im menopausal and struggling. Have put on 2.5 stones in the last year /18m

goal have a good fitness routine including strength and good nutrition. And lose weight again.

I gained 30lbs since going into the first lockdown. I would like to shift around half of it as it's horrible for my knees and feet. I have a DH who needs to shed weight for health reasons.

We have a Peloton and have taken well to cycling. We both need to start a consistent strength and weight training programme. I'm never entirely confident about my form.

lifelongfrugaleer · 16/01/2025 08:07

I’ve been to a strength class this morning. Hitt type. Trying to do 3 or 4 a week then steps

Happierwithouthim · 16/01/2025 08:11

Hack do you plan to do that at home or in the gym?
If at home get a session with a PT to show you correct form and do a training programme if gym there will be someone to help you.!

Life I'm dreading peri & meno will hearing stories from others. Imagine I get to goal with ozempic and then this landed!!
You're in better form when exercising too. Can you book ahead in classes? I know you said they were choc a bloc for last week

Was it good life
My free time has been eaten up with travel for past four weeks but now that's not an issue I need to factor in time for exercise

In there are soon as the classes open for the ones I want. Still chocca though.

Then you are spared my collection of high protein/high fibre bread or muffin recipes featuring vital wheat gluten and/or oat fibre (not oats or bran, just the fibre) with honourable mentions for linseed but absolutely no coconut flour under any circumstances.

lifelongfrugaleer · 17/01/2025 18:48

Ooo they sound interesting hack

Happierwithouthim · 18/01/2025 14:22

I can't reasonably estimate my weight at the moment. I'm carrying a lot of oedema so my very rapid 5lb weight gain is probably not, IYSWIM.

We really need vast stores of patience for this, don't we.

lifelongfrugaleer · 24/01/2025 18:31

Had a rough week with migraine so poor on both food & fitness

Happierwithouthim · 24/01/2025 22:15

Super shit for both of you

Back in it with food yesterday. Feel s better for proper food.

Happierwithouthim · 26/01/2025 09:32

I got Burger King due to being on the road a long yesterday instantly regretted it and only ate two chicken strips and a handful of chips and drank my Fanta instead.
Breakfast was two poached eggs with avocado on chia wholegrain bread.
Dinner was hello fresh pork mince with rice dish and was delicious and ds chose the Mexican beef tortillas and wolfed it down. I'm thinking because he chose it himself & helped cooked it. I may keep up hellofresh if this continues he enjoys baking at the moment too and I want to encourage this.

Only spend was Burger King, his boxing was meant to be €5 but was free for some reason.

I slept from 9.15pm until 9am this morning with the exception of getting up to put ds to bed & toilet trip.
