⭐️OPEN TO ALL⭐️ Weight Loss, Wellbeing & Motivation Thread To Support Healthy Habits.

Following on from ⭐️LOSE IT! Active April 2026⭐️

I blinked and missed April 🙃. Apologies for my absence; the month passed by so quickly! I’m feeling a little bit more human and absolutely doing my best to move more and eat well.

Jumping into May LOSE IT! - To reach optimum health and vitality (as well as a trim body) we need to focus not only on our food intake; but movement, our mental health and sleep quality too!

Who doesn’t want to feel good and energetic as well looking great!

Get on board to reset & refresh and become a healthier version of yourself.

These threads are for those who’d like to lose weight and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We have a WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable) that’s based on several sensible principles including:-

  1. Eat a variety of real whole foods such as fresh vegetables, salad, berries, beans, nuts, eggs, lean meat, good fats etc.
  2. Reduce sugars, simple carbs, alcohol and UPFs.
  3. Plan your meals & log your intake. Also be mindful of portion control.
  4. Intermittent fasting - research suggests (Zoe study) that adhering to an eating window of 10 hours can have a positive effect on health, wellbeing and weight loss. I personally have a eating window of approximately 7hrs - 12:00 - 19:00.
  5. Stay hydrated! 💧
  6. Move as much as able. Particularly strength based exercise. Muscle keeps you strong as well as revs up your metabolism.
  7. Get the fibre in! Great for your gut biome as well as 💩
  8. SLEEP! Good sleep hygiene and a regularly sleep routine can be beneficial to weight loss. I’m always more hungry following poor sleep.
  9. Be mindful about your own mental wellbeing and try not to eat your feelings. We’ve all been there!
  10. Be kind to yourself! ❤️ One or two slip ups won’t undo all your previous efforts. Just check-in with yourself, reinforce your good intentions and carry on.

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost over 3 stone.
After having been on the wrong side of 12st Im now hovering around 9st 3lbs.

Are you in?😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

Any recipes/workouts that have worked for you, you’d like to share?

Morning all, back to read properly later, but -27 1/4lbs today whoohoo. Hoping that I can see 2 stone before half term as we're away celebrating a big birthday so likely to indulge.

Good luck to all

PipkinOfPepper · 06/05/2026 08:32

TheGirlWhoLived · 05/05/2026 23:53

Oh that’s disappointing @PipkinOfPepper i really wanted to try them, but getting through my bulk order of nutrition geeks collagen first 🤦🏼‍♀️ are there any flavours less gag-worthy?

I'm not sure - I've only tried the cherry flavour, but something about the combination of the thick gloopy (almost oily?) texture and the strong taste just makes me retch. So annoying as I bought two boxes as they were slightly cheaper that way! If I can remember I try to take them just before brushing my teeth at night, or otherwise with a big glass of very lemony water, to try and immediately wash the taste / residue away. Gross.

Pasta4Dinner · 06/05/2026 08:35

SW: 89kg
CW: 80kg
GW: around 70kg

leg day in the gym yesterday so surprised I didn’t managed to get my weight under 80kg, legs are sore today too. We’re eating something crappy for dinner so don’t expect it tomorrow either.

PipkinOfPepper · 06/05/2026 08:36

Wednesday weigh-in:

SW: 111.05kg (January)
CW: 97.35kg
GW: 78-80kg

Happy to see a slow and steady loss over the past few weeks. I'd love to see a 96 on the scale next week but who knows!

JustOneMoreMargarita · 06/05/2026 08:42

Good morning!

start weight (6th April) - 102.6kg
current weight - 99.6kg
goal weight - 80kg

Happy with 3kg off in a month especially as I’ve had a few night’s out (and scoffed all my Easter eggs) in that time. If I can do the same this month I’ll feel like I’m making progress.

Already been out for a run this morning and got my 5K PB for the year. Just over 34 minutes so slow but improving (my actual PB is 28:40 but that was a younger, slimmer version of me)

SeekingHappinesss · 06/05/2026 08:55

@TheRealHousewife and @ScarletMane I do enjoy a cup of green tea, I shall have to try a few different types. I should definitely get up and move around, easier when the weather is nice, not so much when its miserable like today!

