⭐️OPEN TO ALL⭐️ Weight Loss, Wellbeing & Motivation Thread To Support Healthy Habits.

Following on from ⭐️LOSE IT! Active April 2026⭐️

I blinked and missed April 🙃. Apologies for my absence; the month passed by so quickly! I’m feeling a little bit more human and absolutely doing my best to move more and eat well.

Jumping into May LOSE IT! - To reach optimum health and vitality (as well as a trim body) we need to focus not only on our food intake; but movement, our mental health and sleep quality too!

Who doesn’t want to feel good and energetic as well looking great!

Get on board to reset & refresh and become a healthier version of yourself.

These threads are for those who’d like to lose weight and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We have a WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable) that’s based on several sensible principles including:-

  1. Eat a variety of real whole foods such as fresh vegetables, salad, berries, beans, nuts, eggs, lean meat, good fats etc.
  2. Reduce sugars, simple carbs, alcohol and UPFs.
  3. Plan your meals & log your intake. Also be mindful of portion control.
  4. Intermittent fasting - research suggests (Zoe study) that adhering to an eating window of 10 hours can have a positive effect on health, wellbeing and weight loss. I personally have a eating window of approximately 7hrs - 12:00 - 19:00.
  5. Stay hydrated! 💧
  6. Move as much as able. Particularly strength based exercise. Muscle keeps you strong as well as revs up your metabolism.
  7. Get the fibre in! Great for your gut biome as well as 💩
  8. SLEEP! Good sleep hygiene and a regularly sleep routine can be beneficial to weight loss. I’m always more hungry following poor sleep.
  9. Be mindful about your own mental wellbeing and try not to eat your feelings. We’ve all been there!
  10. Be kind to yourself! ❤️ One or two slip ups won’t undo all your previous efforts. Just check-in with yourself, reinforce your good intentions and carry on.

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost over 3 stone.
After having been on the wrong side of 12st Im now hovering around 9st 3lbs.

Are you in?😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

Any recipes/workouts that have worked for you, you’d like to share?

@TheGirlWhoLived

I am a daily weigher, so I actually get to see my low point.

I've started believing it on the day it says I’ve lost weight, and deciding the scales are full of shit on the days it doesn’t 😂.

@LemonDrizzle23 sending strength for a snotty household! We’ve just finished the last of a sickness bug so we will have a weeks respite before the next illness!

I was exemplary yesterday, under calories, did an hours swim which burnt about 800cals apparently, a 2 hour walk which burnt 500 and ate 8 portions of fruit and veg. Took all my supplements and vitamins and went to bed at 10pm.

This morning I gained 3 BLOODY POUNDS 😡

Today I’ve had 3 packs of monster munch and an apple. Going to pull it back towards dinner after the Waitrose shop is delivered. Luckily I ordered when I had not gained magically 3lb overnight and is full of healthy snacks

I've just been reading about how gaining 1-3lbs of water weight after exercise is really common! It does seem rather unfair. Monster munch is an epic snack!

Gaining Weight After Working Out? Here’s Why

You’re a month into a new workout program and realize that you’re GAINING weight. How can that happen? As it turns out, there’s a good reason, as our physical therapist explains.

Bodies do weird things and that's why you just need to keep going and look at the overall trend guys, don't give up hope!

Yes you should be able to see results online NHS app... don't trust the doctors they seem to know nothing! EG feriting should be 100 for goo thyroid health not the 30 that's considered normal...

FridayNighFeeling · 07/05/2026 19:27

For the sake of honesty there was a binge incident here this evening... FFS, whole week on plan - crisps and not one but 2 Twix bars Blush anyway onwards and upwards.

Fellsbells · 07/05/2026 19:38

Water weight is so annoying the only good thing is it usually goes off as quickly as it comes on. I can almost see my puffy face shrinking when I’ve laid off the salt and carbs for 24hrs.

Just finished a bowl of strawberries and a tiny scoop of icecream and I’m done for the day, spot on calories.

Weightloss is annoyingly all consuming. I think about it almost all day. I’ve started going to bed really early just so I don’t eat anything.

TheGirlWhoLived · 07/05/2026 19:40

@FridayNighFeeling snaccidents happen. But let the guilt you feel now drive you to make better choices next time 😁
I’m wavering, I’ll be honest. I think I’m better off allowing myself an extra 500 calories - so it’s a maintenance day rather than a loss- that I can burn off in the gym tomorrow than trying to resist everything and ending up eating the house

TheGirlWhoLived · 07/05/2026 21:09

Ended up only 100cal over ‘budget’ which I’m really happy about. If I go up another 3lb tomorrow though, there will be mutiny!

Pasta4Dinner · 07/05/2026 21:12

Weight holding steady this morning. I’ve been to the gym and for a walk and honestly I am knackered. I have a class in the morning. We have a storm over the weekend and I am looking forward to staying in.

FridayNighFeeling · 07/05/2026 21:20

Yes I've tried to be kind to myself about it all. Hormones have a lot to answer for. Thanks @TheGirlWhoLived

Don't do so much you burn out @Pasta4Dinner

Totally all consuming @Fellsbells

TheGirlWhoLived · 08/05/2026 08:52

Lost 2 of my theoretically gained 3lb- it’s definitely reminded me to look at the trend rather than the individual! I’m quite proud that i didn’t just chuck in the towel and get a Chinese though!

Off to Costa later with a friend so will find some sort of tasty wrap or panini there, swimming this morning and I’m aiming to do 50 lengths again. Food is planned out

B-Huel Black label
L-Costa
D-Thai chicken salad with giant couscous, salad leaves, feta, heirloom tomatoes and cucumber moons. Might pop something else in there but unsure what yet, roasted peppers maybe?

