple of pounds the last couple of weeks by calorie counting but I’ve been drinking too much at weekend and need to keep on track at the weekend. There’s over 300 calories in a bottle of fruit cider! My favourite summer drink.

Weight: 11st 5
Goal: 10st

plan:
1550 calories a day (tracking on Nutracheck)
3x strength workouts
100g protein
30g fibre
10000 steps a day

LemonDrizzle23 · 04/05/2026 21:24

Well I have been wildly off plan this weekend. Meals have been good, but ive definitely fallen a bit face first into chocolate and ice creams. I think the first week of sunshine / summer bank hol this year confused me 😂

Back on it tomorrow!

ScarletMane · 04/05/2026 21:36

I'm with you @LemonDrizzle23I am just moving the start date to tomorrow at this point!

JustOneMoreMargarita · 04/05/2026 21:46

Mixed weekend here. Lots of steps but not the healthiest choices in terms of food. But hopefully I can just draw a line and move forward from tomorrow.