@FridayNighFeeling did you just go to your GP and ask to have them checked? I think its normal for me because it happens everytime I diet. But I did recently stop BFing after 2 years and I wasn't great at taking my vitamins. So I guess I could be deficient in a few things.

Fellsbells · 06/05/2026 08:57

Morning wowers. Managed to get 2 lb of water weight off since yesterday. Just got to keep at it now.

SeekingHappinesss · 06/05/2026 09:02

I weigh myself daily but will take part in the WOW if thats okay. From last Wednesday I'm down 3.6lbs. So I've lost a total of 9.6lbs but you really can't tell yet. And the scale app says my body fat is still in the obese category. I wish I had taken some waist and hip measurements at the start now!

Well done to everyone else!

SW 170lbs
CW 160.4lbs
GW 135 lbs.

Crollaspita · 06/05/2026 09:10

I’m a daily weigh-er too and especially as a woman weight can jump about for all kinds of reasons. So seeing the every day fluctuations helps me not to get crazy or complacent either way over a pound or two weight loss or gain.

I just register the results on my smartphone app and look at the overall trend rather than fixate on one day.

That all being said - today’s weight is 64.5kg which is the lowest I’ve been for a few weeks 🎉

According to my body analysis scales app my body water percentage is up too and my body fat % is down. It’s telling me I need more calcium 🤔 I don’t drink milk so there’s that.

It’s my birthday in a month and I’d like to be down to 62kg (9 stone 11) by then which will put me just within a healthy BMI.

Woke up at 6am for some reason and couldn’t back to sleep. Was tempted to eat some dark chocolate but instead I did some laundry and sorted some clutter out. Now about to head to the post office and dispose of some rubbish on the way.

LemonDrizzle23 · 06/05/2026 09:45

Completely missed WOW today - the bank holiday has thrown me! Will weigh in tomorrow instead.

Well done everyone who’s sticking with it. We will all feel a bit lighter and more comfortable by the time the weather warms up this summer!

TheGirlWhoLived · 06/05/2026 10:50

Congrats all Wow-ers! I lost an astonishing 4lb this week after s-t-s last week which is a great booster after the bank holiday! 2.5 weeks until holiday and confident I’ll get under the 15st

SW- 16st 7
CW- 15st 2
GW- 10st

still a long way to go, but happy am well on the way

ChunkyMonkey36 · 06/05/2026 11:18

Just the 1lb off this week, managed 3 last week but that’ll be my off plan weekend catching up with me 😂

That 1lb does put me in the 15st bracket though, so it’ll do!

CW: 101.2kg (15st 13lbs)
SW: 106.1kg (16st 10lbs)
Total lost - 4.99kg (11lbs)

FridayNighFeeling · 06/05/2026 12:03

@SeekingHappinesss I had other symptoms, mainly horrible exhaustion, hair loss etc but it's worth checking especially as you were feeding. TBH I found the GP useless and did a lot of reading on my own and some private testing too.

CinnamonSweet73 · 06/05/2026 13:00

Well done everyone!

Down 0.4kg from last week, happy with that as I was out for a meal at weekend.
Im a daily weigher too and the scales shot up a kg after the meal and stayed up for 2 days but dropped back then!

@FridayNighFeeling that's brilliant, well done!

Crollaspita · 06/05/2026 21:19

FridayNighFeeling · 05/05/2026 18:30

@SeekingHappinesss Have you had vitimin levels and thyroid checked? I was always cold till I sorted out my thyroid and multiple deficiencies (I had a load - Vit B12, folate, D and Iron)

Yep, I was having very heavy periods and was extremely iron deficient. It was only picked up that I was actually anemic when I fell very ill on holiday last year while I was on my period and went to a&e. The. doctors abroad ran tests on me. When I got back to England I insisted they also check thyroid, B12 etc too and that all was fine
except my iron was obviously still low.

For anyone taking blood tests, If they tell you your results are normal ask them to give you specific figures and take a note. I had a bunch of blood tests done about a decade ago and they told me my iron was “slightly low” but not anemic.

