A boring thread of calorie counting/whatever accountability

Hi, fucking hell, I'm trying to gradually make changes and loose weight sustainably but I keep falling off the wagon to the point that I'm flat lining/ beginning to trend upwards so I'm going to try calorie counting instead for a while while I get back down. Threads like this have helped me in the past, but I'll probably only post weight I what I've eaten - anyone want to join & encourage each other?
I'm 5 foot 10, 88kg and would like as a first goal to eat 1500 -1600 calories a day and get down to 85kg before Christmas, with a longer term goal of getting to 80kg and possibly staying there, possibly getting to 75 (which is actually a healthy weight for me.

Sun 29 Sept:

Breakfast: half a glass of juice - 50

Lunch: Houmous - 200
Lettuce - negligible
Flat bread with butter - 250
Plum - 50
Cake bar - 100

Dinner: Tomato soup - 150
Veggie cheeseburger - 600
Mango - 100
Biscuit - 150

Total: 1650

Aaargghhh! This is the 'restrained' version. Shockingly I've not lost any weight this week, so still 12:10. I haven't been out of doors today because the weather is appalling but I did have a 45 minute workout on the mini trampoline.

Next week will be very different, I've decided!

RainbowWife · 29/09/2024 20:08

Welcome, @OneDayIWillLearn and happy Sunday to my pals on this page!

Today was a trickier day as we ate out and I got my period and was STARVING.

So I've had;

B: Coffee with oat milk, and my usual Aldi strawberry and granola yogurt - 215

L: Quiche with salad and half a chocolate brownie - 529

D: Honey baked salmon with sweet potato wedges and a whole tin of sweetcorn because I fancied it - 763

S: 2 Haagen-Daz salted caramel things (122), 2 crackbreads with ham (98), an orange (58) and 2 dates (52)

-194 over. Ah well!

A win really, since it's the day where I want to eat the entire world!

RainbowWife · 29/09/2024 20:09

You're doing your best, @SnugglyJumpersMakeItBetter what are you going to aim for next week?

Screwdrivver · 29/09/2024 20:50

Lunch: cheese and tomato roll (406) with crisps (233)
Dinner: fishcake (250) with kale and peas (Negligible) and tartar sauce (102)
Still hungry so I have just cracked and eaten some cheese (125)
Drinks: coffee (66) glass of wine (150).
Done just over 16,000 steps so hope that cancels out the extra cheese!

SnugglyJumpersMakeItBetter · 30/09/2024 20:03

@RainbowWife Ideally around 1400 this week. Absolutely no more than 1500. By mid October I'd like to drop down to 1350 but I'm giving my stomach a chance to shrink a bit and adjust to 'The New Normal'.

Mon 30th Sept:

Breakfast: Fruity porridge - 200

Lunch: Katsu sweet potato wrap - 450
Crisps - 100
Chocolate treat - 100

Dinner: Broccoli - 50
Chorizo vegetarian sausages - 350
Raspberries - 50
Yoghurt - 100

Total: 1400

Bang on target! That's much better! I didn't really get much exercise today though. I tried bodyboarding but I was only in for 20 minutes because the sea was a heaving chowder of weed and critters. Struggling in and out of my wetsuit must have burned some calories though!

RainbowWife · 30/09/2024 20:22

Well done @SnugglyJumpersMakeItBetter glad you feel better.

I am determined to be 100% this week.

Today I've had;

B: Coffee with oat milk, 2 crumpets with jam - 311

L: Ham and piccolo tomato sandwich - 361

D: Chicken and gnocchi cheesy bake with salad - 564

S: Cotton candy grapes (63), 2 x tea (36), half a lemon meringue (114) with raspberries (24) and 2 dates (52)

118 left and I am stuffed. Good day!

SnugglyJumpersMakeItBetter · 01/10/2024 19:21

Tues 1st Oct:

Breakfast: Smoothie - 150

Lunch: Houmous - 200
Lettuce and cucumber - negligible
Spinach and feta pastries - 200
Plum - 50

Dinner: Tortellini - 350
Tomato sauce - 200

Pear - 100
Yoghurt - 100
Cake bar - 100

Total: 1450

I'm happy with that. I had a longish walk, about an hour.

AspirationalTallskinnylatte · 01/10/2024 19:51

Hello! Weekend away so not so good over that. Today's food:
B. Toast & marmite
L. Cheese toastie & tin of tomato soup
D. Jacket potato with bean chilli, cheese, homemade guacamole, sour cream & salad

OneDayIWillLearn · 01/10/2024 22:21

Just finished my third day on nutracheck, which I am enjoying!

breakfast: vanilla redbuds tea with oat milk
lunch: tub of fat free cottage cheese, popcorn, banana, apple, satsuma
dinner: 1 and a half salmon fillets, samphire, couscous
pudding: fat free natural yoghurt, raspberries, sweetener
snack: large coffee with oat milk mid morning

This has been a standard Tuesday for me on WW and came up just over 1200 cals (which is also what yesterday’s day was- exactly the same pretty much except pasta and puttanesca sauce for dinner).

