Good news @Jacci63
Getting into the next stone bracket is the best, it feels like you drop a whole stone at once 😁

I know @AhBiscuits I absolutely cannot wait!

Gingerlygreen · 26/01/2024 13:34

@AhBiscuits Well done! It must be great to almost be in the 11's, how tall are you?
I'm 5'7 and planning to go to around 11 stone. In my early 20s I got to 11st 4 and felt amazing.

@Jacci63 sorry to hear you've done something to your back, losing weight still definitely help, at my heaviest I was just under 17 stone and in so much pain with plantar fasciitis and aching hips, at last weigh in I was just under 15 stone and although I'm not pain free yet it's considerably less.

AhBiscuits · 26/01/2024 13:36

@Gingerlygreen
I'm only 5ft 4. I know that when I get into the low 11s I'll be feeling pretty good about how i look. But I need to be in the 10s really, I'm an apple and even in the high 10s I have noticeably too much belly fat.

End of 2nd week (.25 dose) and just a lb off this week. Bit disappointed as i 100% stuck to my calorie deficit and got lots of activity in. Would have liked 2-3 as it’s still early days and thought it’d come off quicker.

the really good thing about this is that any other diet I would be binging now with the “why bother, it doesn’t work anyway” mindset after almost starving myself for a 1lb loss but actually on wegovy I have no inclination to overeat or console myself with food. I just don’t physically want it - even if my usual reaction would have been to say “sod it” and break out the chocolate.

onto 3rd shot this afternoon and hope my body catches up and I can get 2 off this week!

Remember that wegovy is almost the opposite to normal weight loss - you won't see the biggest gains at the beginning because that's when the dose is lowest!

AhBiscuits · 26/01/2024 16:11

It'll come @Hotgirlwinter
The best thing about Wegovy is you can't have a bad day and then quit, the drug is still in you. The losses soon add up. I've had 10 losses in a row and am now 20lbs down. Some weeks I lost 0.4lbs and some 4lbs.

SW: 13st 7.8
CW: 12st 1.8
GW: 10st 6
Total lost: 20lbs

Another 2lbs off this week. If I do the same next week I'll be in the 11s and halfway to my goal of losing 44lbs 😊

Amazing these are my figures too, so huge congratulations! I am a bit behind on 12’9. I am finally feeling so motivated again. Two people have said I’ve lost weight this week and I’ve lost 9lbs this month (some of it was Xmas weight).

Admired some of my too small summer clothes in the loft and feeling very optimistic that I will fit into them!

Whoever said about it being like a reverse diet is so right 1mg and you will really see the positive effects. Think I’ll stay on 1mg for another month and think about 1.7mg. Ideally want to get another few lbs off this week and make it a stone this nth

witte · 26/01/2024 18:26

My face is looking noticeably slimmer, and my clothes are looser. I'm so glad I took the plunge.

Herewegovy1 · 26/01/2024 18:29

Thank you for these helpful messages. Really good to remember it works with bigger gains in the future. Coming to the end of my second week of 0.25. First week I lost arguably too much (8lb) because I found it hard to eat at all, this week I’ve barely felt the drug in my system and think it will be a good week if I have lost 1lb. Looking forward to upping the dose and hopefully making progress again. Marathon not a sprint!

Helene2019 · 26/01/2024 19:57

@AhBiscuits you're half way there almost. Also Lepicol was what I couldn't remember! Thanks for reminding me I want to try that

MorphandMindy · 27/01/2024 01:51

I feel like I'm slowing down as I'm getting closer to a more reasonable weight. In the overweight bracket but no longer obese - but I can feel my hips again (and not just belly!). Since November I've lost 20lbs (over 9kgs), and I'm a few hundred grams away from a target I haven't met in years.

To be fair, my weight loss goals have been modified a lot over the years so this is my "achievable but still overweight" target. I might need to set another now that actually entering a healthy BMI bracket no longer sounds like such a crazy idea...

For my second month of 0.5 it's going pretty well but def having more side effects now from the occasional cheat day - anything greasy or cheesy makes me feel ill and hangovers kick in more from less wine.

Tindrum · 27/01/2024 07:15

I’ve found these weight loss updates really helpful so here goes:

SW 14.2 (lost stone before starting Wegovy)
SW Wegovy October 13.2
CW 11.2
GW 10 (this would be a healthy bmi but the very top end of it)

I had good weight loss the first month and then it really slowed down to about a pound a week. Sometimes it can discouraging, especially when you see other big losses, but I do think this is a much easier way to lose weight than other diets I’ve tried because I don’t have a battle of wills with my hunger and feeling deprived. Previous diets have been so restrictive that I couldn’t stick to them for more than 3 months but I feel fine plodding away on Wegovy.

