Another Tuesday! although I won't be reporting hopefully with good news until Thursday night.

Right, also thought that starting a new thread every week for just us 3 was mad so thought we'd just have our own on going thread that makes it easier to look back on - is that OK with everyone?

found this poem that I'd posted 5 years ago on another diet thread

The Dieting Blues

Twas the month after New Year's, and all through the house
Nothing would fit me, not even a blouse.
The cookies I'd nibbled, the eggnog I'd taste the holiday parties had gone to thy waist.
When I got on the scales there arose such a number! That I walked to the store (less a walk than a lumber).
Then I remembered the marvelous meals I'd prepared; The gravies, sauces and the beef nicely rared.
The wine and the rum balls, the bread and the cheese And the way I'd never said, "No thank you, please."
As I dressed myself in my husband's old shirt And prepared once again to do battle with dirt.
So I said to myself, as I only can "You can't spend a winter disguised as a man!"
So--away with the last of the sour cream dip, Get rid of the fruit cake, every cracker and chip
Every last bit of food that I like must be banished 'Till all the additional ounces have quietly vanished.
I won't have a cookie-- not even a lick. I'll want only to chew on a long celery stick.
I won't have hot biscuits, or corn bread, or pie. I'll munch on a carrot and quietly cry.
I'm hungry, I'm lonesome, and life is a bore--- But isn't that what February is for?
Unable to giggle, it was no longer a riot. Happy New Year to all and to all a Good Diet! Well, at least until Valentine's Day!

hi [waves at furball across silent empty thread]

i am 11 5 which is goodb ut i am cheating as i weighed myself last sunday in the middle of the afternoon with half a german cake insdie me and i weighed myself this morning after weeing and naked!

not been v. good this week but getting back into the swing of not gorging myself. also managed a wee run on saturday.

Smalline · 20/10/2008 14:40

I love the poem Furball and welcome back pesme though I don't think you will be with us for long if I remember rightly, you are very focused when losing weight, good news about this weeks loss by the way.

I'm hoping Furball that none of us will feel like the person in your poem come January. You are still 1/2lb up (or is it down) on me, I lost 2.5lbs this week and got my 10% keyring. Only 9lbs away from my next stone and about 9 weeks to Christmas I think.

SheherazadetheGoat · 21/10/2008 08:39

hi smalline! i have been feebly attempting to shift this for about 6 mnths but last week joined weightwatchers and hopefully the grim determination will be back. nice to be remembered!

well done yourself!

Furball · 21/10/2008 09:27

smalline - fab fab fab stuff - well done you.

I have decided that whatever I weigh after the end of my countdown in 4 weeks time will be my target. I really am on my last legs with it and to keep forking out money to loose nothing is mad. I plan to still go to class but being at target will mean it is free. I have lost just under 2 stone, hopefully i will have my 2 stone award by then anything else is a bonus.

OP posts:
Furball · 23/10/2008 20:15

stayed the same again grrr I said today that I would deffo try and get my 2 stone award - it's too close not to really only 2 1/2 lbs. I really only need try for a couple of weeks and I'm finally there (well say there, it wasn't the same there that I started out with, that is another 8 lbs and unreachable ATM for me)

OP posts:
Smalline · 27/10/2008 15:11

1.5lbs on this week and I can't explain why except that maybe it is hormonal. I ate more bread than I usually do last week, probably had about 3 slices when most weeks I only have 1, had them with peanut butter, but I pointed everything, ah well maybe next week.

Sorry you were disappointed last week Furball.

How are you doing SheherazadetheGoat what plan are you doing? I'm also doing weightwatchers, I have the monthly pass so that I can do it online, but I still go to the meetings.

SheherazadetheGoat · 27/10/2008 20:01

hi 11 4 but dh has been away and i have just eaten my bodyweight in biscuits and crap. i was doing so well but have completely lost it the last few days will probably weight 11 8 again tomorrow.

ok tomorrow is another day!

smalline i am doing points but haven't really done it properly for last week.

Furball · 28/10/2008 10:38

I'm doing well - have stuck to it all week -apart from licking the cake mix bowl , well I least I didn't eat the cake! I hope I can probably stick to it until weigh on thursday. I've had dreams (well daydreams then) of sticking to it for a 2 weeks after the countdown has finished and actually getting to 10 st 7 lb, which was my original target.

