For some people it doesn't work and it's not really supposed to work until you've got up to 1mg so you wouldn't know if it's working for you or not until a few months.

Hasn't worked for me so far and I'm three months in .🙄

So I've been on 0.25 for 5 weeks now and my weight loss has stalled, I've remained the same for a week and a half despite eating around 1000-1500 cals a day. I'm a bit scared about going up to 0.5 as I can't cope with feeling sick. I need to go up though, don't I? Confused

You might feel better building up your tolerance, so yes increase

Jacci63 · 08/03/2024 07:09

So 9 weeks on wegovy and I have lost 15lbs. Would I like it to be coming off faster? Of course I would but it is coming off and if I wasn't on wegovy I am sure I would have put weight on!
I have still got a very long way to go ( approx 95lbs ) but I am confident that as long as I keep doing what I am doing and using wegovy it will come off and that makes me very happy indeed. I have never felt confident like this before.
As the increase to 0.5mg made me feel awful I have been using the clicks to titrate more slowly and am taking 0.4mg and the side effects are not too bad at all.
Take care all.

AhBiscuits · 08/03/2024 08:13

That's great progress @Jacci63 , well done.

Weigh in day and another 0.8lbs off, taking me to just over 2 stone lost in 16 weeks. 16.4lbs to go. Getting there!

SW: 13st 7.8
CW: 11st 7.4
GW: 10st 6
Lost: 28.4lbs

I have 9mg of drugs left. I don't intend to buy more. I'm taking 1mg at the moment and not increasing. I'll do 5 more weeks of 1mg then I might drag my last pen out and taper off. Do something like 2 weeks of 1mg, 3 weeks of 0.5mg and 2 weeks of 0.25mg.

Weekly check in. Moving up to 1.7mg dose my BMI started moving again start BMI 32.7 now 29.3. but also now constipated 😩. Been poorly this week after a foot injury so have been fairly stationary. Hope to break 29 this week.

I have noticed a few things. More wrinkles on my face - I'm guessing due to fat loss, my skin is less filled out! and also my feet have got narrower as I am slipping out of shoes I've worn for years.

great weight losses @LemonKitten @AhBiscuits and @Jacci63

@LemonKitten it looks like you've lost 7 not 5lb (unless my math is off?)

had second 1mg on tues this week and have felt awful, really nauseous and woke up at 5.30am with diarrhoea on wed - not really had this level of side effects before. It seems to be (hopefully) settling down a bit. Does anyone take anti sickness tablets and do they work?

Hope you all have a great day :)

hellsbells99 · 08/03/2024 08:56

Well done on all your weight losses!
I have stuck to 1mg as I had constipation issues but thankfully I appear to be ok now.
I have eaten too much this week - partly habit, partly the Wegovy not being as effective now …..and not helped by a couple of meals out and someone gifting me a box of chocolates.
But the good news is at 15 weeks on it, I have now lost exactly 2 stone!
I do need to lose a lot more so I am staying on it for now. Aiming for a minimum of another 2 stone. I will never be thin but would like to lose the weight to improve my health.

Jacci63 · 08/03/2024 13:51

We are going on holiday soon and I bought a jumpsuit from Next, when I started wegovy I was between an 18/20.

I thought I would order both the 18 and 16 and the 16 fits.......so so happy!

Take care all.

Lou4564 · 08/03/2024 17:01

Has anyone done blood tests while on wegovy. I am half way thru week 6 and on my .5 dose now and I got some results that indicated very high prolactin levels and I wonder if it could be due to wegovy? I’m unsure on the impact on hormones

@anoldcharter I found mints and mint teas do wonders, also antacids. For mea the nausea is resolved with gaviscon or antacid and then not indulging in trigger foods (alcohol, fatty food (fatty red meat, cheese, chocolate crisps, biscuits cake etc).

@Jacci63 that's amazing! I couldn't believe when I was able to fit into size 14 trousers!

Congratulations to you both, that's an amazing achievement. It's so nice to feel clothes fit!

MorphandMindy · 09/03/2024 09:23

I'm about to start my last pen. But can I have a little moan? I'm honestly getting pretty fed up of Wegovy right now.

It's been 16 weeks and over 30lbs. The weight loss is great, I have little appetite most of the time and even when I am hungry the portions I will eat are smaller than I'm used to. My 'goals' jeans are loose on me. My boss told me she admired my style this week (we have a very casual workplace but I've been wearing more fitted dresses from a few years ago since none of my jeans fit!) Cardio is easier the thinner you are; I wouldn't have known that before. That's the good part.

