Another Tuesday! although I won't be reporting hopefully with good news until Thursday night.

Right, also thought that starting a new thread every week for just us 3 was mad so thought we'd just have our own on going thread that makes it easier to look back on - is that OK with everyone?

Hello.
I was doing ok until half term! Got to get back to positive thinking. Felt good to be more in control.

Hello mistress

mistressmiggins · 07/06/2009 07:12

I am starting in earnest today although havent been too bad over weekend.
Kids party today but thankfully I dont like biscuits or cakes so wont be tempted.

Yes stopped swimming - he failed level 6 again and I couldnt see the point in continuing especially as he has karate str after & is often too tired.
Will pop in & see you b4 if you still at same time

Furball · 07/06/2009 07:58

Don't forget - write it all down! It's easy to just think this is a couple of syns and that is a couple and before you know it you're over your quota.

We're having steak and salad for lunch - nice day for it, not!

Yes, still swimming at the same time, so may pass you in the corridor. I think everyone's a bit peeved with the new system as noone is passing anything and the kids loose incentive so numbers are really thin.

I couldn't get my jeans done up this morning.
Not looking good is it?
Have been having chicken in a tortilla wrap for lunch last few days which i guess is ok? It is the packets of crisps inbetween that mess it all up and choc fridge cake!

Smalline · 09/06/2009 09:23

Hello everyone, have managed to lose 1lb since I last posted my weight, better off than on.

Did anyone watch '10 things you need to know to lose weight' on BBC1 a couple of weeks ago, very interesting programme, couple of things stuck out in my mind, for instance you should never cut out meals to lose weight, when hungry your body is programmed to go for high calorie foods.

A rather overweight lady, thought that the reason she could never lose weight was that she had a low metabolic rate, did test on her and found that she didn't. She was then asked to record everything that she ate over the next 10 days, she was given a special liquid to drink, which when her urine was analysed cld tell them how many calories she consumed and her metabolic rate, anyway she recorded that on average she consumed around 1500 calories a day, when in fact she had consumed around 3000. According to research, when recording what we eat, most of us 'forget' half of what we eat

Tortoise · 09/06/2009 10:49

Hi SL
Yes i did watch that and found it interesting although i could see that woman who couldn't lose weight was having too big portions!

Am having another 'I just want to eat' day. Bowl of cereal and 2 bags of crisps already.

Furball · 10/06/2009 12:32

lost 2 lbs! mind you - I do have it to lose.

That included a couple of cakes/puddings so am pleased with that.

Made a huge tuna pasta salad last night and sent a portion in with dh for lunch today leaving me to finish the rest - yummy

SW chips, egg and beans for tea - all free foods

OP posts:
Furball · 15/06/2009 06:50

where are you all?

anyway - lost 3lbs this week, not sure how so not going to argue.

hope everyone else is also 'chipping away' at the bulge.

I find it so much more motivating when the sun shines. Bring on the sunshine!

Mistresss - have bought a tent (I know!) so watch out, I may just end up pitched up next door to you

OP posts:
Smalline · 15/06/2009 21:48

Neither lost nor gained this week, I'm trying to eat between 4-6 small healthy meals a day, I find that when I do that, I don't tend to pick on other higher calorie stuff, anyway I'll see if this works when I weigh myself on friday.

Well done Furball, you're nearly half way there, you're putting me to shame at the moment.

Have a good week everyone.

Tortoise · 16/06/2009 12:44

Wow Furball. Well done.
I weighed in at 13st 4lbs last night. Had to input all my details into my new wii fit My fitness coach game.
Then did a quick 15 min exercise and found it really good.
Plus am planning a summer holiday and i do not want to be as big as i am now!

Tortoise · 16/06/2009 22:08

30 mins work out on my fitness coach. OMG! My legs are killing me! Better than any DVD i have tried.
Now can i keep it up daily? We shall see!

Smalline · 17/06/2009 11:16

Don't go too mad Tortoise give yourself a break now and again to give your body a chance to recouperate.

I'm doing the 'EA sports active' 30 day challenge at the moment it's like having a personal trainer in my home, via the wii of course, I'm really enjoying it.

Tortoise · 17/06/2009 11:34

Smalline I won't do too much. Legs aren't bad today which is good. I do want to do at least 30 mins a day though. Possibly an hour over the weekend maybe in 2 30 min sessions.
I think that is ok isn't it?

Smalline · 17/06/2009 17:47

Personally Tortoise I wouldn't exercise everyday without a break, I would do 2-3 days then give my body a rest from exercise for 1 day.

Tortoise · 17/06/2009 20:52

Will have a break today then . After only 4hrs sleep i am pretty tired!

Smalline · 20/06/2009 09:15

Same as last week really, stayed the same. How are you getting on with your fitness regime Tortoise? hope you are not having too many rest days

Tortoise · 20/06/2009 15:49

Small I came out with a cold so have had lots of rest nights lol! Hopefully tomorrow night i will feel more upto it.

Tortoise · 24/06/2009 21:34

Managed 45mins today. Hopefully have time for 30-45 mins tomorrow too. I did actually enjoy it even though i was sweating and worn out!

Smalline · 27/06/2009 20:34

Hooray, managed to lose 1/2lb this week, it melted off I reckon! how is everybody else doing?

Furball · 30/06/2009 08:01

I'm still here! still trying, stayed the same the last 2 weeks [booo] although it's better than putting it on.

Well done smalline you're going in the right direction.

Tortoise · 30/06/2009 22:08

Welcome Fimbles.

I took a big step today and joined WW with my friend. Hopefully we can support each other and lose weight.

I am 13 st 3 1/2 .

45 mins wii fitness coach done today.

Furball · 01/07/2009 06:02

well done tortoise - it will help you to focus and think and hopefully boost you into uber success and slinkyness.

Threy do fabbo chocolate bars that are only 1 or 1.5 points and in the freezer section of the supermarket are frozen chocolate eclairs at 1.5 points, now they are a right WW point bargain!!

here here slinkyness!

OP posts:
Fimbles5 · 01/07/2009 08:12

Well done Tortoise for taking a big step. I joined WW again a few weeks ago and once again only lasted a week, but I know it works as I have lost two stone on it before. I just need to get back into it. Good Luck. My major downfall at the moment is binge eating on cakes, crisps and biscuits when I get in from school at 3pm (even when cooking tea so my plan for the next week is to aim to cut out all my snacking. Hopefully, with the support of this thread I can do this. I am sure this must make a difference to my weight, but we will see. Will check in tonight to let you know how things went today.
