A big welcome to anyone who wants to join us on bigger weight loss journeys.

We are all following our own methods, whatever works for each of us and no judgment for anyone who falls off the wagon for a bit either. We've all been there and know we're on a marathon and not a sprint.

Part three, let's go!

OMG congratulations @Izzydogmum your first stone of many!!!!

Well done on nearly a pound @ShinyPikachu

Sammysees · 19/09/2024 00:17

So many congratulations! Where do I start?

Well done @ShinyPikachu and @Izzydogmum.

@DuckWithOneWing - the very best of luck with your half marathon. I am awe struck. I can’t run to the end of the road. Whatever the time, it is an outstanding achievement.

I am stocked up with soup, both tinned and freshly made vegetable soup, so on track to have a good week.

I am stuck in my “no sleep” mode right now. It’s so frustrating as I am exhausted but sleep just won’t come.

Izzydogmum · 24/09/2024 10:42

@ShinyPikachu congrats on the loss so far, a loss is a loss as they say, you've done brilliantly!

@Sammysees how's the soups going? The weather has been so up and down I went back to salad for a day or so!

Weigh in day for me:
SW: 311.2
CW: 293.7 (-3.3lbs this week)
Total loss: 17.5!

Just within the next stone bracket, been nice to get rid of that number!

Good luck for the week ahead all!

Echoes89 · 24/09/2024 14:18

Back from holiday for a few days so thought I'd weigh myself this morning. Not happy with myself 13st 13.25lbs. At my lowest I got down to 12st 3lbs, so I've undone so much of my weight loss over the last year. Going to aim to get below 13st again for Christmas, so 1st in 3 months

peonym · 27/09/2024 14:56

Hi everyone 👋🏻 I've been quietly lurking for a while, loved watching your losses come rolling in and commiserating behind my phone with you when it hasn't been such a good week!

4 months postpartum so just trying to keep up with baby and toddler is about the height of it these days. I did lose some weight during pregnancy, put about a stone back on.

I think when I joined this chat way back when I was around 18 and a half stone. Currently 16st 8. I've started Mounjaro this week (I won't talk much about it, other than to say I'm trying it to see if it cuts out my emotional eating habits). I also bought a peloton and have done my first spin - it was terrifying, not least because I couldn't work out how to use spin shoes. But I'm glad I did it and I feel a little momentum now.

Decided I'm also going to loosely track calories in my fitness pal, see if that helps motivate.

Hope everyone is doing well - it's cosy season so I'm dreading the thoughts of red wine and cheese by the fire creeping in 🙈

DuckWithOneWing · 27/09/2024 17:52

My half marathon is on Sunday, so I have decided calories don't count as I need to start carb loading. I'm not that optimistic about the run but my fundraising is going better than expected so that's good.

@Echoes89 you've done it before and you can do it again. It's really annoying when you have to try again, but at least now you know what is possible! Hopefully you had a good holiday.

@peonym I remember you! I've only used a peloton once, and the shoes were the most difficult bit. I couldn't unclip them and ended up gracefully falling onto the floor at the end.

peonym · 27/09/2024 18:52

Hi @DuckWithOneWing! Ha I fell gracefully to the floor and threw said shoe at the wall in a fit of rage. Hoping tomorrow proves more successful 🙈 hope you're doing well!

PreesHeath · 27/09/2024 20:38

Good luck @DuckWithOneWing ! We’re rooting for you!

DuckWithOneWing · 29/09/2024 14:33

Thanks guys. I did it! I couldn't have done it without this thread. 9.5 stone ago I could barely walk up the stairs and now I can do half marathons.

Sammysees · 29/09/2024 15:01

Well done @DuckWithOneWing. What a fantastic achievement!!

Sunshineandrainbow · 29/09/2024 15:17

Wow @DuckWithOneWing you are an inspiration.
Bet you must feel on top of the world.
I hope your celebrating.

PreesHeath · 29/09/2024 21:59

Amazing! What an achievement!

chalkyc2 · 30/09/2024 05:56

Hello everyone. I was last on here back in April at the start of this latest thread moaning about being on a plateau. Turns out I should have quit moaning and got on with it but there we are! I spent the summer trying to at least maintain if I wasn't going to lose but relaxed and last weekend faced up to an 8kg increase (😭😭) having lost 50kg in the previous April 23-24.

