Another Tuesday! although I won't be reporting hopefully with good news until Thursday night.

Right, also thought that starting a new thread every week for just us 3 was mad so thought we'd just have our own on going thread that makes it easier to look back on - is that OK with everyone?

good going smalline

I must have put on abit so far. I seem to have eaten my way through alot of stuff. I'm not worrying abut anything until January. but am trying to compensate by eating fruit of an evening rather than celebrations or biscuits.

Smalline · 15/12/2008 13:57

Thanks Furball. Sounds like you are doing okay really, I bet you are not eating as much as you think you are, are the jeans still fitting?

Lost 1.5lbs this week

Furball · 15/12/2008 14:05

bloody hell smalline - that is fantastic!

hugely jealous. I am eating normally and things are getting a little snug, and the ovehang is more noticable. Only another 2 and a bit weeks of freedom til I go back to class. I must go back to keep me on the straight and narrow.

Went to a party of Saturday and somehow ended up sitting by a chocolate fountain! (by accident of course ) I really was in chocolate heaven, twas very scrummy and on a positive note, kept me away from the buffett and all the bowls of crisps.

Stayed the same this week, I'm hoping for the same result next week, but who knows what I'll get up to over the 7 days.

Furball, Heavybee, Tortoise, Pesme and anyone reading this, I'd like to wish you all a very merry Christmas, and a very healthy and happy new year.

Furball · 23/12/2008 08:27

Brilliant news smalline very hard this time of year.

I can feel my skin stretching as I talk to accomodate the stuff I have scoffed I feel awful for it especially with the lack of fruit and veg in replacement for mincepies and celebrations. The days of it are numbered (am off out for another meal tonight) hopefully come january I can jump back to it. Not decided about going back to class, i think I might see if I can 'go it alone' (yeah right!!)

Have a superb christmas everyone and heres to a happy and slinky 2009

Furball · 27/12/2008 12:54

crikes - I'm literally going to burst I feel bad health wise for eating such crap, but can't help it! Really, really need to get back to it. Hope I can stick to it after visiting the dark side for this month. [fingers crossed]

Furball · 29/12/2008 08:04

It all stops TODAY I've had enough, feel bloated abd completely stuffed and it's madness.

have weighed myself this morning on my own scales and I've put on about 8lbs (blooming heck, god knows what SW scales will read as that is in the eveing with heavier clothes than pjs!)

OP posts:
Smalline · 29/12/2008 09:21

I'm joining you today Furball, have been eating normally since my weigh-in last week, have not been too bad during the day, its the evenings that have been my downfall, too much alcohol & chocolates

Will not be going to my weigh-in today, I hope to repair some of the damage I have done before my weigh-in next monday.

The next few days are going to be the hardest, I'll post tomorrow and let you know how I have got on today.

Good luck

Smalline · 30/12/2008 15:08

I feel so much better today, I ate sensibly yesterday, a large bowl of porridge for breakfast, that kept me going until late afternoon, when I had 3 rich tea biscuits with my coffee, then a very large bowl of homemade stew in the evening packed with vegetables. I had 2 squares of chocolate and 2 large brandies & diet coke.

Today is going quite well, long may it continue.

TortoiseRidesaReindeer · 02/01/2009 21:04

I am going to weigh myself tomorrow morn just to see how bad i have been! Have taken many many risks with food and not had any gall stones attack which is good.
Did i mention op was cancelled due to bed shortage? Anyway, op now planned for the 21st Jan.
I want to be slim for summer this year but struggling with how i am going to stop myself eating in the evenings and finding time to exercise. Although now all DC are at school i should be able to fit something in. Would like an exercise bike/treadmill but not really got room and no money! I need to get my bike fixed up a bit and maybe go out on that everyday. I do enjoy cycling.

Hope everyone has had a good Xmas and Happy New Year to you all.

Furball · 03/01/2009 07:12

nice to hear from you tortise

I'm still out of control and feel like I', breathing out all the time with an umcomfortable bloating feeling. I'm off running in about an hour, haven't been for a fortnight which hasn't helped.

OP posts:
Tortoise · 04/01/2009 23:13

First of all, i forgot to weigh myself.
second, i am eating/picking more than i have all holiday the last few days. Maybe cos the kids are around less in the evenings, i don't know. But it has too stop! I feel bloated and just grotty.

Also planned to start going to bed earlier on school nights but here i am still sat up on the computer. I hardly had it on during the holidays and didn't really miss it. So why do i seem unable to swich off tonight?

I am sooo useless!

Furball · 05/01/2009 06:57

tortoise - you are not useless thats for sure.

i think it's a positive you forgot to weigh yourself, better than weighing everyday and think you're not going anywhere as the change is miniscule.