I am even wearing size 12 jeans now [smug]

smalline & goat I feel your pain, but we have all done fantastically )even if it has taken me just over 6 years ) you are doing soooo well, brush the crumbs off your jumper and grab my hands, we can do this. Come on folks, there is still time for us to be slinky before christmas.

OP posts:
Smalline · 29/10/2008 18:57

You're right Furball there is still time for us to get slinky before christmas, thanks for keeping us motivated. Good luck for tomorrow by the way.

I'm off out with dh for a meal tomorrow night, am so looking forward to it, as I can't remember the last time we went out just the 2 or us.

Furball · 29/10/2008 19:34

Enjoy your meal smalline

I've been swimming today with friends who told me I looked fab - in a swimsuit no less! (admittedly one of them didn't have their glasses on!!)

OP posts:
Furball · 30/10/2008 20:45

friggity blooming biggity - I can't believe it, I've stayed the same. I really did try extra hard this week so am not happy. Hopefully it will give me a super duper loss next week >

OP posts:
Smalline · 31/10/2008 11:09

Oh Furball I do feel for you, and will keep my fingers crossed for you as well.

Having said that, I honestly think sometimes that too much emphasis is put on how much we weigh rather than how we look. Look on the positive side, you can now get into a size 12 jeans, and your friends are now telling you that you look fabulous in a swimsuit what is better than that?

I think what we should be telling ourselves (and especially you Furball) is 'hey we've done great we know what we have to do now, just keep it up as much as we can, and enjoy or new trimmer figures, if we lose more that is a bonus, but life is too short to be worrying over a couple of pounds.

Have a good weekend girls

Furball · 31/10/2008 11:33

Thanks smalline and yes you are right, I/you have done really well and yes I'm in size 12 jeans but I just thought I go go the extra mile to make them a more comfy fit

OP posts:
TheSwarovskiCrystalsGoat · 03/11/2008 08:05

no change for me. i can't seem to get motivated at all.

furball - enjoy your jeans and swimsuit compliments!

Smalline · 03/11/2008 14:05

Stayed the same this week, after last weeks result, I'm just glad that I haven't put on. I'm really going for it this week.

Furball · 06/11/2008 14:55

I;ve been 'going for it' this week but not in a good way. I seem to be eating alsorts of crap in extra large quantities and feel ill because of it.

Not looking forward to tonights weigh in, I'll be lucky if i haven't put on half a stone!! what am I doing?

Have told myself that after today it stops and will do 2 weeks worth of red days to make me think about new ideas (I'm a green day girl really and with a hopeful plea thinking last time I did an all red week I lot 4 1/2 lbs and double )

OP posts:
Furball · 07/11/2008 07:05

2 1/2 lbs on - which wasn't as bad as I had envisaged (I thought it must be at least 4!!) am now on my week of reds and have 'promised' to get my 2 stone award by christmas which is 7 weeks yesterday [blimey] and 4 1/2 lbs away, so quite achivable.

I'm quite positive again this week (hope it lasts) I've got in a real rut lately.

Good luck everybody

OP posts:
Furball · 07/11/2008 11:08

have had a huge fry up which included a whole pack of bacon and 3 eggs! No fat though and the 'fry' bit was fry light, twas rather scrummy. whole tin of tomatoes, and god knows how many mushrooms - could hardly get it all on the plate! all 'free foods' - that was just a mid morning snack have had breakfast and will probably have something for lunch. [piggy]

The headmistress at ds school came over this morning and said........ I had been a huge inspiration to her and she has now joined the gym! [wow]

OP posts:
Smalline · 07/11/2008 14:02

Wow Furball you must feel really proud of yourself, I know I would, if somebody said that to me.

I'm not surprised that you have been stuck in a rut recently, being told that you have stayed the same, week after week is not very motivating.

Hope you have more luck with your Red weeks Furball, when I did slimming world (at least 13 years ago) I found I lost more on Red weeks than I did Green.

Good luck everyone, let's hope it is a good week for us all next week.
