⭐️OPEN TO ALL⭐️

Following on from ⭐️Move It March 2025⭐️

Spring has sprung at long last! ☀️ Are you ready for Active April?

To reach optimum health and vitality (as well as a slim bod) we need to focus not only on our food intake; but movement, our mental health and sleep quality too!

Who doesn’t want to feel good and energetic as well looking great! Get on board to reset & refresh and become a healthier version of yourself.

These threads are for those who’d like to lose weight and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We generally have WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and generally eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost over 3 stone. After having been on the wrong side of 12st The last time I weighed I was hovering around 9st 2lbs. I would like to get back into the 8’s 🤞

Are you in😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

New members … Give it a go; it’s never too late! Come summer you’ll be pleased you did 😊

Beloved long timers it would be great for you to keep going❤️

May I join you? I’m struggling to lose 2 stone and very unmotivated on my own! Current weight: 12 st
Goal weight: 10 st
Going to try Fast 800, or principles of, as not sure I can justify the expense of signing up!
Very encouraging to see all of you keeping at it - well done! 💐

Sighthoundsforever · 13/04/2025 00:31

@devoncreamtea you can absolutely do this. Your goal is exactly the same as mine. On 31st January I weighed in at 12st and am now 10st 2lbs. To be honest once I got into a routine I really haven’t found it hard. I worked out my calorie deficit, stuck to it, included some of my favourite foods to work within the deficit and walk 10k per day. Once you see progress in your clothes you will get so motivated. water weight can send numbers flying up on the scale so don’t let it demotivate you. The very best of luck - it’s very doable

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 13/04/2025 08:19

Morning all.

we had friends over for a bbq yesterday, and while I’m sure I blew my calorie budget, we deliberately didn’t have usual bbq fare of burgers, sausages etc and instead had chicken & halloumi with some healthy sides. And got out for a 6k walk beforehand. I know that there will be days where I exceed my calorie limit, but instead of being annoyed about it, I’m trying to be a bit more mindful about my choices on days that I know it will happen, and just enjoy the day/evening/event. So on that basis, yesterday was a success. And really good fun!

Thanks so much for saying that! That’s amazing to hear and very motivating. Well done on your weight loss, that’s so quick! I’m digging in: set by my goal on MFP and am logging everything. Swerved wine and snacks last night with the family. Switched my rice with home made curry for cauliflower rice. (Prefer it anyway!) and will get out with the dog for a long walk.
Inspired now!

Sighthoundsforever · 13/04/2025 11:12

@devoncreamtea oops sorry - I meant I started on 31st December - New Year’s Eve. So on average I lost about 2lbs a week. I have dogs 🐶 too - they are brilliant for getting me out. Best of luck

devoncreamtea · 13/04/2025 11:21

Still pretty quick! I love walking my dog, it really helps to have a purpose to exercise, otherwise I just don’t allow myself the time (I know that’s the wrong attitude, but I’ve got so many any other responsibilities!)
I’ve been out already and had a late breakfast afterwards of scrambled eggs. Time for jobs and gardening now. Nice weather again here.

WearyAuldWumman · 13/04/2025 12:16

Can't get to the gym until the wing mirror is fixed, so concentrating on the garden.

Getting an arm workout with the hedgecutter.

LBB2020 · 13/04/2025 13:43

11st so 1lb down this week, happy with that! Definitely could have done better but a loss is a loss

WearyAuldWumman · 13/04/2025 13:57

Well, that's another section of hedge cut - above head height, so I'm definitely getting an arm workout.

LemonDrizzle23 · 13/04/2025 18:58

Well I think there’s been a questionable calorie intake this weekend. Bbq last night and then bacon sandwiches, and lunch out today 😬
I have however worked out for an hour each day and hit over 10,000 steps each day as well.
Still definitely have a bit of “getting the family together over food to grieve” going on.

Hope everyone has had a lovely weekend. Where has the sun gone though?!

LighterSpring25 · 13/04/2025 20:14

I've been shopping today for healthy food. I've seen two friends over the weekend who've lost weight and look great by eating healthy and moving more.

I've realised I've not really been trying. I've prepared a tuna salad for lunch tomorrow with yogurt and strawberries.

socks1107 · 14/04/2025 08:07

From this mornings weigh in I’m heading into week 4/5 of a plateau. Seriously fed up of it.
And I know the weekend will be a bit heavier with plans we have. So… good for four days then maintenance over Easter and then I’ll need to reasses the plan to get it moving again. Don’t have a opening hell of making my June target now and that’s really derailing my thoughts on this weight loss

DarkDarkNight · 14/04/2025 10:15

Can I join please?

SW - 12.8
CW - 11.10
GW - 9.5

Starting my 4th week now. Feeling very motivated so I’m trying to just keep going. I’m doing lots of walking and started back at an exercise class.I need to start the gym eventually.

nessiesnotreal · 14/04/2025 11:26

How is everyone doing this morning?

Well I ended up having a good weekend and managed to stick to my calories and got some workouts in and a couple of lovely long dog walks too.

Then last night, my neighbour came back from visiting family and I had been keeping an eye on her house for her while she was away. She came round with a cake she had baked for me!!! 😩😬She wanted to say thank you and I obviously took it. I mean, what was I supposed to do say 'no thanks I am trying to be healthy' so now its been calling me from the cupboard ever since and I have been trying hard not to give in. 😂DH doesn't eat cake. What the hell do I do with it???