FridayNighFeeling · 08/05/2026 12:37

It's definitely worth keeping going as best you can rather than going into *** it mode. Enjoy the Costa @TheGirlWhoLived

I think my ridiculous appetite last night has been explained: hormones. I'm always ravenous before my period shows up and after a 81 day cycle last time, seems this one is 26 days - you couldn't make it up, but hopefully it will settle as it always does so I can crack on.

biscuitcat · 08/05/2026 13:47

Oh my goodness I’ve been MIA for a couple of weeks now - I went ahead and gained a few pounds which are nearly off and have been feeling exceptionally frustrated with myself. I was hoping to be in the 11s by March and then April, and now May - and actually a few months ago was even hoping to be in the 10s by May… wishful thinking that turned out to be!! My 1 year anniversary of joining these threads is the start of June and my goodness I WILL be in the 11s then if it half kills me. That’s 2lbs away so shouldn’t be a problem - but I’ve been saying that for weeks 😩

I’ve not caught up with the thread because I’m so behind - maybe tonight when I’m awake feeding the baby that can be my entertainment.

Today’s menu is:

B - Greek yoghurt, strawberries, seeds, honey
L - tomatoes with Boursin and crusty bread
D - chicken skewers with salad and flatbreads

(plus a couple of chocolates at my hairdressers appointment this morning!)

Pasta4Dinner · 08/05/2026 13:54

@FridayNighFeelingless tired today. I think it was just the bonus walk tipped me over.

Been to an exercise class this morning and I feel good. Weight still at 80kg exactly.

Fellsbells · 08/05/2026 17:21

@biscuitcat good luck, you can definitely achieve your goal. This whole weight loss thing isn’t linear. Especially as we’re women and most of us live in the UK. PMT week in February is a different kettle of fish to ovulating in May. Chuck work and family into the mix and it’s a miracle we’re managing to lose anything.

I’ve finished eating for the day and it’s only 5pm. Another early night is on the cards if I want to avoid a snaccident.

B-egg on toast
L- salmon salad and Greek yogurt
D- rice chilli and flat bread.

I’ve lost nearly 4lbs since Tuesday so something good is happening even if it’s nearly all water. I’m being really strict with myself until I get back to where I was. Then hopefully keep going.

TheGirlWhoLived · 08/05/2026 19:58

4lbs is great fells! Any loss is good, I might try and not do daily weigh in for the next week after WoW and see if it makes my mentality any stronger!

FridayNighFeeling · 08/05/2026 20:16

You've got a lot on your plate @biscuitcat with baby, return to work and DH who is often away if I remember correctly? June will also be my 1 year anniversary of posting here...

Pasta4Dinner · 09/05/2026 08:48

Finally under 80kg, I’m 79.9kg. Been trying all year.
My next Happy Scale target is 79.5kg which I bet takes ages.

would like to get a walk in today but weather is pretty dreary.

ChunkyMonkey36 · 09/05/2026 08:57

I’m stuck at 15st 13lb and have been since Wednesday, think I’ve plateaued.

We’ve got a walk and swimming planned tomorrow, and I plan to get some treadmill time in on Monday and Tuesday.

Hoping some more movement shifts some of it!

CherryogDog · 09/05/2026 09:25

Pleased to say that I'm 69.2kg this morning, so still on a downward trend.
I went to Marks yesterday to buy a pair of lightweight trousers because currently I can't fit into last year's (which I bought because I couldn't fit in the previous year's 😥).
I cried a bit when I saw the Pilsbury dough boy looking at me in the mirror.

Annoyingly between sizes, 14 too big, 12 too small, so didn't buy anything.
I'd gone out at 1pm, my usual breakfast time, and pleased that I didn't console myself with a sweet treat, just finished my other shopping and ate at home.
Even though it was 4.30pm I didn't go all out Hungry Caterpillar.
Still not eating particularly healthy food, but sticking to "only eat when hungry, stop when full".

biscuitcat · 09/05/2026 12:51

Yes just right @FridayNighFeeling - and a useful reminder that it’s ok being kind to myself when it does go temporarily tits up!

Please be kind to yourself @CherryogDog - I’d bet good money that you look fab 💜

Today’s menu for me:

B - coffee at swimming lessons
L - bacon, eggs, handful of chips
D - spanakopita, butternut squash, feta and pomegranate salad
S - an ice cream out and about with the kids 😋

FridayNighFeeling · 09/05/2026 18:48

We could certainly all do with being kinder to ourselves. You wouldn't say anything like that to your best friend (or sometimes even worst enemy) so why do we say it to ourselves?

TheGirlWhoLived · 09/05/2026 19:32

Well done @Pasta4Dinner and @CherryogDog - good motivational losses there! I’ve had a planned off-plan afternoon, which has been nice, going to enjoy a couple of glasses of Prosecco and a delicious Chinese then back to the grindstone tomorrow!

PipkinOfPepper · 09/05/2026 19:45

@CherryogDog meanwhile I'm thrilled that I can now comfortably fit into a size 18 😉

If you continue you'll be in those 12's soon! It's nice to have a concrete goal to aim for.

CherryogDog · 10/05/2026 09:36

@PipkinOfPepper I've been much bigger, but hourglass with a small waist, and just sort of smoothly round.
About 10 years ago I needed major surgery and lost loads of weight so I was fitter for recovery.
Kept it off for about 6 years and then lost control.
Now the fat is distributed in rolls. And my boobs are huge.
I'm judging myself very harshly, I know.

SeekingHappinesss · 10/05/2026 09:45

After a few days of gaining I've had 2 days days of drops. And I'm now back to my Wednesday weight. Hopefully once my period ends a little more may come off?
