A big welcome to anyone who wants to join us on bigger weight loss journeys.

We are all following our own methods, whatever works for each of us and no judgment for anyone who falls off the wagon for a bit either. We've all been there and know we're on a marathon and not a sprint.

Part three, let's go!

I'm down just less than one kg this week, which I'm pleased with as my weight isn't really moving recently. I've just been to the gym and had a really good session.

Well done @PlantDoctor that's great!

@Sunshineandrainbow I can't crochet. I've tried a few times but have got to the point where I've given up. I do a lot of latch hook though.

peonym · 21/01/2025 10:01

Well done @Sunshineandrainbow @DuckWithOneWing !

Well done also @PlantDoctor . Its been a bit of a journey for me! I started off in January 2023 and lost around 7lbs over a few months. I then joined this lovely thread in July 2023. I got pregnant in September 2023 and probably lost 1 stone in my pregnancy due to sickness. So ended up around 17st in May 2024. Continued to lose a bit post partum and then at the beginning of October 2024 after approval of my doctor I decided to try Mounjaro. I know it's not for everyone and I won't go into it here. But my loss since then has been a steady 1.5lbs a week. I'll be coming off it next month as we would like to try for baby no3 this summer and I want to be well clear of any drugs in the system. So really the test for me will be March. I have however implemented a LOT of good groundwork - I bought a peloton in September and use it at least 4 times a week. I also started jogging again. And use Gousto meals to help me with my portion sizes.

It's not been a quick journey AT ALL but I feel like this time it might actually work. Would love to hit 12 stone this summer before TTC.

Hello ladies!

My first post since the New Year...how is everyone getting on? How are we still in January?!

I've had a positive start to the year, which is what I was focused on after loosening the reins a bit over Christmas! I have had my birthday and a short mini break with a friend this month, so I've been keen to be really on it the rest of the time. And so, very happily, I can now say I've lost FIVE STONE. I honestly can't really believe it. I have never lost this amount of weight, and while I've still got a way to go, I'm just really proud of myself.
It's around 7 weeks until I've been on this journey a full year, so I'm excited to see where I can get to by that point.
Here are my numbers this month (hope to check in again in late Feb) -

SW - 18st 10lbs
CW - 13st 10lbs
GW - 12st

(Weight loss in Jan - 6lbs)

Keep going ladies! We've got this x

Sunshineandrainbow · 25/01/2025 08:47

Wow @Thejugglestruggle 5 stone is amazing you must feel incredible.

I am not weighing today, I know it will be lower than last Saturday but I have been in hospital Mon -friday so I don't feel it will be a true reflection and I don't want to be then disappointed if it then goes up next week.

I have finally had my gallbladder out unfortunately as an emergency rather then nice and planned. Feeling very sorry for myself and literally doing nothing apart from watching TV and surfing the net!

Hope you all have a good weekend😊

DuckWithOneWing · 26/01/2025 20:04

Wow @Thejugglestruggle you're doing really well! You should be proud. Give yourself a non-food reward.

@Sunshineandrainbow get well soon! You deserve to take it easy for a few days.

I've been unwell recently but nothing exciting. I've been really exhausted and had no energy. On Friday I barely left the sofa all day. Today I've felt a bit better so managed to do some walking at least. Tomorrow I'm busy so won't get to go to my usual gym classes, but I'm not sure I'm up to it anyway.
My weight has been the same recently so I got my partner to change the batteries in the scale to see if that helped. Unfortunately it didn't make a difference 🙁

StHilarion · 26/01/2025 21:07

Can I join please for inspiration and companionship. Weighed 18/1 130kg and hoping to lose a kilo a week. Weighed yesterday after 1 week and very pleased to be 127kg

Loobylou99 · 27/01/2025 16:54

Hello, I'd love to join. I'm sat here googling as usual trying to find answers, cures, how to's and a magic wand then I found this thread. Maybe I need you guys instead?!
I've got 10 stone to lose. Lost 3 stone feb to sept last year. Went on holiday which triggered the other me raising her ugly head and I've put 2 stone on since then.
I'm really trying but I hate myself so much, more than I've ever hated anyone so it's hard to even begin to begin again 😪

ShinyPikachu · 28/01/2025 08:43

Count me in the gang of those with illness recently. Could barely get out of bed so I skipped weigh in until I felt up to it, especially since it was the sort of bug that had me craving sugar but also just eating everything I could see. I got the soup maker out so I've been making a lot of soup this past week at least.

Welcome to those joining us.

@Loobylou99 - please don't hate yourself. I know it's easy to do when you have a lot of weight to lose, tbh I think we've all been there which is why we're here now. But please remember we only get one body to live in and if you love (or at least slightly like) your body I find it's easier to want to treat it well and work on losing weight.

As for me, I've lost 2lb in the past couple of weeks and I'm so close to going down that big number. Fingers crossed for next week.

SW: 19st 11.6ln
CW: 18st 1lb

@ShinyPikachu enjoy your soup, I am mainly surviving on shop bought at the moment which is ok but I am missing my home made.

If my op had been planned I would have prepped some but that wasn't to be 😟

You will smash that next stone bracket soon I can feel it 😊

Welcome to the newbies, lovely to have you on board this friendly thread.