Very excited to potentially see a 10 on the scales sometime soon! At this pace it will most likely be summer before I hit a healthy bmi.

Still on 1mg, took a bit of adjusting to but is now giving me the appetite suppression that .25 did way back in October.

Good luck to everyone and keep keeping on.

That's brilliant

Did you go up on the dose every month?

Tindrum · 27/01/2024 09:36

@witte thanks! I went up each month until I got to 1mg which was a bit full on so I dropped to .75 for a couple of weeks then went up to 1mg. I found that it took a couple of weeks at 1mg for it to build up and now my appetite has completely gone and I don’t get side effects as long as I’m sensible with what I eat and drink. Magnesium citrate has really helped with constipation (sorry if that’s tmi). I skip breakfast, eat around 1.30 and try to finish evening meals by 7.30. As I say not interstellar losses but it is consistently in the downwards direction and it all adds up in the end. Hope that helps.

How long does it take to 'feel' the effects? I've had my first 0.25 dose 4 hours ago

A bit longer than that!

Remember this dose is going to last you a week so it's going to be more of a slow burner. 0.25 is also an introductory dose to get your body used to it, so it should be reasonably gentle ("should" being the operative word, but every human body is different).

You might find tomorrow you're still hungry but you're not snacking quite as much, and the day after the food noise will have died down quite a bit.

I'm becoming a broken record on these threads but I'll say it again Grin

0.25 is a starting dose. 2.7 is the therapeutic dose. Most people feel the effects somewhere on the journey to 2.7 (which takes 6 months) but it's not guaranteed. Some people feel the effect of 0.25 but it's largely psychosomatic. This is a long term plan.

Hopthegoodgod · 27/01/2024 17:19

I am on week 5 and up to 0.50 dose. Absolutely no effect as yet. I contacted manufacturer and they echoed some of the above comments. The product SLOWLY builds up in your system and can take up to 3 months to have any effect. Personally I will keep going until I get to 2.5 as I am determined to give this my best shot. I may turn out to be one of the 15% of patients for whom the product doesn't work - a non responder. We'll see.

sallyanne33 · 27/01/2024 17:46

Can I join? Had my first shot yesterday. I’ve been a couple of stone overweight most of my adult life, I’ve put on another 20 lbs since the summer and I’m ready to finally sort it out. None of my clothes fit. I got down to a healthy weight last year with intermittent fasting and gym but I just gave up after a while and the weight came back on. I’m a sugar addict and an emotional eater. Am fasting again and hoping Wegovy will enable me to stay consistent. I have definitely eaten less since I had the injection, just haven’t really felt like much. I had a moment this morning where I thought I would throw up but it quickly passed, other than that no side effects yet except a sore injection site on my leg. Really hoping this is the extra push I need to get my weight under control finally!

Andrasa · 27/01/2024 18:05

Here’s my weight loss chart, you can see although I never lost loads in any week (other than one massive drop at the start) it adds up over time.

I went up from 0.25 to 1 in this time and felt like it had about the same impact the whole way through.

I'm looking to start as I'm 6 stone overweight and fed up. I've been reading all your posts and I am inspired. Has anyone had any side effects?

Totally this as someone on 1mg for the second time! To lose more weight not that I put any on 😊 I would really recommend those who aren’t feeling effects to get up to 1mg as quickly as possible. The side effects really do settle. In the US they start on 1mg - no wonder they are so thin 😂

I did think of a negative thing today (am mainly extolling the virtues!) is that I feel SO BORING

i had planned to go out with my best friend for dinner and drinks. But I have no appetite and I am so violently sick whenever I drink! Don’t know how the Real Housewives do it. I just feel so boring. I cancelled which in our 8 year friendship I have never done! She then sent me chocolates which I feel bad about - thinks I’m ill! I have said I’m on ozempic but think she’s forgotten (it’s fine!).

im a bit annoyed - when I took it last year there were shortages so I was only on 1MG for one month, had to go back to 0.5mg and it just took ages and ended up only losing 2 stone because summer came.

so determined to get it off quite quickly this time around! I hate being such a fun sponge but dying to be slim and fit in my clothes. Must be strong! And painfully boring 😂😂😂

Yes you might get a bad tummy, eggy burps and/or constipation. Also as you get on the high doses you really will not be able to drink (I’m not a big drinker but I big drink in small doses when I’m out) and eating out (usually I love) becomes something you actively just dont want to do because you just don’t want to eat / have a complete disinterest in food!

Eddmr · 27/01/2024 19:18

Thank you. I don't drink so that's not an issue. Can't wait not to be totally obsessed with food.
