Following on from ☀️LOSE IT! May 2025☀️

⭐️OPEN TO ALL⭐️

Here comes summer!

It’s never too late to make a change, to make a difference and feel confident in your body.

To reach optimum health and vitality we need to focus not only on our food intake; but movement, mental health and sleep quality too!

Who doesn’t want to feel good and energetic as well looking great! Get on board to reset & refresh and become a healthier version of yourself.

These threads are for those who’d like to lose weight and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We generally have WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and generally eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost just around 45lbs. After having been on the wrong side of 12st, the last time I weighed I was hovering around 9st 2lbs. I would like to get back into the 8’s 🤞

Are you in😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

New members … Give it a go; it’s never too late! Come summer you’ll be pleased you did 😊

Beloved long timers it would be great for you to keep going❤️

Good luck to everyone WOWing tomorrow. Even if you think you have gained my advice is to weigh anyway. I always figure if it’s higher, after a period of not doing great, then the loss when it comes will be greater so it’s a bigger mental boost. You don’t have to share your weight, just note it for yourself, and as always I recommend the Happy Scale app to keep track of a hopefully downward trend. Blips don’t matter as long as the trend is down. Weight loss isn’t linear so there’ll be times when you gain a little, times when weight suddenly shifts, plateaux; but it’s the overall trend that matters with the numbers. The numbers are only part of it anyway, if you are making healthier changes and choices then that can only be a good thing. I like to think of it as a gift to myself to make myself healthier. It’s also a good boost mentally knowing that you are taking steps to be healthier. Try to think long term rather than oh shit it’s weigh day tomorrow and I’ve not been very mindful or consistent. Don’t worry, it doesn’t matter as long as you are making better choices for yourself. I recommend a multivitamin too. I’m useless at remembering but I’ve always found that taking them reduces cravings for certain foods. Worth a go anyway. We can do this.

Hi everyone, weighing in today!

164.5 lbs. That seems like a too sharp a drop from 168 last week, but I feel fine. I've been holding steady with my food intake. Predictable meals, balancing macros, weighing and counting calories.

SW: 173.6
CW: 164.5
GW: 130

Hope everyone has had a good week.

LegoTherapy · 18/06/2025 06:01

I did it! 8 at 13lb! I know it’s only water weight but it just goes to show how much water I’m holding on to to drop 3lbs since Monday.

well done @EasternEcho!

I hope everyone gets a good result today, but if not, keep going, you’ll get there.

TheWayTheLightFalls · 18/06/2025 06:09

WOW - 74.1kg, with a BMI of 23.4. I’m just shy of a kg under my goal weight, so broadly maintaining well. Happy! Good luck to others today.

Well done @LegoTherapy , well done @EasternEcho !

frostedshreddie · 18/06/2025 06:25

@LegoTherapy your msg last night was just what I needed to read this morning, thank you.

Last time I weighed was 2 weeks ago and in that time I have had my period and not been consistent at all. Barely any workouts, stopped counting calories. We had sports day recently and a photo was taken of me and my little one, lovely photo and nice memory but I just look so bloated and puffy in my face. Tbh that photo has given me a little kick up the butt to get back on it properly and remember to keep going. I have 4 weeks until a wedding event which was my original motivation and I know 4 weeks isn't long but hopefully I can make a difference and feel confident on the day in a nice dress.

So anyway I wowed today even though I knew it wouldn't be great. I am 1.6lb up.

SW: 10 st 8 lbs
CW: 10 st 5.4lbs
GW: 9 st 7 lbs

Well done everyone on your losses 😀

TealSloth · 18/06/2025 06:56

Hi everyone. I've hit another plateau. But am not giving up what weight i had loss it has come back on. Need my number to go down. Eating right going to gym. Need to keep my routine up and it will break. It could be due to me doing weights every day plus I do cardio too at home plus walking for 20 minutes.

socks1107 · 18/06/2025 07:18

I’ve hit a plateau too and have gone up again. I’m back in the 12s. I could seriously scream.
i wont make the holiday target, so I've now not lost 2 stone since Xmas, why is it so slow?!
and i head back into my sedentary job in ten days so im just like what’s the point.
ill never be the weight or size i want so why bother

LemonDrizzle23 · 18/06/2025 07:22

Morning WOW-ers. Wishing everyone good luck and well done for showing up!
bad week for me - grief rearing its ugly head, a stomach bug, and a number of random “little extras” every day, that added up across the week.

I was honest with my tracking, so I can see exactly what it was every day that got me!

Small gain of 1lb. Back on it as of today.

2in2022twoyearson · 18/06/2025 07:38

SW 72.3
GW 65
Today 72.5 😞
Nearly TOM so hopefully it will drop off this week.

Don't give up am still at it. When you hit a certain number your body starts playing up. That's what my does but keep at it and your weight will fall. And stick to right eating and plenty of work out

QueenMabby · 18/06/2025 08:01

After an over a week of plateau the scales are showing a 1.2lb drop! Very happy. I’m unlikely to hit my goal weight by the time I go on holiday, but I shall be close.

SW: 10st 0.2lb
CW: 9st 4.8lb
GW: 9st.

BlueOysterCultGroupie · 18/06/2025 08:31

Good morning all. I'm not going to share figures because it's shameful, but BMI firmly in obese Sad 20kg to drop. I wasn't too hungry last night, but I'm hangry this morning. Made a chia seed pudding with raspberries for breakfast - not tried it before, so will report back.

