Following on from ☀️LOSE IT! May 2025☀️

⭐️OPEN TO ALL⭐️

Here comes summer!

It’s never too late to make a change, to make a difference and feel confident in your body.

To reach optimum health and vitality we need to focus not only on our food intake; but movement, mental health and sleep quality too!

Who doesn’t want to feel good and energetic as well looking great! Get on board to reset & refresh and become a healthier version of yourself.

These threads are for those who’d like to lose weight and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We generally have WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and generally eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost just around 45lbs. After having been on the wrong side of 12st, the last time I weighed I was hovering around 9st 2lbs. I would like to get back into the 8’s 🤞

Are you in😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

New members … Give it a go; it’s never too late! Come summer you’ll be pleased you did 😊

Beloved long timers it would be great for you to keep going❤️

Well done everyone on your losses!

I’m another 1.5lbs down this week, which feels good given that I wasn’t especially disciplined on the weekend.

We’re off on holiday on Saturday and the food where we’re going is meant to be spectacular so I’m hoping the progress I’ve made over the past couple of weeks isn’t undone. I’m going to aim to choose the veg and protein based foods to keep me from snacking, avoid drinking too much wine, and hope that the heat does a number on my appetite! But if I gain a little I won’t worry as I’ve been looking forward to this holiday, in large part because of the food, for months.

shufflestep · 18/06/2025 17:53

Can I join? I have been working on it via lots of walking and calorie counting since just after Christmas, when I was 83.7kg (only 165cm tall). My target is 65kg, and today I weighted in at 69.7kg - first time under 70 in I don't know how long!

I've found my fitbit really useful in giving me an idea of my calorie burn - so if I want to eat more I have to do more. Obviously not burning as much with the same levels of activity now I'm lighter, so the loss is slowing down. Unfortunately I did then let the side down with a celebratory Cornetto...

LegoTherapy · 18/06/2025 21:15

Welcome @shufflestep. I hope you find the thread a happy, supportive place to be.

I’m up on my carbs today because of a caramel Frappuccino and a brown sugar bubble tea but I chose halloumi fries instead of pizza for lunch. I ate 5 of DD’s chips but chose the small ones. At dinner I ate about 6 of my mum’s chips. Im
still around 100g less carbs than normal though. The halloumi fries instead Wetherspoons are very nice. They aren’t in breadcrumbs which is good. There might be the lightest of batters but I’m not sure. It certainly didn’t fully coat them anyway. Dd had wanted a McDonald’s which is harder to adjust for carbs and I was quite glad when she said Wetherspoons instead. Classy lasses we are! I usually eat a pizza but really wanted to see what I could have that was lower carb. The salads all had weird stuff in and pearl barley and/or quinoa.

I’ve walked 12 miles and have come in at 1384 calories today and I’m happy with that. I’ve eaten later than I’d like due to being out but it’s fine. Less walking tomorrow but I should still clock up around 7 miles at least. I’ve drunk plenty of water today too.

So here I am, three days in and feeling much better about things. All it takes is one day of being back on track to get you back in the right mindset so to those struggling to get back on like I was-just go for it.

TealSloth · 19/06/2025 06:39

Morning, am still on plateau my weight is not shifting after a long time I feel really down. Been 3 days in a row where my weight is not shifted from scale. I need to stay positive so I don't touch my negative food or over eat.

LightGirl · 19/06/2025 06:45

-800g this week! Not ideal, but it's a small progress, and I'm okay with that. Hoping for more loss next week!

socks1107 · 19/06/2025 08:16

@TealSloth mine has started to go up again and I genuinely have no idea why. I won’t make my goal in three weeks and that has done me in this week. After doing everything right.

thanks for all your nice words yesterday, I really am quite down about the whole thing and terrified of this job change and what that will mean ( and it’s not my choosing) I’m 5lbs away from my first goal and only three weeks to go. Gutted.
I won’t give up because I’ve come so far but I’m frustrated with the situation and not sure how to approach it now

LemonDrizzle23 · 19/06/2025 09:03

@TealSloth and @socks1107 sorry you’re both feeling a bit defeated. It’s so annoying when you know you’re doing everything right and nothing changes.

Well, I toasted myself on my sunny walk yesterday 😬 so I’m hiding inside today. Will try and get some steps around the house. In the shade. Covered in after sun!

LegoTherapy · 19/06/2025 09:11

im sorry some of you are feeling so down. Have you got the happy scale app? It’s really good and looks at trends so you can see if your overall trend is downwards. Are you logging every food and drink? Is there anywhere you can make adjustments to up protein. And decrease carbs? Are you drinking lots of water? any exercise you can add in even a walk to boost metabolism? I’m sorry if you’re already doing this. I’m just trying to think of ways they might help. Do you want to share your usual diet to see if anyone can suggest changes? Sometimes a tweak here or there can be the boost the metabolism needs. Keep going though, you can do it. Bodies are stubborn 🥰

Keep going because mine has stopped falling plateau thing kicking in but am not giving up do feel down though I won't lie. But we can't give up am with you all the way keep at it.

