I'm about to start my last pen. But can I have a little moan? I'm honestly getting pretty fed up of Wegovy right now.
It's been 16 weeks and over 30lbs. The weight loss is great, I have little appetite most of the time and even when I am hungry the portions I will eat are smaller than I'm used to. My 'goals' jeans are loose on me. My boss told me she admired my style this week (we have a very casual workplace but I've been wearing more fitted dresses from a few years ago since none of my jeans fit!) Cardio is easier the thinner you are; I wouldn't have known that before. That's the good part.
The big downside for me is the gassiness is getting worse. After any meal or drinks out, I'll start burping halfway through and then all the way home on the train. It'll be a couple of hours of wind, just unpleasant and mortifying especially if you're trying to have a heart to heart chat over dinner with a friend you haven't seen for a while. And I'm dreading meals now.
My team went out for dinner this week and two things happened: I had a couple of bites of steak tartare as a shared starter. Absolutely delicious. But i really struggle to digest red meat on Wegovy; and uncooked meat is obviously worse. I gagged brushing my teeth the next morning and threw up that mouthful of undigested meat - nothing else. Gross. The other thing was that I thought my crab risotto was just slightly too fishy - and as soon as I thought that, I got the ick and couldn't eat another mouthful, leaving 3/4 of it behind.
I really do miss enjoying food. I can't even be bothered to make salads, I'm more likely to have two chocolate biscuits for dinner instead because I have no interest in cooking and there's no point buying food I won't cook.
I'm finishing out the last pen, it should take me to a BMI of almost 25, and that will be enough. I'm ready to be done.
That all said, it's been so wildly successful that DH has been talking about starting on it himself since he’s seen me slim down so much, and if he’s not eating then I won't have to cook much, which will definitely help me with maintenance!
