⭐️OPEN TO ALL⭐️

Following on from ⭐️Move It March 2025⭐️

Spring has sprung at long last! ☀️ Are you ready for Active April?

To reach optimum health and vitality (as well as a slim bod) we need to focus not only on our food intake; but movement, our mental health and sleep quality too!

Who doesn’t want to feel good and energetic as well looking great! Get on board to reset & refresh and become a healthier version of yourself.

These threads are for those who’d like to lose weight and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We generally have WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and generally eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost over 3 stone. After having been on the wrong side of 12st The last time I weighed I was hovering around 9st 2lbs. I would like to get back into the 8’s 🤞

Are you in😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

New members … Give it a go; it’s never too late! Come summer you’ll be pleased you did 😊

Beloved long timers it would be great for you to keep going❤️

I've just changed my milk delivery order. Have cancelled the orange juice - I'm finding it unbearably sweet. Have changed my semi-oatmilk to skinny. That knocks it down from 90 to 80 calories a mug. Every little helps...

Skyglimmer · 05/04/2025 07:02

Did my weigh in and only a 0.3kg change but still going down. I've now lost a total of 8.1kg since September so I'm really pleased. Close to my goal weight now so the loss is getting slower. I've been a bit too relaxed at the weekends as well so that hasn't helped.

magicmermaid · 05/04/2025 09:42

Good Morning please can I join? 👋🏻
I am starting a 6 week calorie deficit today, not really worried about the overall number on the scale but focusing on body fat % and measurements. I have spent last 6 months (approx.) eating at "maintenance" calories which is a very scary 2300 whilst weight lifting 3-4 times a week.
So now I would like to lose some of the fluff and see if I have any definition hiding in there!
So my calories will be 1600-1800/day and will still be ensuring lots of protein intake with weight lifting to not lose muscle along the way. I will up my cardio too.

HappyLittleTreeFriend · 05/04/2025 10:09

Morning guys! I am still
calorie counting, not gone massively over last week but I need to deffo have a week where I’m well under soon - I think I will find the Easter holidays hard to do this in but going to try! I have a night out next week with friends and have a new dress to wear so I have some motivation to at least try and rein in food, feel less bloated etc 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

nessiesnotreal · 05/04/2025 10:18

Late to the party but can I join?? 😊

I have been a proper mess this last couple of years and completely fallen out of my usual eating well and working out routine which I have had successfully for decades!! Just stopped taking care of myself and now I am here.

Two kids leaving home, both parents passing away suddenly (my Dad just last month) and the perimenopause have had me comfort eating like an arse and left me with 2 stone to lose.

No-one likes to look in the mirror and see a potato staring back at them do they? My belly fat has taken on a life of its own and my knockers have become huge!! (which DH is loving) But I feel a bloated, puffy, flabby mess.

Started calorie counting and back to my workouts from Monday of this week and already feeling better in myself. Although the DOMS is unreal!!

But I finally feel motivated to get myself back to a healthier weight and stop being a dick with food. 💪

HollyGolightly4 · 05/04/2025 10:26

Sounds really tough @nessiesnotreal well done on getting back in the gym!

Sounds really tough @nessiesnotreal well done on getting back in the gym!

Thank you. I have been trying for ages but have just had this weird mental block that has stopped me. I have worked out most of my adult life, even when pregnant (am now 45) But for some reason I just couldn't bring myself to get back. Finally did on Monday and it feels good. I took motivation from my eldest DC who suffers from depression and got herself up and back to work after 2 weeks off sick because she could barely get out of bed. She did it, and I thought if she can do that, then I can go to the gym. So I did!

Funny though, now I have done it I have worked out every day since and feel super motivated. I just needed to get over that mental hurdle.

Hopefully the calorie counting will work alongside it to help me shift the weight I have gained.

Good Morning All,

I hope I can join you here for support and accountability.

I have been trying to lose one stone for about 15 years now. I know I am lacking consistency and willpower. I also love chocolate and now I am also perimenopausal. I love carbs but they are my enemy; I look swollen and puffy when I eat a carb rich diet.

I may have been lacking willpower and consistency in the past, but now I am angry and gave had enough. Plus, my daughter will be graduating from University this June and I would like to look thinner for the event.

Age: 45
Height : 5'4"
SW/CW: 152
GW: 140 and will review from there

Good luck everyone!

PoppyHill123 · 05/04/2025 11:33

I forgot to add that I will be using Carb Manager to count my calorie, carb and protein intake.

Good Luck!

I have a DD in uni too although she is just year one.

Keep her graduation in mind every time you want to give up and use it as motivation. Think about being able to buy a nice dress or outfit for it and looking lovely on her big day. 😊

LemonDrizzle23 · 05/04/2025 17:08

Have had a positive few days bar some carrot cake (which is now gone 😬). Have managed between 10-15k steps a day. And this morning, I did a youtube work out with the Body Project which I absolutely loved. Real emphasis on “progress, not perfection”.