RainbowWife · 02/10/2024 16:25

Glad it's going well, @OneDayIWillLearn now I'm in the swing of things I'm finding it so easy :)

RainbowWife · 02/10/2024 16:28

Was too tired last night to update and wanted to watch GBBO, so here's yesterdays:

B: Coffee with oat milk, and my usual Aldi strawberry and granola yogurt - 215

L: Falafel wrap with a few chips - 582

D: Aubergine and avocado mini wraps - 579

S: Ginger nut biscuit (47), a pear (56) cup of tea (24), half a pack of raspberries (24) and 1 date (26)

90 left. Possibly less as I was guessing the falafel wrap as it was from a cafe with no calories. Not the best day but I enjoyed lunch out with my friend, so it was worth it!

Screwdrivver · 02/10/2024 18:43

Today I had
Lunch: feta and kale jacket potato (422)
Dinner: bean chilli with rice (471)
Milk in coffee and tea (130)
A good day today

SnugglyJumpersMakeItBetter · 02/10/2024 19:58

Wed 2nd Oct:

Lunch: Soup - 150
Muffin with butter - 200

Peas - 100
Butter - 150
Cheese - 150

Cherries - 50
Yoghurt - 100
Cake bar - 100

Total: 1400

I didn't really have any exercise today, but I was on my feet a lot rather than slobbing out. Hopefully that helps!

AspirationalTallskinnylatte · 02/10/2024 20:02

Today's food:
B. Greek yogurt, berries, homemade granola
L. Homemade chilli chicken pasta with apple and peanut butter for afters
D. Fajita with grapes for afters
Approx 1600 calories

RainbowWife · 03/10/2024 15:20

@SnugglyJumpersMakeItBetter baked potato with peas and cheese? Bananas!

Yesterday I had;

B: My usual Aldi strawberry and granola yogurt, and a caramel latte- 354

L: Ham, cream cheese and piccolo tomato sandwich - 309

D: Mongolian style lamb and garlic rice- only ate half as too spicy for me - 384

S: Doritos (150), 3 ginger nut biscuits (how the hell did I manage to stop at 3, yay me- 141), a pear (67) and 1 date (26)

212 left, but only because I only ate half my dinner! Not my best day as I was starving at bedtime.

RainbowWife · 03/10/2024 15:20

I'm also starving today. Just finished my period so can't blame that. I'm in a good headspace so not emotionally eating. Just HUNGRY AS HELL.

Screwdrivver · 03/10/2024 18:46

Today,
Lunch: baked beans on toast (559)
Dinner: pesto pasta with bacon (452)
Milk in drinks (130)
Make cake and raspberry crumble bars for the kids lunchboxes so just trying to avoid temptation now.

doctorsleep · 03/10/2024 19:35

I am curious to find out if you have lost any weight?

SnugglyJumpersMakeItBetter · 03/10/2024 20:00

RainbowWife · 04/10/2024 09:30

I had what I'd consider a fairly 'bad' day yesterday in terms of my eating because I thought about food literally ALLLL DAYYYY but somehow didn't go over.

B: Blueberry and granola yogurt - 248

L: Ham, cream cheese and piccolo tomato sandwich - 309

D: Ratatouille pasta bake with cream cheese. I didn't like it, so barely ate half - 268

I am down a kilo, I find this thread motivating as it’s not competitive, we are holding ourselves accountable for what we chose to eat.

SilverPearl · 04/10/2024 11:22

Very inspiring reading everyone’s posts. I’m chugging along at 1400 calories daily and really enjoying the strength training.

afrikat · 04/10/2024 13:17

I've had covid for the last 10 days and been really ill, so not done any exercise even walking and not been tracking my food, just eating whatever I've been craving (still relatively healthy though, lots of salads, chicken, veg etc and the odd bagel). Just weighed and I am down 1.5lbs from my last weigh in 3 weeks ago - I'll take that! Coming out the other side now so hopefully ease myself back into exercise and monitor my food intake more closely, would really like to lose 8lbs by December which I feel is doable

EalingLucy · 04/10/2024 14:22

Hi all, I’d love to join! Not long back from a work trip where I put on lots of weight as has no control over what I was eating. I am away at an all inclusive in two weeks too so I really want to lose some weight in between.

am aiming for 800 cals a day.

I did the Fast 800 at the beginning of my weight loss journey and found it really effective. Just make sure you are getting enough protein (at least 60g a day I think is the aim)
