Another Tuesday! although I won't be reporting hopefully with good news until Thursday night.

Right, also thought that starting a new thread every week for just us 3 was mad so thought we'd just have our own on going thread that makes it easier to look back on - is that OK with everyone?

As predicted, this was a bad week.
1 and a half lbs gained.

BUT i know what i did wrong and can only blame myself. Fingers crossed for a better week this week.

Went on a good dog walk up a big hill today. Need to try and do this a lot because of there being no school runs.

On a positive note, i can now do up my shorts. There was at least an inch gap between button and hole before i joined WW.

Now just need some hot weather so i can wear them!!

Smalline · 29/07/2009 19:31

If only it was as easy to lose weight as it is to gain, then I'm sure I would have reached my goal weight years ago. As you say Tortoise, just write off the bad week and carry on. Good luck for the next week

Tortoise · 29/07/2009 22:29

Thanks Small. Doing OK so far i think. Got round to do 45 mins on wii fitness trainer tonight. My legs are aching now!

Tortoise · 04/08/2009 11:00

Lost 2lbs this week.
Only 1lb to go to my first 1/2 stone! Hopefully i can do it this week.

How is everyone else doing?

Smalline · 04/08/2009 22:09

You are going great guns Tortoise, well done, hope you get that silver 7 next week.

Nothing to report this week, nothing lost or gained, but I'm trying real hard, I'm back using Food Focus, and tonight I did a 'My Fitness Coach' workout, on the Wii, I must say it was really good, the kids enjoyed doing it too.

Tortoise · 04/08/2009 22:11

Thanks small. Well done to you for keeping going. I love fitness trainer on the wii. Have you done it before? I like the way the workout is varied and not the same everytime.

Smalline · 05/08/2009 08:57

No Tortoise I have not done 'my fitness coach' before, a friend lent it to me whilst she is on holiday, I was only going to have a look at the exercises, I set up my profile, then myself and the kids started the exercises and I kept going until the end, 45 minutes, I chose the weightloss option, so it was mainly cardio, with some weights to finish off. I had to mop up myself and the floor in the end.

Tortoise · 05/08/2009 15:34

Lol i know that mopping up feeling! I like the cardio one. Lower leg one is a killer too. Really leaves your legs achy and shaky lol!

Smalline · 08/08/2009 08:33

Grumpy old woman alert I am so disappointed, I did really well last week, stuck to my calories (on FF) didn't cheat one bit, weighed myself yesterday, should have lost at least 1lb, actually put on 2lbs, can you imagine my utter shock, to say that my face fell was an understatement of the year.

To rub salt in the wound, I went clothes shopping yesterday, tried on some clothes (which didn't fit by the way) in the changing rooms, I couldn't even look at myself in the mirrors I am so fat. Every lump and bump showed up in the brightly lit changing room.

Can you tell that I'm feeling a little bit down at the moment?

Furball · 08/08/2009 08:48

smalline - come and sit with me and we'll silently weep together!

How disappointing to make so much effort and to sacrifice so much food for nothing, well worse than nothing in a 2 lb gain [sympathies]

I weighed myself this morning and am 12 stone on the nose, yes I managed magically to loose 2 lbs this week, BUT I am squeezing into my clothes, no way would I even go clothes shopping.

I now have 9 days to loose that stone - I'm going on holiday then (luckily not beach) but obviously I'd be lucky to loose 1 lb by then.

I've stopped running and started walking, bought my pedometer, I'm lucky to get to 3000 steps, when I can be bothered to wear it.

No effort what so ever from me so no reward.

Why is everything you like, so blooming naughty. I can honestly say I never over-eat salad for instance.

Small At my 2nd WW weigh in (when i had tried really hard for my 1st week and only lost 1lb and a half) that sometimes it depends what you have eaten the week before joining, not what you had that week.
Keep it up and hopefully next week will show a difference.

I haven't been good this week. Had chips and battered sausages last night (Only 1 and a half sausages, bloody dog stole half!).
I am going to try really hard over the weekend and hopefully be ok by Tuesday! Will get some wii exercising in somewhere too hopefully!

Smalline · 08/08/2009 09:44

Thanks guys I feel so much better already, it's nice to know that you are there for me when I need to vent my frustration. I'm going to try really hard over the next coming weeks, I'm not going to go down without a fight.

Furball · 08/08/2009 11:49

I can't tempt you with a bit of choccy cake then - It's just come out of the oven!

Little ole piggy me, just couldn't resist a lick of the of the bowl [slurp]

Naughty Furball >.

I made honey comb earlier in the week and helped the kids scoff it!

Furball · 08/08/2009 13:56

What!

It's ds's birthday on Monday - he's gotta have a cake!

OP posts:
Tortoise · 08/08/2009 14:49

Damn those kids with Birthdays!
Luckily no Birthdays here until October!

But we are on holiday in a weeks time so i expect there will be lots of bad food eaten then lol!

Furball · 08/08/2009 15:40

Don't suppose you could post that recipe for honeycomb tortoise? sounds scrummy

OP posts:
Tortoise · 08/08/2009 15:53

Lol of course i could. Just promise not to tell me off if you scoff it all.

A square baking tin 18cm
A little butter to grease tin
5 tablespoons caster sugar
2 tablespoons golden syrup
1 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda.

1.Grease tin! Put the sugar and syrup into a saucepan over a medium heat. Bring the mixture to the boil, then let it simmer for 3-4 mins until it becomes golden brown.

  1. Take the pan off the heat, add the bicarb and mix in with a wooden spoon. When the mixture froths up, pour it into the baking tin right away.
  1. When the mixture has cooled, turn it out onto a chopping board and break into bite size pieces.
  1. You can dip pieces into melted choc if you like! Leave to set on grease proof paper.

Very easy and delicious. Tastes just like crunchie bars!

Smalline · 09/08/2009 23:00

My goodness, how am I supposed to lose weight with you two around?