Easter holidays have now officially started, and DS seems to be off for 2.5 weeks somehow 🧐 We’re away next week to a little country cottage. Some day trips planned, and we’re near a lake, so maybe a good chance to get steps in! Will be packing comfy trainers and good intentions….

BlossBurger · 05/04/2025 18:01

Have been full of a nasty flu bug this week so although I’ve lost weight I’m not counting it as any kind of a win 🙁. Hopefully next week will be better. I have the Fast 800 Keto recipe book and the food looks amazing! So I’m looking forward to switching to healthy Mediterranean style low carb as soon as I get my appetite back!

HollyGolightly4 · 06/04/2025 10:57

Weighing in at 82.4.

Sadly, all those people are right - it genuinely is eat less (or fewer calories!) and move more and you will lose weight. There's no magic wand!

socks1107 · 06/04/2025 11:41

Thank you for your lovely advice on the getting scale moving again. I seem to have dropped again this weekend so hoping that’s it and it doesn’t bounce up again.
Off for a long walk and a swim today 😊

Yup. My weight is sticking. I'm definitely moving more, but I need to concentrate on eating less...

I've definitely been eating more healthily, but possibly too much of it.

Friends have said that there's less of me, but the scales are sticking. Supposedly, the Mirena that was fitted can cause weight gain, but I don't think that I can blame that.

I'm seeing the consultant in less than a fortnight, at which time it'll either be removed or I'll be prescribed oestrogen to balance it. (At the moment, I'm on a combined HRT pill.)

Thus far, side effects have been cystic acne (one bout and the only bout of the cystic type that I've ever had in my life) tummy trouble and - possibly - added facial hair. I'm hoping that having things more balanced will help.

I'm also trying to remember to moisturise. At my age, I'm trying to come to terms with the idea that loose skin will be inevitable. I lost 4.5 stone when I was in my 40s - no loose skin or stretch marks then, but I fear that things will be different now that I'm in my 7th decade.

buzzofthebumblebee · 06/04/2025 12:33

Quick hello instead of reaching for a snack ; )

Signed-up properly with nutracheck - calorie counting is really helping me see what I can - and more importantly can't - eat. Think I may have set it too low at 1200 as I'm pretty active, but a good initial loss will be very motivational.

B - blueberries, greek yoghurt + spoon museli
L - salmon & spinach salad with slice seeded rye bread
D - prawn stir fry, loads veg, limited noodles
S - carrot sticks + humous

Very well done @nessiesnotreal - hope you continue to be motivated - it will pay off long term. Carrot cake is my favourite @LemonDrizzle23 ! Love what you said about Progress not Perfection.

Well done everyone else. Don't give in to temptation just because it's the weekend and sunny. Even more reason to be strong.

Thank you for your kind message of support. Yes, I often daydream about her graduation day and wonder what would be a nice thing to wear. I hope this will give me the motivation I normally lack.

LighterSpring25 · 06/04/2025 15:04

Happy Sunday everyone. I've just spent 2 hours heavy gardening so I'm hoping that will have burnt some calories as we're out for my DH's Birthday meal in an hour. I have a lot to do this year as I've neglected our garden for a couple of years.

And think about how you will be on those photos forever!! That normally helps me. You want to look back at her graduation photos and think how gorgeous you looked 😉

nessiesnotreal · 06/04/2025 15:12

Well I have gone from being fairly inactive for months on end to knocking out 3 weight training sessions, 2 HIIT sessions and finished off the week by doing a 2 hour dog walk yesterday and an hour long one today!! 😂

Midnightstar76 · 06/04/2025 15:24

I am in again! A big step for me and tons of willpower is I have given up alcohol. DH is the influence usually and I crumble big time but for the past two weeks I have left it. DH bought himself 4 cans of Guinness on Friday which I don’t like to be honest and I avoided putting anything in the shopping trolly. Health wise I have to change. I have psoriasis but went to Dermatologist and being referred to Rheumatologist to check for psoriatic arthritis. So that is my big kick up the ass to sort me out. Headed out for run this morning and have a pinch of nom recipe planned for next week xxx Onwards and upwards

AnonymousMum37 · 06/04/2025 17:32

I'm getting so disheartened. I've actually gone up now and I'm hungry.

socks1107 · 06/04/2025 18:40

My DDs graduation this year is one of my motivations. I want to look and feel good!
20k steps and a 30 minutes swim and stuck to my calories today. Feel good but exhausted

QueenMabby · 06/04/2025 21:31

Rather heavy weekend for me. DS’s birthday so a curry out last night then a big Sunday lunch and cake today. Still, it was worth it. It’s only one day and I’ll be back on it (and back to the gym) tomorrow.

TheWayTheLightFalls · 07/04/2025 05:54

Heavy weekend here too with visitors staying, so it’s damage limitation here. Going for healthy, nourishing food and 16.8 today.