The big downside for me is the gassiness is getting worse. After any meal or drinks out, I'll start burping halfway through and then all the way home on the train. It'll be a couple of hours of wind, just unpleasant and mortifying especially if you're trying to have a heart to heart chat over dinner with a friend you haven't seen for a while. And I'm dreading meals now.

My team went out for dinner this week and two things happened: I had a couple of bites of steak tartare as a shared starter. Absolutely delicious. But i really struggle to digest red meat on Wegovy; and uncooked meat is obviously worse. I gagged brushing my teeth the next morning and threw up that mouthful of undigested meat - nothing else. Gross. The other thing was that I thought my crab risotto was just slightly too fishy - and as soon as I thought that, I got the ick and couldn't eat another mouthful, leaving 3/4 of it behind.

I really do miss enjoying food. I can't even be bothered to make salads, I'm more likely to have two chocolate biscuits for dinner instead because I have no interest in cooking and there's no point buying food I won't cook.

I'm finishing out the last pen, it should take me to a BMI of almost 25, and that will be enough. I'm ready to be done.

That all said, it's been so wildly successful that DH has been talking about starting on it himself since he’s seen me slim down so much, and if he’s not eating then I won't have to cook much, which will definitely help me with maintenance!

AhBiscuits · 09/03/2024 09:36

I definitely understand how you feel @MorphandMindy
I'm 16 weeks in and have lost 29lbs. I have 16lbs to go to get to BMI 25 and have 2 pens left. I know they'll get me pretty close to goal and I'm stopping after I've finished them.
I look good and am obviously really happy about that. I have a whole wardrobe full of clothes that I can wear again.
I'm fed up of feeling a bit shit. I'm exhausted a lot of the time, if I eat too much or too much fat I get terrible stomach pains, I've been having a lot of headaches and dizzy spells. I'm just over it and ready to move on.
I am very conscious of what life will be like after though and really focusing on getting into a routine that I can maintain, even when I have hunger to contend with.

That's it exactly @AhBiscuits just "feeling a bit shit" all the time. I've been lucky in that I rarely get cramps but when I do I have definitely noticed that it's fatty or greasy food. The upside is that I rarely have this in my day to day diet anyway (more of a carb fan!) so I'm mostly fine. Apart from the gas!

What I really want to focus on afterwards is listening to the clues that Wegovy has been kindly amplifying for me and getting comfortable with stopping eating when I'm full. I rarely have that "I'm done" sensation until the plate is cleared - but if I can learn to recognise it (after a few months of being conditioned to listen more to my body!), I think that will be the key.

I'd be interested to hear more about what your plan is for afterwards.

Maybe in a few weeks, if there isn't one already we should start a "Moving on after Wegovy" thread too and talk about what we find as it wears off - what habits do stick with us and what the challenges are.

Lovesthebeach · 09/03/2024 10:24

Hi everyone, sounds like everyone is doing pretty well on the weight loss front!

I’m getting close to the normal bmi range.. I genuinely can’t believe it… I’ve got approx another 7-10ibs to go.

is anyone else finding it hard to get their head around the weight loss and looking/feeling better? I think because I have yo-you’d so much over the years I almost can’t believe that it’s real? The thought of getting to a weight I’ve only ever dreamed of in my whole adult life is very surreal….

I’ve got 2 doses of 1.0 left then I’m going to order another pen… hopefully my last one…

I’m struggling a bit at the moment with anxiety and low self esteem… which is ironic given that I look and feel better 🙄🙄 I’ve still got a lot of work To do mentally….

Lovesthebeach · 09/03/2024 10:25

@MorphandMindy great idea re a new thread for those of us moving in from wegovy..

AhBiscuits · 09/03/2024 10:37

I'll definitely be up for a moving on thread in a couple of months. At the moment my routine is
Breakfast: protein yoghurt and some fruit
Lunch: soup and a roll or a sandwich. A piece of fruit
Dinner: a small portion of a normal, healthy meal

I have no snacks, drink either water or black coffee. Maybe the very occasional alcoholic drink. I have lost 1-2lbs per week consistently for 4 months. My maintenance plan is continue with this and add more exercise to give me a little wiggle room.

I've now done a full week on 1mg and just injected my second does this morning. Still no weight loss worth mentioning and no real sign of any appetite suppression either, hence no weight loss!

witte · 09/03/2024 11:20

Can anyone link to the extra needles they've bought please?

AhBiscuits · 09/03/2024 11:27

I bought these and they work fine.