DuckWithOneWing · 30/01/2025 10:46

My highest weight was 144.2 kg (22st 10lbs). My weight when I stepped on the scales this morning was 72.1 kg (11st 5lbs).

This means I have lost half of my body weight! I'm literally half the person I used to be.

I absolutely cannot believe it!

Sunshineandrainbow · 30/01/2025 10:56

Wow @DuckWithOneWing that is absolutely incredible, you have worked so hard to get this and deserve every success! Truly inspirational 🙂

You must feel amazing 😍

That is so impressive, you should be so proud of yourself. It is incredibly difficult to do what you've achieved.

That's absolutely amazing @DuckWithOneWing - you've done so well.

@DuckWithOneWing that is amazing. Well done

DuckWithOneWing · 31/01/2025 18:18

Thanks everyone! I definitely could not have done it without this thread. I can't believe how well I've done and how close I am to my goal. It's taken 3 years so it hasn't been quick or easy.

StHilarion · 01/02/2025 16:42

Weigh day. Down1.2 kg not as much as I hoped, usually lose more in first couple of weeks but a step in right direction.

A loss is a loss, well done, fantastic start.

I haven't weighed today as still laid up after surgery and not eating much so when I weigh I don't want a false result if that makes sense.

I am going to make a vege chilli tomorrow that will be an easy dinner I can have every night.

StHilarion · 02/02/2025 14:51

@Sunshineandrainbow sorry to hear you have had surgery and I hope that you are recovering well. I agree that now is not the time to focus on dieting but I hope you have a pleasant surprise when you do step on the scales

ShinyPikachu · 03/02/2025 11:54

@Sunshineandrainbow - hope your recovery is quick but I'm glad you're resting up as much as possible too and just focusing on that for now.

I had a small gain this week but I've had a really bad heavy period, one of the ones that makes me crave all the wrong foods. So hopefully next week is better.

OP posts:
DuckWithOneWing · 03/02/2025 20:33

I'm not weighing today. I conquered my fear of the dentist, so I had a celebratory wine and McDonald's.

Today I did a new gym class. It included highlights such as a 2.5 minute wall sit, and lots of Burpees. Hated every minute of it, can't wait to go back next week.

@ShinyPikachu onwards and downwards! Hopefully this week is better.

@StHilarion 1.2kg loss is good! Keep going and it all adds up.

AITAH10 · 06/02/2025 00:11

PlantDoctor · 13/01/2025 23:32

That's absolutely incredible! Congratulations!

Definitely know how you feel. If I lost 60 I'd still be very overweight. It's so frustrating, especially with posts on the weight loss injections boards asking if people can take it to lose half a stone or whatever.

I don't want to take weight loss injections. It sounds daft but I want to do it myself! There are a few threads where people are losing large amounts of weight without weight loss injections though. I'm on "lots to lose accountability (no WLI)" on the chat board for example. Lots of people on this thread are also doing it without injections. X

Sorry completely forgot I posted as I don't use MN daily or even weekly sometimes. Thanks for the tips about the other threads. Still on the horse and am almost at 5 stone. Some of January was disappointing losses that I wasn't expecting (6,6.5,1.5,0.5) but started February with a 5.5lb weight loss which was good as I was getting a bit disheartened.

I get what you mean about wanting to do it on your own ( no injections) and hope your journeys still going well

DuckWithOneWing · 08/02/2025 20:40

It's been a frustrating week this week as I've hurt my leg. Along with my existing arm issue it's meant I haven't been able to do much exercise. I did go to Pilates this morning and that was mostly fine so hopefully everything is back to normal now!

@AITAH10 the small losses still add up though! You won't have big losses every week because unfortunately your body doesn't work like that. But if you keep plodding on it's worth it

Sunshineandrainbow · 09/02/2025 10:56

Morning all

I have weighed and feel ok about it.
Start weight 18.10
Current weight 14.11

I did drop a few more pounds whilst in hospital but I knew it would level out so wanted to wait.

Being at home all day is tough and there is much more snacking. But I am not going to get stressed about it. I have one more week at home then back to work and back into the routine.

I have bought some protein shake powder so I might introduce that this week.

wholeeverything · 09/02/2025 13:50

Hi everybody, hope it's OK for me to join this thread? I've been reading your inspirational stories and feel like I would benefit from a community to keep me motivated.

I've always been heavy, but over the last five years the weight's really piled on. The last time I remember feeling 'healthy' I was around 14 and a half stone. So still heavy, but felt fit and strong and in control. I'm now about eight stone heavier than that.

I've had so much yo-yo dieting over the years, and I feel like after lots of false starts I do now know what works for me. Calorie counting makes me feel like I'm in constant denial, and I don't think will work for the 1-2 years I'll be on this journey (and forever!). So, I've a few solid breakfasts and lunches that I know are 400ish calories, from weighing them once, and then I'll be eating the family dinner which is generally healthy, with slightly less carbs than the rest of the family. Lots of vegetables, fibre, protein and water. I'm really focussing on getting enough good sleep, and reducing and avoiding stress. Aiming to swim twice a week and walk 3-4 times a week - for now my only goal is to actually get up and out, rather than specific distances / times.

This was my first week in a long time sticking fully to this plan. I lost five pounds which I suppose for a first week is good, and hopefully I'll keep losing. I'd really like to be able to eat how I plan to eat forever, and still lose weight, even if very slowly.