HollyGolightly4 · 14/04/2025 12:28

I hate to say it @nessiesnotreal - bin! Unless you have excellent willpower that is, but I know for a fact I would eat it. How kind! But such a challenge for you. Maybe have one slice with a brew, take a photo and voila. Not ideal though 😂

HollyGolightly4 · 14/04/2025 12:32

Does anyone else put a significant amount of weight back on when they start their period? It's very unwelcome on a lot of fronts, but this is the icing on the cake! (Metaphorically speaking - there is no cake- I'm trying to eat healthily!)

TheRealHousewife · 15/04/2025 08:51

Good Morning

I really must thank you all in how you all contribute in keeping the threads running👍 You’re awesome 🙌❤️

@HollyGolightly4 I agree monthly period gain is very frustrating! I used to bloat terrible every month! One month I put on 11lbs in several days and looked very pregnant. Years down the line I was eventually diagnosed with endometriosis. I will say once my period commenced it all whooshed away
again.

@socks1107 Try not to give up 👍Plateaus can be very tough to overcome. I used to have the longest plateaus but no matter how frustrating I kept going. Otherwise I knew my sts weight would become a gain. I know that it’s tough and unfair.

@LemonDrizzle23 Great step count! 👍👏👌

Welcome to the thread @DarkDarkNight & @devoncreamtea (great advise given by @Sighthoundsforever 👌)

Menu
Meal 1 - Chicken, lentil & Vegetable soup. GF cob.
Meal 2 - Halloumi, red pepper & butterbean stir fry. Rhubarb Crème Brûlée.
Drinks - Tea, black coffee with collagen, water.

Not a great day for me yesterday! Was out all day with friends and the children, even though we took a reasonably healthy packed lunch I still ate too much and quite a bit of rubbish! Only plus was high step count!
@HollyGolightly4 I'm due my period this week and I’m so bloated and feel gross (yesterday’s food doesn’t help!). I usually gain a few lbs so avoid the scales until after I’ve finished as even though I know why I still find it frustrating and demotivating

Fellsbells · 15/04/2025 09:41

Good to see you @PatienceOfEngels hope life is kinder to you from now on. Sounds like you’ve got some great plans and strategies. I always enjoy reading your posts.

Food has been my downfall this week. Exercise has been good though. I’m running, walking, gardening, and doing some work outs. It’s too easy to over eat unfortunately.

TakeAMinutePlease · 15/04/2025 09:52

I’m looking at a maintain this week but I’m actually pretty happy with that. I’ve indulged in lots of lovely food with the kids over the first week of their school holidays but have also kept up with my exercise.

I’m just trying to continue with the normal eating around the out of routine treats.

I hope everyone has a good day. I love reading all your updates.

socks1107 · 15/04/2025 13:24

TheRealHousewife thank you! I’m going to increase my calories over the weekend and then drop again next week to refeed myself. I think I’ve been eating too little.
i walk 18k steps a day and have been eating 1500 when i should probably have been on 1750. So I’ve no where to go without being really hungry. So I’m going to increase up too 1650 ish after my weekend and see where that gets me!

WearyAuldWumman · 15/04/2025 13:28

Off the wagon for a couple of days.

Had another biopsy yesterday, and a bit crampy so I'm being a woose. I thought I was only going to see whether the Mirena was suiting me....

I now have to see my own surgery to have my HRT adjusted, seemingly.

nessiesnotreal · 15/04/2025 14:00

A good start to a new week! Feel a bit bloated and uncomfortable like I am about to come on my period but I had this last month too and it never showed up. Perimenopausal and periods just show up when the bloody hell they want 😂

But other than that mood is pretty good, my eating has gone to plan and I have smashed workouts yesterday and today and managed to get a decent dog walk in before the deluge of rain arrived!!! So I have hit my steps goal already and its only 2pm so I am currently in smug mode. 😎

nessiesnotreal · 15/04/2025 14:02

God yes. My belly becomes bloated and hard like I am pregnant and I just get really uncomfortable. This is when the leggings or joggers come out and I live in them for a few days. But I always gain. Thankfully it does sod off again as quickly as it arrived after a few days.

PatienceOfEngels · 15/04/2025 17:06

Thanks @Fellsbells 🤗

Did not go to plan today food wise but managed my relaxation exercises this morning and then some selfcare/admin tasks (hairdresser and opticians...I need new glasses as my eyes are getting worse. Hello mid-40s!).

Also cycled into town and back for my appointments so did 40 minutes on the bike (recreational cycling doesn't count as weekly exercise when filling in questionnaires for your GP here in NL...definitely counts for me!).

Have had a much more relaxing day. Yesterday was a killer (7 hours of teaching 😭) and my pelvic floor was very unhappy by the end of it. Only 2 more days until the school holidays here and I can't wait.

Yes @HollyGolightly4 my weight always goes up at the beginnning of my cycle, but then this might be because at the end of my cycle I am craving sugar and rubbish! I do get hit with this bone crushing tiredness as well and then major grumps just before as well. I never used to get PMT until I was late 30s. Being a woman sucks sometimes!

Going to start again tomorrow with food.