I wonder what the “slightly low” iron was all
those years ago. Wish I’d asked and went for follow up blood tests and compared readings every year or so.

I am still dealing with the anaemia and taking daily iron.

And to add yeah I’ve always been cold. I thought it was just me but now I see a lot of it was probably to do with low iron.

My previously strong and thick hair and nails started breaking over the last year or so too, to the extent my hairdresser commented on the former.

Fellsbells · 07/05/2026 06:57

@Crollaspita if you log into the nhs app you can see all your actual results. If you’re lucky it will go back quite a while.

Yesterday was hard being back in a calorie deficit. The sugar withdrawal hit me and I felt awful. Hopefully today will be better.

LemonDrizzle23 · 07/05/2026 06:59

My late WOW - was a stay the same this week, which is realistic after my weekend of all the chocolate and ice cream.

DS has woken up full of cold and sniffles and feeling sorry for himself. Can’t wait for that to spread round the house 😂

Crollaspita · 07/05/2026 07:37

Ooh I’ll have a look!

It’s not easy breaking up with sugar - I find having a little fruit helps. Last night i had plain Greek yoghurt and warmed frozen blueberries with a teaspoon of coconut sugar. Next time I’ll try it without the added sugar.

CherryogDog · 07/05/2026 10:18

I'm late posting my WOW.
Pleased to say I'm down from Tuesday's 70.6kg to 68.6 kg.
I'm back to my normal eating and walking patterns. But would that kilo just be water weight?

JustOneMoreMargarita · 07/05/2026 10:22

@CherryogDog - could absolutely still be water weight. I tend to drop it over 3-4 days after a heavier weekend.

@Fellsbells - I hate the way I feel when I’m in the early days of cutting back on sugar. I just crave it so much, whereas when I’m not actively trying to avoid it I can sometimes not even think about it.

Trying not to snack in the office today here - I always find that hard but I’m finally starting to feel some positive effects a month into re-starting so that is motivating me.

ScarletMane · 07/05/2026 11:19

@JustOneMoreMargaritaI'm with you in office snack avoidance today! I felt really hungry mid morning and had a pear which was delicious. Trying to reach for the fruit over whatever sugary treat is on the counter in the kitchen xx

SeekingHappinesss · 07/05/2026 11:25

I ended my fast early yesterday. I had a little spotting and cramping and just wasn't feeling it. I was a little up on the scales this morning but felt far more motivated. Managed to fit in a run/walk too.

TheGirlWhoLived · 07/05/2026 11:47

@LemonDrizzle23 sending strength for a snotty household! We’ve just finished the last of a sickness bug so we will have a weeks respite before the next illness!

I was exemplary yesterday, under calories, did an hours swim which burnt about 800cals apparently, a 2 hour walk which burnt 500 and ate 8 portions of fruit and veg. Took all my supplements and vitamins and went to bed at 10pm.

This morning I gained 3 BLOODY POUNDS 😡

Today I’ve had 3 packs of monster munch and an apple. Going to pull it back towards dinner after the Waitrose shop is delivered. Luckily I ordered when I had not gained magically 3lb overnight and is full of healthy snacks

ChunkyMonkey36 · 07/05/2026 12:06

@TheGirlWhoLived

I gained 3lbs overnight yesterday, must be something in the water! I’d tracked everything, carefully counted and measured.

Went to bed Tuesday 15st 10lbs and woke up Wednesday 15st 13lbs.

Joke. Our bodies are a joke. Mine holds water like it’s 0.2 seconds away from dehydration, keeps it for a few days and then the scales plummet. I get one good weigh day, and the rest of the week my body is apparently holding a swimming pool worth of liquid.

That also be inflammation from your super active day yesterday!

TheGirlWhoLived · 07/05/2026 12:10

Maybe is assumes that being the wrong side of 15st makes us camels @ChunkyMonkey36 im desperately trying to cling on to the fact that it isn’t real weight, but it’s just so demoralising 🤦🏼‍♀️
quite interested in what tomorrow brings 🤣