I'm just about to endure 2 weeks of the cereal diet (where you have cereal for brekkie and lunch and a healthy meal in the evening. I feel that is doable to give me a boost.

I know I did well with slimming world and it has a new plan launched last week, but I just don't feel like I can/want to do it.

OP posts:
Tortoise · 05/01/2009 21:24

Thanks Furball .
I am pleased with weigh in result! Only put 2lbs on so now 11st 10lbs.

I was thinking of joining WW online. Going to look at the price probably too much but worth a look. i did well on WW about 6 yrs ago. got to goal weight.

Good luck with the cereal diet. I would do it but milk seems to leave me very bloated so i avoid it. not keen on special k either!

Tortoise · 05/01/2009 22:08

Well WW is out! According to them i am within the healthy weight range and can't join. Actually, that is good really. It is quite expensive too but i would have liked to look at recipes. Nevermind.

Furball · 06/01/2009 04:51

wow tortoise that is good to hear! even though it's not ifswim.

anyway - do a search for ww recipes there's loads here's one and just for a laugh to see how things have changed (thankfully) here's some from the 1970's! - scroll through them yuck

Special K? not a special K in sight, yesterday I had bran flakes and banana for brekkie and porridge for lunch. -sounds nearly as apertising as those 1970 ww recipes!!

OP posts:
Furball · 08/01/2009 06:01

How we all doing?

I'm ok on me cereal diet, did go to a friends yesterday who provided a quiche and a pizza with salad for lunch, followed by a creme egg. Well it would have been rude to refuse

haven't managed to go for a run in the snow, it's just too brrr. But I do walk 1/2 mile to school and 1/2 mile back twice a day, which must be better than nothing.

OP posts:
Smalline · 09/01/2009 13:39

Hi everyone & happy new year. Didn't do too bad over the holidays, went back to WW on Monday, I put on 2.5lbs which I'm happy with, I'm about 18lbs less than I was this time last year.

I'm back to eating healthily again, apart from last night, was DD's birthday and I couldn't resist the chocolate birthday cake.

Tortoise from what you are saying, it seems to me that you do not need to lose weight (you lucky thing) maybe all you need is to tone up.

Good luck with the cereal diet Furball hope it is going well.

Furball · 12/01/2009 06:52

blooming heck - a pound on I did do the cereal diet for most of the week but when I didn't it was for not only food but unhealthy fatty like cheesy sort of food - all unintentional of course

had a feeling it will be like this and after a few weeks will end up going back to sw with my tail between my legs.

off out for tapas tonight!

how is everyone else?

OP posts:
Smalline · 12/01/2009 14:35

Wow! I cannot believe that I have lost my Christmas weight already, 2.5lbs off this week, I celebrated my loss with a lovely slice of lemon cake.

Furball, if I were you, I would get myself back to SW, don't worry about that tail between your legs rubbish, you go with your head held high with the knowledge that you have already lost a good deal of weight and are back to lose some more.

Furball · 12/01/2009 14:52

well done - smalline!

thanks for the nudge back to sw,. I know I need to, I obviously can't live without scoffing my face. mad isn't it?

OP posts:
Furball · 12/01/2009 16:13

I've decided to start WW. I know I did well with SW but only for a while - it took me 4 months to lose that last 1/2 stone as I just got bored.

So wednesday is my new weigh in day with a new/different plan. hopefully if I can keep motivated for 6 weeks so I can shift this last stone

OP posts:
Smalline · 13/01/2009 12:03

Good luck with WW Furball, have dabbled with SW myself a couple of times in the past but found that WW was better for me.

Are you going to do the Monthly Pass? works out cheaper £4.14 per week instead of £5.50, you go along to the weekly meetings as well as have access to their website.

Furball · 13/01/2009 13:29

I'm not sure what I'll do - i've had a shufty on t'interweb and they've changed the plan to be like SW? and newbies will get this plan. Have decided to turn up tomorrow and see what they say. hopefuly will buy a 6 week plan or something to keep me on the straight and narrow

OP posts:
Furball · 14/01/2009 14:54

Well - I'm back!

Discovered I need the appetite of a mouse There aint a lot of room for anything that isn't healthy.

I need to get it off and ship out me thinks I'm hoping to be at target by 6-8 weeks [chubby fingers crossed]

Will meal plan tonight and shop tomorrow. - bought the mag and got a free cookbook for doing the month thing.

ps - I stuffed my face this morning and wore my jeans (with a belt!) and had put on 8lbs so not tooooo bad considering I've had a bloody good time!