Anyway. Somehow have spent the week getting back on track and am now 'only' 5kg above my lightest. I have 13kg (just over 2 stone) to my target weight of 60 kg and am hoping to get there by Christmas. Or that's the plan!!

SW April 23 - 118kg
April 24 - 68kg
CW - 73kg
Target - 60kg

Sunshineandrainbow · 30/09/2024 08:18

Morning @chalkyc2
What an amazing start.
You will do this.
I would love 2 stone before Christmas too. Let's do it.

I must weigh myself as haven't weighed for a few weeks not because I have been off plan I just find I stay on plan better when I don't weigh often!!!!

chalkyc2 · 30/09/2024 08:31

@Sunshineandrainbow it's pretty much 12 weeks to Christmas. We could just about do this I reckon! Will be tough and we will have to be pretty disciplined!!

I always revert back to Fast 800 principles which I find just about doable and effective. Apart from I cheat and drink tea/coffee on top of the 800 cals (shock)! 3 small meals a day that are protein and veg focused. Here we go.

peonym · 30/09/2024 16:51

Hey @chalkyc2 would love to join in on the 2 stone before Christmas goal! Currently on hols, will report back on Thursday!

chalkyc2 · 30/09/2024 20:48

Ok @peonym - let's do it! You can start when you're back off hols. I'm on it but it's going to be hard (sob sob!!!). @Sunshineandrainbow you in too? Anyone else?

I have a couple of days away in October but I will be as disciplined as possible. I've been back on track a week now and I'm finding it hard going. As much as anything I've done a massive wardrobe clear out and only have clothes to fit the new me. So it's essential to keep going.

I don't know what the secret is of people who remain constantly slim other than huge will power 😬

Sunshineandrainbow · 01/10/2024 08:09

Yes I am in...
Although I feel a bit deflated this morning as have just weighed and only lost 2lb in September.
Start weight 18.9
Current weight
15.8

Weekends are my problem. I am very strict in the week and let go a bit at the weekends when I am home more. Although I don't go as crazy as I have in the past when I would buy two meals from McDonald's just for me, whole pizzas, daily bag of crisps etc.
Now a treat at the weekends is a Vege sausages sandwich :)

Also don't do any exercise so maybe need to add some.

peonym · 01/10/2024 09:04

@Sunshineandrainbow weekends are my problem too!

Just looked in full length mirror in hotel room and could honestly cry, lumps and bumps everywhere 🫠 2 stone would make a huge difference to my body shape. Overindulged in wine last night, eek.

chalkyc2 · 01/10/2024 11:30

So I thought I didn't look too bad (I mean better than a year ago and ok when fully clothed!) until I saw some photos that were taken at the weekend of my sports team playing a match. I am in shorts. My god I look absolutely horrendous. My legs look like blancmange or jelly. Doesn't help that half the team are teenage girls!

Loose skin is better than previous situation but honestly my legs look totally dreadful.

DuckWithOneWing · 01/10/2024 14:49

I would love to lose 2 stone by Christmas! That will take me pretty much to my target weight. I can't believe it's so close, but it also feels so far away.

Stop being so hard on yourself @chalkyc2 everyone hates how they look in some photos! Especially if you weren't expecting it or they caught you at a bad angle.

DuckWithOneWing · 02/10/2024 18:55

I've just joined a gym!

It's mainly to use the treadmill as I don't want to run outside in bad weather. I might use some of the classes as well.

chalkyc2 · 03/10/2024 09:54

Amazing @DuckWithOneWing ! I have a peloton and it's so good to have indoor cardio opportunities!!

I know - 2 stone takes me to my goal but I've been close for 6 months now and can't seem to get there. I'm determined now. Christmas is our time..!

peonym · 03/10/2024 10:58

@DuckWithOneWing joining the gym is a huge step!!

I've got to try my peloton again this weekend. Just back from hols, ready to really kick start this again. I'll drop my weights below as an accountability piece.

SW (pre pregnancy): 18,7
CW: 16,10 (and sort of my new starting weight)
GW: 11,4

chalkyc2 · 03/10/2024 22:25

@peonym Have you tried power zone classes on the peloton? Amazing - I'm a total convert.