Good luck for the WoW'ers

Bickybics · 18/06/2025 08:36

My first week. 0.5kg off…

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 18/06/2025 08:39

A maintenance weight of around 10st 9lb for me. Expected, but annoyed with myself for not working harder to get to my holiday goal weight.

@BlueOysterCultGroupie you have nothing to be ashamed of. If it’s because some of the weights posted here seem so much lower than yours, remember we’re all at different stages. I weighed a lot more a few years back.

@socks1107 try not to be so despondent. Plateaus are a bugger. Re the sedentary job, can you get out for a lunchtime walk?

Well done to everyone reporting a loss today, and solidarity with those that didn’t!

TheRealHousewife · 18/06/2025 09:04

Good Morning & Happy WOW!

I only have 2 bruises left! Even though my food intake hasn’t changed overall I’ve gained 2lbs. I’ve put this down to taking a few painkillers over the past week. That said my thyroid is playing up (according to the gp and results of blood tests) which unfortunately can affect weight. Trying not to stress!

I need to catch up on our thread so for now I’ll say Congratulations to all of you who’ve lost and also those who might not have lost (or even gained) and are keeping accountable by posting 👏👍❤️

Menu
Meal 1 - Mushroon Omelette & side salad.
Meal 2 - Salmon tray bake. Strawberry jelly & cream.

Drinks - Tea, black coffee & water 💧

@socks1107 So sorry to read you’re so despondent 😭. You ask why bother? I say this with kindness:- We bother because if we didn’t we’d become more unhealthy, continue to increase in size and be even more unhappy. Don’t eat your feelings, work through them. Accept that healthy eating isn’t a destination, it’s a life long journey with peaks and troughs. It’s tough at times, especially if we don’t see the results we’d like. Overall you’ve done fantastic in losing 2 stones, congratulations 🥳👏👍

Well done everyone.

I’ve maintained, still sitting at 10st. My focus has been on exercise and I’ve not over thought what I’ve been eating. I’m not over eating which is the main thing. I’m feeling surprisingly balanced at the moment, mentally and physically. What a novelty!

TheRealHousewife · 18/06/2025 11:59

@BlueOysterCultGroupie Baby steps will get you there. I have chia seeds in Greek yoghurt. I mix the portion of yoghurt with about 10gm chia seeds. I loosen the whole lot up with a good splash of my soya milk (any milk will do or even water)I leave mine to soak for at least 1/2 hour or overnight. It will firm up again as the chia really take up any spare liquid. I make a few pots up as they are good for about 3 days in the fridge. You can add in cocoa and a bit of honey if chocolate is your thing.

Hi

That's what I did @TheRealHousewife and it was tasty! Thanks for the supportive message. I also have an underactive thyroid, but more under control since Christmas so can't use that as an excuse - well at least I assume all OK, might ask for some more bloods over the summer to double check - and multiple deficiencies too Hmm Hope that your weight comes back down next week.

I'm not calorie counting everything, but I'm keeping an eye on what's going in and looking at the calorie values of things that I'd have eaten mindlessly before. I reckon I've easily cut about 1000 calories a day by doing IF and cutting out the snacking in the evening and a hot chocolate at 7AM Blush BlushBlush Life has been very stressful but I can't go on lugging the weight of a preschooler on my back all day - no wonder my joints and back are complaining.

@WhatWouldTheDoctorDo thanks for the message, I know it's all relative, but this is 10kg over my previous heaviest which was bad enough and excuses need to stop. So first goal get out of the obese and into "just" overweight

Hope to get to that mentality @Fellsbells !

Amazing progress @WearyAuldWumman I'm a daily lurker in FWR so I know your name from there. 🙋

Edited for awful grammar

PatienceOfEngels · 18/06/2025 12:27

I love the supportive nature of this thread. Thank you for all your positive posts!

I'm still stuck (at 76kg) and trying not to get down about not losing. Not in a great moment in my cycle which is contributing. The heat is helping me eat a little less and drink more water. Doing a fair bit of walking (4.5km forest walk by myself before work or after school drop off the last 3 days) and hoping to keep it up.

I hate cooking in the heat so have been cycling our summer go-tos:
-wraps with cold chicken and salad or cream cheese and smoked salmon
-ploughman's tea with salad, cheese, ham and bread
-quiche with salad (made one this morning before it got hot)
-cold pasta salad with egg, tuna or bacon, veg etc.
-smoked mackerel with salad

Getting bored of it all though and feeling like I'm eating too many carbs.

On wind down from work now (even though we have 2.5 weeks to go till summer). managed to wangle WFH today (I'm a teacher and this never happens!) so am sitting in the shade, looking at the garden and listening to the world go by. Trying to plan what to do over the weekend with the kids when it's 30+ (we'll go mad if we're all at home, hiding in the shade).

FrothyCothy · 18/06/2025 12:39

Down a whopping 200g from last week 🤣 but I will take maintaining as work has been crazy and I’ve not been tracking calories accurately for the past 10 days or so. 10 more days of work-crazy and then back to normal - am missing not being able to get to the gym

WearyAuldWumman · 18/06/2025 13:53

Have just done my leg workout.

Have dental appointment this afternoon and gym class this evening.

Can’t manage tomorrow - hospital appointment. let Trying to keep up leg strength in case I have to stop working upper body for a while.

Leg curl, leg extension and leg press. Trying to strengthen my thigh muscles.

Have already put out two size 20 tops that are meant for someone two inches shorter than me. Have another bag of size 20 clothes ready for charity shop.

I still have a humongous stomach, but the rest of me looks ridiculous in those clothes, so they’re going out.

Still need a big 18 with a generous cut for the stomach.