2in2022twoyearson · 19/06/2025 10:14

I didn't feel very hungry yesterday in the heat so didn't eat much. I stopped eating by 6pm then had breakfast at 8:15. I normally do 13 hours and that extra hour was not good for me, as I was starting to feel confused and angry, just before I actually felt hungry. Anyone else get that. I was possibly a bit dehydrated from yesterday's head as well as hungry as I drink the most with meals. My t shirt was really tight on my arms today. I don't know if that's because I've been doing some upper body excersices or effect of the heat,.my tom, but it's very sudden.

Marshmellowbunny · 19/06/2025 10:46

@2in2022twoyearson I just saw your response. Sorry. I'm glad someone understands my white chocolate weakness. It's also pints of beer so, not good at all 😥

I didn't post yesterday because I was back at work for the first time since January!
It's also my TOM so I'm hoping when this has finished things will be better. But who knows!

SW: 10st 9.6lb
CW: 10st 7lb
GW: 10st (would be good but I don't know if achievable)

So only a 2.6 loss since 2nd June! Like I say though. Hopefully TOM is at play and I need to stop drinking pints 😂

Well done to everyone that did write up something and for the losses this week!

If you didn't lose then it's all okay! We just pick ourselves up and carry on 😄 we got this!

Hope everyone is having a fabulous week and have a good (seemingly HOT) solstice this weekend!

TheRealHousewife · 19/06/2025 11:24

Cross posted - @Marshmellowbunny How was your first day back? Well done on your loss 👏; Just over a lb a week loss is not to shabby. If that rate remained consistent = 52lbs in a year 😮

Marshmellowbunny · 19/06/2025 13:08

Thank you for your kindness @TheRealHousewife

My first day back was good. Really tiring but nice to see people. I did come home exhausted and really craving beer though. So I had two cans and I refuse to feel bad about it because I clearly needed it and not too much damage on the scales, as you said. 52lb would be good! I really struggle to look at things positively....so thank you ❤️

Hope you are well!

frostedshreddie · 19/06/2025 13:27

Ah I do love the positive vibes on this thread, it's really helps reading through it all :)

Today I have had my usual smoothie for breakfast, just had tuna mixed with small amount of salad cream on a slice of toasted sourdough bread, with some homegrown cucumber too! Also just went for a half hour walk to get some steps in, scorching though!!🥵

WearyAuldWumman · 19/06/2025 13:56

Dentist went well, thanks. I go back to get measured for the crown on Monday.

in Edinburgh for scan today, so no training.

Positive vibes gratefully received.

Having to force myself not to do a runner!

BlueOysterCultGroupie · 19/06/2025 18:12

Welcome @shufflestep you've done amazingly so far. I just joined this week at the start of the journey (again).

The heat has been a challenge for lots of us I'm sure... I've eaten OK, protein based lunch definitely kept me full for longer today.

Well done @WearyAuldWumman dentists and hospital appointments are both stressful.

That's a lot of walking @LegoTherapy

Flowers to those struggling, we've all been there

socks1107 · 19/06/2025 19:51

I’ve reduced calories slightly and done 15k steps today plus a 30minute swim. Let’s see how the scale looks over the next few days 😂

QueenMabby · 19/06/2025 19:51

Rather heavy on the calories today. Dd, in a post gcse euphoria, made macarons. We ate a lot of “spare” ganache! 🤣

Fellsbells · 19/06/2025 20:04

Started strong with a healthy breakfast and 5km run. Then a bacon sandwich accidentally fell in my mouth at lunchtime. Dinner was a healthy salmon stir fry. Unfortunately I had icecream(s) whilst cooking it (and a kitkat chunky) (and lots of peanuts). Sadly the heat doesn’t reduce my appetite at all. A Kinder Bueno may have been involved as well. Not ideal, but onwards and upwards.

LegoTherapy · 19/06/2025 21:32

@FellsbellsI have days like that too and I’ve never been less hungry when it’s hot. tomorrow is a fresh new day so don’t beat yourself up.

Both dinner plans were abandoned due to me not buying risotto rice then waiting far too long to eat so I’m sat eating breadsticks and red pepper hummus. I’m over my carbs but my calories are 1543 and I’ve walked over 11 miles. That’s nearly 35 miles this week. I’ve been lazy and got a taxi twice due to the heat and the hills not mixing, and once because of being at an appointment that ran late so I’ve missed out on about 5 miles with that.

Mfp tells me if I keep eating like I am then in 5 weeks I would be 49kg. That’s crazy talk. I’ll be happy to get to 54 and stay there.

The good thing about this heat is the increase in water. I must have had 3 litres today.

@LemonDrizzle23I noticed there were hugs needed so sending you some ☺️

LegoTherapy · 20/06/2025 07:07

Morning all. 56.8kg this morning so another small loss. A loss of 1.35kg this week. That’s over 4 packs of original kerrygold or over 2 of the new huge blocks they’ve brought out (which are cheaper per 100g to buy and currently on offer at Waitrose if you’re interested £4.75 for 500g).
I hope everyone has a great day and isn’t too bothered by the heat. It’s going to be cloudy here so no doubt muggy.
